She would lock us out before the actual closing time, while our clothes were still in the dryer drying. We would have to call the number on the window and she would answer and say "I thought you guys were not going to show up"(the call was before 8pm/closing time). They close at 8pm but if you walk in at 7:04pm you were not allowed to wash since they were "closing" because no one was in there. We are Hispanics and she would treat us very very different from the other customers whom would walk in while we were in there (white customers). Very polite to everyone but us. Rita would never great us nor ever have conversations like she would with everyone else. Yes she has great washing machines and dryers but her personality and attitude towards us would make us feel so uneasy and unwelcoming. I've had dry cleaning at Sunny's a few times now, including 2 wool coats (men's & women's), cashmere scarves, men's 2 piece suit. The cleaning itself is thorough and without any damage. (I was told at a small dry-cleaners Boston that my women's wool coat could never be dry cleaned because the buckles required extra care and the black color might bleed, while another place in Boston charged a ton to clean it). Sunny's has never given me an issue with the same coat, and charged me an EXTREMELY reasonable price. The service lady who works at the counter is so nice, and is very knowledgeable about fabrics and cleaning. I recently needed a 2 piece suit men's suit cleaned right away for my husband, and she charged me the same regular price for having it ready for the next day..the NEXT DAY! It was even ready a few hours prior to when she had said. I would've paid an arm/limb/and then some for that kind of service in a big city. Plus I used a 20% coupon from the Valu-Pak. So they are great at dry cleaning, very respectful, great prices, plus have coupons, timely service. Everyone should come here. There are also more than enough baskets and folding tables. While you are waiting, there are two round tables and other chairs. There was a television and free WiFi offered (but did not use). It's a she too because the ceiling is rather ornate. The walls are dirty and the paint is peeling. They have standard top loaders, commercial large capacity machines and large stack dryers. The prices are reasonable for being in a college town. The owners of this location also own two other laundromats in town, one in downtown which is in similar conditions and the other on the opposite side of the street of Jiffy Lube, also on S. Main.
