this was my first time trying fresh kitchen, i ordered the kale cesar with citrus chicken, and i was pleasantly surprised with the kale. it was so fresh and delicious!! however, the chicken made me a little sick. as i was eating it i noticed multiple blood clots in it, meaning they don't clean it correctly, which is dangerous because can lead to salmonella, so i ended up throwing it out, out of safety. i will definitely be back for the kale tho! and the choc chip cookie was AMAZING read more

We used to be able to order Family Meals on the Fresh Kitchen website then go pick it up. Apparently they don't do this any longer and the staff has no clue either. We called and were told to talk to a catering manager. The catering manager does not pickup for immediate ordering, you will be stuck in a loop. We just want a family meal, not catering. I hope Fresh Kitchen brings back the Family Meal ordering soon. We have not been going as often as we were because of this hiccup. read more

I had just finished my daughter's graduation, and I was craving some decent food; as I cruised up University Drive, I noticed a place called the fresh kitchen! Typically fresh kitchen-type places are healthy non-tasty food establishments. This place is similar to a Chipotle in the way you order, so I ordered a larger bowl with three proteins and a lot of the extras. My proteins consisted of chicken, and man, let me tell you how good that chicken was! I instantly became a fan of this place, and I can't wait to return. The people behind the counter seemed to be a little impatient. I was trying to push myself along since this was the first time I was there. I was familiar with their menu. Besides that, the place was fantastic, including the food, and I can't wait to go back again! 4-27-22 Noon Came here with a work colleague as they picked this place. Easy to get to on University drive and great parking in a strip shopping plaza. Once we approached the restaurant it is noticeably was decorated with succulents outside. They are very well maintained. Once inside very easy to figure out the concept, go on line to left to order your food as they put your bowls together. I ordered a bowl of 4 which consists of two bases a protein, a veggie and a sauce. To drink a can of Waterloo brand carbonated canned grapefruit water. Next I refer to Yelp to see the critics most popular items, ok noodles and sweet potato and protein barbecue chicken. OMG this was the most delicious bowl I had ever eaten. The only comment I took a sauce on the side but never even touched it. The food was so flavorful and delicious so it did not need it. Will be back soon if not often! I totally loved the food here, with its quality and flavors satisfying my expectations. I enjoyed that it was also fresh and seemingly organic. This was my first visit here and the service was friendly, fast and fun. Last but not least, the ambiance here was cute and unique. I enjoyed the overall experience here at fresh kitchen! I chose to rate it a 4/5 simply because although I was so very satisfied, I would say the prices are a bit high, which I don't mind paying for quality, however for the price you do only get limited options from my perspective thus far. The venue itself is kept relatively clean, and the food is constantly moving, so you know you're getting "fresh" food from their "kitchen" just behind the service counter (see what I did there? ha!). Their portion sizes are reasonable for the price, and options for all dietary needs are available. In addition, I genuinely appreciate that the employees verbalize ingredients to consumers when prepping their bowls to facilitate honesty and consumer satisfaction. Overall, the staff is pleasant, and their business dynamic appears efficient given how crowded they get around lunchtime. Unfortunately, however, there are times when their "hot food" felt room temperature or colder than one would've preferred. Perhaps they need a bit of a better hot-plate heating system to ensure hot foods -- like their almond chicken, mashed cauliflower, and roasted veggies -- remain hot. I love that you can always ask to sample the item before you add it to your bowl. They are always nice about it. Sweet Potato Noodles: Cold Pretty good, this used to be my go to base Kale Salad: My current go to base. I like to pair it with the Holy Kale dressing Cauliflower Mash: I could LIVE off of this. I think it is cauliflower mash mixed with potato mash (I see the potato chunks in there). I was sad when they switched it out for the seasonal sweet potato mash Sweet Potato Mash: It's a good seasonal item. I prefer the Cauliflower mash Brussel Sprouts: This place got me into brussel sprouts. I didn't know they can taste so good Broccoli Parm: I LOVE this, it's so good. Must try Spiced Chickpeas: I enjoyed this, I wanted to switch it up from my usual go to Almond breaded Chicken: AMAZING! I pair it it with a dressing to make it less dry. BBQ Chicken: This is super good, I'm not really a saucey food person but damn this is worth a try guys. Zucchini Brownies: FREAKIN AMAZING. So moist, you can't even taste the zucchini but it makes your feel less fat because there are vegetables in there. Remember to show your Student ID for a discount. Catering: OK, so one semester during finals week I ordered catering for a family of 8 for myself. Going into this restaurant and ordering was the single most stressful interactions I have had all year, I have anxiety after leaving here. I would never order in person from here again. The employees were rude, rushing, and speaking over me as I was asking questions due to it being my first time at this restaurant. They made my bowl wrong and I was trying to explain that it was the wrong bowl but they were moving too quickly to bother about the quality of the work they were doing. In the 15 minutes I was here I heard 3-4 separate customers complaining about their order being wrong. On top of this, the food was mediocre and my veggies and protein were both cold. They do not take Apple Pay or a chip card, they only offer swiping. The only positives were the restaurant had a very cute aesthetic and the line did move rather quickly. read more

I got their 6 bowl (2 bases, 2 veggies, and 2 proteins) with cauli/potato mash, perfect spice rice, parm broccoli, golden spice chickpeas, bbq grilled chicken, and almond baked chicken, with feta cheese on top. The music, however, is so loud that I had to ask thr employees several times to repeat themselves until I could make out (or guess) what they were saying. They were all cheerful and polite and accommodating, but noise was unnecessary and annoying. I wish they had washable plates and cutlery for those staying to eat. The place creates a lot of waste. PS to mangement: people come here to eat healthy - for goodness' sake, take the skin off of the chicken before serving!
