I was hooked into their somewhat competitive pricing but was blindsided with a $150 installation cost with Frontier. Initially they said there was no need for a service tech to come out and install a line, but it was a bait and switch. All this for a very slow 6 mbps DSL line with constant outages, because Frontier did not want to invest in a high speed line at my complex like Spectrum did. One of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. And to add insult to injury, they had a random phone number assigned to my account instead of my real one, which made account management a nightmare. With them, it is truly until death do you part. I'm paying for high speed WiFi, which isn't even available in my area. Now, my landline hasn't worked in months. No dial tone. Finally, after being laid off from covid, I have the hours it will take to deal with this. And, true to form, just spent 1/2 hr on hold only to be hung up on. I have been a Frontier wifi customer and use their internet since October 2019. I have always relied on Frontier and recommended their service to my friends and people who need internet services. Well not anymore. As someone said in their review they're good to the new customers but their old customers who have been with them they don't seem to care about. I have tried since Saturday night after Thanksgiving to get my internet up and running again to no avail. I contact Frontier on Sunday, Monday , Wednesday and the earliest they claimed they would come out to fix the box was December 1st! I use my internet to boost my phone so that my heart monitor implant works properly and registers in my doctor's office. I explained this numerous times over the course of four days to Frontier Representatives, how important depending, working Wi-Fi is and how it is essential for medical necessities such as my implant. All I got was lies; false promises that they would come out sooner however still they have not showed up and I have had no Wi-fi since Saturday night November 26th. I have gone since November 26th till December 1st, without internet access through Frontier. I am not counting on them showing up today even . When I spoke to a representative last night after 5:00 they hung up on me . That's not good customer service in my book. I would not recommend Frontier for families because of the unreliable repair service. I had my girlfriend wait in my apartment all day. The only requirement for installation. The installer Michael showed up and refused to go up to my unit because I couldn't answer the phone. Even when security offered to take him up he refused and said if I didn't answer he wasn't going to the unit, not a requirement when I made my appointment. He also said it was his last call and he wanted to go home anyway. I called multiple times after I got off work t 6 and he never answer is phone or retuned my calls. My landline telephone had been out of service for over 10 days. I called on earlier in the week to report the problem. They told me that a service man would arrive today between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. At 9:45 am, Victor from Frontier arrived. It took 45 minutes for him to locate and correct them problem in this 1950s house. I am happy to report that my telephone service has been restored, and I am no longer limited to my iPhone for making calls from home. Thank you, Victor, for a job well done. read more

BY FAR THE WORST RUN INTERNET COMPANY IN MY EXPERIENCE. I ordered service back in December 2022 and as of January 16 2023, I still don't have service. It started with the GSI contractors needing to come and run the drop from the sidewalk up to the house and that went miserably. The first contractor came and just put the box and coiled up cable in the box without running it to the house. The frontier tech then came out the following day on his scheduled appointment day but could not do anything because the drop was not completed properly by the GSI contractor. We had to re-schedule everything. GSI contractors were scheduled to come the following Monday, they did not show up. I waited on Tuesday and they still didn't come. I called in to the frontier and they said dispatch would not provide an answer to their message on when they would be showing up. I had to go back to work on Wednesday as I can't just sit on my ass waiting for people to come when they aren't scheduled to come. On Wednesday, the GSI contractors show up and dig up and bury the line but i wasn't there to verify or even check the work to make sure it was done properly. I went ahead and called frontier to schedule the tech to come out again and set the appointment for the following monday. Appointment shows in my frontier app that a tech is scheduled to arrive between 8-12pm, 1pm comes and no tech shows up to complete the install. I call in to frontier and their CS rep says no tech was assigned the ticket. Why does the app say one thing and their system say another? When the drop was completed by GSI, i even got a text that the drop was completed. The sunday before the frontier tech install, i get a text saying that the line drop is still pending on my address. WHAT?! Obviously the systems and communication between GSI and Frontier are extremely poor and doesn't work. These are all red flags of the potential quality of service you are about to get with frontier...POOR SERVICE. I called in to ask if they could send a tech out the day it was scheduled because i can't just keep taking days off to wait at home to get this install done. The earliest they said they could get another tech is the following week. That would be almost a month from when i placed the order to even get service up and running and that's a *maybe* because given all thats happened already, i'm pretty confident something else would've gone wrong. Although i was looking forward to having a new service with potentially faster