If you are looking for a good restaurant to take the kids to or just nice simple food this is your place. It's a strong 3 stars, I just can't give it 4 because it's very basic. That being said the establishment was clean although the restroom was in need of an update and maintenance. There was a plastic bag over the urinal & the hand dryer was corroding away. The dining space was clean & up to date. The service was impeccable, the patience the servers had with the kids chaotic order was commendable. My food was good and I enjoyed my clam chowder even if it came from a can...which I suspect. read more

This place was the worst friendly ever!!! First of all, The waiters were so rude! I got my food and it tasted like shit. After the food I went to play the machine to try and win a plush. The claw went down and it didn't move i was so pissed i wasted 3$. Then, the worst part The boys bathroom smelled like throw up and i was gagging. I have been to this location a number of times over the years and every time has been a pleasant experience. This time, however, topped them all! The service was excellent, warm and inviting from the beginning. The location was recently purchased by a new franchisee, and the decor had a major upgrade, bright and, we'll, friendly. I had the Mushroom & Swiss Burger from the summer menu, substituting a delicious coleslaw for the french fries. It was superb; juicy, bursting with flavor, and done to absolute perfection! My Happy Ending Sundae, butter pecan ice cream with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and cherry was the perfect ending to a delightful lunch. A huge BANG for the buck, and I could never come up with enough superlatives to describe the wonderful staff and service. read more

it would be nice to know that the breakfast special has a dollar per person extra charge for eggs they don't tell you on the menu and they don't tell you in person also this particular one the service is extremely slow and they charge for coffee seniors Get It Free you have to tell them otherwise you'll pay an extra I realize it's only friendlies but they should be upfront about it that's probably why this one does so badly read more

Ok still not sick. That a good thing. There food and frozen TV dinner are a race to be better. Frozen dinners may win. Food was ? You can eat it, not really good you pay $17 for a meal you expect taste. Onion rings were good. There national in line add saids a small Sunday with the meal. There manager said this restaurant does not follow national adds from corporate. I just wonder if this manager followed corporate guide lines on safe food handling, cleaning, actually cooking. David at the Friendlys in Shirley is awesome . I am a regular and he always has my order ready . This Friendlys in Shirley has some of the best service out there . I highly recommend. The food is good and all but the waiters are rude I asked what type of milk shake there was because the menu didn't have milk shakes on it so we asked and the lady didn't want to answer, i also have ocd and i ordered sunnyside up eggs and one of the eggs were popped so that was disappointing i didn't want to say anything because cleary she wasn't friendly and it's annoying to do food over again bc a egg popped, also it seems that shes was racist or something because to the white people she was friendly to them and everything and asked if they wanted ice cream but she didn't ask us we said that we wanted ice cream and she asked in a rude way what ice cream we wanted. This has happened a lot in this friendly it's actually annoying and it sucks bc it's an actual good place but not if they're treating you like if it was the Karens restaurant or something. read more

My kids love Mr Beast so I ordered it. I get it and here Mt Beast is operated out of Friendly's and is an Uber special so can't pick it up. When I got the food it was disgusting and part of the burgers were RAW!!!! The burgers were nothing like they were supposed to be. The fries looked microwaved and tasted under cooked. It literally looks like they put the burger on the grill for a a minute or so on each side and then put it in the bun before it was even cooked. On top of it all, Uber didn't even refund the order. They had to send it to a special department because the meat was undercooked. So now I may never get my money back because of what happened. This is a disgrace, and I hope everybody stays away from Friendly's. I wish I could give it a negative star! read more

