    Hamburger, Onions, Mushrooms

My fiancee and I only have 3 nights in Montreal and one of the things on her must get list was Poutine. Well it was between this place and Resto La Banquise, and this spot won the coin toss. As spoken by other yelpers, let me re-iterate some key points. The menu is quite possibly one of the most colorful hand made works of art that doubles as a menu. The interior is similarly decorated as well. You would never think that a place like this existed in such a location, but drive through a residential part of town, and then boom, there it is just sitting on the corner. Server was friendly and offered us a selection of their beers on tap and information on what they had for the evening. Eventually my fiancee settled on being a traditionalist with the standard grand Regulaire, while I went the man route and got the grand Bourguignonne, although I had them leave out the mushrooms. Pics were taken of both dishes and just staring at these took a year off our lives. Mine could best be described as meat on a plate with starch under it. The gravy was excellent and seasoning of the beef was tasty. Since I am not Canadian, I cannot say whether the cheese "squeaked" or not so I deferred to my fiancee who says "It didn't squeak but it was still fresh" you purists apparently will understand that.. She enjoyed her traditional poutine, however felt that the fries could have been a little less greasy, more cheese on the plate, and that the gravy was perfect. Definitely one of her top 3 poutines shes had so far to date.

If the crowds in a place indicate its awesomeness - Ma-am-m Bolduc's wins hands-down. Planning on poutine, i was completely unprepared for the extensive breakfast menu which will have me returning on another Sunday for brunch. Thoughts on the Bourguignonne poutine - more cheese please. The gravy and fries are perfect, but poutine needs curd cheese in copious amounts.

Great place for brunch!! We were skeptical about this place because of the reviews at first but it's the best hidden gem of Montreal, we went for brunch at 10:30am in a Saturday, no wait!! Great food and service. The place is so artistic and cozy, although I was sad they didn't have an English menu :( I wonder why? but huge selection of food and the waiter was patient enough to explain us the menu since we didn't understood the menu. Will return to try other items on the menu, also very fair prices compared to other brunch places.

"Lendemain de Veille", or "The Hangover". It's a good choice if you can't decide what you want.

We went here for brunch, and had a pretty good time. The service was not bad, but rather the waitstaff seemed to be overlapping, and weren't sure for a while if we'd been served or not. So maybe it could be more efficient, but they were patient and sweet about our wanting to learn French (and not knowing it yet). The menu is very sweet - hand drawn and colorful, with tons of choices. I got "the hangover" breakfast plate, and it was delicious, with (gasp!) a good portion of meat! We also had the burger florentine, which came with a small side salad and fries. My only complaint (but it is a big one) is that the lettuce on the burger seemed unwashed, and had LOTS of rotten spots on it. Boo. The crowds are a bit thick, but it's workable, and the residential location does give off a unique, friendly vibe.

They have a large menu that's colourful and hand-drawn (then photocopied).

Outstanding poutine and burgers here, and the place has many breakfast and lunch options (eggs, omelettes, crepes, French toast, bagels, salads, desserts). The vibe is funky. The staff is friendly. The clientele is hip. I'll definitely go back.

As for the food, yes lots of burger, but also offerings that are in regular burger places like salads, poutine and such. The place is on the second floor and span on two floor with an outdoor terrasse (I think on both floor). If you are in a wheelchair or can't go up stairs, you can't reach the restaurant. There's no elevator anywhere (although I don't even know where they could fit it). The place is quite small, like most restaurant near that place. The bathroom are only on the second (third) floor. I took the supersonic burger with fries. The fries are generic fried brown fry you get from corner shack but less greasy (in fact I didn't taste the grease/oil). The burger I took was very good. It felt different then regular burger I take at other place where you can taste the grease or something that make the burger heavy. I finished eating it and while I was full, it felt like I had a light filling meal. My girlfriend took another burger I forgot the name and she really liked it. She took it with the salads which is mostly just greens. You can substitute the buns for lettuce for free. There's also different sides offering, some with extras frees like poutine. The service this time was good. No big wait, waitress came at multiple time to check to see if everything was ok and to refill our glass.

We walked around a lot in this area and noticed that Dunn's looked old school and had smoked meat so we gave it a try. The wood and leather booths gave this 99 year old establishment an old school vibe. We were seated pretty quickly in a small booth. Hockey was on TV so that's a good sign. I was not super hungry so I ordered the smoked meat on a bagel, Andrew got the sandwich. The food came out fast but not overly fast. My bagel sandwich was tasty. I liked the thin cut of meat. The fries were as soft as mashed potatoes. They were warm but not close to crispy. Andrew liked his sandwich as well. The bathroom was quite the experience, it was at the bottom of a long, steep staircase in the basement. It worked, lighting was ok, but it was a climb out of there! Come here for a simple quick bite and stick to the sandwich. It's good!

You can also reserve room if you are a big group. There's also a restaurant with various food that we didn't try. We didn't try the arcade, we ran out of time on our schedule but we will come back. The arcade work with a card where you accumulate point that you can spent on things in the gift shop. Like many arcade, the more token you buy, the cheaper the cost per token is. We took the combo that is 1 game of bowling, 1 game of laser tag and 1 round of mini golf. The bowling is with big balls. There's a little ramp for the kids or those that just need a little help. There's only one though so you have to share it across the 8 alley. The bowling itself is nice, alley are straight and clean. There's a wide range of ball weight that should be ok for everyone. The mini golf here is special. It's not a less put parcours, it's a most point. Point are done in 2 ways. Once you put, there's a 60sec timer. The time left once you enter the cup is bonus point. The other way is through the course. There's special tricks that you can do to earn extra points and even lose some. It's a very nice twist and it was fun. We ended with a game of laser tag. I saw the maximum occupancy is 28 players splitter in 2 or 3 teams. We were 6 and honestly, the room is small. Unless there's some hidden wall that get open for more player, I wouldn't see much more then 10 players. 28 would be over crowded for sure. For us at 6, it was perfect. One thing is the room itself is dangerous. Like many laser tag room, it's dark. The problem is they put some stuff like ramp but without anything to show you the edge or worst, they put some theming. Half of us were hurt by the stage. I myself trip, while walking slowly down one of those ramp where I though it was going in a specific direction but no. I ended up falling face first, scratching my knees and nearly broking my finger. My girlfriend opened her elbow while edging a wall and our friend got some similar stuff happened. Another thing is they don't really explain you anything beside how to shoot. There's a lot of stuff in the room that you can shoot and I never knew if it did anything beside some animation. Like a wall that seems like maybe a forcefield that would maybe disable enemy shield if they walk through? I don't know. The gun had 2 way to shoot, a long laser or a short range scatter shot like a shotgun. Was fun to be able to cycle through mode. We still had fun, but the state was dangerous in my opinion. It is a nice place to have a fun spend money. Kids will love it for sure and grown up too
