I've been to this place a couple of times while working Uber in the city. It's a good quality Chinese restaurant and they have SOME sushi. The wait staff are very friendly and the food has not been cold. I recommend the general tsos chicken and the egg drop soup. As for sushi. As far as buffets go, this place is pretty solid. This is not my neck of the woods, so when I found myself looking for lunch in this area, I only knew of a few options. I remembered coming to this buffet with my grandfather in the wake of the October storm. He was excited to find frog's legs on the buffet and insisted I try them. They didn't have them this time around but it's worth noting, you may be surprised by some options beyond those you find at a standard Chinese buffet. Two of the more unique items I found this time around were pineapple chicken and eggplant in garlic sauce. I really enjoyed the eggplant. There are four hot food stations, a fruit & salad station, and one for desserts. Additionally, there was a counter for sushi and it would appear a hibachi grill that was not manned during my visit. They have plenty of options in the "picky eater" category if you have a child or someone with you that's not so found of Chinese food. There are several flavors of ice cream available as well. It was 2/2:30 in the afternoon so, a little late for lunch, and yet everything was fresh and well stocked. Ok.... now I understand on why they got an average 3 stars, barley. The customer service is horrible. Our server was nice at first but literally after 20 mins she gave us the bill. Asked twice if we want to pay now. Very pushy. I notice the server was talking about us to the owner and she seem to side with the server's behavior. I got mean glares from the server and owner LOL. Odd because business owner understand bad customer service is a liability to a company. I'm courteous tipper. But I will never tip for poor and disrespect service. This place is a solid three for Chinese buffet. The staff is always friendly when I go there. Their selection is pretty good for the price you pay. I've tried a variety of Chinese buffets here in the south towns , and I would have to say that this is one of the more decent ones. I didn't expect much because I don't want to set my expectations high and have it be shot down. However, I was quite impressed with both their large food selection of many different times as well as their service. Normally Chinese buffet places aren't known for any service at all but our server kept on clearing our used plates and refill our drinks quickly. Most of the food was good too (you can't expect all of it to be great, but there was enough selection that you could focus on what you wanted to eat). There have some Sushi which is passable as sushi but not great. They have like a side section where there is more food. That side section I believe is where stuff rotates and changes during the season and if its a big Holiday like mothers or fathers day etc. Other then that, this is my second choice for Chineese buffet in the south towns. read more

Came here closing time so the food wasn't fresh, nor was it refilled when emptied. Walked in excited because right by the entrance there was a table of people eating crab legs. The restaurant told us that they didn't offer crabs and that they were friends who had brought the crabs in, they just cooked it for them. What kind of professional restaurant does that? This is one of the better Chinese buffets that I've been to. I've dines her a couple of time before when takin my grandmother out for lunch or dinner, and my most recent visit was the same. Grandma has a coupon in the mail, so we used that. For lunch for two (plus a hot tea for gramma) it came to $15.95. Overall not a bad price when you consider the selection. They have traditional American Chinese fare along with an assortment of other dishes that are less commonly ordered. I was pleasantly surprised to see mei fun. There is also a large selection of American fare for those in your party who don't like Chinese. As my grandma said, "if you can't find something to eat here, there's something wrong with you." Well put grandma. They have plenty of seating in the main area, as well as around the corner to the right. We went on a weekday for lunch and it was the patrons were pleasantly spread out. The booth we had was large and clean. The multiple TVs the ought the restaurant were showing the Olympiad. Very patriotic! The girl who served our drinks and cleared away played was nice. Even accommodating my grandmothers questions abort whether the have weddings come in for their receptions. I've never heard of a reception at the Chinese buffet, but I wouldn't discount that it happens... One criticism is that there were items that were cold while others were hot. First time trying this place yesterday. I love a good Chinese buffet. Not impressed with this one, at all. Looked good at first glance but was disappointed overall