From Scratch Bakery and Kitchen is a small local business sharing homemade food with big South American flavor. Everything we make is from scratch, made in small batches with real ingredients, time, and a lot of love. Our recipes are inspired by the foods we grew up with and the desserts that have been passed down in our family for generations. We keep them traditional because that is where the magic is, the process brings out the best flavor.
We are known for our Bolivian salteñas, juicy baked pastries filled with savory chicken or beef stew, and our warm rollo de queso with a rich cheesy center. For something sweet, customers love our alfajores filled with dulce de leche, our tres leches, chocoflan, dulce de leche brownies, and our signature cakes like Grandma’s layer cake with chocolate icing, Hawaiian carrot cake, and German chocolate cake.
What makes us unique is the feeling behind the food. It is homemade, comforting, exciting, and full of culture. We want every bite to feel special, like something you would get from a family kitchen, not a factory. We are proud of what we are building and we are excited to bring our flavors to the community through farmers markets, pop ups, and catering.

Our story began sooo many years ago, with family recipes and South American flavors shared in home kitchens and passed down through generations. What started as cooking for loved ones became a tradition, with recipes perfected over time and made for birthdays, gatherings, and special moments.
From Scratch Bakery and Kitchen was created to bring those same flavors to the community. After a year of testing and refining through private orders and local support, we reached our official launch and began serving at farmers markets, pop-ups, and events. Today, we keep the traditional methods and homemade taste that started in 1980, making everything from scratch in small batches with care, pride, and love.
Meet the Business Owner: Maria E.
From Scratch Bakery and Kitchen is owned and led by a passionate food maker who grew up surrounded by South American flavors, family gatherings, and recipes that were never written down, only taught by watching, tasting, and repeating. Cooking and baking were always about love, patience, and bringing people together, not shortcuts.
Inspired by recipes passed down through generations since 1980, the owner built From Scratch as a way to honor that history while creating something meaningful for the community. After spending time testing, learning, and rebuilding through private orders, the business was officially launched with a focus on farmers markets, pop-ups, and catering.
The heart behind From Scratch is simple: make food the right way, support local communities, and create opportunities for others. Every item is made with care, tradition, and pride, with the hope that each bite feels like it came from a family kitchen.
