Had dinner at Frothy Monkey on my last night in Nashville, and it was wonderful! I was so chickened out from eating so much Nashville hot chicken that I was craving fish/non-meat for my last meal, and Frothy Monkey had a very extensive dinner menu. I was debating between the Shrimp & Grits or Salmon & Quinoa, and ended up ordering the latter. The salmon is pan-seared on a bed of quinoa, raw red onions, and sun-dried tomatoes. I didn't care for the raw red onions, but the salmon was cooked perfectly and all of the ingredients tasted very fresh. I ended up ordering an iced Chai latte with skim milk to-go at the end of my meal, which was pretty tasty. read more

I will say that service can be a smidge spotty but everyone was so kind and we were in no rush, so it all worked out. Pros: Communicative and friendly staff: When we arrived, we were told there'd be a wait because the kitchen was overwhelmed. So while there were plenty of open tables, the team was trying to manage the order volume. We opted to wait and meanwhile ordered coffees from their to-go counter. The counter staff and our eventual table server were all good natured. Delicious coffee and food: Our to-go coffees were all delicious. Once we were seated, I ordered a cortado that was absolutely phenomenal and served with a crisp water (not flat but not super sparkling.) We ordered a flight of biscuits to start our brunch and we were all sad that we didn't order more. Around the table, we ordered two different omelettes and two bagel sandwiches. There were many mmms and yums to be heard. The ingredients were fresh and the eggs were cooked perfectly (no sliminess to be found.) Clean and not too loud: For an open room with a lot of hard surfaces, the noise level was tolerable We had a good conversation without having to yell to be heard. The establishment was comfortably clean without being antiseptic. In other words, no weird bleach smells and also no dirty smears or crumbs. Yay! Cons: None. Perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth. They had plenty of seasonal items. I loved the selection and ultimately went with the Lemon Strawberry Pound Cake. It was the right balance between sweet & savory. I loved the recommendation. It paired perfectly with the Havana latte which was on the savory or bitter side. We also tried the Danish that was recommended by our server Riley who knew the best selections. We loved the peace and quiet in the establishment from crazy busy Broadway. We stopped in before a TPAC show since it was right around the corner! We were seated right away and our food came out very fast. I had the salmon sandwich and actually got it on sourdough instead of a bun. It was pretty good! I don't think I'd order it again, but it was superior to Subway and a good choice for something quick. It's pretty nice inside; and they have a counter for to-go orders, as well. Pretty cool they have coffee & pastries, but also full sit-down brunch and dinner menus, too. read more

The service was 10/10! They were very accommodating. I had the Andouille & Pimento Cheese Biscuit and the biscuit, egg, and andoullie were all really good. I think the pimento cheese was a bit too much and they laid it on thick. but that's just my preference. The cortado was also pretty good. read more

I would eat here everyday if I could! For starters, they had a new coffee today called "s'more than a feeling" which came with a toasted marshmallow and tasted exactly like being by a campfire. The iced turtle latte was so good, there was not a drop left of either of our coffees. Onto the food. The biscuits and gravy were a 10/10, such good flavor and super filling. I was really disappointed in my avocado toast. It was not toasted at all. The egg was cooked over medium and looked perfect but was cold, which I still can't figure out. Went to this place based on all of the wonderful reviews and was disappointed across the board. Was told there was a five to ten minute wait for a table despite the vast majority of the tables being empty. Ordered drinks while waiting for table and found them adequate but nothing to write home about. The menu had a sparse amount of choices and many of them being basic. The fruit I ordered came to me limp and dehydrated. It wasn't fresh. The pastry I ordered also was not fresh and I barely ate it. My friend ordered a dish with kale. They forgot to put it on and rather than remaking the dish as they should she was served oily kale on the side. There was an apology but it would have been nice of the item was removed from the bill. I was interested in purchasing coffee beans and was told that they may or may not be able to be ground after purchase. Nothing about this experience was polished. read more

The lattes were amazing, I had the Havana latte and it was one of the best lattes I've ever had. I didn't feel there was many (especially not unique) breakfast options and they were good and cooked well but nothing I'd necessarily return for. We also stopped by for early evening drinks one day during our trip and the charcuterie plate was also tasty. Long wait times for a cup of coffee. I went early in the morning and ordered an iced monkey mocha with Oatmilk. I placed my order and waited 21 minutes to finally get my cup of coffee. Once I received it I was disappointed in the flavor, I didn't get any taste of banana and all of the chocolate sunk to the bottom. While I was drinking the coffee I started noticing chunks of separation between the Oatmilk and the coffee, which left a weird texture in my mouth. They basically treated me like an inconvenience, since it was just me. They sat me at this crap little table in the back and had around 4 different people wait on me who were all rude and could be bothered with any polite conversation. Not one person asked how my food was, would I like anything else, nothing! They legit just put the food on the table and ran. Besides the service the food was abysmal!!! Food came out within 3 mins of me ordering it, which tells me it was not fresh. It was clear they just wanted me to eat and leave! The gravy was discussing and cold.