in the waste of money and time. First, everything was cold. Not, oh well its still warm just not hot. Just plain cold. It was almost impressive how things looked so delicious, but were then the absence of flavor. So it wasn't even good cold food. I always only take a little bit of each thing at first so I was able to finish what I did get, but there was nothing worth going up a serving time for. While I was eating I opened Google to look at reviews and it had a surprisingly high rating Along with the repeated complaints of cold and bland food. So it's obviously a trend. And I understand keeping the food refilled, it's a necessity at a buffet. I don't understand blocking the entire isle with a big cart for 5 minutes so that no one could reach the food on either side. There is no space between the serving tables so even when there isn't a cart people are packed back to back. You have to do circles or lurk at the end waiting. Our server was nice enough, when I went up to pay the lady standing there I thought was very rude. Not someone I'd have on the front line dealing with customers. She snatched my card, filled out the tip and total line for me which I didn't appreciate and in my 40yrs on earth have never experienced. As far as Chinese Buffets go this is one of my favorite places to dine. They live up to the name and sure are friendly. I must come here way too often because the waitress always remembers my drink orders and how old my youngest daughter is. While the food isn't spectacular they do have a very good selection and I've always had hot food. My favorite is the Hong Kong chicken which is very crispy and sweet. The great thing is they also have a decent selection of American food for my daughters who are both picky eaters. The only drawback to coming here is when they're serving crab legs the price doesn't seem to be worth it. Personally I don't want to wrestle the people who hover over the buffet for them and I don't feel I should have to pay extra for someone to carry the whole tray to their table. Today wasn't my first time at Friendly's and it definitely won't be my last. I've been here multiple times and it hasn't changed very much. Still, I feel obligated to talk about my most recent experience there. As usual, I went with my family, and we were seated right away. The waitress came and asked to get our drinks, and then we left to get food. Friendly has a wide variety of dishes, ranging from typical Chinese dishes, to Western, Japanese, and even a few Korean dishes. Still, they choose quantity over quality. Their coconut shrimp is drowned in batter and slathered in the coconut sauce, so it tastes like mushy, coconutty dough. The french fries are also under cooked. The chicken wings and the ducks, though they have a good flavor, still have some hairs on them, so you need to manually pick them out. The crabs are a hit or miss. Sometimes they're perfect, and sometimes they're too salty or too bland. Some foods or extremely oily, and some are even covered in a film of grease. Despite this, there are some things here that I definitely recommend. The noodles are amazing and the egg drop soup is always on point. I literally eat about 5 bowls every time i come. The kimchee is delish and the Mongolian bar is amazing. They have a wide variety of fruit and dessert selection, full of delicious pastries and cakes! They also have a decent seafood selection, full of crawfish, mussels, clams, etc. Be careful though. In previous experiences, I have seen old ones that could get someone extremely sick. Your experience here will be determined on your food taste. Personally, some of the food options are a bit.. questionable. I just had the worst Kung po chicken of my entire life. It tasted like the chicken had been breaded for another dish, was left over and dumped in mine. Total mush. I am not from San Francisco CA. I am from Buffalo NY. My husband and I have been going to the Friendly Chinese Buffet for 8 years. We have never had any complaints until the last time we went. I was watching a young man wrap the forks in a napkin and setting them aside. In doing so he dropped a knife. He picked it up and put it in a pitcher with other knives. I assumed he would take them all back to wash. Oh no, instead he took the pitcher to the bar where the other knives were, dried them off and put them in the knife holder. INCLUDING THE ONE THAT FELL ON THE FLOOR! Then he coughed on the forks and into his hands and continued wrapping the forks in napkins. My friends and I made plans to go out to eat. However, we did not know where to go, but everyone wanted to go to a buffet. A place that we have never ate before. I have been to a Chinese Buffet before, but not this one. Now that I think back to it, I think I like it better. The service was kind of strange, we walked to the door and there was no one standing there to greet. So we waited a few minutes, someone came and showed up to our table. We did not even pay at the