I give frontier 0 stars, their staffing was rude in Seattle and in Denver customer service sucks. And the baggage rule we had to pay $99 just for a carry on total paid out just for 1 carry on and 1 checked was $337 which is a rip off. On our flight back from Denver they were giving out $500 vouchers for a few select to leave the next day. This sounded good because we wanted to recoup some of our money back that we were gouged out of. We inquired and the voucher was only good for 24 hours, so essentially they were just changing our flight plans w/ nothing benefiting us. Will NEVER fly w/ Frontier again horrible airlines. Can't list all of the many disappointments here, but they include dreadful customer service (both counter and online), late flights - by HOURS - every time we've flown Frontier, ridiculous policies (can't check bags more than 2 hours early, so forget about arriving early to get through security and have dinner before boarding a 10pm flight, etc). Gotta fly with someone. Depending on where you go you don't always have a ton of options. They only fly Air busses like Spirit or a few other airlines so I hope you're into that aircraft. Still most of the fleet has been remodeled if not new so don't worry about a crusty plane. Seats don't recline and no real tray tables so brace yourself if you're not familiar with how Frontier operates. They do have a few nicer upgraded seats up front for an additional cost. BUT that's how other airlines are anyway. They do Coke products like many other companies. I've seen people get water for free. Also seen them charge people so I don't know what the deal is. Any and all beverages are for sale so prepare for that. Fly most places but I don't think they've added any international routes yet. Staff is friendly. Good pilots. What rubs most people the wrong way is their fees. When you book your flight you have to pay for a seat. Otherwise you are randomly assigned at check in with whatever is left. Best seats are about $48 next level are $24 and the next level are $12. Depending on your flight is $5 to have a window or aisle seat. You get a personal backpack or purse. But they are fairly serious about checking. So pay to check your bag early. It's a set price when you book. After that it's more at the airport. At the gate etc. End up coming out the same as a few other airlines, But when you add in your $2 fare on Bucky the Beaver it's $120 with bags all said and done. Cheaper airlines. Flown them to Orlando as well as Denver, Seattle, and Chicago. Safe etc. etc. Just find it annoying that any deals have wild blackout dates. And the date price is always about doubled by the time you pick a seat and pay for your bags. read more

The discount pricing is a lost-leader and quickly erased by a la carte add ons, including a $55 per trip per person carry-on bag charge at the counter, or slightly less via the frontier app. Unbelievably they charge for coffee, water and to reserve a seat. The flight was on time and the Airbus was clean, but furnished with low-end non-reclining plastic bus like seats with thin padding, short arm rest and small tray. Note there is no audio video or phone charging available at your seat, not ideal for a working or long flight. A small back pack is allowed, making It a good choice for free wheeling travelers that can live out of a back pack, but for me, the add on charges surpassed the cost of full serve air lines. Next time I'll skip Frontier and choose up front pricing, comfort and service instead. read more

Worst. Experience. Ever. Flight delayed 30 min, finally boarded, only to wait on the plane for 45 min to de-plane and wait for another 3 hours. Flight is supposed to leave at 3 AM. I had no idea this place sucked so bad. EDIT: They sent me 50 dollars hoping I'd take my review down. Also, we've almost left the airport twice. We were brought back on the plane, for a second time, and we even taxied for what felt like 20 minutes before the captain said there were more issues with the plane. IAH to DEN F9 243 5:11am There was no air conditioning while the flight was boarding. They tried using air from the jet bridge; however, it did not help anyone who wasn't close to the door. Being in zone 1, I was one of the 1st people to board. This means I got to sit in the stifling heat for about 30 minutes. In addition, there was no beverage/snack service on the flight. DEN to SEA F9 143 04:34pm They changed the departure gate with no announcement. Sitting at A40, I happened to look up and notice that the destination listed on the gate sign had changed. As there was no announcement, I ended up walking and looking at all of the A gates until I found the correct one. The lady making announcements was completely unintelligible. We couldn't understand most of what she was saying. A second employee causes panic by stating the flight was oversold and not everyone with tickets would get on. She tells everyone to look at their boarding passes and if they don't have a seat listed, surprise! I had a seat listed, so I was good. Boarding time arrives and the plane barely lands yet we are still "on time". The departure