Ok, so I forgot how great five guys were. This location is amazing. The staff were fast friendly and fun a great combination. The food was on point. I wasn't sure how to order, and the server made it easy. The atmosphere was as I remember bright and clean. Also, complimentary peanuts are a thing here. I'm glad I ordered a little burger and fries cause the sizes are great lots of fries and the fries are second to none. I got a bacon cheese burger and fries. Plenty to fill you up. One of my favorite burger chains in Ny. This place offers great customer service as well as great tasting food. They have my favorite French fries other than MC Donald's fries. You can ask them to add Cajun pepper on your fries. You won't regret it! They also write down which farms they get their daily fries from and they also have free peanuts. Called in an order and it took 35 minutes past the scheduled ready by time to get the food. That was a total of 50 minutes from when I placed the order to make two burgers and small fries! Uber eats pick up orders get priority and everyone else is forced to wait. Food ended up cold and soggy. This is the second time in a row this happened at the Hauppauge 5Guys. We are fans Five Guys, but haven't visited in quite some time. Unfortunately we were disappointed by our visit today. We are a family of five and ordered 3 doubles, 2 littles, a large fry, and one soft drink ($47). Three of our burgers had cheese, which wasn't melted on any of them (???). This is testament to the fact that the burgers just weren't hot, which is the main reason for our disappointment. The restaurant wasn't busy, and we saw them throw down the patties fresh, but for some reason they just weren't hot.... neither were the fries. Usually they are piping hot, but they were barely warm today. I'm not sure if this is representative of this location, or just poor staff tonight, but I don't think we'd visit this particular location again. Edited review to say: The manager of this location reached out to me privately to ensure our next visit was outstanding. Here's the Scoop: 5 Guys burger joint has good burgers, shakes and dogs. Located in the Strip mall with the New Clay Oven restaurant. Lovely peanuts in large barrels fill your hunger pangs while you wait for your juicy burger. You can get the works on your burger with no extra charge and that's about 6 toppings or more. The dinning area is clean and decorated like old time burger joint with bright red and white colors on the walls. The service is quick, friendly, & efficient. The fries are delicious and salted just right. The shakes are thick you can eat them with a spoon and lots of flavors to choose and mix. This location is, like the rest, sort of a cafeteria style layout with free peanuts in the shell to munch while you wait for your order. The place was a little busy when I got there and very busy by the time I left so it was good timing on my part. The counter guy got my order entered and the food came out much quicker than I remember from other F.G. locations. The dining room was clean - not sparkling but clean enough- they were a little slow with clearing tables etc. Soda machines and supplies were all stocked. Overall a solid place for a burger fix. Best no-frills fast food burgers around for sure. The a la carte toppings make it so you can personalize your burger however you want, at no extra charge. The fries are also superb! Very salty and crisp, but not too thin or flimsy like mcdonald's fries. Just a tip: definitely share the fries with someone otherwise you may go into cardiac arrest...they give you so many! Also, I'm an average size young lady, and I feel totally full from the "little cheeseburger", as opposed to the "cheeseburger". Something cool they do there is have a giant pile of peanuts with the shells, and you can go ahead and scoop some into a paper container to munch on while waiting for your food. They lose one star here for cleanliness...the tables are often left dirty, and everyone is touching the same peanuts! I have been to a few Five Guys Burger places in the Northeast and this was my first visit at this location. I had a double burger with cheese, bacon, jalapeno, onions with fries. It was pretty good, but not as good as the other locations. The burger was not as moist as the Long Beach location. It was tasty, but not quite the 4 star review. They seem to have the fries down pat. I have been to 6 different Five Guys and the fries are always awesome. Golden brown, hot, fresh. Yummy. Fresh jalapeno big plus. Overall, if your in the mood for a Burger, Five Guys is an option, a good one. I have been spoil with the DC location and it was awesome. This location is not reliable for people who have celiacs disease! My boyfriend has celiac, and usually he has no problem eating here with his condition. But this time they failed to make sure that their was no cross contamination. Because of this without him eating anything else, he had an allergic reaction to the mistake that they made. With the amount of money that we pay for the food itself, there really should be no problem with serving people who do in fact have celiac. It only takes one time for something like this to happen. And because of this occurring this will be the last time that we ever spend any money there. God forbid something worse had happened they would he held legally responsible to it, due to negligence. But really, five guys should not offer any gluten free substitutes if they cannot make sure that there will be absolutely no cross contamination. read more

I've been to this spot multiple times and I've never left unsatisfied. The one thing they have going for them is consistency. They make my order exactly as I want and they always give me plenty of fries, enough to fill the cup and the bottom of the bag. The burger was quite tasty and I added jalapenos to this and it was a great topping to add. The burger was juicy and tasty. The fries were really good. Items that would make this place better. 