HISTORY Have serviced my 2004 F-150 at solely Ford dealerships and at Freeway Ford since 2008. Service has been fine until recently. COMPLAINT Last visit had a recommendation to change all the drive train fluids despite doiing this at 70,000 miles (recommendation by Ford is 100,000 miles) Also was told my brake and power steering fluids should be flushed and replaced - despite no recommendations in the service manual. Had thought this was maybe just some pressured upselling and said "no." Then, 2 weeks ago, I get a letter from Freeway Ford telling me to come in right away because my brakes need immediate service - despite bringing in the F-150 at every scheduled service date and being told brakes are good at last service just a 3 weeks ago. ACTION Took the F-150 to a private service station. They said there is nothing wrong with the brakes, the power steering fluid, brake fluid, transmission or differntial fluids. Brake pads are fine. FINAL THOUGHT Trying to decide if I should continue to service my F-150 at Freeway Ford or not. read more

I went in for new brake pads. Something the shop apparently didn't find it necessary to tell me about 5 weeks ago when I was there. At that visit they'd been quick to point out (and repair!) a leaking seal and a leaking gasket. Yet nothing was said about the brake pads until I finally got to pick up my Escape and of course it was the end of the day then... So 5 weeks later I'm back for brake pads and now (of course!) I need rotors too. EVERY time I get brake pads I've needed rotors as well. There seems to be a serious flaw in the brake pad ratings if this is the case. I was also very annoyed it hadn't been brought up 5 weeks earlier when I likely would NOT have needed rotors and it could have saved me $$. It really made me feel like the reps were all about communicating things that cost $$ but NOT good at communicating repairs that if done sooner vs later might save the customer some money. So now I get to buy rotors as well as brake pads. And then they come tell me yet another seal is leaking....seriously? Why was that not caught 5 weeks ago? Along with the burned out license plate light bulb (which I knew about at the prior appt and forgot to tell them, yet their inspection didn't catch it either...) The rep for the brake pad visit apologized for my frustration and said he'd make sure it was communicated. 10 days later and ..... not a word from them! I've been pretty happy with the service until the last few months. Something seems to have changed and not in a good way... read more

I recently purchased a vehicle from Freeway Ford. My salesperson was Saad. I found him to be helpful and personable. We were able to come to an agreement for the value of my trade and the price of the used vehicle I was purchasing. Saad did not pressure me, though he did ask to close the sale (which is his job) in a professional manner. The service department were also able to take care of a concern of mine while I waited. It took some time, but I am not the sort who expects the world to stop spinning and attend to my wishes. I read some of the negative reviews here before I purchased but decided to go check it out anyway, as they had a vehicle I was interested in. The staff all seemed courteous to me. Saad took my call minutes before they closed one evening and told me to call him on his cell if I could make it in the next day as I had planned. It was his day off. I did call him, and he did sacrifice his time to come in. In fact, when the service department ran in to a hang up that required running to another dealership to get a part, Saad took me to lunch, I offered to pay but he insisted. We had a bite and a nice chat while waiting and soon, after eating, my vehicle was ready. He also called to check how things were going a few days after our transaction (this is how you gain long-term customers). When an extra set of keys for my vehicle were found, Saad called again and offered to ship them. The keys arrived yesterday. I couldn't be more pleased with the level of attention I received for, what in the end was, a small dollar deal. The only reason I did not give five stars is due to the facilities being a little old. Good news on that front though, they are soon undergoing a remodel. I think experiences can vary because some salespeople are all different, but I can comfortably recommend Saad. My wife and I bought a 2011 Expedition there last November, had about 48K miles. We were pleased. My wife just brought it in for it's 50K (Ford says 52.5K) service, the service desk called and said Ford's maintenance scheduled called for a transmission flush at 50K. I asked if they drop the pan and replace the filter, and was told no, that's at the 100K interval. How much? $237! But, since we paid nearly $30K, what the heck. Go ahead says I. OK, dudes. I bought the vehicle there, and now you've got my $237. But I won't be back, there's no education in the second kick of the mule. For your $237 you have lost a customer forever. read more

