I used Friendly Moving Service to move from central Seattle up to Everett. The guys who did the move were extremely nice and helpful. They worked quickly and efficiently. They had problems with the truck about half way through--a problem with the starter. It's the kind of thing that could happen to anyone. The communication they had with us about the problem was stellar. They told us what was happening, and what was likely to happen as a result. Luckily, the problem was fixed, and they were able to unload the truck at our new house that same day (and they stopped the clock on the move for those hours when the truck was down). Almost any other workers who started early in the morning and ended late at night would have been pissed off and angry. They would have rushed the unloading without regard to the safety of our belongings or the quality of the move. But I did not once hear one harsh word from either of them, or detect the slightest sign that they were unhappy. They were thoroughly professional even under circumstances that were far from ideal. In my mind, that's the mark of true professionalism. In the end, the move cost me less money than the original estimate. My move involved moving my office from one business park to another a mile apart. Roderick and his assistant arrived on time and got to work right away. They were very careful not to cause damage to any furniture or other items, shrink wrapped stuff and loaded the truck with well thought out space organization to ensure everything fit in one go. They even helped me with setting up the cubicles at the new office space and installing my white board. Generally speaking when you hire movers, you know anyone can do the job, but you are looking for someone who is reliable and won't take you for a ride by adding hidden cost, or not utilizing time properly, etc. Friendly moving service is a good and decent moving service that will give you peace of mind. By friendly, don't think they are talkative and social, rather they are polite and professional. Compared to other quotes I found, they were slightly above average in unit pricing, but they were efficient and cost was predictable. Sometimes low cost movers can actually charge you more because of their inefficiency. I must mention that they spent 6.25 hours on my move, but charged me only for 6 hours. read more

Called Roderick @ Friendly Moving Service at 10:45 AM to ask him to help me move at 1:00 PM. I asked him about moving a couch from Northgate to Bellevue. He was there at 1:00 PM sharp with a van and tons of blankets. He took care to treat the couch and the home carefully both while loading and unloading. He warned me that he drives slow and so he did taking care of my couch. If this was not great, the best part was the price. It cost all of $60 for something that most other quotes came in at ~$150. To be fair some of the others were for two men but even with another person he would have been $110 which is still cheaper than any other quote. At the end when I paid him, he did not ask for a tip or anything over the fixed amount. No matter how you look at it (Uhaul or other movers), his price cannot be beat, and it was very professional to boot. read more

We have used this moving company two times. Once for my son (a couple weeks ago) and the second time for my Mother (today) Roderick and his employee were very professional, polite, timely and worked at a steady pace to get the jobs done. His prices were very fair and we were very impressed with his moving service. They made my move so easy. I packed the house into tubs and these guys came in and moved me quick and carefully. The help they provided and for them to supply there own rig was excellent. I had two less things to do before and while I moved. I didn't have to rent and worry about all the stresses that come with renting a moving rig.
