By my own admission, I've got to be the biggest fool on the face of the earth. I've threatened to leave Frontier for several years now, and today they pushed me over the edge. At 10:00 AM, 4/12/22, I discovered the cable, from the utility pole across the street, to my house was hanging across the street approximately 10 feet off the ground. I called Frontier, and stayed outside directing traffic around the wire. Today was trash day so I stayed there for a very long time because the trash trucks would not clear the cable unless they were close to the curb on the opposite side of the street. If a Fed Ex or UPS truck were to come down the street they wouldn't clear it either. I told the rep at Frontier it was a safety hazard and he told me I had to call 811 to determine it was their cable and not another companies, and if they came out and it wasn't their cable I'd be charged. I informed him that I pay them for my service and if they didn't come out soon I'd cut the cable to prevent damage to my house or a vehicle. By the way, 811 is for dig alert, not for suspended cables. When I told him I was going to cut the cable and end my service the dumbass transferred me to Customer Retention. The person I spoke with then was very pleasant, put me on hold and was speaking to the same idiot I had previously talked to. She came back online and told me she couldn't make any headway with him either, even telling him she would cancel any fees, just send someone, he said no, he wouldn't do it. She finally called someone else and was told there was a tech in the area and when he was free he would come right over. At 2:00 PM no one had show up. I called Frontier again and spoke with another idiot. I told her three times what the issue was, it was a safety hazard, and I was getting tired of standing in the street and directing traffic. She set me up with an appointment for Thursday, 2 days later, between 1 & 5. I hung up on this dumbass and called the Redondo Beach PD, the dispatcher said she would notify the Fire Dept. Within 10 minutes the FD showed up, put up a ladder, secured the cable with zip ties I provided, and were gone within 15 minutes. Hats off to these guys for their assistance and professionalism. I've just paid my last bill to Frontier. They truly are the worst company I've ever dealt with and their customer service sucks. GOODBYE read more

Several months ago we had to move my wife's father from his house in Long Beach to an assisted living home, and then put his now empty house on the market. Naturally, we had to discontinue his Frontier ISP service at the residence. WHAT A NIGHTMARE for my poor wife: "Whew, every step is torture. I have been trying to close the Verizon/Frontier ISP at Dad's house since January. I sent them the Power of Attorney forms on March 10. I called today to talk to them and close the account with all of the proper information. "I still got a run around," they don't yet have the forms", "they need to talk to dad" [who cannot communicate too well]. I "need to talk to the "Retention" Department (that tells you what they want to do even though it makes no sense)." It finally took a combination of me threatening and being on the brink of tears to actually get someone to close the account." Less than one star?? YES! If you are within their service area PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP. I have had nothing but problems from the get go with Frontier, and I will be switching to Spectrum (which may or may not be any better). From the day they were supposed to set up my service (which i stayed home all day for), the technician said they came to the door and no one answered, which was BS because I was in my living room waiting all day. My guess is they didn't feel like setting up my service that day because it was pouring rain. When I spoke to customer service about this they said they would credit my account for the inconvenience, but no credit was ever given and I gave up on getting one about 3 months into my service. Over the course of less than 2 years my package has lost several channels due to "contract negotiations", and yet the price of my package has remained the same. I don't know about you, but when you are getting less, I think you should pay less. Every time I have ever called customer service it has been "we're sorry, but it is what it is." Also when you do decide to cancel, if it is in the middle of a month you paid for they do not prorate the rest of the month at all basically stealing from you. this was the top of all worse service of humankind I upgraded my WIFI from 75/75 to 500/500. and I could not tell the difference and have a dead spot, WIFI still drop off during my meeting. I called support, I asked the the 1st lady "what is my WIFI speed right now on my service" the answer was" What did you pay for is what you are getting" and the call disconnected. the 2nd call was answered by Dominnico, He insisted to educate me how WIFI and internet works, and insisted the problem came from house, did not want to provide any solutions. only if I agreed with him. which I did not. I kept asking him that router I have been using for more than 10 years and time to update it. The solutions Dominnico provided me were: 1. I SHOULD BUY MY OWN ROUTER, because all companies don't provide proper routers. 2. I need to contact Microsoft The computer manufactory to resolve the issue. other than that no solutions from him, because I did not understand how WIFI and Internet works. and I am a network engineer. I did not choose this service it was purchased from Verizon who I had no issues. During the change many years ago I was without service stayed home 4 times waiting for the service call was told they were on the way never arrived . With any takeover there are glitches and I understand and was compensated. Being a 8 years customer my bill increased over $30.00 this year for same service . I three times changed the services to get the bill down (I was told the promotion was over ) . All 3 calls did not get put in effect .During one of the call I was told I would be given a upgrade due being a long time customer . Today spoke with supervisor not much help I was lied to about the free upgrade they no longer offer the previous internet speed . Also she was unable to honor the past quotes from the 3 previous employees . I have no idea why so many bad reviews appear on this site...maybe because that's the only time people write stuff on these places - just