Brought the big dog here and he gave 4 out of 5 scoops for this place. Was pleased with the quality of the food as well as the nice sitting benches on the outside to relax under the shade after a good belly rub inside. Quality wise of the food was probably one of the better ones I've experienced so my compliments to the 5 star chef in the back. First time and last time I'll be getting food from here. Ordered the lumbar jack breakfast with receipt. When the food arrived I opened it to a surprise. As you can see from the photo someone deliberately put a receipt inside my platter and made sure the sausage was on top.I will never eat here or recommend this place to anyone. I live in East Patchogue less than one mile from the Friendly's in Medford and travel more than 3 times a week to Shirley because of the food changes frequently, there are local coupons available to help make it affordable to eat out, but what makes me travel is the STAFF! Managers Bridget & Debbie are so helpful. The waitress' like Jessy, Mel, Jennine, Sherri and others are so welcoming and make you look forward to returning!! I don't have high expectations when it comes to Friendly's, but I still have some expectations. Came here on a Sunday morning while hungover with my boyfriend. Needed some greasy food. Honestly, we would have been better off with our usual egg sandwiches from the bagel place. Service was so damn slow! It took so long to get our food. Not good to wait while hungover. My boyfriend got the lumberjack special. It was 3 eggs, choice of bacon or sausage, and a choice of pancakes or French toast. He went with bacon and French toast. The only good thing about his meal was the French toast. I ordered the big two do breakfast. It came with eggs, choice of bacon or sausage and a choice of toast, pancakes or French toast. Basically the same as what my boyfriend got, but it was two eggs, two pieces of bacon and two pancakes...whereas my boyfriends came with three of each. The only good thing was NOTHING. I asked for well done bacon...it wasn't well done at all. I also ordered a side of potatoes. I was charged $3 for basically a handful of flavorless potatoes. Such a rip off. I haven't been here since before the pandemic and oh I gotta say I missed their mini mozzarella sticks, my most excitement is when I found out they had a Mr. Beast burger and tried it. I normally frequent this establishment, and during every visit, I have sent food back to the kitchen. For some reason, the wait staff continuously misses bits and pieces of my order even after writing it down and REASSURING me that it was all correct. On many occasions they will have an attitude with the customer and are angry that someone wants them to do their job. Their lemonade is watered down and reminiscent of toilet water. They advertise chicken pops but many a time have brought me chicken with no pops. However the ice cream is bomb. read more

A group of children come in who forget masks and leave the building to get mask and return are then disrespected and talked to in a nasty way the whole time they are present in the restaurant ....they are talked badly about by the staff and pointed at in a disrespectful manor. My husband got the giardin burger - we were definitely disappointed at the sustenance given the ordinate description. It was definitely smaller than my tuna melt even with all the toppings, making it a small second to a fast food burger with lettuce. We both ordered broccoli as a side and got a frozen vegetable medley that entailed starch veggies without any single green vegetables. I'm not really a big fan of Friendly's but my friend wanted to go. Pulling up to this location parking was quick because the lot was empty. Going in I must say I was surprised with how modern it looked. This is the nicest Friendly's I ever visited. We sat at a booth and read over the menu. The waitress took longer then expect to come to serve us. When she came she was nice and courteous. After I placed my order I looked around and noticed a couple of tables not wiped down. Maybe 10 minutes after that the waitress finally got it. I wonder why the service is so slow when there are really no people dining here. The food finally came out. To my surprise it actually looked good. But as expected when I started to eat it, I noted it didn't have a real good flavor to it and the bacon and sausage didn't even make top twenty best. I would have rather gone to a real diner then spend anymore time at a Friendly's. I know next time I will not let it be my friends choice were to eat. Safe to say I'm not going back there. read more

At 3 o'clock this afternoon, my grandchildren and I went into Friendly's and ended up having such a horrible meal. Granted we haven't been there in a few years and my first clue should've been the fact that we were the only patrons in the store as soon as we walked in, we noticed, the ice cream freezer is empty. The place was barren but we sat down. I had a hamburger that was a frozen patty that was so cremated and when I asked the waitress about it, she said oh they're all cooked to medium well , my grandson had a turkey club that was so dried out , no amount of mayonnaise if they had remembered to put some on could possibly have helped it .the chicken tenders were over cooked that my other grandson had . And the only redeeming quality was the ice cream sundae after all is said and done this bill came to $85 which is ridiculous for Friendly's. Everything was so overpriced And because I ordered from the take three menu I wasn't able to use any coupons whatsoever that I had just received in the mail from Friendly's two days ago so I'm trying to figure this out Do They want to close or do they want to stay open, and on top of that they no longer serve breakfast all day long, even though they advertise that they do, don't they realize that they've got serious competition across the street with the new Dairy Queen they really need to step up their game. read more

This Friendly's is "alright". I just feel like the service could be a bit faster for the dine in section. The breakfast is "OK". The Dinners are generic I feel. The Ice cream is still delicious. Its basically feels like a Dive-bar but for children so they can get chocolate wasted... Friendly's is a classic so you feel obligated to let out your inner child every once in a while.
