Once I walked in I regretted that we weren't having breakfast here! Everything that people were eating looked delicious. But alas, coffees only. Loved the Gail salad - ordered the small portion and it was the right size for a brunch item. I will say that service can be a smidge spotty but everyone was so kind and we were in no rush, so it all worked out. Perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth. They had plenty of seasonal items. I loved the selection and ultimately went with the Lemon Strawberry Pound Cake. It was the right balance between sweet & savory. I loved the recommendation. It paired perfectly with the Havana latte which was on the savory or bitter side. We also tried the Danish that was recommended by our server Riley who knew the best selections. We loved the peace and quiet in the establishment from crazy busy Broadway. My wife and I sent to Frothy Monkey - The Nations on Sunday, September 27th for breakfast. We went there because we knew we could get a good cup of coffee. However, the food was a colossal dissapointment. The sausgage patties were not fresh at all. I believe had been cooked and refigerated only to be reheated and consequently had the texture of polenta without any flavor. They were black in color. My biscuit was the same. Cooked previsouly only to be reheated but not warm enough to melt the butter served upon it. Other FM locations might be better, but we will not attempt to find out. read more

We were visiting Nashville and decided to try this place out. It was ok. I thought it would've been better with all the hype. We could barely eat the sourdough bread our breakfast came on because it was soooooo hard. The dish I ordered was supposed to have balsamic vinegar and feta on it and it was missing. Our server didn't come back around for a good 15 minutes so we just ate our meal as it was. The espresso martinis are tiny. The service was mediocre. I don't see what the hype is all about. Super cute coffee shop and cafe. Coffee was all incredible and they have some really creative flavor options like rosemary honey. The small salad was fresh and the dressings seemed homemade. Wait was longer than expected but worth it. Also took quite some time for food to come out. Turtle latte was good but didn't have the flavor described. Pros: Communicative and friendly staff: When we arrived, we were told there'd be a wait because the kitchen was overwhelmed. So while there were plenty of open tables, the team was trying to manage the order volume. We opted to wait and meanwhile ordered coffees from their to-go counter. The counter staff and our eventual table server were all good natured. Delicious coffee and food: Our to-go coffees were all delicious. Once we were seated, I ordered a cortado that was absolutely phenomenal and served with a crisp water (not flat but not super sparkling.) We ordered a flight of biscuits to start our brunch and we were all sad that we didn't order more. Around the table, we ordered two different omelettes and two bagel sandwiches. There were many mmms and yums to be heard. The ingredients were fresh and the eggs were cooked perfectly (no sliminess to be found.) Clean and not too loud: For an open room with a lot of hard surfaces, the noise level was tolerable We had a good conversation without having to yell to be heard. The establishment was comfortably clean without being antiseptic. In other words, no weird bleach smells and also no dirty smears or crumbs. Yay! Cons: None. I would eat here everyday if I could! For starters, they had a new coffee today called "s'more than a feeling" which came with a toasted marshmallow and tasted exactly like being by a campfire. The iced turtle latte was so good, there was not a drop left of either of our coffees. Onto the food. The biscuits and gravy were a 10/10, such good flavor and super filling. The breakfast potatoes were so thick and delicious, you didn't really need any condiments to dip them in. The California breakfast had 0 food left on the plate after we were done. Our server was awesome, super friendly and helpful with all of our questions. We came around 8:15 on a Saturday morning, and by the time we were leaving was when they started to get busy. While in Nashville our goal was to visit various coffee places around! This one had high reviews so we knew it was a must! Cute little place! We walked right in and sat right now and we were greeted right away. If you don't want to eat they have a coffee bar you can order from to go! I ordered the Monkey Mocha with almond milk...absolutely delicious!!! The lady next to us had a delicious looking breakfast so we ordered the same...California! Came on a Monday around 12:30 and was quoted a 40min wait for three people but ended up waiting only 5 min! I think we hit the end of the lunch rush. The space isn't huge and we actually saw a larger group decide to not eat there since they were going to split them up into groups of 4. You can sit down and at but they also have a counter where you can order just drinks and pastries. I got the biscuit sandwich with homemade pimento cheese and ham. The size was actually a little smaller than I was thinking it would be and it came out on a salad plate (see picture). Unfortunately this was a bit of a let down. The pimento cheese was delish. But the biscuit was a little stodgy and the ham was straight SALT. Like... Eating salt. Definitely overpowered all the other flavors. I ended up removing over half of it from my sandwich. Others in my group got the brisket sandwich, good flavor and not as fatty of a cut of brisket which was nice. And a huge serving of potato wedges on the side that were well made. Another person got the Royale which is essentially a turkey sandwich. She said she enjoyed it and it felt like a lighter sandwich which is what she wanted. read more

Long wait times for a cup of coffee. I went early in the morning and ordered an iced monkey mocha with Oatmilk. I placed my order and waited 21 minutes to finally get my cup of coffee. Once I received it I was disappointed in the flavor, I didn't get any taste of banana and all of the chocolate sunk to the bottom. While I was drinking the coffee I started noticing chunks of separation between the Oatmilk and the coffee, which left a weird texture in my mouth. Heard this was a great place to grab breakfast in the area, I couldn't begin to imagine why it was so busy until I remembered it was a Saturday morning right before brunch time. The staff was very friendly even though they were busy which is important. I ordered the Loaded Biscuit with Chorizo Gravy online. Instead of having to wait 20 minutes for a table and even longer for my food to be brought out, I just had to wait 30 minutes for my food. The food was very underwhelming. When I come to the south I want BIG flavors. These flavors were just okay. The dish also really lacked some crunch, something to break up all of the softness and creaminess. Was told there was a five to ten minute wait for a table despite the vast majority of the tables being empty. Ordered drinks while waiting for table and found them adequate but nothing to write home about. The menu had a sparse amount of choices and many of them being basic. The fruit I ordered came to me limp and dehydrated. It wasn't fresh. The pastry I ordered also was not fresh and I barely ate it. My friend ordered a dish with kale. They forgot to put it on and rather than remaking the dish as they should she was served oily kale on the side. There was an apology but it would have been nice of the item was removed from the bill. I was interested in purchasing coffee beans and was told that they may or may not be able to be ground after purchase. Nothing about this experience was polished. read more
