When I stumbled upon some coffee art from this coffee shop on instagram, I knew it deserved a bookmark. Having arrived to New York on a cold rainy day made the walk to this coffee shop so much more worth it. Frisson Espresso is a cute tiny coffee shop with lots of coffee themed wall art. The baristas were friendly and helpful. I ordered a mocha latte which came with beautiful coffee art. Even though mochas are usually on the sweeter side, I love that this one wasn't overly sweet, it was perfect. read more

I met up with a friend at Frisson Espresso on a Saturday morning. The café is quite narrow, but it has four two seater tables and ample stools at the bar. I ordered a regular cappuccino. They first mistook my order for to-go rather than to-stay, but they remade the drink with ease. The baristas at Frisson are friendly. The service is quick, and the café is clean. You can expect a solid cup of coffee at Frisson. The prices are average. One perk is if you order a regular coffee to-stay, they give free refills. I would recommend Frisson if you're in the area! read more

Very nice independent coffee shop, it has a very cool vibe and the usual suspects (aka weird characters) there's also cocked and pastries. The coffee is a bit on the acidic side for me but if that is your taste, this is a good one read more

I come here just for the drip coffee on my off days. It's no nonsense coffee and I like to people watch from the seats at the window. Do yourself a favor and get it to stay and enjoy it in one of their ceramic mugs. read more

Just a short walk from Times Square, this coffee shop in Hell's Kitchen is a gem! In a quiet residential neighborhood, their cappuccino's amazing with a beautiful design and their other items also look and taste delicious and fairly priced. I came here on a rainy afternoon to get some work done, and Frisson could not be more perfect. As I approached the counter, the baristas were very very friendly and really left an impression on my experience here! Their matcha latte with oat milk was just what I needed. The shop is small, simple, and quaint. I love their window seat and wish I could have been lucky enough to snatch that seat. This is probably not the meeting spot for a big group of people, but for those flying solo, it's a great little coffee shop. read more

This is such a cute coffee shop and was such a wonderful find. They had WiFi and was really nice to sit by the window and get some work done. We got our coffees with oat milk and the latte art was so nice. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the Times Square area. read more

My 10yr old and I both loved this coffee shop when we were in the city for a weekend. Both baristas were friendly, funny, engaging in conversation, and made our drinks and food super fast. Best croissant I've had in a long time! And the iced latte hit the spot during a June heat wave. read more

This is a cute little spot. Friendly people and great drinks with awesome latte art. My drink was nice and hot and taste was great. I didn't get to sit down for there was no room. One lady was sitting doing her work taking a table up. Which is a pet peeve of mine. Other than that great experience and would definitely come back! read more

What an amazing small coffee shop where most customers are regulars and know the people in the shop!! The decor is simple and welcoming, it seats about 20 people and has 2-3 people working the counter. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the amazing barista who helped me does an amazing work of art on the lattes with the foam. I had to order a couple to see more of his designs!!! Really enjoyed the latte and Karachi latte here. Had a blueberry scone for breakfast and that was a perfect choice also. Nice, moist, flaky and not too sweet. Loved this place as it just feels like you are part of their family. Great job team. read more

The best dang macchiato I've ever had. Extra stars for the kind barista who kept her cool in spite of a late-afternoon rush. Only downside: the canelé was decidedly not delish. My small man's hot choc was delish, and the designs in the foam of the hot drinks, delightful. read more

The coffee wasn't bad. I got an almond flat white and although the espresso used was a bit more citrusy than I like, I know that's a personal thing and others enjoy it. $4.50 is pretty average for NYC I think, but the cup was definitely smaller than what I'm used to. I finished it in maybe less than 10 minutes. Good place to meet up and chat. Not a super great place to work imo. There's tables, a bench, and stools, as well as outlets in the corner, which I was lucky enough to get a seat near, and free wifi, but because of how small but popular it is, it was far too loud for me to get anything done, even with headphones on. This has definitely become a new go-to for coffee meetings. I always get the chai latte with oat milk which is very nice. Place is small and has outlets that sort of work for your device charging needs. My colleague always gets the ham and cheese on a croissant which he loves. I enjoyed the scone but found the quiche too salty. read more

For over 10 years I've been an avid coffee drinker. I've been to Café Grumpy, B.Bottle, Stumptown, Irv. Farm, you name it, I've been there! However, I've never felt more inclined to give a coffee shop a yelp review that is until I started coming to Frisson. The staff here cares as much about the service as they do the espresso. One of the baristas brought my cappuccino and warm apple cardamom over to my window seat as I waited for a friend! Also, I love that they are so transparent as far as their pastry sources. It's great to know what you're paying for. I'm no stranger to Bien Cuit Bakery (they are delicious). I also love the mini pecan pies that Frisson serves from Las Delicias Bakery (well known for their gluten free options). Although my 9-5 is super exciting (ha), coming here is truly a highlight of my work week. I cannot ask for better quality, overall. I am working on my second loyalty card!!! read more

This is by far the best coffee shop in this neighborhood. I have tried their second location located at 3rd ave and my experience was amazing and therefore I was around hells kitchen neighborhood and decided to stop by at 47th st and again, I was delighted. This latte was superb and I just cant wait to go back. Thanks to the great baristas at Frisson Espresso I was able to enjoy a delicious latte with a special design for valentines day. This place is fairly close to Times Square but didn't scream as a tourist trap so we picked this for our morning coffee. The baristas are efficient and get your order to you quickly but I was fairly disappointed by my vanilla latte overall. The taste of any vanilla syrup was lacking and the latte had very little consistency. The service was good and the space is nice but with the amount of good coffee in NYC, I probably won't be returning. read more

I had a latte which came with some beautiful art and my friend had a black tea. We feel in love with this place whilst we spent a week in New York. We visited most mornings the staff made us feel so welcome and by our second visit they knew our order. For coffee lovers this is a place everyone must visit! All variables of espresso are available and while I really enjoyed me double espresso, I would recommend you to try the cappuccino too! It was just amazing. It is not a study/work place to hang out but the people working there, they are really helpful and friendly. read more

What a charming little coffee shop. Latte is so rich, satisfyingly tasty. The decor is minimalist but offers an excellent view of the street. Sitting by the window with a book and a latte is nearly paradise, for Bach was missing, instead some atrocious Britany Spear was blabbering incoherently through the speakers. read more

I have been to New York many times and never seem to have found the place to enjoy the perfect cup of coffee. Well, I am glad to have had the Frisson Espresso experience! The latte was perfect. The canelle was perfect. The ambiance was perfect. I will be back many more times this trip and on my next trips! read more