to complain. But I've had Frontier service for my internet service for, I don't know, 10 years maybe? Whenever they put in the FIOS service anyway - however long that's been. In all that time, I've had not one complaint. My service runs flawlessly. It's never gone down any time I needed it, and it's always there whenever I do need it - day, night, middle of the night -- seriously, whenever. It consistently has been available for me, the speed is awesome, I couldn't ask for better or faster speed, and the quality is pretty perfect. I can't advise on customer service, like when you have a problem and need to talk to somebody, cause I've never had a problem so I didn't need to talk to anybody. I had to work from home for the Department of Justice during Covid, and there was never not even one tick of downtime due to service. Pretty impressive as far as I'm concerned! I'll just say I'm really grateful and super happy with this service. Companies and service like this run few and far between, and I'm so happy and consider myself tremendously blessed to be a customer. I have been with them since they were Verizon. No problems. Recently, I upgraded my Internet Speed to 500/500. They sent me a Router. I called Billing and asked to return the Router because I don't like the extra $10 on my Bill. They said OK, we'll send you a Box with UPS Label. A week later, I see that they received the Router, and I call in to confirm that the Charge to be removed. The Rep said nope. Charge stays. Frontier said it was an issue with my personal service and the next available tech was on a Tuesday, I called them on a Saturday! I have been using Frontier since 2019. In that time, there have been two outages which only lasted until the next day. No internet about 4 times but back on track within an hour. Customer service has aways exercised patience, courtesy and always, always had my problem solved or explained. They are more reasonably priced than other places when doing a price comparison. There are going to times in our lives where things go awry, I, myself have to remind myself of this and learn patience also, and the customer service never once had a condescending tone or lectured me. Probably because they can understand the frustrations. Unlike other customer service reps who are younger and take everything personally and then spend 10 minutes of your time lecturing on being polite. Sometimes I can't be polite because I have been given a run around for days but I am not swearing, the customer rep should not be answering phones if she can't deal with people who are not in a happy mood. Instead of lecturing someone about social etiquette give the customer something to be happy about. Usually, an angry customer is unhappy with the product and service and to top it off, we are in bad times where the customer is being cheated, and cheated again by inferior products and all basic necessities are through the roof prices so we will be polite and happy when we are satisfied customers, And I have been very satisfied with Frontier. read more

I'm happy to add another "1-star, wish there were a negative star" rating. I did not see my wifi on any of my devices after a momentary power outage on 09/20/21. This was a significant disruption for me as I am working remotely and rely on my work laptop to be connected via wifi. First person I talked to at 0936 (Samantha) was, actually supportive. She tried to troubleshoot but couldn't solve my issue. I distinctly remember a conversation about scheduling a technician to come out that day, because she asked when I would be home. She told me I would receive a call within the next 30 minutes. I waited until 1218 and then called again and talked to Bob. The only thing he offered was that there was a ticket open for advance technical support to call me back asap to troubleshoot (not to come onsite). Still with no connection at 7:26 pm, I called and talked to Casey who also had no information to provide. 09/21/21 0733 I got a text out of the blue that my service appt has been 'changed' to 09/23/21 between 8-12 am (horrible automation since I never received a message confirming an appointment). On 09/23/21 at 1230 (after my 4h window, and having not received ANY communication) I called and talked to Andy who indicated my ticket was resolved and had been closed. WHAT? Fact: Frontier closed my ticket without 1)confirming that I was back up and running and 2) notifying me. Andy transferred me to Robert, but Robert is in the DSL department and couldn't help with my wifi since I have FIOS. Robert transferred me to Jesus in the fiberoptic department and he actually took the time and was able to help resolve my issue. Regardless that the issue finally got resolved over the phone. I was without wifi for 3.5 days. I lost several hours of work due to connection issues and figuring out workarounds. I wonder how the people at Frontier would like it if they lost several hours of work? Customers are often bound to only one company because that's who serves the geographic area, so it's doubtful that these 1-star reviews mean anything to Frontier's business. I will though recommend to anyone with a choice to not use Frontier due to such poor customer service. read more

I received a text message at 10::59 AM Informing me that the technician had been dispatched. I was unable to receive a definitive answer to this question. Stay far away from Frontier Internet. First of all, they slept my name wrong off the bat and refused to change it. My boyfriend and I moved into our first apartment and we went with frontier for Internet. They came out here and set up our Internet and left and said that our Internet should be up and running now. Well, come to find out, it didn't work at all and for a month and a half my boyfriend and I had no Internet at all and I had been in a battle with frontier over the phone to get someone out here to fix the issue and they said they don't send people out once the Internet has been set up at our house. They charged me two bills even though I had no Internet. After weeks and weeks of battling with frontier come to find out they never even turned on my Internet when they came out here initially in the first place. I've been trying to request anI've been trying to request a refund for weeks and it has been such a battle because why did I pay $77+ a month if they don't even turn on my internet in the first place? I have been in a battle with them since beginning of June