I had issue with my bank trying to send them an electronic signature for a document they needed. No matter what I did I couldn't do it. So I went to Friendly Computers and Sam helped me and he was so nice and patient. I was dumb cause I couldn't do the electronic signature. He told me it wasn't me at all, it was the way the bank sent the document over. I really don't know what I would have done without Sam. This past Christmas I was in Spokane visiting a friend when my computer got to a point where it was just awful. THIRTY previous calls to Geek Squad, where I have a long standing tech support relationship, had ended up changing nothing because as Friendly's Dan pointed out, my hard drive was dying and almost completely gone. Friendly took in my computer, changed out the hard drive, and they were exceedingly patient and helpful even after I ran into a meltdown moment once I got home. I really, really appreciate their working with me until we figured out the problem. I appreciate the time they put in with me, and their courtesy. They very likely saved my entire business by pointing out the real problem. They were also particularly helpful to me as a veteran, which is above and beyond. I used to like Geek Squad, but now even those who work there acknowledge that Best Buy hires the lowest common denominator. For my money, I'd rather be able to talk to someone in person. They asked me for $130 for just checking my pc and they said it would only take 2-3 Business days but it ended up in taking a whole week and they weren't completely done with checking it. I had a broken fan and they said the fan costed 15 dollars to get a new one and they charged me 70 dollars in total, 55 dollars were for the labor which was in the process of checking my computer to see if that was the part that messed it up so I feel like I shouldn't even be charged that 55 dollars. At first I was wondering if i could get a graphics card, a SSD and a HDD from them and let them help me put it in, the graphics card SSD HDD in total cost is around 650 dollars and they brought up the price of $1100 in total including the labor. I was so pissed, it would only take like 30min to instal the 3 things and they want to charge me $450 for labor. I will never return to this place again and I hope no one else goes and gets their money stolen there. I hope their business shut down soon read more

I would highly discourage anyone from using this company. I brought my iPad Mini 2 in to have a cracked screen replaced. They 'diagnosed' it, ordered a digitizer, and upon replacing the screen 'discovered' that the LCD was suddenly broken. They ordered a replacement screen, and although I had now paid $310 for a device that is $260 brand new, I was happy to have it home. Then I discovered the new screen had bars across it, dead pixels, and HAIR stuck under the screen. Management assured me they did post install checks - which seems rather unlikely given that hair was left under the screen. Their resolution was to offer to order another LCD screen, and hopefully in another 2 weeks replace it correctly this time. I told them I'd rather just bite the money on the digitizer and get a refund on the (incorrectly) done labor and improperly installed/broken LCD. They refused and said I could either bring it in to let them try to fix it again, or essentially 'suck it'. As someone who ran a computer repair shop for multiple years, this is pretty unacceptable. As a business owner, it's pretty standard to issue refunds when jobs go bad. It happens, it's part of the industry. When someones even willing to eat some of the cost to meet you halfway, you jump on that. At this point I'm better off eating the $300+ I spent, throwing my ipad in the garbage, and ordering a new one from amazon. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Friendly Computers charged me a $100 + bill up front to diagnose the issue, and then misquoted me about what the final bill would amount to. They never successfully were able to fix the computer, but the manager insisted that the technicians earned the $100 + charge for their labor. I have a hard time believing that computer guys make $30 + an hour! They returned my laptop to me in the same condition as I had left it, and make no effort to reimburse any portion of my down payment. I will not ever be returning to FC, and will advise anyone from ever using their business. There are other companies in the area that will not ask you to pay so much out of pocket for NO SERVICE RECEIVED! read more

This was simply one of the worst service failures that I have ever experienced! I contacted them via the phone and they seemed great. I drove from Pullman and dropped it off (I had other errands to do). My computer worked great, but the case was busted. They said that I needed to pay $105 deposit, but the total should not be much more than that. I left it and a few days later they told me that the total would be about $350, but I had already paid the $105. Basically, I should have walked away, but I agreed. It took about a month and then they called me to tell me that some wiring was defective and it would be another $150. They said the monitor no longer worked. Again, I had NEVER had an issue with the monitor. I am not a betting man, but would bet $1000 that they damaged it. I reluctantly said yes. According to them, the part took almost a month to get there. Then after they had it for two full months they insisted that I come get it within three days or they would have to sell it because the computer had been there so long! YES, really!!! Bottom line, I paid almost $600 to fix the computer & I now have two deep scratches on the monitor and a few dead pixels around this area. read more

My Autistic daughters laptop fell. It would not charge. We took into the Spokane Valley store and I was very detailed in what happened. (Daughters dad is software developer for HP and I worked disaster recovery for software company.) We knew all it needed was a new charge port, thats it! Oh no. they explained they had to check her hard drive and screen and make sure every little thing worked. I explained in detail that it still worked after the fall, but the battery died as the charge port was broken. We paid a deposit of over $100 and left the machine, in 1 piece, with them. A week later I call to find out whats going on. A few messages later, a gal calls to say the hard drive is working and no cracks in the screen! Um excuse me, we already knew that. Hello do you even listen! The charge port broke and thats all we need fixed. Um ok. So I call back almost a week later, well the keyboard works and the mother board is fine, but the charge port is broken and it's about $200 in addition to the deposit! SERIOUSLY!!! we knew the keyboard worked, we knew the mother board was fine. $200 for a charge port, No Not gonna happen. So we go into the store and a girl comes out with the machine and walks away. A man tells us what they checked, I tell him "Look do you all even listen to your customers? We told you it worked fine after the fall, but the charge port wouldn't work!!" Ugh walked out with her laptop in about 8 pieces. No refund on the deposit. Never again! Don't waste your money at this rip off. read more

