Great flavor options! Lists of variety, not just a bunch of different types of chocolate or vanilla. Employees are super nice

5.11.25: After having late lunch next door, I noticed this ice cream shop and decided to check it…read moreout. I was amazed how huge this place was and it had more than just ice cream! There were a vast variety of gourmet chocolates and handmade caramel apples. There was so much to choose from that I wanted it all and knew I'd have to come back. Service was outstanding and bummed I didn't catch the employee's name who helped us. She was really nice, patient, informative, and knowledgeable. Although they didn't have the two choices of ice cream I wanted--there were so many more flavors to choose from and I wasn't disappointed at all. So here's what I got: -Double scoop in a cup: one scoop of Fat Elvis and one scoop of Superman. Fat Elvis had a great banana taste that wasn't too overpowering and the peanut butter balanced it well and the chocolate chips gave each bite a good crunch. The Superman is a blend of three different ice creams, which oddly reminded me of bubble gum ice cream from the ice cream truck as a kid, but even better. Hard to describe but tasty if you're looking for something sweet versus chocolatey. -Caramel Apple Pie caramel apple (unsliced). They offer to cut it up if you want, which is nice. I waited until I got home since I was having ice cream. The apple was so yummy! The apple itself was tart and sweet, the sweet white confection coating was tasty but not sure if it was supposed to resemble the crust of apple pie but nonetheless still great, and the added cinnamon sugar gave it it's apple pie touch. -The Gold Digger Caramel Marshmallow: it was a marshmallow on a stick dipped in caramel, then rolled into rice krispie cereal, then dipped in chocolate to finish it off. I enjoyed this and liked how the cereal gave it a crunch and balanced out the sweetness of the marshmallow. All in all, I love that I discovered this place and can't wait to come back for more ice cream and try a handful of other different treats!

The cheapest place to get cans of Cougar Cheese…read more Their hours are limited but we sometimes manage to stop by. Sometimes I get ice cream but usually I'm there to get a small bag of Cougar Cheese or cans of it to give to friends/family we plan to visit. They're $30 per can there (last I checked) and normally $40+ anywhere else (even in Pullman). I often feel like I'm remembering the price incorrectly so I try to pay check on it (both at Ferdinand's and at random stores). I think I saw cans "on sale" for about $50 at a grocery store in Redmond, WA once. They also ship the cheese cans during the colder months but online they're currently $33 (per 30 oz can) + shipping. Tip: WSU's Sensory Science Center is super close by and often needs panelists for food and beverage (including alcohol) studies. They usually thank participants with Ferdinand's gift cards (usually $5-10 but sometimes more) so most of our visits are immediately after participating in a study. They don't have panelist studies every day/week so it's best to get on their email list.

Fabulous array of breakfast, lunch, and beverage options. I tried the "Mediterranean" sandwich. Loved it. The sandwich is a turkey, artichoke heart, sun-dried tomatoes, feta, and tomato mayo on focaccia bun. Everything on the sandwich was a compliment to the other. Usually you don't get a lot of comments about buns, but this one was outstanding. The sandwich also comes with red onions, but I took a pass on those also. I guess this place is also known for its pastries. They had a bunch to choose from, but seeing as how it was lunch, we took a hall pass... next time! It seems they also offer a lot of specialty homemade juice and coffee drinks. It was late mid morning, but there was a decent size crowd. The guy taking your order was super friendly and helpful, There looked to be only one girl in back, making the sandwiches Our order came out in about five minutes. There's options to sit inside and out. It was a gorgeous day so we chose out. They give you these awesome chips which I guess are some local thing. They also give you what appears to be an eggplant pickled complement to the meal. I did find this to be very vinegary. Overall experience was outstanding!

The food is pricey for the portions and quality. I've always been more hungry than satisfied, after eating here. The service is usually friendly, but more strict than a Starbucks. I don't get why there's a no outdoor food/drink policy. Starbucks doesn't care so why do they? I brought in an outdoor drink and was told immediately that wasn't allowed. I felt bad enough to buy a muffin, even though I didn't want one. I'd rather support Starbucks than this business. I want to relax and connect with people, when I go out to restaurants or businesses. I wouldn't come back for the vibes or the food. I'll be meeting friends at Starbucks next time.
