Had never heard of this place before, but my friend/coworker suggested it when we were all looking for a place to grab a beverage before heading back to the office. It turned into us sitting down for a little morning beverage and pastries. It is very bright and feels airy in there with the all white decor, bright paintings and large windows allowing a ton of natural light in. Staff were friendly and helpful while there. I kept it simple with their namesake green tea option while we all split the pastry basket option. Pretty good, standard tea and pastry experience... I would come here again and recommend it to others.

Gluten free here is a joke. It came up on multiple gf searches for breakfast, and the menu showed that half of the menu could be made gf, but the server said the only thing they can do gf is toast - and not French toast. The atmosphere was fine - felt more like an art display than a restaurant - and we didn't see anyone eating so I can't speak to serving sizes. But if you're celiac or just avoiding gluten, avoid this place as well.

While wandering around the area, we wanted to take a break at a cafe and found Frieda. Upon entering, you're welcome to a variety of art pieces from paper flowers to jams. The works are available for sale and come from local artists, which is pretty amazing. The cafe itself is so artful and tasteful as well. The walls are decorated with paint chips in a gorgeous rainbow ombré. There's a large selection of healthy food options as well, but we just came by for some drinks. I had a White Peach Iced Tea ($4) while they also refilled our glass of waters. The drinks were standard, but the space is lovely. Glad we stumbled into this artsy cafe.

We visited here on a Thursday morning and we're greeted at the front and seated immediately. Our first impression was that the place is well decorated and neat. Staff is friendly and the place sells local stuff at the front. We ordered ordered quiche and continental breakfast along with coffee. I did check on their coffee refill policy and it is bottomless. We were worried about the portions as they claimed French, but boy we were wrong. The quiche was personal size and very filling. The continental breakfast, which initially I thought would not be good was infant a great sampler - it had salmon oats granola toast eggs avocado and much more. This was a great way to taste multiple things. Service was prompt and our coffee was being refilled at such fast pace. Bathrooms were clean and had forest music in the background. I highly recommend this place!

Solid place for coffee plus it's a cozy spot to chill. My friends and I enjoyed all of art work too. Their coffee is strong I'd have to say cause I got a decaf latte and was kinda cracked out from that

Great food, decor, and atmosphere. This is a great brunch spot and a fun time. There are many options on the menu and just a vibe for a weekend or weekday, whichever you prefer.

There aren't a lot of places I would go to twice in Philly, but I would be a regular at Frieda if it my waistline and wallet allowed for it! The food was great and the venue itself was so cool and cozy. I went with a friend the first time, but I can't wait to be back with my fiance!

This place was so incredible, the mushroom poached egg dish was so flavorful and delicious, the French toast was amazing as well with this decadent butterscotch sauce and fresh fruit. Even on a busy Saturday morning no reservation they sat us pretty quickly, the whole place had a quirky, eclectic vibe as well. They also have homemade jam for purchase in a lot of fun flavors which was super cool!

Good service. Clean environment. Good food. Not what I expected in terms of a cafe. It's pricey so be prepared for that.

When I was researching places for breakfast during my shirt stay in Philadelphia no one mentioned this gem and I am glad I found it. The inside is very welcoming and spacious and the staff are very friendly! I had the matcha latte, seasonal tart (which I was surprised that it was pie haha) and the beautiful croque monsieur. The latte and pie weren't overly sweet and well balanced and the croque monsieur is probably the best I have had. The food is crafted with love. I hope to share frieda with others

Fab spot for a weekend brunch. Friendly staff, cool art on the walls. Avocado toast was fab- tasty multigrain topped with arugula, a bit of pesto, creamy avocado, sliced tomatoes, and two perfectly poached eggs. Avocado toast at its finest!

We were determined to make the most of it and found this coffee place the next morning on yelp and we're so happy we did! Instantly brightened what was a terrible situation. Please open a K'Far in Austin, TX!! Pistachio sticky bun - Absolutely delicious! Egg and cheese Jerusalem bagel - Delicious! Crispy, flavorful, slightly spicy. Yemenite iced coffee - So good! Like a spiced Vietnamese coffee. Sachlav - Loved! Like a cappuccino but with less milk. It wasn't as sweet which was a nice contrast to the sticky bun. We got in as a walk in without a wait on a Sunday morning. The server was nice as well. Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

I got a chai latte with oat milk and a Shakshuka (which, they told me is not a traditional Shakshuka but rather reimagined as a pasty). It was delicious! The chai latte had great depth and spice flavors, and the Shakshuka pastry was a great mix of flaky puff pastry and strong tomato and egg flavors. Just knocking off one star because for a $5.75 latte, they only filled the glass halfway up. I also got one of their famous pistachio sticky bun to take to go!

This was my first time actually trying it and it definitely lived up to the hype of the Yelp reviews. My wrap had chicken, hummus, lettuce, and feta, and it was so delicious. My chicken was very good, very tender and seasoned well. It also had a great creamy hummus to tie all the other ingredients together. The feta added just enough saltiness to balance out the rest of the flavors. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and my wrap was extremely soft, yet still maintained its form completely as I ate. I also ordered a Nutella hot chocolate. It was delicious! It was my fist time having a Nutella hot Chocolate. I usually just get a normal hot chocolate. The pita chips served as an additional side item with this sandwich and proved to be quite enjoyable. The pita chips had a good crunch and were able to pair with the wrap very well. I ended up eating all of the pita chips! It was a great lunch and I enjoyed my wrap! I would likely order from Café Square One again in the future, especially, if that wrap is still on their menu!

The strawberry French toast is topped with roasted strawberries, cream cheese icing, and sliced almonds. It was super filling with generous portions and just the right balance of sweetness. 2. The crab omelet with grilled onions, local mushrooms, and béarnaise sauce. A unique combination that oddly worked really well together. 3. The classic two-egg breakfast with crispy potatoes and a biscuit. Simple and a great traditional option.