location changes from Seattle to Las Vegas BEFORE SEATTLE EVEN BOARDS. This creates further chaos as in addition to the passengers who are freaked out that they won't be able to get on the Seattle flight, the Las Vegas passengers join in the ever restless crowd. As boarding starts, the huge crowd pushes forward. The gate agent tries to get people to move back and leave room for those who are supposed to be boarding to no avail. Both Seattle and Las Vegas passengers are mixed together and boarding. In the chaos, they even let some of the Las Vegas passengers on the Seattle plane and had to send someone down the gangway to get them (about 6 per the boarding agent who was apparently alert enough to notice their boarding passes said Las Vegas but not to stop them?). We push off at 5:15p though our scheduled take off time was 4:35pm. I have a ton of miles and had free vouchers so it only cost me $30 round trip total (this day's flights and the return flights in October). Yes, you get what you pay for but when it's so cheap why not? The less I spend per trip, the more I can travel. As a practice, I never book any tours or prepaid/set time events until at least the day after arrival, so I'm usually good. I also never book with them unless I can get a stupid cheap deal like the one above. I also tend to get free Priority Boarding so Yay me! I also never check any bags - carry on and personal max. No, I would never recommend them to anyone - especially if they are paying more than $100 each way (start to final destination). read more

I would give Frontier a minus review if I could. I woke up and found that Frontier had canceled our flight the morning we were to leave. We scrambled to rebook on another airline. Frontier did not reimburse us for the entire cost of our new flight, PLUS they did not refund us the baggage fee that I paid the night before when checking in--I was told the baggage fee was nonrefundable, even though Frontier cancelled the flight. I went to use the $200 voucher that they gave us because they only allowed 90 days to book another flight. In order not to lose this, I went to book a trip that I probably would not have taken otherwise. When I went to use the voucher I found that it HAD NO MONEY ON IT. After spending 20+ minutes talking to a customer service person, they helped me book the flight and then CHARGED ME A $10 FEE FOR BOOKING ONLINE!!! DON'T TRAVEL ON FRONTIER! Frontier Airlines is officially the most beat, rinky dink airline I have ever flown with. When I first purchased my ticket I remember being surprised by how cheap the flight was . I've never been more wrong in my f**king life. I went to check into my flight and was immediately flooded with all sorts of different advertisements. "Upgrade to a seat with extra leg room and laptop space for only an additional $180". Not exactly sure why you'd need laptop space when the airline DOES NOT OFFER WI-FI. It was also quite a treat to learn that the flight included no carry on items and would cost me an additional $130 to bring my bag on the flight (worth more than my suitcase and everything inside of it combined). The cherry on top of it all was there being no charging ports on the aircraft and my phone being dead the entire flight. No Wi-Fi, no free drinks or snacks, no charging ports, no carry on items, no NOTHING. If my only option in the future is Frontier Airlines, I think I'd rather walk. read more

My daughter and granddaughter were flying from Seattle to Phoenix the agent at the counter didn't know what the hell he was doing and did not put the flight number on my granddaughter's car seat so it never got put on the plane and it is now just lost somewhere they have no idea where it's at or how they're even going to find it they made my daughter wait 2 hours at the Phoenix Airport only to give her a car seat that was too small for my granddaughter who is four and the car seat was meant for a 2-year-old it allowed them to get her home but my daughter was not comfortable having her in that seat but really had no choice . They provide no options to speak to a live representative over the phone yet they just hide behind their chat service and then refuse to provide any assistance . I am disgusted by the way the airlines has handled this situation and I hope no one else has The Misfortune of flying with them . SHOULD BE A ZERO. I will NEVER book with this airline ever again!!! Customer gouging and service is atrocious. Gouging: $60 for a pre-booked carry-on? Or $99 at the gate??? $3.50 for water? And it's arbitrary whether or not you have a free personal item or not. They advertise as cheap but after you add all the gouging, it's less expensive to go with United, American or Delta. Customer service: you have to wait forever after jumping through 967 hoops to speak to an actual person. This is after I tried the "chat assistant", which claimed to not understand a word I said. Then I waited for a person online, and while they were searching for answers I was dropped for "inactivity" 3X!! That's when I got tired of restating my problem over and over and over, and asked for a live rep. I waited on hold