We visit here regularly when we don't feel like cooking! Friedman's always delivers in taste and friendliness. The chai tea is to die for. Food is always fresh and delicious. The staff here work overtime to guarantee a great experience. This place is beautiful and convenient for our location on the upper west side.

We've dined here twice in two days and I have to absolutely rave about this place. Food always great but it's the wonderful service too! Last night we had the blackened fish sandwich and pastrami sandwich both gluten free Every server we've had was attentive and knowledgeable ! Love the simple and functional decor that gives the place a nice uncluttered clean look. I'm so bummed friendman's doesn't have a place in the L.A area .

I came here with my friend for an early dinner on a weekday and was seated right away. I like the assortment of food on the menu and landed with a bacon lettuce tomato and avocado sandwich and a tomato soup. It came with French fries. I really liked how clean it was and it had a nice environment. The staff were really friendly and attentive.

One of my go-to places for a casual brunch! My friend and I arrived here a little past noon on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating. This location is a little bit more "out of the way" compared to some of the other locations but definitely worth the walk imo since we were able to get seated right away without having a reservation, it wasn't as crowded as noisy, and service was top notch! This location's menu is also incredibly extensive and includes a ton of Asian-inspired dishes too, though I went for the lemon ricotta pancakes this time and my friend got the spinach artichoke dip. We both really enjoyed our food and I appreciated how careful and knowledgeable the staff were about accommodating my gluten-free dietary restrictions! I only wish I had a little bit more fruit on my pancakes but oh well :) they were so fluffy and warm and fresh - I know I'll definitely be back in no time to try out additional items on their menu!

Comfort food with a New York twist. Check out tuna, crispy rice appetizer excellent. Tried the fish and chips New York style and Friedman fried chicken all were extremely satisfying. Enjoyed in a chill atmosphere so full no room for dessert can't wait to go back, the real deal. ! Nice and friendly service

Great service, amazing food, and nice outdoor seating. I've eaten at the Chelsea Market location several times but the West End location is much better in regard to service and overall experience. I had the gf chicken and waffle - I adore a savory waffle and this one did not disappoint. The habanero honey is to die for. The dish is big enough to share OR take home leftovers! Thanks for all of the gluten free options!

Came here on a Friday evening at 6pm - it was empty so no reservations needed. The staff was super attentive and sweet. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries and my friend had the salmon entree. Good for comfort food and catching up with friends. They're currently renovating next door so I'm sure the venue will be even bigger once it's completed. Will definitely recommend and will be back.

We stopped by as we had a friend in the area who came here pretty often. The place was nice. Service was good, friendly and the food was good. I got a hot chocolate and it was tasty. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Overall it was just good, nothing special. Pricey for 'good' food but nonetheless , no complaints.

This was a nice addition to the neighborhood. I liked their sturdy outdoor set up and the heat lamps. We came around lunchtime and they were quite busy. Seems like they only had two servers for everyone which was not enough since it took them a while to clean up after parties who had left. As a result, the wait times were longer than they estimated. However they had good covid precautions (well spaced tables, servers with masks). For the food itself, we loved our pastrami Reuben. It was warm, comforting and juicy. Definitely a greasy guilty pleasure for a cold weekend. The fries were pretty good as well, not super crispy but well flavored. It was enough for two of us to split and feel full afterwards. We got the Mac n cheese side too. We will definitely skip it next time. We liked the crispy topping and I liked the lighter sauce, but the pasta itself was too al dente and ended up tasting stale as a result. Looking forward to trying other dishes though!

The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.

We were seated in the tented area, which felt absolutely magical with its floating lights and the surrounding trees--it created such a cozy, special atmosphere right in the middle of the city. To start, we ordered the grilled bread with vegan spreads for the table along with the potato leek and roasted red pepper soups. The bread and dips were a delightful way to begin the meal, and the potato leek soup was warm, comforting, and full of flavor. For our entrées, we chose the branzino and the seafood pasta in cioppino sauce. The branzino was light, flaky, and beautifully paired with delicious vegetables. The seafood pasta was hearty and warming--my husband and I split it, and it was more than enough to satisfy us both. Everything about the experience impressed us: the food, the ambiance, and especially the service, which was incredibly attentive and fast without ever feeling rushed. We asked if we were able to just sit at a table for drinks, she said yes. The wine selection was minimal and not good, but we ordered 2 glasses anyway. We asked the server if we could order bread for our son. He said "I'll bring bread after you order food." We told him we were only there for drinks but were happy to pay for a bread order. He begrudgingly said okay. After being there 10 minutes, we decided we wanted an appetizer so went for the tuna crudo. Not did it taste awful, it didn't even look appealing. It also oddly came out with a massive piece of grilled bread?! Bizarre combo. Do yourself a favor and just sit in Bryant Park, don't waste your money here.

We loved it so much we went back and second time for dinner. The first night we sat at the bar (it was crowded and we didn't have reservations) and made some friends who recommended Ivan's (the bartender) espresso martinis. Although we were drinking some white wine we decided after finishing those we would try them. Ivan makes them special with a little Bailey's! They were incredible! Like a dessert but not too sweet. Ivan shared his recommendations with us and we had some good conversation. We ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and Brussels salad as well. All very tasty. A couple of nights later we went back and had the rigatoni with red sauce which was phenomenal and our favorite and the Toscana salad, also great. The pastas taste homemade and everything is so fresh, including the bread. We of course ordered espresso martinis again and Ivan thought it might be us again and came by to say hi. He makes the restaurant feel like family! I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in my next visit. It is now my favorite restaurant in New York! Thank you so much Ivan!

I sat at the bar and ordered a simple pasta with red sauce, some meatballs, and broccolini. The pasta was perfectly al dente and absorbed the red sauce nicely. I appreciate that I was not offered grated cheese or fresh ground pepper. It was served as the chef intended, showing off the tomatoes, accented only by the herbs and spices. It was not too oily either, if anything it could have had a touch more, but again this let the tomatoes come through. The pork and beef. meatballs are dense and served in a thickened tomato sauce. The bread that comes with it is nice for finishing that gorgeous sauce which does have a sprinkling of parm. The broccolini had a a touch of garlic and served with a lemon. You can judge a restaurant by its guests. The other solo diners beside me were locals, there for the food. Next time I'll try the vodka sauce with burrata.