door, she just took us straight to our sits, something I wasn't used to. So then, she took our drink order, and after we got it we decided to go get our food. I love that they had a mixture of American and Chinese and I think I saw Korean as well. I went mostly for the American, yeah typical me at a Chinese Buffet hehe. I was able to pack two plates, and on one of them I only got the fried veggie rice with the Chicken. As I ate the food I stacked up, I found that most of the food was a bit salty, hess just the way I like it. Then there was a piece of drumstick chicken that did not have any type of seasoning at all. Overall the food was good, but I got full really fast, so there was no room for dessert. My friends enjoyed eating here too, they too were able to stack up two plates and no dessert. The place is nice inside, but I guess at the time we went it was a bit late for customers to come eat. This is because the place was kind of empty. So we ate kind of fast, and decided not to stay too long. We were waiting for the waitress to come get our check, but she never showed up. Friendly's Chinese Buffet is NOT SO FRIENDLY AFTER ALL! I have visited this restaurant on several occasions for the past few years and have never had a problem. However, I took my granddaughter Serenity there for lunch as a special treat to celebrate her getting accepted into a prestigious school, City Honors International Baccalaureate/Acceleration Program. Anticipating having a wonderful bonding time, we instead got the most terrible service of my lifetime! The waitress was not pleasant, no smiles or small talk (which I didn't make a big deal about but noticed), & when I placed plates on the edge of the table with food we were done with; she came & told me it was too much food for them to throw out; & insisted that I'd have to take it out for an additional $4.99 per pound! I was in disbelief, & I told her no, I was done w/those plates, they were garbage, & I was NOT going to take it out I pay for it! I again asked her to remove them! She did this twice! Then she came & brought me my bill, (without me requesting it or her asking me if I was ready for it!) When I looked @ the bill, I saw she'd charged me the dinner price even though we'd arrived during lunchtime; and the dinner entrees were not out! When I told the manager @ the register that we came during lunch but were charged the dinner price, he said that sometimes they just charge that price around 3:15, (though lunch prices are in effect until 3:30!) The hostess then interjected that "you left too much food! Next time don't do that! NEXT TIME???? The manager just shook his head, did not correct this blatant (purposeful) error, & looked down as if to say there was nothing he could do about it! I was totally outdone; & told him that this was not right! The staff was rude, crude, discourteous and disrespectful. I'd never experienced this type of behavior in my life. My stomach now soured! I've been here three times the past 8 months and all visits have been enjoyable. The buffet has a good selection and did not disappoint. I do like that they offer some American items (ribs, roast beef, wings, etc.). I came to this establishment today and I was highly disappointed. First of all, there were no accommodations for people with disabilities. We were not greeted with kindness, the service was awful and very much rude. We had two children, and they were given adult size cups. After politely asking them for smaller cups, they were practically thrown at us on the table. The food did not taste fresh at all, majority of the food were either cold, undercooked and salty. We came for lunch and we thought that the crab legs were a part of the lunch special, apparently there are signs stating this, I did not see any what so ever. I have nothing to complain about. Their food is good, sometimes a little dried out but if it's not a busy night at a buffet what do you want? I do have to say that if you want the crab legs on Friday and Saturday night be ready to wait because there are always 'helicopters' who go there only for the legs and they basically wait until they bring a new bunch out and take all of them back to their table. My son has allergies and one place we can go and eat usually is chinese buffet as they offer crab legs, which is all my son will eat at the buffet. We have frequented many chinese buffets in the WNY are and decided to try this one after looking online and seeing they offer crab legs 'ALL DAY". When we first pulled up, could not find, there is just a small sign in window, as their 'sign' is under renovations. When we were seated, we went through the buffet and there were no crab legs (this is a saturday evening). We inquired with one of the workers where she laughed in our face. we then showed her website and she said, oh yeah, that old. We got up and left and went to another chinese buffet that does offer crab legs. We will never try this place again read more