for an hour, listening to "for faster service, please visit us online", which was maddening because I had tried that for two hours beforehand. When I did get to speak someone, I had a very hard time understanding him, even after I said "I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time understanding you". When I finally conveyed my problem, he suggested that I cancel my return flight and rebook for 85.00. Since I was having such trouble trying to do this online, I asked if he could do that for me live. After putting me on hold again, he came back with I can do this, but it will be an additional 30.00. Gouging deeper and deeper! When I was trying to explain the situation more fully, I was hung up on. Livid, I went back online and tried to cancel and rebook, but the rebook was actually closer to 200.00! And I COULD NOT reverse the cancelation. So, chat line with another live person, and ultimately, it was Nope, I can't go against corporate policy. SUCH A MESS. Frontier stole almost $1,500 from me and I will never book with them again. They are using this COVID19 pandemic to take advantage of their customers and steal from them. My partner and I had a trip to see his family planned in April 2020. My kids were going to meet his family for the first time. The military put restrictions on his ability to travel and we were forced to cancel our trip in March due to COVID19. He is not on our reservation because he is stationed in a different state and Frontier does not fly to that state. When I called and requested a refund I was told they were not providing refunds, just airline credits. I was just relieved I didnt lose the $1400+ I had spent on airfare. So I earmarked that for a later trip to see his family. We began planning to reschedule our trip in August if restrictions were lifted. Fast forward to now that restrictions are being lifted from military personnel. I go to find the email to see how to use my credit. Well, it turns out IT EXPIRED IN JUNE. I called customer service and was told a refund can only be given within 24 hours of the cancellation. So I should have requested it within 24 hours. When I told them I requested it at the time of the cancellation they said they had no way to verify that. So I asked for the credit to be reinstated, at which point I was informed extensions are only granted if requested prior to expiration. Of course this is RIDICULOUS. So I say, I understand you can't help me. Please transfer me to someone with more authority so that I can get my refund. I'm then informed that they are NOT ALLOWED TO TRANSFER ANY CALLS TO SUPERVISORS THAT REGARD REFUNDS. So I ask for the supervisor's direct number. I'm told he doesnt have a direct number. I ask how people reach him. I'm told it is by calling the 801.401.9000 number and then requesting the person by name. So I ask for his name. "Dan". I ask for a last name. I am declined. I ask, how can I call Dan if I dont have his las name? Is he the only Dan that works in the entire Frontier company? And I'm told he is the only supervisor named Dan. I ask for the CRs name and employee number which he provides and he repeats several script lines he has already repeated multiple times and hangs up. So I call the number and ask for Dan. I'm asked for Dan's last name. I explain the conversation I had with the previous rep. She begins repeating scripted lines much like the first, but insists she cannot connect me to Dan without a last name. SO I give her the employee name and employee number and tell her it is his supervisor. She leaves the call for about 10 minutes and returns to tell me she cannot connect me without a last name. Repeats her script and hangs up. I call a 3rd time and explain that I would like to leave feedback. I begin hearing the same scripted lines. "Unfortunately this reservation has already been cancelled in March" "This credit has already passed its expiration in June" "I will document your concern and this call will not be escalated any further" I asked this person if Frontier was actually stealing my $1400 by refusing to escalate my concern. The call was promptly disconnected without the scripted "Thank you and have a nice day." This is beyond the worst customer service I have ever received. This is a policy of outright theft. I will never ever book with Frontier again. And I encourage you not to either. They are using this COVID19 pandemic to take advantage of their customers and rob them of the money and trust they have put into the airline when purchasing airfare. They had us wait at a gate, so we could get on a bus to go to our plane where they shoved us in like sardines (over-capacity). There was an older lady in a wheel chair by the door, and when the bus stopped, they pushed our out carelessly face first! The entire bus was appalled because she could have fallen out and they were very reckless with her. Then we get to our plane from the bus and have to walk up this ramp from the parking lot to board.. ‍ 4. We arrived 2 hours late coming from Denver to Seattle 5. THEY LOST OUR LUGGAGE! Not one, but both of our checked bags were nowhere to be found after waiting at the