and we are in August now and I'm still having to deal with them. Multiple people that I talked over the phone over the past few weeks have been nothing but rude, one lady over the phone told me she couldn't help me so she gave me some number to call about a refund and it was some random number and she hung up on me. Now they're trying to charge me for five eeros and I only had three given to me. Last time I called they said there is no documentation of any of this on my frontier account. Frontier is a horrible and should not even have a business. They are so unprofessional and good luck because if you have any issue whatsoever with their service, good luck getting someone out to you because they say they don't send anyone out for anything pretty much once your Internet has been set up. I ended up going with spectrum and other than having one outage. I have no problems with spectrum and they send out people if you need any help or questions setting up your Internet. I scheduled service to be turned on, was offered 1000mbps for $89. Had my credit check, card on file for auto pay and email confirmation with my order number. They never came, and when I reached out they told me that they don't offer 1000mbps at my location only 50mbps and that is likely why they canceled the order. But nobody bothered to call me or email me at all! I am just left without service and now the offer of service that is 20 times slower is the offer for only $20 less a month?!?! WOW read more

I have never disliked any company as much as Frontier. They sent bills to the wrong address. I lost my accountant so they shut off my internet. I quickly paid the bill, requested they change the address(they didn't) and I put in automatic payments. The internet shut of the next month... They didn't update the address and their automatic payment didn't work. I now owe $360 for reconnecting my service, this isn't what I owe, this is just the penalty. Unreal. I already canceled all my other businesses using Frontier. I'm currently purchasing billboard space around LA to make sure no one chooses Frontier. Oh and the real reason I'm angry is because they insulted me over and over when I was just trying to pay my bill on the phone. Once she realized my situation she said she cut the fee down and transferred me to collections to lower it more. I was on the phone for an hour. They put me on hold for 10 minutes and then some random lady picks up the phone to start the conversation over from scratch. I wanted to switch from Spectrum to Frontier for my internet service. I called their company and made an appointment for today to have my Frontier fiber optic internet service installed. The installer showed up and was extremely rude from the start. He never introduced himself and immediately asked me if I had gotten permission from my neighbor to gain access to their back yard so he could pull the fiber optic line from their electrical pole into my yard. I explained to him that I was never made aware that I was to do that nor do I know my neighbor well enough to ask. He then had me show him where I wanted to have my line installed into my house. I showed him where the old Spectrum line was and asked if it could be installed in the exact same place. He immediately told me that he can't touch their line and advised me that I had to call them first to remove their line before he could install the new line. I told him once again that Frontier never advised me to do that and that I had already called Spectrum to cancel my service and all they wanted back was their modem. At this point, I could tell that this guy was in a bad mood and was doing everything he could to get out of installing my internet. I confronted him about his attitude and told him that if he doesn't like his job, don't take it out on the customer. I then explained to him that I was going to call Frontier and file a complaint against him and cancel my service with Frontier. He immediately changed his attitude and miraculously stated that he would be able to do the job exactly as I had asked. At this point I didn't trust that I would be getting the best service and if this was the start of my experience with frontier, what was the future going to hold moving forward. I advised the installer that due to his attitude, I was going to cancel the install and file a complaint against him while canceling my service with Frontier. Without saying a word, he got in his vehicle and drove off. I called Frontier's customer service and explained what had happened. They could care less and just asked if I wanted to cancel my service completely. Obviously, they must have so many customers, I didn't seem to matter. When I asked to file a complaint against the installer the woman said that she would take the information but then before I could give her any, she hung up on me. This should be a huge warning to anyone considering Frontier as their provider. I had a problem with the Wi-Fi since the minute I got it. They also never buried the Wi-Fi cable. It is still out in the driveway to this day. I paid $190 for two months of not good Wi-Fi! The two times I called to cancel they tried to fix it but it still didn't work. The third time I called to get it removed they tried to do it again. Then I said I just wanted to get it removed and they said I had to pay an additional $59. So I paid for really bad service and $59 to cancel. Overall, I do not recommend. I feel like they were of no help and just kept taking my money knowing I had not properly working Wi-F! If you want to give your money to a company that doesn't care and just wants money then this is the one for you. The should've at least waived the $59 fee for the cancellation! The remote control for the cable box has now failed after all these years (keep in mind that I have been paying a monthly rental fee for this equipment). Now frontier who took over Verizon wants to charge me to replace the defective remote control that I have been paying rent on for the last 7 years (approximately). Speeds are advertised as high speed, but I've only ever seen about 15 Mbps on a good day. I've tried changing out the router but nothing seems to work. I've tried to have a tech come figure it out but they basically just told me "there's nothing we can do about it". Basically thanks for your money, here's a shitty product and it doesn't matter what you think because we monopolize your area. Horrible ISP, if you can go somewhere else, do it. read more
