First when I called them to get their service, the customer representative said we will come to install for you, never ever mentioned there will be an installation fee. So, once we had the service over a month the first statement came with the monthly fee plus $100+ installation fee. Meanwhile the monthly kept on going up from $40 to $90 for the same service. So, I cancelled the service I had to pay one more month of fee after I cancelled. Then two months later I got a letter of $55.18 for re-stocking fee. Non of the other companies charge be an installation fee or re-stocking fee. DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT call them or use their service. Extra fees like that who would want their service. Frontier Fiber is a scam. I never write reviews, but my experience with this company was so unbelievably bad I have to add to the chorus of voices here, "Do not sign up! It is a scam!" I feel sorry for their employees who have to sell this terrible product, and the customer service folks who have to KEEP you signed up with aggressive tactics. I tried to cancel 3 times because while, yes, the internet WAS fast, it was 100% UNSTABLE and timed out every 2 minutes. there should be an option for zero or negative stars! don't ever do business with frontier internet. they are by far, the absolute worst in the industry for service and customer service. i signed up for service a few months ago and getting in touch with their customer service is a f'ing joke. i've tried multiple times and each call was "magically disconnected". the reps make the incorrect adjustments to your account and it flags your account that it needs to return equipment when i asked for no such thing. the next thing is that you'll get a surprise bill with a $150 one time charge for something you did not ask for but rather because the rep you talked to didn't know what the hell they were doing and changed your account. i've called multiple times to try and get in touch with someone and i can guarantee every single time you get someone on the phone, half way into the call the call quality will begin to turn to shit and it'll just magically disconnect on you. it's their way of getting around actually fixing anything for you. they'll also put you on hold to review whatever they need to do and while on hold, the call will disconnect. it's their sneaky way of getting you to give up on solving your issue. do not, i repeat, do not do any business with frontier. fuck frontier and their shady business practices. read more

Probably one of the worst experenses Ive every had. Long story short i tried to get fiber internet and was told i needed someone to come and instal the line to the pole outside. Well after many schedueled days with no one showingn up and many promises that some one would. I cancelled the service after 3 weeks of no internet. no apology was giving and I was told a manger would reach out (never happened) To add insult to injury they still tried billing me for conncected service they never conncected... I began to lose channels, a few at a time, so I called Frontier. They decided to send a replacement cable card (my TIVO uses a card instead of a cable box). It arrived and I called Frontier to activate the card. After 40 minutes on hold, attempting to activate the replacement cable card for my TIVO, the person at Frontier says that the problem is with my TIVO. I had a sense of this person being incapable about an hour into this convo, so I popped the 1st cable card back in. She then says it won't work because she's "returned it to inventory". I rebooted the TIVO and bam, it has all my cables. She never activated the replacement. They never sent a tech. They never told me the steps to install/reboot card. I figured it all out on my own. The call was an hour and 44 minutes after the 40 minute hold! I got done, in 3 minutes, what she couldn't do in 104 minutes! And the kicker? When I asked if they could send a tech, they said there "might" be charges. Might? They could answer for sure, and couldn't tell me how much. Only "the tech can discuss that with you on the visit.". Frontier Communications is the absolute worst company that I have delt with. They constantly lie about the times and days that their technicians we're supposed to come to my house to install the line + modem. Unfortunately, my house did not have an existing fiber line to it so they had to pull a new line from my neighbor's yard to the pole that is closest to my house. Instead of having their own techs do that type of work, they hired another contracting company to do it. That company is even worse that Frontier. They don't show up when they are supposed to and they don't call to notify the home owner that they are enroute to your house. The one time that a tech did show up, they said that they couldn't go into the neighbors yard. If the tech would have called me, I would have been able to tell him that my neighbor gave me permission to go to his backyard to pull the new line. The 3 times that I talked with a supervisor all I received was the same excuse. They all promised some kind of discount to my first bill to try to get me to calm down. At this point I have already been waiting for 3 weeks. I figured no one experienced the same kind of problem as me so I started to read the other reviews of people in my area and found out that EVERYONE was experiencing the same thing. Phone service was out for two (2) weeks. Non English speaking call center could assist. Call center setup an appointment 5 times, saying that their computer system says that we had service. Appointment were cancelled 5 time, by internet system stating that there was an outage and therefore the appointment was cancelled. Two different systems are in place. One shows land line service and the other shows cable service. The cable system over rides the the land line service. For $101.00 dollars a month, you would think that you could get an answer form