I loved friendly's my entire life (30, cis-male, he/him, recently divorced) but this location has gone down the crapper- pardon my French. I ordered the friendly Frank as well as munchy mania with mini mozzarella sticks, chicken quesadillas, and buffalo chicken tenders. The mini mozz sticks were right from a supermarket freezer. They did not taste like friendlys recipe, more like reheated TGI Fridays fried mozzarella. Also the marinara sauce was ice cold. That was strike one. The chicken quesadilla was repugnant. The quality of the processed poultry was far below average. My first bite was rubbery and disgusting. I had to excuse myself from the table and spit it out into the toilet within the men's restroom (Guys, please don't do that at the table. Dinning etiquette 101). Needless to say, I did take another bite. The buffalo chicken tenders were rock hard, no pun intended. I could not even cut through them with a knife, and it was more fried bread than chicken inside. Perhaps that was a blessing in disguise after the previous quesadilla incident. The biggest offender of them all however, was the hot dog. I go to friendly's expecting a deliciously buttery and milked up Frank, and instead am greeted with yet another supermarket food product likely due to this locations stingy practices to save money on the real corporate food. The hotdog was likely a Sabret from stop and shop, it did not have the friendly's taste, nor was it as thicc as the real deal. It was a skinny little twig. Final offender? I ordered a Reese's frenzy, and all that was put in it was vanilla without any fudge or peanut butter, just pieces. You have gotta be kidding me! Be so for real. Needless to say, I was not feeling friendly after this meal. I am giving one star instead of zero as I do think it is a safe haven for the disabled community. read more

Went in around 9pm for a late dinner and conversation. Although we were seated right away it took a long time for the server to come to us. It was a little busy so we understood. But as time went by that place kind of cleared out and we were still left waiting to order our drinks then our entrees. We saw the server has a couple other tables to take care of but it seemed he would finish everything at a table before moving on to us. Maybe he couldn't multi task and work several tables at the same time. He kept telling us our drinks were on the way. The drinks showed up after we got our entrees. That is the first time that has ever happened to new while dining. lol. Food and drinks once were got them were good. It was just waiting. 1-19-26. Somewhat decent food. I ordered the infamous "fishamajig" melt sandwich. Which I believe is a fried codfish patty served on toasted bread with some cheese and tartar sauce. I'm certainly not saying it was life changing.....but every so often, it just soothes the soul. Also ordered a bowl of chicken soup which tasted like it came straight out of a can of Campbells .... but hey, I like Campbells soup. Probably the worse service I've experienced at Friendly's, and I've been going for over 15 years. My family and I came here after a very long sad day of grieving the loss of my grandma. My Dad was excited about coming here because they don't have Friendly's in GA, so he makes it a point to stop here before going home. As we walked in we weren't greeted initially (there was a person cleaning the table in the front, they didn't even acknowledge us), until one person walked by and said welcome. We were seated and it just felt like the server wasn't warm, or inviting. It felt like we weren't important and they didn't seem like they wanted to engage with us at all. The place also had a weird odor which I noticed when I walked in. They were wiping down tables which is good. So it was fairly clean, but didn't smell good. It has been a long time since we step foot into a Friendly's and our local one closed down several years ago. We were determined to show my son's friend who just moved to NY a bit of the local dining scene. Friendly's was a favorite hangout after school concerts and musicals. We all enjoyed our entrees. I ordered the New England Fish and Chips and was pleasantly surprised to see 3 fish filets. My daughter was thrilled with her Mac and Franks off the kids menu and her chocolate Fribble. What we were most looking forward to was dessert! And there are dessert deals after 8pm. Like my daughter said, where else can you go for a meal and ice cream desserts? Great selection of ice cream desserts from shakes, to sundaes to scoops. All delish! Service was friendly and attentive. There is booth and table seating. There is plenty of parking spaces. I am trying to figure out a way to explain what the Friendly's experience is for those who have never been. The best I can come up with is imagine if a diner and Denny's had a love child. Friendly's has been around for years. I used to love going to it as a kid. I arrived at this one at about 5:00 on a Saturday. It was pretty crowded. The parking lot was full. As I look around, I see a lot of middle school, high school and families with children there. So it seems like the tradition of an attracting younger taste buds still holds true. A big part of that is they are known for their ice cream, although I used to love their burgers. With that in mind, I ordered the fish and chips. I know, who orders fish and chips at a Friendly's? ME! . The other order at the table was a kid's meal. I think it was a great value. For $7.99 a grilled cheese sandwich, french fries, a drink and an ice cream hot fudge sundae was all covered for that price. Keep in mind those items are interchangeable because the child can pick from a menu of what they want. For example instead of french fries, broccoli could have been chosen. Are instead of grilled cheese, a quesadilla could be ordered. It is also kind of cool that the child menu comes in "sizes". They have one for smaller children and one for bigger ones. That's pretty cool The fish and chips were not the highlight of my visit. The fish came out very hot which is great. However, the texture is a little hard to explain. I was expecting a light and flaky bite. The fish was more "chewy" and it was salty. I put generous amounts of the provided tartar sauce on it. I also ask for extra lemon. I did eat it all, mainly because it was $17. But I will probably not ever order it again. Speaking of the price. I expected a higher