speeds, given all the headaches and obviously a poorly run company throughout, i'll stick with spectrum and rest knowing my service is consistent and i'll pay a little more to deal with no headaches. After he claimed it was too dangerous to run the cords under the house like all of our other lines he ran the line along the wall. Not only did they not tell him he was signing a 2-year contract with Dish; they did not send him any paperwork at all. Overcharged him they did and treated him very disrespectfully. My mom and little brother recently passed away from cancer. So I'm moving and selling our family home and moved into a condo and I made an appointment the week 1 st week of October to get connected with a phone and internet at the new place. They gave me an appointment for Friday, October 11th, I told them I needed it for the afternoon... so I get a text stating that they will show up between 9am-1pm. I immediately called and changed it to that after noon between 1-4pm. They Thursday before I get a text showing the wrong time, so I call again to make sure they are coming out between 1-4pm on that Friday. They assured me that he was. Well, the technician came in the morning when I wasn't there and said everything is done, left the modem on my door step. I called and said he was supposed to come in the afternoon. They couldn't get him back there cause he stated it was complete. So I had to reschedule and they gave me Tuesday, October 15th between 1-5pm. TODAY! So, when I woke up for my Appointment with 3 Days blinds (they showed up when they were supposed to BTW) I noticed from Frontier a text saying the technician was working on it... I was like what? When I opened the door for 3 Day blinds I notice another modem on my door step. So the text was at 10:30am and I was asleep due to working late. 3 Day blinds to arrive at 11:30am and Frontier to arrive between 1-5pm. So I called again... the technician said he completed the work and came NOT AT THE SCHEDULE TIME BUT IN THE MORNING!!!!! He closed the order and now they want me to reschedule this appointment because they can't get someone out here on the time they gave me TWICE!!!!!!! Such POOR service, the worst EVER!!!!! Both times I made arrangements to be here at the times we book it for. The 2nd technician said I wasn't home? When I was and he/she didn't ring the door bell!!!!!! DON'T US FRONTIER!!!! My promotion special was due to expired in September so in June I called and asked if there was an early termination fee if cancelled my service and only got internet. They told me no so I was told that I was going to pay $45.99 plus the taxed for internet only. They charge me $75 installation fee because I was upgrading the internet service, what they didn't tell me was that the special rate was only going to be for 3 months. Now my rate is higher and the internet still sucks. I called and they pretty much said too bad. So I decided to cancel my service with them. Let's take it back to the beginning, I originally was going to go with spectrum (which I should of for 125/ mo with taxes and fees included and all the channels I requested) but decided to shop around. I called frontier communication where I was offered a better rate and faster Internet 500/500 at a much cheaper price @ $90 out the door with all the channels I requested MTV, BET, Disney, Oxygen, and Nickelodeon (even though this company was charging an outrageous amount for installation 75$ plus 9.99). The installer came to my apartment and was there almost 4 hours before saying that he didn't have the information to go ahead and set up my account he then left and called to come back within 30 minutes to finish setting up. To find out I had the same channels I could get with my bunny ears antenna as Cable. I am mediately called a sales representative where he stated that he was completing a CLL form for an escalation and will have corporate call me back within the next five business days. Five days had went by I decided to call back and the representative now told me that no escalation form has been filed and she would be filing one. Again I waited another five days where I was getting bills but no response from corporate. I decided to call again on a Sunday where I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor, the gentlemen on the phone informed me that the supervisor was out to lunch. As he thought I was on hold I could hear his whole conversation with "the supervisor". He then got back on the line and I asked him who he was talking to, he said the supervisor. I politely asked to speak with her, he said I had a contact corporate. At the end he said thank you have a great day and hung up as I was still talking. I called back again the following business day and spoke to a representative who sent me to the Retention department. I spoke with the lady who stated that she would remove installment fees and offered me $108 a month before taxes. I was so grateful even though I didn't get the price I was honored to finally get some closure. I thought this was the end, little did I know this is just the beginning. I received a new bill in the mail for $187, *thinks to self this isn't right. I called again and speak with Jessica who said she's going to go ahead and have the call pulled again since I've already had it pulled before to see what was offered to me. She gave me a timeframe to when I should have a call back and stated that she will set a reminder to call me back even if or if I didn't hear from corporate. The timeframe passes by and still nothing from either corporate or Jessica. Today February 13 I decided to call again to see what was happening with my bill. A call and immediately asked to speak to retention where Anthony answered the phone and said I will give you my supervisor. Marcus Who is the supervisor in the retention department stated that I was never offered $108 but would not pull the call