My son recently purchased a vehicle through this dealer. If you purchase a vehicle from them pay close attention to how much they are charging for the vehicle and make sure you sign the correct documents. Also, they put a security system on the vehicles and make you pay for it even if you don't want it. It is called Kahu. When I searched for information on it, it says this is a feature placed on vehicles so the dealers can charge more. This experience is another reason why I don't trust dealerships. DO NOT GO ALONE!! I believe there should be some kind of discount when military people purchases a vehicle from them. read more

Glenn Stone is the perfect antidote to the high pressure, bs-hosing lot hawks we're used to coping with. He actually acts like a real human being and treated us with respect. Drop in and say hello. Have purchased a few trucks here over the years. Always had good customer service both in sales and service. But for a company that boasts about the largest volume dealer in NW, and been in business for last 60 years the facility shows it. The interior need some updating...The service arrival area is small compared to other dealers in the area and the waiting room & bathrooms are to say the least 'Pathetic'.. my closet at home is larger than your sitting area. Give me a break, if you are going to brag about yourself in person and in ads then show us and update your waiting area and bathrooms and facility. I have reccomended you to friends for purchasing vehicles and service but am becoming embarassed to send people there. I have lived in this area for 20 years and would like to be proud about coming in for service or another vehicle. Just update the place, do some remodeling or something... read more

Took my wife 2012 Ford Explorer in for a factory recall service on the rear suspension. The work was done but not in a professional manner. I was informed that the rear shocks were leaking and needed to be replaced. Thanked the service department service person and inform him that I would do the repair myself. Upon inspection of the rear shocks it was discovered that the rear suspension replacement parts were not properly installed and bolts that were supposed to be torqued they were loose and I moved it with my finger, the linement was also off. The driver side rear tire was not aligned properly. Called the service department and got blown off. The service department person was supposed to call me back within a day to schedule and appointment. As usual, Forntier Ford failed! This is a pattern with this dealership. They give you good lip service but do a poor job taking care of our vehicle. Had to take my vehicle to Les Schwab to have it properly repaired and aligned. My personal recommendation would be to aviod any services provided by them. My family was put at risk because of short cuts and not properly QA their work prior to giving my wife her vehicle. I will NEVER use their service department again. I'd rather drive 100 miles away to receive the proper care for my vehicles and family safety. read more

The sales guy I bought my car from here also is of no help in getting some things fixed that should never have been a problem on a new car in the first place.I think they just want to wear me out so I'll go away and they won't have to fix my car. I searched for the car I wanted on AutoTrader.com. I came across the one i've been searching for with a price that seemed too good to be true. Turned out it was. The MSRP they advertise on the internet turned out to be $2999 higher than the actual MSRP on the window sticker. So the super sale price isn't a deal at all. read more

I would say my experience was "ok" but nothing over the top by any means. I got an average deal on a car but once I signed the paperwork they some how lost the second set of keys for the vehicle and the Navigation card. When I approached this to them they said "what do you expect from a used car." The car I bought was one year old 18,000 miles on it and was $33,000(I wouldn't say this is a old car). I guess I expected too much from them. To give me the basics that every single car I know has, especially since the key I use for my car is one that can be programed from any Ford Fob so their was not a specific key to the car itself. On top of it all I asked them to fill up my gas tank and they told me "we only do that for new cars." I wouldn't recommend this place to any friends or family. Go somewhere that believes these small things are important. read more

We had many must haves and were very limited by how much we could spend so I was not optimistic we would be buying new. After a lot of research, phone calls and emails to many other dealers, John was the only one that kept working with us and willing to do whatever was needed. I found a vehicle at Frontier Ford though Autotrader.com. It had been the exact vehicle I had been looking for to fit our growing family and it was advertised for a great price. I submitted my information through a contact form and was contacted by a gentleman named Robbie Sevenich. Via email I explained to him this vehicle looks perfect for our family needs and once we secured financing through our local credit union I would be in contact with him to discuss purchasing. We exchanged several emails regarding the specifics of the vehicle as well as purchasing questions I had (I live in Oregon where there is no sales tax, so I asked about that as well as travel arrangements since it was approx. a 6hr drive for me). Mr Sevenich was kind and answered all my questions and even offered to come pick me up at the Bellingham airport if I opted to fly. Due to my schedule as a firefighter it was difficult for me to communicate over a several day period so my wife ended up communicating with Mr. Sevenich. This is where the stereo typical car salesman came out. When communicating with my wife there was suddenly an "extra" option added to the vehicle the increased the price by $1,600! When my wife confronted him and stated that these so called "extras" were not mentioned in the ad anywhere nor did we request them, the initial response was that nothing could be done and that if we wanted the vehicle we would just have to pay for these so called "extras" that they chose to place on the vehicle. After further confrontation with my wife, Mr. Sevenich finally conceded that all but $399 with of "extras" could be removed and that regardless of the advertised price, we would be responsible for them. As you can imagine this made me slightly frustrated, as Mr. Sevenich was clearly trying to take advantage of my wife. He had plenty of opportunity to discuss these "extras" with me when he left a voice mail and when we exchanged several emails but he did not mention them once. When I called him out on this, he accused me of "not having all the facts" and telling me "these are only options and no one has to pay for them." The funny thing about that response is that it's a total lie and contradicts what he told my wife, that we had to pay for these extras! I feel very fortunate their dishonesty was exposed before we made a 6hr trip and supported their business. read more

