After realizing we had a screw in our rental car's tire on Mt. Erie, we ended up coming straight here as this was the closest auto body shop. We just asked if we could switch the tire ourselves in their lot in case of any issues, but Jeff and Taylor so graciously offered to switch out the flat themselves (for free) to eliminate any further risks and incidents that could come from us switching out the tire ourselves. We are truly impressed and grateful for their quick and friendly service and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for any auto needs! I would give them a 10 if I could. After getting an outrageous price for a brake job I called them for a quote and it ended up I didn't need all the work and the cost was a fraction. They are so professional, honest, capable and just really nice people. I have to take a ferry to get there and I will do it again when I need work on my car. They're the best. read more

I was on a 5 month RV trip towing a 2005 Jeep. My Jeep started intermittently not starting. I was getting on a ferry the next morning with reservations on Orcas. I could not find any mechanic to even glance at my Jeep. The soonest anyone I called was a 2 week wait. A friend in Seattle called a friend in Anacortes and they recommended Jeff Malone. He told me to drive over and if Jeep wouldn't start he'd tow me in. I drove over and his son dug right into it and diagnosed the issue immediately. If you want to experience quality customer service from a reputable and experienced auto repair shop, then you definitely want to drive over to Import AutoSport. I've been taking my Beemer (04 BMW X3 - 93kmi) to Jeff for about five years. Jeff's locally owned auto repair shop is conveniently located only a couple miles out of town off Hwy 20. Import AutoSport always makes me feel like a priority, and most importantly Jeff only recommends necessary maintenance - whether he performs the service, or refers customers to another local business. Here's the best part... I recently moved to SoCal. A couple weeks after I arrived, my Service Engine light popped on. LSS, I took it to a very conveniently located independent BMW repair shop, where they performed a diagnostic. Results - thermostat was going bad. But what happened next, was rather shocking... I was told by this (unnamed) auto repair shop that my car required $1,700+ in repairs.Their quote included replacing all belts, hoses, plastic parts, the radiator, and the water pump. The line item for replacement of the thermostat was $200! I had no idea what to do, but I felt confident Jeff would give me some guidance. I forwarded the estimate to Jeff who immediately helped me assess the validity of these unexpected expenses for a shockingly huge number of repairs. (Keep in mind, Jeff did this for a former customer, now living 1500 miles away!) Then, not only did Jeff personally spend his valuable time analyzing my long distance need for auto repair, he also researched and interviewed reputable authorized BMW auto repair shops within a reasonable driving distance from my new home. Today, I took Jeff's recommendation and made an appointment with an auto repair shop only 15 mi up the road - another highly rated Yelp business. (Yes, I will follow up with a review of that customer experience too.) In closing, If you live in or around Skagit County and you are skeptical about where to take your new or old car for regularly scheduled or emergency maintenance, don't hesitate to call Jeff Malone at Import AutoSport! Jeff's team has worked on a couple of my cars over the past few years. Recently he fixed an intermitant electrical issue on my late model Dodge truck that had flumoxed two other mechanics. FIgured out a full fix and sourced the needed out-of-production parts from a salvage yard. Not only were the parts and labor a fair deal price-wise, but across six months the problem is now solved and my truck is back to being reliable. I really hate to leave a less than stellar review, but dealing with this shop was really frustrating and difficult. Communication was so abysmal....many, many calls and emails went unanswered and 99% of the time when I, my husband or my sister called no one could tell us anything and when we were told Jeff would return our calls he didn't. Really wasted a lot of our time. We were told our cars lights would be replaced and they weren't. We were told the car would be done on a particular day and it wasn't...and this after a few weeks of trying to get any info at all. It was over a week before we could finally hunt them down to get any info about what needed to be done at all. We finally just got out car and will take it elsewhere. I can't recommend if this is how they treat customers. Also noticed a new problem on the way hone that wasn't there before. Not what we expected from a shop that was recommended. read more