either, he said he would not pull the call because there's no way that he can honor that price to me and that I was basically lying for saying that I was offered that amount he begins having an argument with me over the phone where I feel I was treated very unfairly with this male screaming at me! What kind a joke is this as I think to myself! this man has no customer service skills so I asked to speak to his manager he basically tells me I'm at the top of the line and there's nobody else that I can speak with. I then let Marcus know that he can just cancel everything I don't want this service, I don't want their bill, I don't want anything. He said I don't care if you don't pay your bill you're going to collections not me, and laughed at me. I informed him that I would be going to higher management to have the call pulled and he said good luck with that. I spent 3 days trying to get my internet box replaced. It was 15 years old. None of the CS people I spoke too would go "off script". They insisted that I needed to replace the battery. I said the box is 15 years old and there is no door to the battery compartment. I would have to smash the box. Not one CS listened to me. Not one. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they refused to transfer me. We went round & round... they saying I need to replace the battery, me saying there isn't any way to get to the battery, they either not understanding or not believing me. One CS actually suggested that I take the box to a hardware store and THEY would replace the battery for me!! SRSLY??? Do you get your jollies off making me look like a fool to strangers at the hardware store??? Why would z hardware store employee be responsible for changing a battery? Frontier clearly thinks I'm pretty stupid because almost everybody knows how to change batteries... if you can get to them. Well, too bad. I didn't go. Instead I cancelled my service. Oh!! I almost forgot the kicker!! When I cancelled, they said they would send a box, within a week, so I could mail back the equipment. I waited a month and then called to inquire about the box. I have a small online business in an older warehouse complex in the San Gabriel Valley. I had no choice to go with Frontier and the Wi-Fi service is absolutely horrible all we can do with their miserable service is print labels. We spoke with Frontier and inquired if there was anything we can do about the poor reception and we were told "oh sure, we can send a tech out and they can run a line that would only be ours to use blah blah blah" We were instructed to sigh a contract for them to come without them even knowing it could be done. Their techs are rude, untimely arrivals. When we were informed how much it was going to cost we canceled because it was way to expensive and honestly it was something that the owners should have been doing for the tenants. We would have been paying for the entire warehouse complex to have better Wi-Fi. Well, because we signed a contract they are holding us to it, which I don't have a problem paying for the initial tech to come out to determine all that it would have entailed but these SHADY THIEVES want to charge us for equipment that was never installed and hours that were paid to a tech. Absolutely robbery! What has happened to companies having integrity and honesty? They are just out to screw as many people over as possible. As far as I'm concerned, if I'm being charged for equipment then it's mine. But I received no response other than "you owe us for these charges cause you signed the contract. They took total advantage of the situation. THE WORST!!! Even when it was working, my frontier wi-fi was erratic and spotty and NOT cheap ($67 per mo). Then it went down completely. On two separate days I waited at home for the technician who was supposed to call when he/she was on the way. Twice no shows and no calls. After several calls to tech support, I was assured the tech was "on the way". LIES! To top it off, at 5:30pm on the second day, I called AGAIN and was told another whopper: supposedly, the technician had come but the problem was in the line outside and a different tech was needed who was coming on Monday, when I was assured, my internet would be fixed. I'll give you three guesses as to what happened......BINGO.....still no tech OR internet. Back on the phone for the umpteenth time and scheduled again for a another week away! To be fair, they gave me an $80 credit which, under the circumstances was nowhere near enough. If I had a dollar for each time someone said "We're very sorry for the inconvenience", I could retire, and yet nothing is done to rectify the situation. The first year I had them it was great. Now that my contract is up there customer service and internet service is terrible. I got an offer to renew my contract in an email. When I called to renew the "Loyalty Support" I spoke with was rude and unhelpful. They told me my rate had now doubled and did not want to keep me on as a customer and told me to call back at the end of the month to cancel if I want to switch. First excuse was a storm. That was last week. I had to call again and I was told that service was restored. No service had not been restored! I wanted to switch from Spectrum to Frontier for my internet service. I called their company and made an appointment for today to have my Frontier fiber optic internet service installed. The installer showed up and was extremely rude from the start. He never introduced himself and immediately asked me if I had gotten permission from my neighbor to gain access to their back yard so he could pull the fiber optic line from their electrical pole into my yard. I explained to him that I was never made aware that I was to do that nor do I know my neighbor well enough to ask. He then had me show him where I wanted to have my line installed into my house. I showed him where the old Spectrum line