1. This is been my go to five guys location as I've been traveling a lot lately in this area. Boy, do they know how to load up a girl's fry to fly!!! I get the same cashier every time I come in. I'm unsure of his name but he's as sweet as pie! I believe this location is smaller than the Port Jefferson location but it's still very clean and accomodates large crowds. Unfortunately, I have yet to try a burger from five guys. Being as I recently started eating meat again, burgers are not something I'm ready to try yet. So I can honestly say I've still only had the fries. I don't think I'm missing out because the fries are heavenly! And I've learned a trick to put the malt vinegar in my ketchup woo hoo!!! I'm really disappointed in this Five Guys. I've gone to three other Five Guys in VERY different areas (Swampscott, MA, Brooklyn, NY and Binghamton, NY) and they were all very good across the board. This one falls...a lot short. I ordered regular fries and I expected to get a lot because...I usually get a lot when I've gone to other ones and by a lot I mean to the point where my paper bag is filled to almost the top. Gave it a star because I can't give it zero. This place is a trainwreck. The food is CLEARLY frozen. You can always taste frozen meat, and this place definitely uses frozen pattys. Typically, the food is dry, another sign of it being frozen and stripped of all of the juices that make a burger good. We can eat peanuts...yay. Fries are alright, but it's a burger joint. Always get the Little bacon cheeseburger burger paired with a chocolate and Oreo shake to dip a little fry in. perfect end to a day. This place has gone down hill since they've opened. I read one of the other reviews, saying how filthy the place it...that's pretty accurate. They do get people in, so the the tables are going to get dirty, but you gotta get your staff out there to clean the tables off. Peanut shells, ketchup, soda all over the tables. In my visit last week, it was pretty bad. But as we ate the crowds died down and in the 30 minutes before we left, not a single worker came out to wipe down a table. So this place has seem better days. In any case, the food that we ordered was good, we bought a bag of fries and shared it among the 4 of us...and I think there was some left over. So unless you REALLY like fries and want to have leftovers lunch and dinner the next day, just order one regular sized fries and you can feed a family of 4. The free peanuts are a bonus for me. So no real complaints about the food, it was good and prepare well. But they need to take a look at getting the cleanliness part down. We ended up busing the table and wiping it down before we left. My first experience at this so-called "Zagat rated" best burgers was a disappointment. Bland burger, with not the right proportion of ingredients. (Too much meat, not enough lettuce, tomato, etc..) I guess they think it's a good idea to give you a pound of greasy fries, which are nasty. In this case, more is certainly not better. I gave it a second chance, and the burger was decent. I avoided the fries. I also think it's kind-of strange that they have a giant bucket of shelled peanuts to snack on while your waiting or if you're dining in. I propose they ditch the peanuts, cut the portion of greasy fries by 3/4, the meat by 1/2, and then you can lower your prices by 50%. Take notes from In N Out burger, which is quite possibly the perfect burger (value, freshness, proportion). read more

They accidentally made it with pickles and instead of remaking it they just took them off and tried giving it to me. This is the absolute worst five guys take the time and just go to Commack! Every time we order from them it's wrong, doesn't matter if we go in to order, call the order, or grub hub it it's wrong. They constantly forget toppings, or put them on the wrong burger. They've not given us burgers in our delivery order. On multiple occasions when they run out of hot dog buns instead of letting you know to see if you want something different, they either put it on a hamburger bun or put it in a bowl with a post it saying no bun on the bag. Just now I called to find out if they have buns all I wanted to do was ask a question I get put on hold but the girl at the register didn't actually press hold so I got to listen to her take 3 orders before I hung up and called again 4 more times she hung up each time. I finally got her back on the phone and they don't which is annoying because they never have them. Managers or grey shirts used to contact local five guys to get extra supplies until delivery day. I spoke to the one of the supervisors last time we ordered about the issues and he said he would talk to the team. Five Guys burgers and fries are the bomb. What makes Five Guys great? They pack a ton of nostalgia... Thinner patties than the average pub burger, and heaps of crispy, salty french fries are what make 5G's one of my favorite burger spots around. The standard burger is 2 patties, so I'll usually go with a "little" burger (single patty) and get a little creative with a few of the many FREE toppings. In addition they make a pretty delicious hot dog too! If you haven't been to Five Guys then odds are you're a vegetarian and I hate you. Quick Tip: Share the fries! For an awesome burger, come here!! I come here often for my burger fix and cajun flavored fries. If you are allergic to peanuts, then stay away from 5 Guys. There are boxes of roasted peanuts everywhere. While you wait for your order, you can chomp down on as much peanuts as you can. For the burger (no ammonia gas added), it is juicy and not salty like mickey ds, wendys, etc. They have tons of toppings you can add to your burger, and you can get a single or double. This 5 Guys is clean and seems to be well kept. Parking is good. Gets busy around lunchtime. I have been to several other 5 Guys, and I find them equally as good. So, swing by and try a burger. Its really sad how this place used to be wayyyy better. I would frequent this place a lot for lunch, and they used to be amazing. First I will say they have a great crew everyone there is solid and friendly. But, the prices of this place are outrageous. A double burger for 5.39 + Tax? Come on, I can basically go to a dinner and get a hamburger deluxe for the same price as a double and french fries here and maybe even spend less. Its kind of sad that they pulled the old bait and switch, when they first opened the prices were reasonable now they are just a rip off. How can I justify a 3.29 + Tax sack of fries. Call me cheap but its just not worth it. With price aside there is something funky about this place. I think the toppings are not being stored properly or in dirty quarters either way I been feeling funky afterwards. With bias aside I say this is more personal and opinion then fact but just putting it out there. They need to re-consider their business model here, they have the potential to really be great but they need to work on a few issues. This place got a little to comfortable I feel and are cutting corners while raising prices, people don't stand for this kind of stuff. I hate to say it but McDonald's is more then consistent in what you get and the McDouble is $1.00 folks yes $1.00.