baggage claim for an hour. We went to find a representative to ask where our bags were and all we found was a spirit airline rep that said 'weird they usually have someone standing around baggage claim but she's not here..' so we finally tracked her down and she took down our info and said she would call in the morning when they knew where out luggage is. 2 (again). We did not receive any kind of call/email the following day and called customer service who was rude and unhelpful on the phone. This lady said we have to file a lost baggage claim online (which the representative on site did not tell us). The lady in the phone was very rude and unhelpful so we asked to speak to her supervisor. Instead of transferring us to a supervisor she said 'they will only give you the same information I'm giving you' and refused to transfer us. So here we are 13 hours after our flight landed with no clue where our luggage is and nobody willing to help. Do yourself and your friends/fam a favor and DO NOT FOY FRONTIER, unless you like rude people, late flights and lost luggage. read more

I tried Frontier airlines for the first time because the price was right.... I should have checked their yelp rating first. The tickets are cheaper but the bag fees add up. The seat don't recline and it felt like they were bunched closer together than other airlines. This would be my first and last time flying frontier. Oh, and I'm on day 2 of them losing by luggage. Update 1/2/17: two of the three lost bags were delivered. Still missing one. They said they'll refund the baggage fees. Still won't consider flying with them in the future.. ever. Update 1/3/17: Still missing the third bag. Called in to get an update. On hold for over an hour now. Will go WAY out of my way not to fly with Frontier. Update 1/4/17: Bag still missing. On hold for 80 minutes. No help at all. Can't pay me to fly Frontier. Update 1/5/17: They told me they will call me back. Surprise! Nothing. No word. Update 1/12/17: After a whole week to calling the Frontier Customer service center and waiting over an hour every time and then telling me that they contacted the airports and was told to wait for a phone call from then that never came. It was so hilarious because United Airlines ended up delaying to departure for more than two hours due to mechanical problems, we agreed that we will still rather to stuck with this delaying than using Frontier Airlines again. It was so surreal to meet with other strangers on different company and discussed about same horrible experiences about Frontier Airlines that we will never use Frontier ever again. I've heard horror stories about their customer service...but i've been flying on Frontier for years now and am happy to say I have never had a problem with my flights or customer relations to this date *knock on wood* For cheap flights Frontier is generally my go to. Better deals than the rest of the bunch -- even Southwest. Yes, a direct flight is pretty much impossible unless your final destination is Denver, but my flights through these guys have always been timely so a layover has never been a big issue for me. Checked baggage fees do apply -- but maybe you'll luck out and have the nice employee at the gate who checked our bags for my latest flight free of charge. Thanks lady! Seats are comfortable enough -- I was actually able to sleep on the plane at least! I also am not left with weird back pain and butt hurt like United Airline's seats seem bestow upon me. No more free cookies these days which is a bummer, but snacks can be purchased and they give you plenty of free drink on your flights. The flight attendants have always been nice -- if not a little inefficient when loading/unloading their human cargo off the planes (seriously, what is with the clusterfucks always at the front of the plane?). Do NOT book a flight with Frontier no matter how cheap the ticket looks! Frontier's policy is to squeeze out money in sneaky, sometimes unavoidable ways and make the travel experience miserable. Here is the trifecta of horror that was our Frontier flight. 1. Trapped Customers at Bag Checking We had chosen to pre-check our baggage (the cheapest option) and we had arrived 3 hours early, hoping for that pleasant little cushion of time to sip wine and relax after checking bags/security and before boarding. These hopes were dashed by Frontier's cheapness. We arrived to an empty booth and what would end up being 2 hour+ wait before anyone showed up to check our bags. We stood in a line with many other unhappy customers and watched people who had booked other airlines go through their lines quickly and then presumably get to enjoy a little shopping or pre-flight cocktail, while we stood or sat or (in a few cases) lay on the floor in a line that stretched to the entrance. 