was and asked if it could be installed in the exact same place. He immediately told me that he can't touch their line and advised me that I had to call them first to remove their line before he could install the new line. I told him once again that Frontier never advised me to do that and that I had already called Spectrum to cancel my service and all they wanted back was their modem. At this point, I could tell that this guy was in a bad mood and was doing everything he could to get out of installing my internet. I confronted him about his attitude and told him that if he doesn't like his job, don't take it out on the customer. I then explained to him that I was going to call Frontier and file a complaint against him and cancel my service with Frontier. He immediately changed his attitude and miraculously stated that he would be able to do the job exactly as I had asked. At this point I didn't trust that I would be getting the best service and if this was the start of my experience with frontier, what was the future going to hold moving forward. I advised the installer that due to his attitude, I was going to cancel the install and file a complaint against him while canceling my service with Frontier. Without saying a word, he got in his vehicle and drove off. I called Frontier's customer service and explained what had happened. They could care less and just asked if I wanted to cancel my service completely. Obviously, they must have so many customers, I didn't seem to matter. When I asked to file a complaint against the installer the woman said that she would take the information but then before I could give her any, she hung up on me. This should be a huge warning to anyone considering Frontier as their provider. I will never use Frontier for anything and will make sure to advise all of my friends and family to do the same. read more

I'm so glad Frontier isn't my cell phone provider; otherwise I would be an 83-year-old women with NO connection to the outside world during the coronavirus pandemic. I talked to NINE different employees for THREE HOURS to get service restored. I was told that the OLD service had to be disconnected before the NEW service could be installed. I don't believe that. Also told the new service would be $119.98 per month, which I DID believe until another customer service rep told me that it would be $174.98 per month. Terrible company - it's a real incentive to cut the cable, sign up for streaming service, toss the landline, and look for a decent company to provide internet service. read more

We're do I start. First they ran a line to my neighbors house. They literally layed it on my fence line because the installer couldn't admit that it was at least a 3 man job to have it go from the telephone post through the tree branches. So he just ran it along my neighbors and my wall so that I could literally pick it up and move it. Then I called for my service because I really wanted the faster speed that fiber optic provides. The installer showed up and I informed him that I wanted the wire to follow the existing telephone lines that are about 12 feet up. I showed him my neighbors optic line and how ridiculous low it was. He then suggests that I should just CUT THE LINE so my neighbor would have to call frontier for them to fix it ( MAJOR RED FLAG). He then ran my line at the proper height. But it was getting very dark and I asked him if he could finish tomorrow. I didn't want him getting hurt trying to install a line from the post to the house. He agreed. He came back the next day and finished. I had internet for a whole hour before the system crashed. Called Frontier took them 2days to send someone one out. He couldn't find the problem. Hours later he informed me that he pretty sure what it was. The first installer SPLICED the line 20feet from my house.He ran short of line. If you don't know YOU DON'T SPLICE FIBER OPTIC LINE'S. You lose speed and wind rain etc can cause you to lose a connection. Which made sense to me because the guy who installed for told me that i might experience some drops or inconsistent speed.... Ya that's what he told me he knew what he did was wrong and he was trying to cover his bad installation job. Ok almost done. So this new guy tells me he wouldn't even have ran a optic line because of all the branches in the way. And my neighbor you know the one with the line sitting on the wall that anyone could just grab without effort was going to have issues. He then tells me he can't repair my line because my neighbors 2 house's down weren't home. That's right I've had Frontier come onto my property and my neighbors property just to run a line to your house and if there not home expect another delay. Finally I told him look I informed your dispatcher that this was at least a 3 man job because of all the reasons he just mentioned which they would not HAVE TO DO. Now that turned into another 7day delay. And now I received a txt from Frontier saying they will have to bury my line to finish the installation. They can't even run a line from a one telephone post across 3 properties to another telephone post to my house without issues now they want to bury a line. Needless to say I've cancelled my service with Frontier. It's been a inconvenience to me and my neighbors. I hope you read this and make your decision. I have been paying for internet service for the last 2 months because I was supposed to have had internet 2 months ago. Frontier only sent the equipment but never went to trouble shoot the problem. I waited 1 and a half months for them and kept making appointments but they never showed up. Their excuse was that someone had canceled the appointment. 3 times they told me that same lie. Now I am waiting for a refund and I just gota bill from them telling me that it's service for a partial month of service. How is that if I never had my internet turned on? Worst service ever.
