Vegan jackfruit sandwich
Christina R.

We only just left and I am sitting in the car writing this review. That's how good it is. First off this is not a 'sit down' place. There are only a few tables and there is no table service. You order at the counter. We did not know this before coming so that being said, we did take a table and sit. We were greeted warmly and the ambiance is very casual. The line at one point went nearly out the door for take out orders. The food came out fast and we were checked on to see if everything is okay. The food was AMAZING. My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich and I ordered the vegan barbecue jackfruit sandwich. It was absolutely amazing. We opted for 3 sides: Mac and cheese, cornbread and baked beans. I did not love the Mac and cheese but loved everything else. Just so good from start to finish. Great work guys!!

We stopped in for lunch after searching BBQs in the area. We ordered some wings, brisket, ribs, onion rings, mac' n cheese and cornbread. The place is small with about 6 tables. The wings were good, and the brisket had a decent flavor and was falling apart in your mouth. The ribs were lacking meat and the flavor was just ok. The onion rings were mostly batter and overfried and the mac' n cheese was cheesy but had a lot of pepper on it. The cornbread wasn't bad and was moist. One thing that I noticed was two of the cooks in the back weren't wearing gloves while cooking. It looked like one of them was all the way in the back, possibly cooking the meats, and the other one was working on the fryer, just grabbing the food without gloves or a hat/hair net and throwing it in the deep fryer, but I guess everything gets killed in the hot oil. Overall, the food was nothing great.

St Louis Cut ribs and Sweet Italian Sausage Plate

It's a good place for BBQ ribs. Price went up pretty high compared to the menu a year ago I saw. I got here Sunday around 5pm and want to order half rack of ribs but they did not have enough left so I had to get mix of rib and sausage and 2 sides with corn bread. Cajun fries was alright. The onion rings look great but had no flavor. Sausage wasn't that great. The ribs was fantastic. The place is small with 3-4 tables to sit. There was one table with 4 guests dining in when I was there and somehow the staff bring out empty basket that supposed to be full of fries, so they definitely need to impress their service. One big thing, if you want to order ribs, make sure to call in first or come in way early before their close time or you will end up like me with the food I didn't plans to order.

My review is really a 3.5 star review but we gon' round up to 4 because that is the right thing to do. The restaurant is located in a strip mall type place and there is a good amount of parking but unfortunately, the dining area is very small. If you are a large party, I would recommend getting your order to go. The staff is all very, very friendly and they were working very hard to fill orders in a timely manner but even still the time that passed from our order to our food was uncomfortably long. Like so long that we watched another couple eat their whole meal, clean up, leave, and we were still waiting long. I mean, I guess the food is THAT good that order are coming in and the food is cooked fresh on the spot but still, the wait time is an issue (especially if you are hungry) On to the food: we got a little of everything including a pulled pork plate, a meat tornado, sides of onion rings, fries and cornbread. The meats were tasty and the portions were ample. The sides were fried expertly. The cornbread was moist but could have used additional butter, perhaps on the side. We also got the sauce tour but were very disappointed in the viscosity of the sauces and the flavors (sadly, our favorite one was the sauce that came out of the jar) but we are also sauce snobs so take that with a grain of salt. I would absolutely eat there again and you should go and give them a try so they can bank some money and get a bigger spot! Maybe try ordering ahead too to minimize the wait.

Brisket

We tried to get into here about a year ago and they ran out of ribs so we decided to come back another time. We finally did and it's pretty great BBQ. We got the ribs, brisket, wings, Mac and cheese, baked beans, broccoli and a ton of sauces to dunk. You really only need the BBQ sauce or none at all because it's fantastic on its own. This is a very small delish little spot, like 4 tables small, so you may need to do take out. Slow down when looking g for it because you could pass it it's that small. The staff are very nice and accommodating, they assisted us with what to order. There's so much to choose from so it's honestly hard to make a decision what to eat. Try it out!

