I LOVE FroZenYo. Actually, I love the frozenyo at this location only. I went to the Friendship Heights location and the yo' (keeping with the lingo) was a little watery and not as delicious. So, if you want the best location, Woodley's is it! I always get the same thing: a little cake batter+vanilla+pecans. There's something in those pecans that keeps me going back for more. You totally need to go to the zoo and stop by this FroZenYo for some icey cold treat and don't forget pecans! read more

Awful mess run by disinterested teenagers. Little kids stick their fingers into the toppings, they were out of all fruit except for 1, and when I asked, the apathetic employee said that everything else was still frozen...guess they don't do anything fresh here. They were out of the original plain flavor yogurt as well, and the employees were shouting curse words back and forth while playing around, and were under dressed (think cut-off booty shorts). All just seemed totally unprofessional, unsanitary, and over priced. Ill stick to yogi berry up the street from now on. read more

Conveniently located across the street from the National Zoo, this place is bright and clean with cheery employees. The flavors, which run from cali tart (their equivalent of plain) to cheesecake to mango to dulce de leche to velvet cake to pistachio, make me incredibly indecisive even though I know I can get multiple flavors in one cup. Since I was feeling decadent and grouchy, I got birthday cake and chocolate yogurts, and topped them with chopped up Kit Kats, peanut butter cups, and chocolate chips. FroZenYo offers hot fudge and caramel sauces after you weigh your cup and pay, and I took advantage of the opportunity to add more chocolate. The chocolate yogurt was solid, but I was underwhelmed by the birthday cake flavor. Both were rather on the soft side. I'd visit again to try some of the other flavors--the cashier said that pistachio was her favorite. read more

FroZenYo is a great motivator to walk back up the hill at the zoo if you're like our family and look at everything from the top down and then schlep back up the hill in the heat, hoping for a spot at a misting station. Beats the liquor store for motivating the tweens. If you're hitting the zoo with a different crowd, there's a tavern a few doors down that might be reviewed. Awesome selection of yogurts and sorbets and toppings. Free hot fudge!! (And caramel, but it doesn't get the same billing) Cheap bottles of water (29 cents), clean serving area and rest room. Convenience, fairly priced, and open late. Fruit offerings were fresh, the yogurt was a little melted, and the folks were nice. I live about 2 minutes away so I'm really happy that it's a good yogurt shop. 0.39 cent per oz is fair and I hope it doesn't change. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of yogurt offered by FroZen Yo. I'm a sucker for creamy, thick frozen yogurt, AND self-serve places, and FroZen Yo definitely had that! There are a good variety of flavors and toppings, which is nice. They offer free hot fudge (which I must admit, is a little funky to eat with yogurt at first, but it grows on you) which is cool. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because of the prices. In FL, I can get the same for about half the price. For you DC'ers, I suspect you're used to the higher prices. Self service yogurt just footsteps from my door is dangerous! This location offers great options including vegan, low sugar, ice cream, gelato or yogurt. I tend to alternate between watermelon sorbet/vanilla in the summer and a cookies and cream and coffee in the summer. The toppings are pretty generic, fruits, cereals, candies, and whip cream. I've seen kids go a bit too mental on the toppings and it really can get quite expensive. Unless you want to pay $10 for a cup of yogurt, supervise. They do offer free hot fudge and caramel, which is yummy. It's right across from the zoo so it can get incredibly busy in the summer and Zoo Lights. Recently they added Boardwalk Fries, tenders, etc., haven't tried those yet. Bottled water is $0.89 which is a great deal. Yum! read more

As a neighborhood resident, I dislike the fact that valuable restaurant/shop space is taken up by a store that is closed for half the year. Some of the flavors include red velvet cake, cheesecake, peanut butter, pistachio and more... plus the frozen yogurt is really creamy here...must say a little on the sweet side. This was the absolutely most perfect was to end a luxurious walk from Van Ness/ Cleveland Park to Adams Morgan. The weather was perfect and the company was nice. FroZenYo here is wonderfully placed across from a bridge-walk and is so bright in the middle of the street you just can't help but go. It was clean, fast, and bright. The best part of the store were all of the fresh toppings such as strawberries, raspberries, and melons, don't forget the almonds. I think about this place every time I want to relax and have calm fun. Also, the prices are great. Smells heavenly! It was strawberry restocking time at FroZen Yo and the smell was intoxicating. It reminded me of my childhood Strawberry Shortcake doll that when squeezed, breathed out a strawberry scent. FroZen Yo offered some new-to-me flavors. My faves were: ~ Red Velvet Cake - scrumptious, and true to the taste ~ Tart Mango - tasted like a sweet tart ~ Peanut Butter - tasted like a nutter butter They offered pound cake as a topping which I have not seen at other frozen yogurt chains. I added a spoon full of strawberries and wished I had gotten more. They tasted as good as they smelled! You can also ladle free hot fudge onto your yogurt after you weigh it. The strawberries and hot fudge combo was divine! I could go back just for a dish of strawberries and hot fudge and perhaps add some pound cake. The price was right! I got a ton of yogurt for $3. I'll definitely be back! Note: there is no seating inside the venue besides the window sill. There are a couple of public benches outside the venue and across the street at the zoo. read more

Fruit quality is/was sometimes lacking but it was better than some of the downtown locations (which are all closed now). Cheap water, solid froyo and a perfect location across from zoo. Love a good self-serve yogurt place. I will say though, the tasting system here is a bit odd. They don't have little sample cups -- you just take the big cup that you're going to use to purchase your froyo, and sample with a spoon. It's great because you can sample as much as you want, but if you get a flavor you don't like, it's in your cup FOREVER. Don't let anyone tell you I don't have a flair for the dramatic... I guess you could dump it out. Overall, the yogurt is great and the topping selection, including fresh fruit options, is usually pretty stellar. Items of note: - Hot fudge is FREE, as in, you add it after you weigh'n'pay. It is also delicious. - Water bottles can be purchased here for a whopping 29 cents. Yup. Omg, I had fallen in live with frozen yogurt till today. I just stopped by before work, by the time I paid and got to my car it was starting to really melt. But I said it's fine, it's still gonna taste good. :(. I was wrong, the consistency of their froyo is not as what I am use to from sweet frog, or the lil froyo place by my house. I used to be a diehard YogiBerry fan, but then I heard this place had a better selection of tart flavors, and the YogiBerry started making their froyo super runny, so I came and tried here! Coming from a city where self-serve froyo chains barely exist, this place was like heaven to me. I was surprised by the number of flavors available and how good they tasted. I got the "safe" flavors: strawberry, lemon and mango topped with marshmallows and kiwi slices. It was freezing on the day that I got my froyo but it was a lot better than anything I've had here in Boston. I'll definitely come back for more if I'm ever in the area again! read more

It's a clean place with nice staff. It can get unorganized with the self-service option, have people cutting or not even making a line for a flavor. Apart from that, the flavors I had which were vanilla, chocolate and cappuccino are delicious (cappuccino flavor had a bad aftertaste).
