Established in 2021.
The story of Sweetly Bronzed began in 2020 when founder Ashley Akins returned to Ohio and started offering sugaring and spray tans to friends and family from her parents’ basement. Word spread quickly, and what began as a simple setup turned into something much bigger.
As the demand grew, so did the vision. Ashley opened the first Sweetly Bronzed location in Columbus, creating a space where beauty meets luxury, professionalism, and a best friend energy you don’t find just anywhere.

Meet the Business Owner: Ashley A.
Ashley began her beauty journey at the Paul Mitchell School in Columbus in 2014. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles to grow her career and explore new techniques - which is where she discovered the art of sugaring. As someone with sensitive skin, she was instantly drawn to it’s gentleness and results.
What started as a personal solution quickly turned into a passion. Ashley became a specialist in both sugaring hair removal and spray tanning, recognizing that the combination of the two created something completely unmatched - a next-level confidence boost in under 20 minutes.
In 2020, Ashley returned to Columbus with a clear vision: to elevate and fully specialize in two services that are often overlooked. Sweetly Bronzed was created to do things differently. Instead of offering a little bit of everything, Ashley chose to master two - building a beautiful, curated space where these “basic” services feel luxurious, intentional, and anything but ordinary.