2. Unexplained Delays We were disheartened in line to receive an email update that our flight was delayed. This meant an even longer wait before anyone arrived to check our bags. We were nervous about making our connecting flight but there was no one to talk to about the recourse if this occurred. When we did finally check our bags and asked about the connecting the flight, the check-in person laughed and said, "Good luck with that." Then we had to rush to get through security and find our gate (they changed the gate on us 3 times). We made a snap decision to board the plane with still no answers about what would happen if we missed the connecting flight. The one saving grace was that our 2nd connecting flight ended up being even more delayed than the first so we didn't miss it. The flight was supposed to have departed at 12:00 A.M. They boarded us at 2 A.M. with no apologies or acknowledgement of the delay. I fell asleep and dreamt that the flight had taken off. I woke up because I felt uncomfortably hot and very thirsty. I was surprised to find us still grounded. My fiancé told me the flight had sat for an hour. It was just passengers and attendants in a still plane with no air conditioning. It was so hot. Kids were crying and begging for water. Adults swore first under their breath and more loudly as time went on. Then such sweet relief when the air conditioning turned on. No explanation or apology for the wait. And we were off! 3. Testing the Limits on Monetizing Human Discomfort The soda, snacks & extra water are for purchase only. The seats are hard and very uncomfortable-as in me and my fiancé were too sore to sit for a couple hours after the flight uncomfortable. If I remember correctly, there were seat cushions available for purchase, so Frontier basically wanted us to pay extra for the rest of the seat. We also had to pay for guaranteed seats on the plane as that is not included in the ticket price. Each person is allowed one personal item such as a purse or backpack or laptop for free. Carry-on bags cost more than checked baggage. We won't be flying Frontier ever again. read more

Worst airline I've ever used. My flight left early without waiting for a family of four. Rude and uncaring staff that didn't use common sense or common courtesy. I've been very impressed with Jet Blue, Alaska, Virgin even Delta Frontier is an absolute last resort for me going forward. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. WORST airline ever! Where do I begin? Every part of our travel on Frontier was a negative one. Thought I was getting a great deal to fly from SEA to CVG for the holidays to see my family. Next flight I will pay extra just to not have to deal with the hassle of this airline. As a seasoned traveler (at least monthly flights every year for personal and professional reasons) I avoid checking baggage if possible. Not affordable on this airline as they CHARGE you for anything in addition to a single personal item. Ok, plus they don't notify you of their baggage policy until you're ready to check-in for your flight (read: they already have the money you paid for your ticket). Never have I experienced an airline with such covert policies on how to screw you out of more $$$. Another inconvenience factor, you cannot do online check-in, print your boarding pass, and proceed through security as you can on every other airline. You have to make a pit stop at the airport check-in counter to drop your aforementioned forced checked bag. Once at the check-in counter, you have to deal with the incompetence of gate agents who are unable to locate your reservation by name, photo ID, or confirmation number. No wonder the lines for check-in are epically longer than maybe even Disney. Ok, bags dropped, boarding passes FINALLY found a printed, easy sailing now, right? WRONG! Once at the gate, the boarding process is unorganized, unfriendly, and gate (or shall i say hate) agents even respond sarcastically to passengers "calm down, at least you have a seat on the plane, quit overreacting" said to a passenger concerned when the agent grabbed his ticket and told him she was changing his seat. Once on the plane with my ONE personal item, because I refuse to pay $100 for a standard carry-on bag, I think having a nice soda, juice, or maybe even a coffee if I'm feeling frisky, would be nice. Nope, not to the tune of $1.99 for a 12oz can of soda, or single cup of coffee. This ain't Starbucks, Frontier. Additional rude staff on the flight who state "I get sick of saying the safety warnings just as much as you get sick of agreeing to them" when my fiancé interjected "yes" to his agreement to assist while sitting in an exit row if needed. Once we finally arrived from this miserable experience, might I add 25 minutes late to our destination with no acknowledgement of this fact, our baggage took another 30 minutes to arrive at the baggage claim. No good all around, Frontier. My suggestion, revamp your business model, or you'll continue to see customers drop like flies after a single experience. I'll stick with the always solid experience of traveling on Alaska Airlines and suggest other travelers pay the extra bucks to not have to deal with such an enormous hassle from start to finish! read more