We have had MANY wonderful experiences with this place. We custom ordered our truck, leased a car, had recall work done on my car, and have had regular scheduled maintenance done on our vehicles. Shawn Barrett is a wonderful salesman, he is NOT pushy, easy to reach, polite and real. I would highly recommend him. Mike, the GM, is really nice, fair and easy to work with. He will work FOR you. Susan, in the finance department, is SUPER sweet. She's quick, efficient, and fun to talk to. If you need service, Ted & Glenn have always taken care of us. Very disappointing experience! We live in Oregon and drove 6 hours to get a car from them, and told them this several times before and during the purchase. The actual purchase experience was standard, but after the deal was done all professionalism and customer service went out the window. It took them OVER 6 WEEKS to get me the title!!! Gary, our salesperson, doesn't ever return phone calls so after continued calling I finally got a hold of him and he said don't worry they'll have it in a week or so. Then I kept calling back and everyone started playing pass the buck, they kept trying to blame my bank and the DMV, but the bank and DMV both stated they tried repeatedly to get in touch with the dealership and were having no luck. Cherri is the title clerk and is honestly the most vapid individual I have dealt with in a long time, she actually said she couldn't explain to me what the process was or why it was taking so long. Cherri did mention that she tried something new with processing the paperwork but it backfired and added extra time (but didn't apologize for making it take longer). If that wasn't bad enough John Bonnett and Julie Pagall (office managers) were very unhelpful in getting this resolved and kept saying that I should have known it would take this long and it was my fault. They made no effort to expedite things and were quite rude and dismissive of the entire situation. In Oregon you can only buy two 3 week trip permits per year and I was about to exhaust them so I demanded they send me a Washington trip permit to get me by, and wouldn't you know they were magically able to scare up a title the day before my trip permits expired and they didn't have to help. This was a very frustrating experience the whole way through and I would not recommend this dealership to anyone, even if you live in Washington they clearly don't take care of their customers after the fact. read more

Was in the middle of an 8 month RV trip in 2013 starting in Fl with my 2012 F-350 extended cab, short bed truck. Passed by Frontier Ford on my way to catch a ferry and saw this 2012 F-350 crew cab, long bed truck on display. Drove in and looked at the truck but had no time to get mine looked at. Came back the next day and met Norm Wasson and Mike Z. Between both of these gentlemen, I had the BEST car buying experience I ever had, and I've had many. Made me feel like family. No pressure. Just honest to goodness conversation. INCOMPETENT OR THIEVES? I bought a 1999 used Ford Ranger XLT from a private party. Unfortunately it only had one programmed key. I learned on-line that you have to have two programmed keys for this vehicle to be able to create more on your own. So, I went to Frontier Ford in Anacortes to have another key programmed. It was going to cost me $119+tax for the key and the programming. I thought, it's expensive, but I have to have an extra key. They told me it would be 20 to 30 minutes. I waited in the waiting area for 2 and a half hours (fortunately I had a good book to read). Finally, I asked somone what was taking so long. They said they couldn't program the key and that I needed a new computer system for my vehicle which would cost over $1000. Now I'm wondering, would they have let me sit there all day if I hadn't asked about it? They said they could get me a "used computer system" with no warrenty for about $800. They also said that I wouldn't be able to program any keys or the alarm system without a new computer. I left in disgust, but they made me buy the key for $36.00 since they had "cut it" and it would at least unlock the doors, just not start the truck. On my way home, I stopped to get a bite to eat and then I thought, "I'm gonna try this key." Guess what? It started my truck. So, I bought four programable keys off of ebay for $30.00 and two Fab controllers for the alarm system. Carl, great guy by the way, at Sebo's in Anacortes, cut the keys for me for free. I was able to program all four keys and the two fobs by following the instructions from the ebay sellers. It's been over a year now, and I'm finally getting to writing this review, but I've had no problem with the keys, fobs, or on-board computer system. I guess I'm leaning toward "incompetent" more than anything. If they really wanted me to buy a new computer from them, would they have given me a key that actually worked? You decide. read more

This complaint is against the sales/management team part of the dealership, not the service department. Stay away from this dealership! I would give them a zero rating. There are so many other dealerships to go to other than this one. Between one of the salesmen and the manager, they have given this dealership a bad name & we are currently filing credit fraud charges. Because of saying NO to purchasing a truck that is overpriced & too much money for a 20 year olds first purchase, they decided to request credit ANYWAY to at least 17 (so far that have come through & have shown up on the credit reports) different lending agencies WITHOUT PERMISSION!!! The amount requested WITHOUT PERMISSION is also beyond an amount my son would/could afford ($38,175), or even want to spend if he were to purchase a truck, thus guaranteeing a denial letter from each of these lending agencies. Because it is his first purchase, my husband was going to be a co-signer if my son decided on a truck. This dealership intentionally requested so many loan offers to ruin my husband & son's credit scores, knowing the "the number of inquiries" would "adversely affect" their credit score. Also, the FALSE amount requested by the dealership would guarantee a denial to my son for "insufficient income for amount of credit requested". In the event a financial company counter offered the loan request, or modified the terms requested by Frontier Ford (which who knows what terms Frontier requested?!), they relayed the new terms to the dealership who then denied the counter offer - according to the rejection letters received. This is not against Ford Motor Corporate (I am filing a complaint with them about this dealership). I love my Ford's. I've had a 2000 Expedition since brand new that never gave me problems. Sold it after 12 years w/240,000+ miles. Replaced normal wear & tear, nothing major. I am currently driving a 2014 Explorer Sport (since new) & love it. It is Frontier Ford sales you need to beware of. My husband & son also received harassing phone calls/texts throughout the following day while at work. I'm writing this in hope that no one else will go through what we are. Go to a different Ford dealership to test drive, negotiate & purchase. read more
