Such a sad state of a once thriving restaurant. There was one other table the whole time we were there. The waitress asked for our drink order. I ordered diet soda. She then asked if I wanted diet cola or diet Mountain Dew. I said that sounds good and then she says we are out of diet mountain dew. We ordered two big boys and fries, one with no lettuce. We waited some time and she served two both with lettuce. She took one back and scraped off the lettuce. The sandwiches were fine. The crinkle fries were ice cold. It is incredibly unfortunate what Big Boy's have become. This location was dead with only one other table of two. The waitress seemed off and had a difficult time taking our very simple order. We both ordered the same thing, a big boy with fries. It was their special. My sandwich came out wrong and the fries were cold. I could also hear one of the employees, telling one of the other employees, how lazy they were and they would probably never amount to much. The interior was late 90's but clean. Frisch's Big Boys have been dwindling and this place tells the story. Needs an over all cleaning & updating. 1:00 pm and the place was empty. Seems to have sufficient staff but they weren't inclined to seat or wait on people. I decided to play it safe with just soup. We ordered 2 Big Boy platters one with French fries and one with onion rings one with Mac and cheese and one with apples. They both came with cold fries and the Mac an Cheese was also cold. the only thing hot was the apples. The Bid Boy sandwiches was like eating shoe leather, burnt and all dried out. Should of turned around when we went in. Hostess didn't know what she was doing had to ask wait staff how to seat 4 adults a 3 year old and a newborn. Once seated waiter took order which is about all that went well. I received my cup of vegetable soup which was older than the season. The corn in the soup was orange! Everyone else received their food and it was just as bad. The mashed potatoes had a hard crust on them as they were in its own bowl and must of been microwaved. Monday finished their meals. Not good at all. Stay away. read more

We stopped for an early supper and there were only few other diners. The cleanliness of the place is average, and the server was friendly but not so competent. Got a Big Boy platter and the bun looked a bit overdone, and the server said it got stuck in the toaster, well that was ok, but it would have looked better to get a new one. Also got the fish dinner and had to ask for tartar sauce and was supposed to come with garlic bread - I asked the server and first she said it didn't come with it then looked at the menu and said she would take care of it. Meals were ok but a bit pricey for what we got and with average service probably won't visit this one again. read more

One of my favorite casual dining locations to visit. Big Boy's has sentimental family value with me, so it always has a place in my home. It is not overly special in variety, flavor, or decor, but what it is, is a simple, friendly, and family oriented restaurant to go to. I tend to always get either the Fish & Chips or the Chicken strip dinner platter, and I always enjoy the endless soup. This is not a place for a date or for dressing up. It is more so a location where you could easily imagine seeing Tarantino and his film squad rolling up on and planning their next move. A vintage old school 50s juke diner, minus the jukebox. In the tune of music, they do play great 50-60s songs, and I never have to worry about hearing the latest craze and repetitive radio hits. Service is always kind, and I never have to worry about having to complain. They are always checking in on you and questioning if you need a refill of drink or soup. Even if you food temperature is not right, they are glad to heat it up or change it for you. While it is not a place one brags about, I highly enjoy every visit to Big Boy's, and I am always left full and happy. read more

I'm going to go out on a limb and give them 3 stars. I think of Frisch's and Big Boy as a 2 star place walking in the door but I go here often. I always check the salad bar before I order and this place usually has fresh lettuce and produce. I have passed on some funky looking mushrooms once and stayed away from some slimey cucumbers. Service is always fast and efficient. Unlimited Sodium comes free with the soup. Pretty sure it's right out of a can. There are not many restaurants on the north side of BG to give them competitions. I hear the grill at Al-mar Bowling Alley is decent. There are also a couple of Chinese buffets but that's another risk taking adventure. The mall offers very little and the places change every few months because of low volume. read more

The one and only time I've been here was when I first moved the Bowling Green. I went with my father. We entered and sat ourselves and nobody even greeting us. We waited 20 minutes with not even a sign from the staff that they saw us walk in--and they never even offered us drinks. With left at the 22 minute mark--without even a sign from the staff that we were on the premises. Avoid at all costs. If you want a sit down restaurant, you'd be better off going to one of the restaurants on North Main Street. You can go to Kermit's have a better experience. Heck, you can go to the Arby's near Big Boy's and get better service. read more

Came here during the Northwest Ohio Carry open carry walk. Big boy is a wonderful company and great supporters of the United States constitution. They were kind enough to let us use their parking lot while we did a walk around BG for 1 hour. We then came back and we were welcomed in to a reserved section with fast great service. I have never been a fan of Big Boy/Frisches, but we moved from Toledo quite near to Bowling Green and while we were looking around we spotted this one. I have to say it's the best one I have visited. The food was good, the service wasn't too shabby and the prices were great. Their breakfasts are decent. I like their toast with avocado and tomato. Their burgers are worth trying too. Overall I was impressed and have visited quite a few times since. read more

The burgers here are much better than fast food for not a lot more money. The fries could be a little better, but they are definitely not awful. There are better burgers in BG, but for the money and convenience, this place is great. BTW, this Big Boy is MUCH better than the one on the east end of town. EDIT: Just so everyone is aware, I am not saying this is a 4-star restaurant. Consider the context to what this restaurant is. If the Big Boy company wants to find their oldest, most unkempt, most apologetic store - this is it. We waited 40 minutes for a breakfast and a grilled cheese with a cup of soup. All the while the waitresses we're apologizing to every table about the wait. They weren't even packed with people waiting. Tables all around us were getting their bills adjusted. My second job at age 16 was at my local Big Boy. And I can tell you that 20 years ago it was still better than today. I guess ownership can take advantage of it being a college town (via the outrageous menu prices) and call it a day. But they need to invest in the building and the management as well as training. We were traveling through and will be sure to NOT stop back ever again. read more

After multiple bad visits to Bob Evans, unclean conditions, burnt or bad food we decided to try Frisch's and boy am I glad we did! Food was most excellent, restaurant was clean and so were the dishes. Staff was fantastic and the bill was at least $10.00 less. Frisch's is a no brainer for the family. read more

Not a lot of variety. A burger will run you about $5 with side about $8.50 and $10 + for the salad bar. The salad bar is why I came but didn't end up getting it , the add ins look fresh but there's only about 5 , and the base is limp pre made mix. read more

I have never had a problem with service here. But my last time was horrible. Our server waited till after the breakfast bar closed at 1:30 to even greet us for our drinks., we were seated around 1:15. By the time we were greeted the whole time we gave our drink order she talked to the older couple next to us. Asking us to keep repeating ourselves. Twenty minutes later we gave our food order, once she took it she talked to 3 other tables before putting our order into the kitchen, not just a table touch asking if everything was fine she had full blown conversations.