THE WORST SERVICE DEPARTMENT I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED AND THE SERVICE MANAGER OLY WAS EXTREMELY RUDE. We returned our defective 2015 Ford Explorer to the selling dealer "Freeway Ford" and we were treated like the enemy. After three trips to the service department and three weeks without our vehicle their diagnosis could not have been more wrong. The $1250 estimate to replace our "leaking turbo" would not have fixed our complaint, in fact was not even leaking as indicated by Ty. Freeway Ford and Ford Motor Company has lost a customer, correction an entire family of customers for life. This post is based on my experience with Ford Motor Company and Freeway Ford. Be very careful. In two separate occasions when in for a simple oil change they have tried to tell me my vehicles need brakes. The first being my 2014 F150 which I refused and found odd since I have owned 3 new F150s since 2010 and none have needed brakes at 40,000 mi. My regular dealer verified the brakes were fine and did not need to be replaced...The 2nd time On another vehicle I was told that brakes were needed as there was only 1mm of pad left on the fronts and 2mm on the rear. I found this odd since the rear had drum style brakes and they had not removed the tires yet so It would have been impossible to tell how worn they were (that and I had recently replaced the brakes on all 4 wheels!). They quoted me almost $1000 to replace the already new brakes. read more

I called them in the afternoon at 1pm to inquire about a car loan for one of their used cars. They got back to me within an hour. He got my information and I waited a day. I called back the next morning, the guy said he would talk to another person and get back to me, at the latest, tomorrow. I never heard back from him. It was a waste of time and the lack of communication alone is something that no one should have to put up with, especially if you are going to do business with them! I had great service from the sales person who sold me my Flex. My issue is with the "service" department. I made an appointment on-line for my first oil change. I showed up and was told you don't make an appointment for an oil change, you go to the Quick Lane place. This was not told to me in a kind way, more that I was an annoyance for not knowing what to do. It would have been nice to get a call or message about that when I made the on-line appointment. The women behind the counter at Quick Lane laughed at me for not knowing how the Quick Lube system worked. I received an email asking about my experience and I responded that is was bad. The service manager called me and proceeded to blame the sales person for not telling me how the "service" department works, he was not nice to me. The sales person may have told me but I may have forgotten, so next time I buy a car I will take notes about the service department so I will remember what to do. I had the car before this and it was serviced at a Walser dealership what was always a good experience, so I was taken aback by the lack of customer service. I felt like I had gone back to the 1970s where car people ignored customers. I tried the Quick Lane for the next oil change. I showed up about 15 mins after they opened and was ignored. So now I get my oil changes at Valvoline Rapid Oil. Those guys are nice and professional. Last week the plastic cover under my Flex came off on one side and was dragging on the ground. I call Freeway Ford for help at around 5:30pm on a week day and was told all the technicians had gone home and no one would help me. I called Apple Ford who was happy to help me. Even though they had a steady stream of cars coming in for service that night, my car was fixed in under an hour. They were nice and professional to me. read more

They sold me the wrong van. 147" wheel base instead of 130". They won't get me the van that suites me. Not ideal and very difficult to park in Minneapolis, where I live and work. Doesn't fit my driveway, but it's mine now. read more

