Not only do I experience significantly less irritation but I find I get a smoother, better result. I find virtually none of the ultra fine baby hairs that get left behind when I wax. Skin & Sugar is pretty much the only place I'll go to, everyone I've met here is super friendly and make the services feel like no big deal. I've found other places that specialize in hair removal can be impersonal and kind of scary, but I always feel incredibly at ease here. It's no longer an appointment I dread making, and I cannot recommend this business enough!

I was very nervous going in and she helped me keep calm by talking me through everything. It's been a little over a month and I have been very satisfied with the results! I also just love the atmosphere of everything, from the website to the office space to the individual waxing rooms. They also have a good blog with recommendations before your first wax. Overall I had a great experience with this business and am excited to go back.

Also, I haven't really run into people that are averse to transwomen in the past couple years transitioning, but I know we (trans women) can feel nervous when seeking someone new and not being sure if things will go smoothly because of our gender stuff. Happy to say say that it wasn't even a thing; I just said my pronouns and after that didn't feel like anything else was different than if I hadn't said anything in the first place, which is my ideal scenario when it comes to inclusivity. LOVE! I saw a Groupon for a Dermaplane treatment with Elena. Her studio is located in a side…read morebuilding off of Mill Street so you just have to keep a keen eye out for the door or else you might go past it. When you walk in you see her display of makeup products and some little water bottles. It's a super cute place! Before we started, she had me fill out paperwork about any medical history, my skin care routine, and what I would like to achieve with the service. I've never done dermaplaning, but Elena walked me through each step and made me feel comfortable. First, she cleanses your skin. Then she goes through with the Dermaplaning which is scalping off the top layer of dead skin to help regenerate a new layer. You can't make sudden movements since she is using a scalpel, but I found it relaxing! Elena has so much knowledge about skin and told me I have very dry skin. She talked about what products would be helpful in aiding my dry skin and gave me a huge reminder to use sunscreen. Will be adding that and the hyaluronic acid serum to my skincare routine. After that she cleanses my face again and put a hot towel over my face to help open up the pores. She used a machine (I forgot what it's called), but it looks like a spatula and vibrates to help push out black heads and other gunk in my face. She even pushed out a stubborn blackhead for me after and popped a little zit I had near my forehead. This part hurt the worst! She also did a little peel treatment for me. I just couldn't remember if it was before or after the blackheads part. She then cleanses my face again, put a sample of the hyaluronic acid and moisturizes my face. I am not going to lie my face was a little red and I had red scraped spots from where she pulled out blackheads and my face was not looking pretty!!! Luckily you can wear makeup and go about your normal routine 30 min-an hour after the treatment. Later that night my skin peeled a little bit by my chin which was fine! Nothing too crazy. She even gave me a couple samples to take home. This is the second day after my treatment and I must say, any acne scars and red spots have faded a lot just from treatment! My skin looks more clear from the previous discoloration I've had. Thank you so much Elena and I will most definitely be back.

I am new to Ohio & weeks prior had mistakenly gone to 'K Manley Studio Spa & Cosmetics' to get my very first lash extension done by the owner 'Kay' & had a not so wonderful experience. After spending $200 on lashes that only seemed to be on 60% of my lashes & felt neglected by Kay while she texted & failed to ask me what look I wanted or if I was even comfortable?! I decided to seek out a new salon since getting lashes isn't cheap, & I wanted the experience & service to match the price. I then found nurse Kelly K & scheduled to have my eyelash fills done by her, hoping for a more serene experience & cost worthy outcome. She was over the top friendly & greeted me in a calming dimmed room with relaxing music. After some short chitchat she evaluated my barely intact extensions & asked me what I wanted in regards to the look of my lashes. She genuinely seemed to care, listened to what I wanted, honestly voiced her opinion on what would look right on my eyes, & then worked her magic! 1 hour 30 min later I left her salon feeling relaxed & looking like a million bucks w/my new lashes. Which FYI she put individual lashes on EVERY SINGLE LASH (not like my failed previous experience at different salon). I paid $99 for the membership to get my lashes filled 2 times & can promise you her work is worth every dollar! Thank you for showing a lash extension newbie what a great experience should be, I can't wait to get them filled in a couple weeks!!!
