I have been here for drinks before, and i completely loved the margaritas, i got. lychee margarita this time. For my dinner i got the steak fajitas, the biggest downside here is the prices, i rather eat at a fancy restaurant fo the same prices. It was also boiling hot in the restaurant which made it hard to enjoy

We went last night for dinner without a reservation and were seated right away. Nice high end ambiance. We got the empanadas to start in each option and they were delicious, not oily, well filled and crust was flaky. I got ropa vieja, which was tender and flavorful & had to remind my server about the rice and beans to accompany it, which were ok. My husband enjoyed his vegetarian enchiladas. It is quite expensive and we didn't even have any drinks so maybe just a special occasion spot for us.

Good food and good ambiance. Not the best fajitas on Long Island but pretty good and would go back.

Pretty food, but small portions to make it more like fine dining experience, but the only issue was that there was no variation from what a regular Mexican restaurant would provide, just presenting prettier. Pitcher of casamigos small pitcher for 62$ filled mostly with ice was ridiculous. Definitely not a repeat visit. Nice people working there but the empty restaurant should have been a huge red flag. To the restaurant, spice up those dishes with flavorings that can go with the pretty presentations. And pour the booze when we pay for the booze, lighten up on the ice!! Desert was good. Hunting down wait staff to pay bill is not fun.

I'm not too keen on Mexican food. It never really agrees with me and so I just usually pass on the offer. However, this weekend, the family chose Frida's to dine. I took it like a champ and went with the flow. I was first impressed with the beautiful ambiance. We dined at off peak time so it wasn't busy. The staff members were so kind and got all our order right. Service was reasonably fast. WHAT I ORDERED: Salmon Agridulce - perfectly grilled salmon with mango habanero sauce, rice and "tostones" fried plantains. Although it was delicious, the salmon was, in my opinion, a little overcooked and was on the dry side. I still enjoyed it. The mango habanero sauce provided a little wiggle room with its slight spiciness and sweetness. The rice tasted a bit plain. I was expecting a much more in depth Spanish flavor. The tostones were delicious. Overall, I enjoyed it. It wasn't bursting with flavors but I needed that less salty type of food for health reasons. So it basically benefited me...AND I had no adverse reaction to the Mexican food afterwards. So it was a plus for me this time around. Everyone else loved their choices (sorry no photos). The guacamole ordered was made fresh right in front of us and that was to die for. The tortilla chips were in multicolors. I stuck with the yellow chips!! WIll I GO AGAIN? Yes

This place is absolutely gorgeous inside. Stopped in for Sunday lunch and this place will easily be taking my money for the foreseeable future. Apps: Ceviche & Aguavate Relleno Both so fresh. The ceviche was crisp and light and the aguacate was flavorful and delicious. Entree: Birria shrimp tacos!!!!!!! Whew I've been dreaming about those tacos! I will just say that. Drink: spicy marg This margarita was perfect! Just enough spice and all the best ingredients topped with a tajin rim... my fave ! The staff was so kind and attentive. This spot is going on my go to list for sure.

I under-estimated Frida's. I wasn't sure about a high end Mexican spot but I was wrong!! The space is super trendy and had a buzz about it (we went on a Saturday night). Our waiter was very patient with us while we navigated the menu. We had a table of 4 so we wanted to make sure we tried as much as we could. We started with the empanada appetizer which had 3 different types of empanadas. One of the specials was skirt steak, scallops and shrimp which serves 2. This is a great option if you want to try a few different things. We added fajitas and a birria taco entrée to complete our order. Everything was fantastic! They have a home made hot sauce which is no joke!! I'd definitely come back here to explore the rest of the menu!

I've passed this little storefront restaurant so many times without thinking much about it. Once inside it's like being transported to a beautiful little tropical village. Our server was very friendly and prompt. The margaritas were very good despite mine having too much ice. I had the steak with chimmichurri sauce. Very good but somewhat undercooked. I asked for medium and got very rare. My husband had the shrimp with garlic and white wine which was very good. He also had the flan for dessert which was outstanding. We will definitely return!

And while I appreciate dedication to the craft, the time allot to prepare and plate just seem to stretch on interminably. If you plan on visiting this place with another guest, prepare lengthy conversation topics! Pros: Each piece was absolutely delightful. The only piece I personally didn't enjoy was the Kimmedai-Golden Eye Snapper. My favorite pieces are any of the tuna. It was really good, I'm not much of a fatty tuna lover but it was seriously really yummy. Also I don't really like uni so I was skeptical to try it, but the uni was so creamy and perfectly chilled it was heavenly. Every other piece was just so unique and delicious. The chef's were fun to talk to and told us that the menu will be changed every two weeks. The dedication and creativity in that alone is commendable. Overall I had a good experience, the bar in front and hidden door adds to the mysterious feel. I didn't feel like the waitstaff was breathing down my shoulders like I have experienced in other places which I think is important to note. I will also say the bathroom is also beautifully constructed. The menu is personalized by printing the customers name on the top right corner which I thought was a cute touch. The 16 piece course left me feeling perfectly full. Overall had a memorable experience and will go back to try out their updated menus!

While I had heard great things about this restaurant, I hadn't been in yet. I'm sure glad we chose to come here. Since I'm perpetually early, I went to have a beer at the bar while waiting and had a chance to peruse the happy hour menu. Lots of good stuff here including many beers and cocktails. This menu is available until 6 pm during the week. Bartender was a doll and gave me the skinny on all her favorites for both the happy hour and regular menus. Bar seats maybe 15 people and a tv above will keep a solo flyer busy for a bit. Once my buddy arrived, we were seated in the dining room toward the back. A great space able to seat many patrons. Larger groups can easily be accommodated. Our server Zack was awesome and came by just often enough. He also did a great job spacing out our courses so as not to overload our table. We started with soup and then had one of the starts of the evening- sliced seared tuna. This was a reco from the earlier mentioned bartender and it was a super home run. So were the Bang Bang Tacos. ( another reco from our great bartender food guru.) My friend said his salmon was good but not great and I had a burger that Zack recommended. Cooked perfectly, juicy and delicious, this was an incredible burger and I could have taken at least half home. I didn't because it was so good and I felt stuffed when it was finished. We didn't stop there though - the dessert menu looked awesome and I wasn't going to miss it. We ordered: - Spring Salad (5/5) this tasted so good with the fresh mango, the snap peas, and the carrot ginger dressing. - Faroe Islands Salmon (5/5) I only tasted the rice, and not the salmon itself, but the rice was so good, and I just kept on stealing more from the plate. - Roasted-Half Chicken (4/5) This was my own entrée, and I loved how the chicken was crispy, and I also really liked the garlic mashed potatoes, but the only thing that I did not think worked well with the dish was the swiss chard. I think it would've tasted better with spinach. - Strawberry Cheesecake (4/5) this was surprisingly very light for a cheesecake, we ended up finishing all of it, and the whipped cream was really good. The strawberries were not my favorite, I kind of wish that they were just fresh slices of strawberries, but to each their own.