grade of fish for that price. Additionally I recall the french fries being better when I was younger. These french fries are the thinner variety almost shoestring like. Unfortunately they get cold rather fast because of the small mass. The kid's plate seemed fine. That makes me happy because this is the kind of place that belongs in your childhood memory. Eating with your parent and just having a good time. The meal came with an activity book and a spoon that changes colors based on the temperature of the food you put it into. Not sure if I'm putting that into my child's mouth, but we may use it for science fun. Keeping in mind that this establishment isn't known for the meals more than it is for the ice cream, let's talk dessert. The kid's meal allows a choice of three different ice cream creations. The classic hot fudge was chosen. And I was told it was very good. I ordered the large sundae. Came with three scoops and three toppings. I had a hard time choosing. I ended up with a mocha ice cream, cookies and cream and chocolate chip. I topped it with hot fudge, cookie dough and marshmallow. At almost $10, it definitely filled me up. It was very sweet and satisfying. I definitely enjoyed the dessert and would come back for that. I definitely still see this as a place for the high school and college crowd. I also think it's a great option for parents who want a simple establishment to take there children to. The charm of Friendly's is its still very old school. No fuss. It's not fancy and you can get a good value on a child's meal. And I don't know any child who's going to complain after eating ice cream! Slight Update: I returned to Friendly's with my son. I ordered the tuna fish melt. I know, again with the fish from friendly's . I don't eat red meat give me a break. Anyhow, that sandwich is the bomb. I bet it's a sleeper on the menu. I really do enjoy the Friendly's atmosphere and food. Ive been to this location a few times and haven't really had many complaints. However the last time I visited was a bit of a letdown. we had a large party and were seated in back to back booths. I totally understand waiting to be seated on busy nights is part of the deal and appreciate the complexity that goes into seating large parties so my issue is not with that. Once we were seated it took about 15 minutes for a person to come over to greet us and take drink orders. Luckily we all knew what we wanted and put the whole order in at that time. After that, about 20 more minutes, I had to go up to and ask the hostess if they can bring over some water and drinks for us. We've been sitting for about 40 minutes at this point. All in all it was a busy night there so It's not like they did a terrible job. I just wish they paid a little more attention and had a little extra staff on board to assist in bringing out drinks and food. The food was delicious as it normally is so I'll definitely be back. Nothing has changed (in a great way). Upon arrival I still got that old school diner feel. There is plenty of seating and fast service. They also have lots of weekly meal deals , in which I'll be coming back to try . I ordered the m&m and Butterfinger friend z for my husband and I . Our server didn't give us our drinks until 20-30 mins after we ordered it and just gave it to us with our food. When we got our ice cream, it was mostly melted which meant they were sitting out waiting to be served for a while because of our server. Took my daughter to Friendly's as a little treat after her first day of kindergarten. The service was good and the lady helping us was very nice. I'm not really an ice cream person myself, and the ambiance isn't my favorite, so I probably wouldn't come here on my own. Is there anyone out there who is not familier with Friendly's? Year's ago they littered the neighborhoods and today there is just a few of them. The good thing is that they still serve 'awesome' in a ice cream glass. We were six people coming off off of a great sushi dinner. When we finished a friend suggested Friendly's. The perfect combo. We went to one of the few remaining shops in the area and were greeted with a great smile and escorted right to our table. The waitress greeted us in seconds brought water and took our order. I will only speak for myself here. It was a double scoop of chocolate walnut ice cream with swiss chocolate sauce and whipped cream. I've been here quite a few times for the take out ice cream and dining in. Tonight I had dinner here during the " 1 kid eats free " promo for kids in Halloween costumes. The kids meals here are a good deal. They get food, drink and ice cream for under $7. The staff was kind and courteous. I grew up on Friendly's and have enjoyed it since I was about 5. They still have the softest ice cream sold in supermarkets and the most authentic varieties of flavors. There are plenty of sundaes and other special treats to enjoy here as well as late night fatgrill food. The BFF app and email list emails you weekly regarding promotions and savings. While the staff is great and they work hard, management is doing a poor job. I dined today after 7:30 for dinner with children in costume and we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated and tables to be wiped. You've got to hire more people. I dined with 3 children and our table was never cleared ! Dishes stacked to the ceiling and to be served our dessert on top of dirty dishes !!!!!!!!! We ordered from the senior menu which included a happy ending sundae so the skimpy amount of bacon on the blt and the over abundance of tartar sauce on the fishamajig were overlooked by us. So happy to take the kids back to Friendly's...we lost our favorite location when the Syosset location closed due to covid...it was our go to for after game eats and ice cream. So we were excited to be back... With Friendly's you know what you came for..and it's not high end cuisine..it's classic! This locations was updated and clean but still had the Friendly's vibe...the tables were alternated spacing for covid which was appreciated...and they had sanitizer handy. Had the most helpful server last night but I don't have his name...he was so sweet, polite and helpful. My husband loved the new Philly cheesesteak sandwich, my son and friend!enjoyed their Bacon Mac n cheeseburger and the maple bacon Turkey sandwich was good...I previously always get the Turkey club supermelt which I have to say is better.
