The smoked meat was pastrami and the sandwiches were good. The soup was flavorful, but the gravy on the poutine was not very flavorful. The buckwheat crepes with maple syrup were sublime as well. The service was even better than the food. The owner and his son both spent time serving us, and were so welcoming and made us feel at home. The French phases I'd memorized were unnessary, as they greeted us in English (I guess we look American). When they found out it was our first visit to Montreal, they had many recommendations for us. I can't imagine a better way to start the day in a truly amazing city than here with a tradional Quebecois breakfast. I cannot recommend this institution enough! Merci beaucoup!

The pita authetique is my go-to -- has the best most delicious, light, and creamy tzatziki sauce and delicious meat. The Pitarifque poutine is very yummy as well. A large is definitely LARGE and worth it especially if you're hungry. The gravy and fries are top notch. The deluxe burger all dressed is a Montreal staple! Comes with bacon, cheese, lettuce tomatoes, mayo, mustard, onion, insanely yummy spicy peppers, and 1/2 pound or so of fresh ground beef patties. They also have beer on tap -- IPA or lager -- small one is only $3.50! I pretty much eat here every week after or before the gym -- way better food and prices than patiti patata across the street IMO, although don't get me wrong, that place is also very good too.

What makes it different is the gravy. It's not a heavy dark/beef gravy like you'd expect, it's a much lighter, but still flavourful almost rotisserie-like gravy (reminiscent of the gravy at Swiss Chalet but in the best way). Fresh cheese curds (to be expected here) and fries had a good texture (just enough bite to it, soft and pillowy on the inside). Would highly recommend, great price for a large portion as well!

They serve a unique my motor which is a mixture of cider and orange juice. I had the duck burger for dinner and we came back from brunch where I had their hangover platter which is basically everything. French toast, sausage, bacon, toast, crepes, eggs and ham. The ham is a show stopper. It's so delicious. And the duck burger. Well that was like having a religious experience. For only $15 you get a large portion of smoked duck with mushrooms and cheese on a hamburger bun. It's so juicy and flavourful. I can't do it justice here you just have to try it.

MA-Am-M Bolduc feels kind of like home?!…read more Flipping through the menu I just not sure what to order, choices too many choices. With a small establishment with 1 cook and a small kitchen, it does makes me wonder how could that be possible. Breakfast/Brunch with eggs, bacon, crepes and french toast ($11.99) is disappointing... a lot of food, a lot of carbs... everything is luke warm. It definitely taste like and look like something I made at home. Should I be excited? My Yelp friend's poutine and burger looks depressing... but at least it is specials for $7.95. BTW, I think he kind of like the maple syrup... when he started dipping my whole wheat toast in that... I guess he must still be hungry after he ate his food. At least the waiter is nice, the coffee is good and the hand made scrapbook menu is cute!

Maybe you wouldn't expect this longstanding brunch restaurant to "transform" from N'Oeuf to B'Oeuf…read morein the blink of an "egg" - but it does just that - three nights a week. With that single letter change comes a menu of --- dinner --- proportions; From tasty and smart appetizers like beet hummus and Chorizo pops to a signature (recipe) onion soup, then onto a fresh revisited Caesar salad leading into AAA steak, various seafood and butter soft chicken dishes. Stands outs are the shrimp with saffron rice and fresh and distinguished (beef or salmon) tartar. Two dishes that are sure to warm you up are the seafood chowder which is bisque based but still quite filling, and their Poutine which is over the top huge - comes in about and 8" iron skillet and fit for two or three to share. I definitely only made a dent in it. Note to self Poutine is much heavier when toppings added. Don't forget their excellent and sizeable chocolate lava cake to top it all off, but probably not on the night you order a Poutine for dinner. In that case they have a fruit plate (both in individual and group sizes). The family who run the restaurant being on site, makes for a good ambiance and surely shows their pride. In sum for a brunch restaurant to even attempt opening in the evening - shows real dedication - if there was such a thing a bonus star for that, they would get it. I hope with continued hard work the goals come true. Their dinner offering is more than could be expected, and of a quality that deserves tasting - not only imagining. Indeed what's new, is their dinner "food".