Any place that has AC/DC crankin' and playing Baywatch on the TV is my kind of place. Big Belly Que is a BBQ spot that reminds me of Sempre Fame BBQ in Floral Park. Nothing fancy, just a couple of hard working folks trying to make some good 'Que. Located in the old Pudgies spot, Big Belly Que isn't big at all. It's really small inside with just a few tables, if you had 10 people dining inside it would be tight. Big Belly Que is nice for grabbing a family BBQ meal to go. My wife & I walk in and grab a seat. We ordered a family meal to go but decided to first dine inside. The family meal has a lot to offer! We ordered some deelish Onion Rings, Two Types of Chicken Wings, Coleslaw, Baked Beans, Corn Bread and Mac & Cheese with shells. As far as meats, they ran out of sliced Brisket! The family meal doesn't come with ribs so we had pulled pork and pulled brisket. Everything tasted pretty good, there was a lot of sauced up meat so I really couldn't judge their BBQ ribs or brisket. The owner was super nice, he came out and explained how the business started with his partner. He's a local guy who opened this business in March. We had leftovers for lunch the next day, the family meal was a nice choice for us.

nashville hot chicken sandwich

this place is unstoppable with the goodness, from the ribs, to the nashville hot chicken to that crazy hot dog with the baked beans on it i have yet to try anything bad..... well except for the time i accidentally ordered the ground beef burrito rather than the brisket burrito... don't do that, it was not good, especially when expecting to bite into a brisket burrito

Having never been to this type of restaurant before, we came with seasoned veterans so as to not be confused and/or overwhelmed. It's a lot IF you have no idea how this place works. Here's the gist of it: There's BBQ and/or Hot Pot. You can do one or both. There's a set price for adults and children. It's all you can eat for your 60-90 minute time slot. For a slight up charge, you can get both BBQ and hot pot. Since this was our first time, our party focused on just the BBQ. You are told when it's last call for having the raw items brought out from the kitchen to cook. Appetizers and sides are prepared in the kitchen and brought out upon your request. We tried quite a few: sweet fried mini buns, fried shrimp shuami, fried pork goyza, and fried spring rolls. All were yummy! Each person can request up to five items at one time. That's harder to do that you realize. And they will keep rolling it out as you request. However, it's important to note that wasting food is frowned upon so you are expected to order responsibility to avoid unnecessarily just throwing food away. Stars of the night for us were the skirt steak, short ribs and pork belly with enoki mushrooms. The zucchini and large mushrooms were standout fresh veggies. Everything brought to the table was very fresh and flavorful because of all the available sauces offered including a make-your-own-sauce bar. Again, adding personalized FUN to this dining experience. Service was quick and our table area was clean. Because the restaurant was so busy we sometimes had to trouble catching our server to order more items and get beverage refills. But it was never overly long. The evening ends with a Hershey's personal-sized cup of ice cream or sherbet. Just one per person. You'll be so full so one is more than enough! With our big group of seven people , our dining outing was a really fun experience. We'll be back and be sure to come hungry!

For some people who may not know this is a "Japanese" BBQ & Shabu Shabu. For some of you that may not know what Shabu Shabu. Basically, you get to cook variety of meats and vegetables in a pot of broth, and you can create your own dipping sauce for additional flavors. First off... I'm sorry I don't really see any "Japanese" influences in their selection of foods. Definitely more so on their Korean, Chinese more so. But that's just my opinion. These days BBQ & Hot Pot is the new rave. It's a thriving all you can eat kind of business. Only difference is who has better selections? If I say Commack vs Flushing. Flushing wins hands down all the time. BUT! For where they are no real competitors, I'd say they have a fair selection of choices. Service was spectacular, food was fresh, sauces were your typical selections depending on how you like it and free little ice creams at the end of it all! Overall, it's enjoyable if you like to cook with friends. Definitely a group hangout kind of spot. I would suggest coming a little earlier to beat the rush!

I love that they cook the food for you at the table, my husband is ok with either or. We started with Mandoo (pan fried beef dumplings) yum! For dessert, we had the most scrumptious cheesecake we've ever had. We were both surprised by how delicious it was and we wish we had ordered one for each of us. The Soon Doo Boo was very tasty and had a little kick. Not as much as I would like but very close to what I would expect. The Jap Chae flavor was good but it did not have any spinach and not enough of other vegetables; but as I said, pretty tasty. The place is pretty roomy so would probably not need to wait for a table. The rest of the food were mostly misses, the worst being the Kalbi. The flavor was a little too sweet but in a teriyaki sauce kind of way, not the Korean pear/sugar/soy sauce way. The seafood pajeon was too burnt and did not have any seafood, almost all batter. The banchan was ok but the kimchee was a little too ripe. Service was a little show because they were short staffed according to our waiter. So all in all, just not a great experience. I would probably be a little more lenient but prices are similar to Flushing/Bayside even though I would assume their overhead was lower.

The Rock Burger and Chicken Caesar Salad wraps went over well although one order of fries were a little dry ( my friends comment).