I have flown countless times on almost every (domestic) airline and a few international. Frontier is absolutely the WORST airline I have ever dealt with. Is this the airline that hires all the rejects from other airlines? Everyone from the check in counter to customer service was unbelievably inhumane! My wife, 8 month old, and I were traveling to Sioux Falls from Seattle. The first flight to Sioux Falls was at best unimpressive. We waited 35 minutes for half a glass of water which was never refilled. Unlike any other airline I have travelled in my whole existence on earth, they charge for EVERYTHING, including exorbitant baggage charges. The seats seem extra small. I am 5'11" and have never had my knees crammed against the seat in front of me, but I guess they have to squish those last 3 poor b***ards in. I wish I could comment on the returning flight but the mutants at the check in counter would not let us check in because we arrived 44.5 minutes early. They have, and are very proud of, their "strict 45 minute policy". We arrive at the Sioux Falls airport at 5:51 a.m., which has a total of 8 gates, for our 6:30 flight. There was a line of about 15 people waiting to be checked in. The nice lady in front of us asked if we were on the flight and we replied yes. She told us the lady had just collected everyone's ID to check them in. We proceeded to take our ID's to the counter, but were refused by the representatives. I was very confused so I asked to see a manager. The woman rudely told me she was busy and would be available soon. I waited for a few minutes and after the line was gone, ALL the counter attendants walked in the back never to be seen again! All they gave me was a card to rebook a flight (which was not until 2 days later). After leaving the airport infuriated, I call the number. They were more useless than the real people at the airport. I guess every other airline won't have anything to do with frontier because they don't have one single agreement with any other airline on the planet to rebook with! The fake persons' supervisor's manager (not a typo) did nothing to help but just kept saying they had "a strict 45 minute policy". So my options are: 1. Buy another ticket with another airline ($1274) 2. Have a credit towards a future frontier flight, with a $75 transfer charge 3. Wait two days for the next flight 4. Drive to Omaha, Nebraska (3 hrs) to get on a flight 5. File a complaint the next day because they were not open today Long story short, do yourself a favor and pay the extra 65 bucks for another airline because it's not only the WORST airline, it is the worst customer based company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. 1 star is way too high of a rating! read more

I was headed to Cleveland and Frontier was the only airline with a direct flight from Seattle. This is a rarity, so my wife and I thought it was a no brainer- no transfers? Great. Initially, we were incredibly confused as to why the supposed "budget airline" had all kinds of additional fees when picking out our seats. We didn't realize that there wasn't even an option to recline in their standard seats and as we were taking a red eye to try and catch some Z's while flying east, that inch or two that lets you relax a little easier made more of an impact than I could ever have imagined. It's basically like riding the Greyhound of airlines. They upcharge you for literally everything and don't even do a beverage service to give you a complimentary glass of water- WATER. That will cost you money when flying Frontier. We were also delayed out of Cleveland flying home to Seattle and were not updated on this until about 10 minutes before our scheduled departure. Seriously? And there was not a flight attendant/desk person in sight the entire time. I was willing to pay and "upgrade" my seat for the flight home since the ride there was so uncomfortable but for and extra $45, all that was going to buy me was a smidge more leg room- still no reclining seat. WOW. THANKS. #no I would rather transfer 3 times (something I have actually had to do once before) than ever ride this airline again. By the time you "upgrade" your seat to one with even a respectable amount of legroom and that allows you that privilege to recline, you will end up spending just as much (if not more, with their additional baggage fees) as almost any other airline. Flying is not everyone's favorite thing and I get that it's not some sort of luxury experience or anything but these bare bones flights provided enough discomfort and poor customer service that I would never recommend it to anyone. Frontier, you are truly not any kind of deal and no direct flight in the WORLD is ever going to get me on one of your aircrafts again. read more

Horrible all around! Arrived 2 hrs early like any other flight. The ticketing agent was late 45 min which I was told they usualy run 90 minutes latr. They lost our gate check car seat. Contacted numerous agents at both Seatac and Denver to no avail or returned calls from the "mamager". The flight attendants were racist to white people and they charged for in flight water! Cheap, ghetto and unprofessional. Now i have to take these people to small claims court to recover the lost car seat. Do yourself a huge favor and dont fly with Frontier. Pay the extra $50 to be treated like a human! read more
