Ever since last week experiencing a Wahlburgers burger while on a business trip, I've tried to find a local substitute in Dayton. Frickers is right down the street, so I order a burger and brew city fries online for pickup. The order was ready at the time promised. The hamburger patty was previously frozen, and had little taste. However, the fresh lettuce, onion, and tomato provided all the flavor. The bun was not toasted, and also had very little flavor. There is very little difference between this burger and a quarter pounder deluxe, except this had real onion. I didn't know what to think of the "brew city fries". They were hot and plentiful, but they had an odd greasy texture and again, very little flavor. I would recommend reading through the reviews to determine what Frickers actually does well before ordering. Burgers and fries are not one of them. read more

I was recommended to try this place and boy what a terrible recommendation. Upon driving up it looks dingy af, and then the inside is very dark and dank. I ordered the "famous wings" anyway. I was told to ask for them well done otherwise they could be kinda flabby. I did, but then the hostess asked what sauce I wanted. So I asked for garlic parm. Naturally, I thought they were baked. Nope! 15 mins later I was given a styrofoam box of 10 fried wings covered in garlic parm sauce. What ? Why? Who douses sauce on crispy fried wings enclosed in a styrofoam container and plastic bag?? Went here on Christmas Day. Went mid afternoon, 4:30 pm, because I knew they would be busy around lunch and dinner hours. Was guided to the back room. I was the only person in the back room. Ordered and an hour later my wings and fries arrived, at room temperature. Either they sat in the window for an extended period of time or the kitchen prepares them in advance and keeps them in a bowl. I asked the waitress for some salt. 15 minutes later I asked if she had any salt and she replied, "yeah, I was looking for that earlier and couldn't find any". I'm just not a fan of Frickers. This location is very dark, no doubt hoping to hide how dirty it was, the chicken is sub par and these nachos were really not great. I should have known when the server couldn't tell me what was in the "meat sauce" that I shouldn't order. 1 star would be given for the food (I've been here twice and each entree was equally bad) and ultimately 2 stars because they do have a full bar and fairly good service. My husband and I were in Dayton for a concert. Decided to try Frickers before the concert. Upon entering we were "greeted " by an employee saying "You can find your own seating" as we worked our way to a table. TEN minutes later a server asked for our drink order and rushed off. Seems she disappeared as 15 minutes went by and no drinks. We finally received the drinks and before she could rush away we asked to order food. 20 minutes later my husband wanted another beer but no server in sight. He finally ordered one only to see our server go straight to another table and then to another table for their food. Over a year ago, my wife and I dined here and had a bad experience, so we haven't been here in a while. Just went back today, and what a disappointment again. It's just not what it was before covid. The burgers are frozen pre-pressed patties, and the chicken, which I've always liked, was dried out. The waitress was exceptionally nice, and the food wasn't her fault at all. Stopped in with my neighbor for lunch while we were out shopping. We seated ourselves & perused the menu. It was pretty dark inside so difficult to see the menu. We both ordered Diet Pepsi. Unfortunately, this trip is by far the worst ever. 25 minutes to get drink order, an hour to get food ordered. 2 hours later! Food arrived, well part of it.... The flavor was spot on Americanized burrito served with sour cream jalapeño peppers and salsa. The texture was a bit to be desired, the burrito meat was watery and had soaked through the tortilla. The boneless chicken wins the food award served with hot and medium sauce. BBQ and garlic. The chicken was moist and tender the sauce didn't over power the chicken. I counted 10 tv's probably more like 20 though, and all with what seemed like each with a different game and they are busy. Fun loving people watching the games having some beers and a good time. If you are coming here just for the food re-think. If you are looking for a fun place to hang with your friends, watching the game then you might give this a try. The service is extremely slow but the servers are nice. I tried the chicken wings. I asked for crispy with the new dry rub. The wings were far from crispy in fact, they were disgusting. They were very soggy and the seasoning was thrown in the plate, but not on the wings. When I picked up a wing, if it had seasoning on it, it fell off. Although it was a Cajun flavor it was more salt based then a rub. Needless to say I only ate 2 wings before I chose to just drink my dinner. The beer is rather cheap. She is visiting from another country and they told us they wouldn't take it bc of some BS reason... After that I said fine, let's order. We ordered the Hot and Kicker wings with a white chicken soup. I asked for Blue Cheese for my wings. Food got to the table in normal time however the soup was cold and the blue cheese was horrible. I worked in bar/restaurant before and they use the same generic, low grade blue cheese that comes in a 5 gallon bucket. Sorry, I just expect a bit more from a place that prides themselves on wings. This place is like Chuckie Cheese for adults. Loud, colourful, florescent lights everywhere. It's definitely not a fancy place, there is a game room for kids.
