After seeing good things on Groupon about Asia, I scheduled my appointment with her and headed on in (after exfoliating and skipping the moisturizer that day, of course). Asia was outgoing and friendly and immediately made me feel right at home as I neatly folded my underwear and hid them under my jacket. I mean, when you have someone touching, applying hot wax, and yanking out your hair, um, everywhere down there, you really have to feel some sort of comfort with the person. And so I proceeded to tell her all about my personal life. She rolled with it. Laughed in the right places. Acted shocked in the right places. In other words, made my experience waaaayyyy more enjoyable than a Brazilian wax should be. I typically do my brows myself, but with a big trip and two weeks of wanting to spend zero extra time on my makeup, I decided to leave nothing to chance and opted to have them tended professionally. I paid the extra fee to have the owner, Destiny, do my brows herself. No messing around. I walked in and she was ready. The space was clean, and I dropped into some casual conversation with her and her coworker with ease. They were both free when I walked in, but both chairs filled within a few minutes. I explained where I was going/my needs, and she did her thing. My brows are a little uneven as far as thickness, so for the first couple of days I added a little fill to the one, but after a couple of days they evened out and still looked great. The shape was perfect, they were the right shade, and gave me the POP I wanted. I went in the ocean multiple times, salty hot springs, hiking in the Mexican sun, endured a myriad of pillowcases in hotels, plus had my sleep mask and several different hats on, and we're still looking pretty good now that I'm home from my adventures. I would definitely consider microshading there in the future. Destiny's vibe might not be right for everyone, but the Browtique was it for me.