an American as to what is happening for two (2) weeks. Only had service with Frontier for 10 days before my internet went completely out. Tech support was unable to resolve the issue remotely. Soonest service appointment for a tech to come out and restore internet is 3 DAYS away, and would require me to take a day off of work to be present for the tech. Every Frontier rep I spoke to (phone, live chat, Facebook) told me there is nothing they can do but "escalate" it, but that comes with no guarantees that someone can come out sooner. This will be a total of 4 days that I can't work, monitor my home, kids/family can't watch tv or make video calls. Frontier either has a highly perverted definition of what the word "timely" means, or is extremely ill-equipped to manage the number of service issues the customers are experiencing in the area. It gets even worse. We called after no one showed up to install our service. After 1 hour and 45 minutes of both my husband and is trying to get through to an agent, we were able to schedule service for our move to our new house for Saturday (yesterday). The last call I had was on Friday and I was connected to the BIGGEST idiot I have ever spoken to in my life. First, I literally could not understand her. She was not listening about the new address. I told her to connect me to her supervisor because I could not understand her because of her accent. She told me she is speaking very slowly. I said connect me to her supervisor, she gave me a number to call. I said connect me to your supervisor and she transferred me to another department. That guy, I could understand. I explained the problem, he said the order is already processed nothing he could do, but not to worry, a tech will call before he gets to my house and I can just give him my new address. Ha! Right. Sure enough, next day, tech indeed calls. I explain we moved. He looked up the address and said he is not authorized to go there (less than 1 mile from old address). Absolutely nothing whatsoever he could do. He's just a tech. I asked if he could check with his supervisor, he said no. I asked if he could at least give me a number that someone would actually talk to me. He gave me a number. Turns out it's the generic number and because I had an order pending, the auto agent would recognize my number, tell me order pending and hang up in me. I literally broke down in tears. I have a 6 am meeting tomorrow morning that I will now have to get at 3:30 am to get into work. Saturday after the whole fiasco, I broke down and called Spectrum who provided a live person within 2 minutes, processed my order and are sending me a kit to self install Tuesday. The connection is not as good and I need the fiber optic cable. But, it's not meant to be. I wrote a negative yelp review last week by the way after 1st tech never showed up. If I could give negative stars I would because it's been a horrible experience with Frontier. Both the internet and the technicians suck! Had a technician come out here and he was extremely rude and condescending. This internet works in a new way not many are familiar with. Requires the download of an app, constant updates, etc. I was asking the technician questions to make sure I'm using it right and his reply was "You're really making me work for my money today with all these questions huh?" What kind of stupid response is that? It's your job to explain things!!!!! Long story short, he installed it and left. Said to call him if there are any issues because he is responsible for the internet working for the next 2 weeks. I work from home early mornings and my job requires good internet service. The next day 4 minutes into working the internet stops functioning. I restart all the routers and modems and do everything I possibly can to fix the issue. I call customer service and it's a 1 hour+ wait so I end up hanging up. I'm 1 hour out of work at this point and I did everything I possibly can to fix the internet and I'm still not able to do my job. I call the technician as a last resort and he answers the phone extremely aggressive and hostile, screaming that I called too early and woke him up. He offered no help and hung up the phone on me. A couple of minutes later he sends me a petty text message to my personal phone being extremely sarcastic saying "Wow thank you for waking me up so early" he already screamed it to me on the phone! There was no need to send a petty sarcastic text message saying the exact same thing! Extremely unprofessional!!! But I guess he wasn't too tired if he had the energy to send a stupid text message afterwards. Never experienced this type of disrespectful behavior from a company. I lost the entire day of work because the internet would not connect to my laptop and I had no help from Frontier whatsoever in fixing the issue. The internet does not work properly on my smart tv either. If you're considering this internet good luck when you have an internet issue. Especially in the morning because the lazy incompetent technicians don't get up until 12 PM+ and you'll be waiting hours on the phone before a customer service representative answers your call. I've had Spectrum in the past and they actually work 24/7 and technicians have been at my home as early as 7 AM fixing issues. So I naturally expected similar service from Frontier but apparently not. Found that out the hard way with the unnecessary side of attitude I received. You can't count on them for anything!! I have no idea why so many bad reviews appear on this site...maybe because that's the only time people write stuff on these places - just to complain. But I've had Frontier service for my internet service for, I don't know, 10 years maybe? Whenever they put in the FIOS service anyway - however long that's been. In all that time, I've had not one complaint. My service runs flawlessly. It's never gone down any time I needed it, and it's always there whenever I do need it - day, night, middle of the night -- seriously, whenever. It consistently has been available for me, the speed is awesome, I couldn't ask for better or faster speed, and the quality is pretty perfect. I can't advise on customer service, like when you have a problem and need to talk to somebody, cause I've never had a problem so I didn't need to talk to anybody. I had to work from home for the Department of Justice during Covid, and there was never not even one tick of downtime due to service. Pretty impressive as far as I'm concerned! I'll just say I'm really grateful and super happy with this service. Companies and service like this run few and far between, and I'm so happy and consider myself tremendously blessed to be a customer. Ill try to keep this short as this is my first good customer service I have had since the introduction of COVID. I feel that no one cares about customer service anymore and finally came across a service technician that did. We had an appointment from 8am - 12pm to increase our internet speed. Paul Long Tech ID 851094 arrived at around 9am, got everything connected and working in 15 minutes. He said all I have to do is a factory reset and I would now get over 500mbps. He gave me his number and said to call him if anything isn't working to my satisfaction. After about 15 minutes I couldn't get it to work after doing the factory reset. So I called Paul and told him what happened. First of all I was surprised he picked up because it's so hard to get ahold of anyone now a days. The long and short of it all, by around 3pm he came back after completing some other jobs, and he stayed for about another 30 or so minutes until it was working perfectly. I'm currently getting solar installed and the experience is terrible and there is 0 customer service when a problem arrives. So I would just like to say thank you for fixing my internet issue in a timely manner and taking pride in your work. Several months ago we had to move my wife's father from his house in Long Beach to an assisted living home, and then put his now empty house on the market. Naturally, we had to discontinue his Frontier ISP service at the residence. WHAT A NIGHTMARE for my poor wife: "Whew, every step is torture. I have been trying to close the Verizon/Frontier ISP at Dad's house since January. I sent them the Power of Attorney forms on March 10. I called today to talk to them and close the account with all of the proper information. "I still got a run around," they don't yet have the forms", "they need to talk to dad" [who cannot communicate too well]. I "need to talk to the "Retention" Department (that tells you what they want to do even though it makes no sense)." It finally took a combination of me threatening and being on the brink of tears to actually get someone to close the account." Less than one star?? YES! By my own admission, I've got to be the biggest fool on the face of the earth. I've threatened to leave Frontier for several years now, and today they pushed me over the edge. At 10:00 AM, 4/12/22, I discovered the cable, from the utility pole across the street, to my house was hanging across the street approximately 10 feet off the ground. I called Frontier, and stayed outside directing traffic around the wire. Today was trash day so I stayed there for a very long time because the trash trucks would not clear the cable unless they were close to the curb on the opposite side of the street. If a Fed Ex or UPS truck were to come down the street they wouldn't clear it either. I told the rep at Frontier it was a safety hazard and he told me I had to call 811 to determine it was their cable and not another companies, and if they came out and it wasn't their cable I'd be charged. I informed him that I pay them for my service and if they didn't come out soon I'd cut the cable to prevent damage to my house or a vehicle. By the way, 811 is for dig alert, not for suspended cables. When I told him I was going to cut the cable and end my service the dumbass transferred me to Customer Retention. The person I spoke with then was very pleasant, put me on hold and was speaking to the same idiot I had previously talked to. She came back online and told me she couldn't make any headway with him either, even telling him she would cancel any fees, just send someone, he said no, he wouldn't do it. She finally called someone else and was told there was a tech in the area and when he was free he would come right over. At 2:00 PM no one had show up. I called Frontier again and spoke with another idiot. I told her three times what the issue was, it was a safety hazard, and I was getting tired of standing in the street and directing traffic. She set me up with an appointment for Thursday, 2 days later, between 1 & 5. I hung up on this dumbass and called the Redondo Beach PD, the dispatcher said she would notify the Fire Dept. Within 10 minutes the FD showed up, put up a ladder, secured the cable with zip ties I provided, and were gone within 15 minutes. Hats off to these guys for their assistance and professionalism. If you are within their service area PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP. I have had nothing but problems from the get go with Frontier, and I will be switching to Spectrum (which may or may not be any better). From the day they were supposed to set up my service (which i stayed home all day for), the technician said they came to the door and no one answered, which was BS because I was in my living room waiting all day. My guess is they didn't feel like setting up my service that day because it was pouring rain. When I spoke to customer service about this they said they would credit my account for the inconvenience, but no credit was ever given and I gave up on getting one about 3 months into my service. Over the course of less than 2 years my package has lost several channels due to "contract negotiations", and yet the price of my package has remained the same.