This dealership is seriously inadequate at follow through on agreements done at sale. They make the sale get their money and then they stop all effort on your behalf. If I could give a zero instead of a one star I would. The vehicle purchased from them was paid for in full and was to be shipped out of state on next transport truck. It took 2 full months , several phone calls of runaround and the buyer finally had to arrange transport himself to get the car sent. Boo, Hiss..I would never go to this dealership again for anything. We've been looking for a new vehicle to replace our 1 year old Ford F-150. Interactions were limited to phone after submitting a request on TrueCar. I was contacted right away the following morning by one of their sales representatives. I told them what I was looking for, told them what I needed for trade (they claim they pay top dollar). I was told they would call back...I never received a response, not even an e-mail. I followed up (days later), only to get a message from their sales manager explaining they weren't even close. I have no idea what they would have offered, they never told me. They just told me they couldn't help me. Since when does a dealership throw away customers like that? If I owned this dealership, I think a couple of guys would be getting a talking to...I was going to pay good money for a brand new truck and they turned me away. I would never deal with this place again. I paid 35k for a vehicle almost 4 weeks ago. They were to have the car delivered since I purchased from out of state. They choose to lowball the shipping cost and hold my car to wait for cheep cartage. When I finally was fed up with being sugar coated by management I called a company myself and paid the $250 difference to get car delivered in a week. I was amazed at how they literally ignored me. Nice staff but not the best service. My new car came, Ford f150, and I absolutely love it. Don't know if I'll do business there again though. Took a week to get my cover installed on the car. I was told to expect my license plates within 7-10 days off purchase. Definitely won't be more then 10 days, I was told. 21 days later, I'm still waiting and my temporary registration has now expired. Im supposed to risk getting a ticket, which would result in higher insurance cost because it takes more than twice the amount of time I was told to get a license plate. It would have been nice of them to at least set up for me to renew a temporary registration. read more

Lack of care towards the problems their lack of communication have to the customer. Dropped vehicle off in the morning with no discussion as to timing so I am assuming will get back in a day since it is just one part that has to be replaced. I get no call, so I call in at 3:30 to check the status and come to find out they still have to order the part which won't be there until morning. Now I am without a vehicle if I want to have them finish the work until late morning the following day. I am not sure they would have even called me. The good news is they are not friendly at all. The person I dropped the car off was a robot and the person I talked to had was not concerned what the situation was doing to my life, and even tried to defend it by saying he just got the information about ordering the part. I hate it when a worker responds by defending their role and in essence saying they couldn't do anything instead of trying to think of solutions that may make the situation better. Apparently Freeway Ford hires robots that can't think on their own. read more

This past year both my wife and I have bought new vehicles at Freeway Ford. She bought a new Escape and I bought a new F-150. Derek was very easy going and helpful in selecting our vehicles. My wife had an Escape before, so she pretty much knew what she wanted and that was just to get a new one, since she had a lot of miles on her old one. I needed a truck that could pull my 5th wheel trailer. I pull my 5th wheel trailer less than 1,000 miles per year, so getting a truck that would give me better gas mileage and a little easier to park made a lot of sense to me. Derek and the sales group made purchasing the vehicle and enjoyable experience. Derek took his time and looked at many vehicles that I might be interested in before I decided on the one that I wanted. read more

I had a problem with my car diagnosed at another dealer and called around for pricing on the actual repair. It was a very specific problem - repair or replace the PTU. Three other shops quoted similar prices: about $1500-2000 all in for parts and labor. Freeway quoted me $2,400 for a $700 part, PLUS 8 hours of labor. I had one other service experience here that was just ok - I will not be going back under any circumstances. read more

Not only did he take action on a several of my questions as one would expect, but did so even on his days off. Freeway Ford will not stop pestering me with junk and stealth mailings and phone calls. I repeatedly wrote and called this dealer and told them to stop sending me promotions and calling me by phone. Eventually I was told they would "try but can't guarantee anything". Nothing happened, this dealer keeps sending mailings and calls by phone, neither of which I answer. read more

My husband and I had the absolute worst experience with this dealership. They sold us a certified pre-owned truck that was a piece of junk from day one. We had it in for repair about every two months in the 1.5 years we owned it, and when we went in to Freeway Ford to inquire why there were so many problems with a so-called "certified vehicle", they gave us a bunch of lines and tried to kick my husband out of the dealership because he was angry. Of course he was angry; we paid top dollar for a piece of junk!!! The GM and sales manager both spoke with us about the issues at one point and neither was willing to take the truck back, despite all the issues we had with it. Thank God we bought the extended warranty, or we'd be out about $9000. Eventually we gave up on this place, traded the piece of junk for a new truck with the help of a better, friendly, customer-oriented Ford dealership, and we will NEVER work Freeway Ford again! read more