Two weeks ago, Dan at Friendly Computers, Sullivan Rd, cleaned up my Mac PC, eliminated a couple virus' and installed new virus protection, and updated my Operating System. Only took a couple days. Very prompt letting me know the problems the next day and was great about answering my questions. Work was completed the next day after our conversation. My PC runs great now! read more

When i first called they were super nice and said bring it in. We close in about an hour or so but will open back up Monday morning. I rushed it down there and they took it and said no problem we got you. Monday they called and said needed a new hard drive but everything was saved quick switch out and we are done. Tuesday morning they called and said it was all done ready for pick up! Well when i got back home to use it was not some much a fixed computer. I had to call back several times to find out where my documents were. My complete quickbooks files are gone after they pointed out to me they saved those and put them right back where they were. Then when i said things needed to be fixed they said well that will be another charged hour! They want me to pay for their mistakes! Then i went on their website to write a review and happen to see a review with all my details but i guess in their eyes i was one happy customer. I guess they take it upon themselves to write their own reviews. See below: We chose this company because when we called on the phone, they were very helpful and knowledgeable, very friendly service. Took my computer in and asked them to replace the charging port because a metal piece was inside. They called me back almost TWO WEEKS later to tell me that a metal piece was bent and it was almost $100 for the evaluation of he cost to fix. Then another $100 for it to be fixed. I cannot begin to describe how completely and thoroughly disgusted I am with FC. I brought my HP laptop (2010, so not terribly old) in because of an issue I had with the screen when opening it. I was quoted the $111-ish price for bringing it in to have a tech look at it and some other stuff they do. The place appeared reputable so I agreed. There were supply problems from the start which in turn created huge time delays. Let's call it ultimately over 2 months to get it back. They said they tried the screen, the cable from the screen to the motherboard and, (in turn) the motherboard. I also had them replace the keyboard as I had some key issues. Firstly, I was the one who initiated phone follow-up. They rarely returned phone calls as promised unless to charge me more money. I was promised by the tech, which he was either fired or quit, more repairs than were given. They grossly overcharged for the repairs given. Granted, the laptop doesn't have the screen issue, which is good. The keyboard feels like a cheap knockoff for the $100 I was charged. They put back in my old screen and connecting wire which I was told I was charged for new ones. The front headphones/ mic inputs don't work. A piece of the plastic trim was broken off in front creating a piece that now sticks out. The volume control above the keyboard doesn't work the same. Also, they said they ran some clean-up software junk and I can't tell any difference. I was charged 2 labor charges. I only agreed to pay the additional $400+ to get my laptop back. I am completely nauseated by this whole experience. No, they aren't putting your computer back together. No, the tech will not call you back. Buyers beware! Just drive by. Don't even look at this place. It's like taking your car to the mechanic, the mechanic going on vacation for 2 months, and having more issues when you leave than when you went in. read more

Anya, Jake & Glenn rock! They retrieved my photos & data from a laptop I had from 2001. Ancient technology!!! This thing was so old it had the original data card from AT&T. Could only be used with a landline. (Horrors! How did we ever get by without Wi-Fi??) On top of that it had no USB ports, no CD reader writer. Had to pull the hard drive. Thanks team Freindly!! I called friendly computers because the network at my business crashed! They were able to come out within a few hours and found what the problem was within 30 minutes. They even talked to other companies that handle my firewall and POS terminals so everything was working correctly. I am using them for all my IT from not on. I can't remember the guys name that came out but he was very nice and helpful! read more

My son took his computer to these people on December 14th, 2018. all they needed to do was replace the power connector. they charged him $113 just to look at. about 3 weeks later and told him that the motherboard was fried and that they could fix it for 350 bucks. I called them back and told them to beg the computer we'd be up pick it up the following Friday. When we got to the shop we told him who we were the guy went and got the computer. The guy picked up the motherboard and proceeded to show me where they put the connector on and they didn't know what happened to the board. I inquired to why they were handling a board with no ESD or electrostatic discharge mats or ground straps or ESD coats and they're walking on carpet why are they handling the board? He told me it was shot and it didn't matter anyway. I told him we still wanted to use the ram. He said they didn't need grounding stuff when it's already shot and they did all their work in the back of the shop .I told him that I've been in electronics for 30 years and that yes they do need to be grounded when they're handling the motherboard or any other electronic device that doesn't have grounding, he just Shrugged his shoulders. These people do not know anything about Electronics. I wouldn't use them to change anything they have no idea what they're talking about or what they're doing they're destroying people's expensive electronic equipment and they have no idea. Went to the North branch at Newport Hwy to have my Macbook Pro problem fixed. I was trying to upgrade my ram and I had one of my back cover screw stripped. Dan guided and helped me without charging fees (he claimed I did most of the work but without him I couldn't have done it), and we completed the task in just a couple of minutes, as compared to the Genius Bar at the Apple center giving me expensive quote and several days just to get the diagnosis. read more

First I went there and they said they could do what was needed, They charged me up front but they lost all the data which is non replaceable. Now I have no data and a visa bill. This is my very last time there as the- last experience was not much better. This is not a shop I would recommend. They are friendly but very incompetent. Find a different place to go!!!! read more
