I ate there a few hours ago, and the food was delicious. I'm excited as a Parrot regular to have somewhere else to go thats a little healthier than Mr. Z's and still has a decent price point. Whatever you do, order the pork tacos.....they might be the best on the island. The owners were super friendly the whole time I was there. Can't wait to try the arepas next time. Cute little place. The pork tacos are delicious! The Cuban burger had such great flavor. The arepas were okay. It was not stuffed with cheese as they described. It was a perfectly square piece of melted cheese on top. It also did not have as much flavor as I'm used to -my mother in laws Colombian arepas are still my number one :) read more

It was a hot October day, it was mid 80's and a Sangria, listed on the menu, sounded incredibly refreshing! No Sangria. Boo. Then, so many fish items listed on the menu, no fish available. So, I asked about the shrimp, yup. Score? No, I ordered the Key West Shrimp sandwich. Sounded delicious! We are in the Keys for a bachelorette party, and all five girls ordered a Cuban burger. (Cook recommend we try the tacos, as they are his favorite). The sandwich was a huge! It has a little spice, but was bearable. It's a combo of pork and ground beef, optional cheese and egg, potato chips, and perfectly soft Cuban bread. Open until 11pm, it's great for any time! Wow! Love, love, loved the carna Asada taco's with the balsamic vinegar on top! Highly recommend. Also had the pork and chicken tacos, which paled in comparison to the steak in my mind. Frozen sangria was nice, but beware, there is a dash of cinnamon on top. I think would have preferred to skip that, but it wasn't offensive. We also tried the corn cake with cheese (don't remember the actual name of the dish), but I thought it should have been cooked a little more. Definitely worth the stop for some grub!! read more

Artfully prepared Cuban variations done in a casual unique style. I was looking for vegetarian options and was completely fulfilled by the veggie tacos that contained batter dipped and fried avacado and a tangy red cabbage slaw. This is a great find! The food is really flavorful and yummy. Got the Frita Confundita and loved it! The way the restaurant is run is awkward though. It is very small which already makes it uncomfortable, then it is confusing as to whether it is run as a sit down restaurant or more of a carry out thing. The food is cooked in a food truck and served in disposable containers, yet the staff act as waiters. In my opinion the customer should order and pay at the window and find their own seat and just get a number for their food that is called when it is done because the current style is confusing. read more

Delicious Cuban food! We tried the Cuban sandwich, conch fritters, and spicy corn on the cob. All of it was amazing. Probably the best Cuban sandwich I've had. We had never tried conch fritters before and we weren't sure what to expect, but the flavor was great and not too greasy or anything. Stopped by Fritas today for the first time and was pleasantly greeted and handed a menu with lots of recommendations. I ordered the Frita Burger with cheese and an egg with a side of the roasted corn. All I can say is wow. The burger (which is a unique mixture of spiced beef and pork) with all of its components was incredible. The corn was also really tasty with lime and cojita cheese melted on top after being roasted. I wish I didn't find this place until my last day in Key West or I would surly go back again. One of the best (and least expensive) meals I've ever had on the island! read more

I wanted to love Frita's so badly!!!! I couldn't however, due to the heavy wait time we experience when waiting for our food. The place is very small, only about 20 people could dine here at once. We were seated in the sun (totally fine, I get it's key west and it's warm here the majority of the time), however it got pretty hot when we waited about a half hour for the food. We didn't expect the long wait considering the place was so small. Our Cuban sandwiches/burgers were great, but a little more hospitality would go a long way! read more