I gave up on that method and proceeded to find the car I wanted to test drive and lo and behold, the driver side door was unlocked so I opened it as to inspect the interior. Surely, someone will come out now - I am sitting in one of their cars! I'm either interested in it or I am stealing it so someone has to come out. I can see them in their 1950s glass office building jabbering away - the one that I parked right in front of when I pulled into the lot. It was at least another 10 minutes of sitting in the car, getting out for another walk-around, sitting in the back to check leg room and still no assistance...so let me tell you about the luxury sedan I bought from Luther Bloomington Hyundai, worked with Paul...I could still be sitting there in that car at Freeway Ford waiting for someone to come out read more

I had my 2013 diesel ford f350 gel up on me last week while I was out of town. So I called ford roadside service and they found the only place that could get me in that day was freeway ford. So I said that was fine even though it was out of the way for me. Come to find out that they said they needed to hook up the computer to make sure there wasn't any other problems with the truck. They only wanted to do this so they could charge me $202.50 for there diagnostic charge for a 5 min reset. So after a $500 bill to pay to fix a problem that could have been fixed for much less if they weren't so greedy I was back on my way. The service guy I talked to (Phil) couldn't believe I was second guessing what they were charging. So I called my service guy from my hometown and he called and talked to Phil and said there is no way there could be that high of a charge for something as simple as changing the fuel filters. After the phone call Phil let me know that the charge for the work was remarkably a little cheaper than he told me 10 min earlier. Now how could it get cheaper when they did everything they said they were going to do? I think they are just making up numbers to get the highest amount from each customer. And $500 is no bargain. I would have given them a zero star but I had to pick one to be able to write review. I will be spending my down time trying to make sure I get this message out to as many people as possible. Save your money and find a shop who isn't trying to rip you off. read more

Great immediate service when looking at the Ford Fusion we were interested in, even though it was right before close on a Friday. Sales person had car pulled up and ready for us in the morning when we came in to see it again/take it for a test drive. The car itself was fine, so we started the negotiation process. We agreed on a price, interest rate, monthly payments, and a few repairs decently even though they cycled two different people in addition to the sales person in front of us. When everything was "agreed upon," we waited almost an HOUR for the papers and NOBODY paid attention to us. All staff scattered and let us just sit in the office the entire time. FINALLY someone said we were next for papers AFTER we asked directly. HOWEVER, the person came out and called for ANOTHER person in line before us. So more waiting. We were livid, since it takes about 20 minutes for the first part of that process, and can take up to an hour for each deal. When we finally met with someone, she waltzed across the entire showroom for five minutes before "finding" us. When she sat down, she told us the car was "as is" and had hail damage. This was news to us, as the sign on the car had the 30 day/1000 mile warranty box checked and NOBODY had said ANYTHING about hail damage. We demanded to see what they were talking about and were brought to our car, which had been cleaned up. Without the dirt, the damage was everywhere. They refused to drop the price for the damage AND told us that they were not going to be able to get the agreed upon interest rate. We were done. Walked out. Would NOT recommend this place for ANYTHING. They are poor service, quality, and trust all around. Awful. read more

I live 100 miles from this dealership and found a used 4wd hybrid and set up appointment to test drive. Then I got called and told so many people are looking at it they wanted a $500 payment to not sell until my appointment. I did this and all was set. Day before apptmnt they had major ice and 10" snow--worst in 25 years as said the state troopers and Mn Dot has no travel advised. I.and I do not know why, tried to get to the apptmnt but VERY BAD roads made me turn around. I emailed them I would not be there and then called to confirm the missed apptmnt and to reschedule. The lady could not undertstand why I couldn't get there and that maybe I could try again later in the day. (Note--I live 100 miles away and she knew this!!!!!)Hearing that comforting concern for safety I laughed and said let's set something up 3 days later. I was told that they would refund my $500 and to call when I wanted to come in as they could not hold the vehicle that long. Well I hope they enjoy that kind of customer concern and service.....I'll go elsewhere. read more
