if you are thinking about going solar, stay away from freedom forever solar llc. nothing but lies and deception. will not save you money. my electric costs doubled. freedom forever solar llc is a very bad company. sale rep showed up on my doorstep in march, promising to save me a ton of money, and eliminate fpl. beware, they have you sign the contract before the home and roof inspection. got their system sunrun up and running, didn't produce enough. now i was paying 2 electric bills, sunrun and fpl. when i complained i was told by freedom forever it's in the contract. we don't guarantee you will save money. they then suggested they will add more panels but, forgot to mention it was a whole new contract with mosiac. i was led to believe i was signing for the extra panels. now i am paying 3 electric bills, sunrun $97.00, mosiac $60.00, and fpl over $70.00 a month. don't do it. stay away from freedom forever solar llc. very bad company. read more

I purchased a large system for our home a year ago. I just got My settlement bill from So. Ca. Edison for $606. I added up the output monitored on Solar edge and the system is producing at 33% less than expected for the first year. The contract states you only have 60 days from the utilities settlement date to make a claim. I am so glad I found out about this now. I'm sure many people have been ripped off. Whose to say that Freedom Forever will fix my system or reimburse me. Only time can tell. No one should have to deal with this, especially after only having the system for a year. My installation was completed 5/22/22 and finally went live on 8/19/22. It worked for 18 days and then stopped working. No one let me know there was a problem until I called customer service. They told me that my inverter was not working. I called customer service repeatedly until I finally got someone to tell me that they had to get the inverter from the manufacturer. I have called every week since then, and last week was told the inverter had come in, and in fact was scheduled to be installed on 11/3/22. No one called to tell me this-I would not have known if I had not called to complain. I stayed home all day on 11/3/22 waiting for techs to show up and no one ever did. At 6:30 pm I called customer service again, and was told that my install was scheduled only if the techs had time to get to it, and they did not. I asked when it would actually be installed and was told some one from scheduling would call me and no one ever did. I called customer service again and was told I could call back on 11/8/22 to find out when it was scheduled. I have now been on hold with Freedom Forever customer service for 55 minutes with no response. read more

After reading all of the negative reviews about the company, they should consider turning their technicians into sales/installers who can carry you through the whole process. We had our pannels installed over 90 days ago. Since then, nothing has been done. We have emailed our original rep many times with no response. We finally threatened to have our pannels removed and we finally received a response. However there is still no scheduled date for the city to come out and inspect! read more

I'm glad I got solar but I started this process in June 2020 it's February of 2021 now and my system is still not hooked up. They weren't very good at keeping me up to date, they scheduled appointments without my knowledge and 50% of the time were on time And the other 50% of the time it wasn't guaranteed they would show up. everyone seemed to have different information about my project but no one had all of the info. Multiple trips wasted because not having the right info or equipment. The staff is friendly and always accomodated me when they made a mistake but how much of my time do you have to waste before u finish a project?! It took 3 trips to my house for it finally to be installed and I had 2 final inspections because the first inspector (who I don't think is a part of freedom forever) was really rude and impatient. I recommend going solar but don't recommend doing it through freedom forever. Also I had to start paying for my solar loan before it was hooked up They company reimbursed me but one thing after another not goin good is dumb and you guys need to get on top of your shit. read more

Updating this review now that the project is complete. I was close to walking away, but Mary Anno, their customer experience specialist, saved this project. I was getting stonewalled by the impenetrable and incompetent tech support team when contacting through the Freedom Forever website, but after complaining on Yelp I received an email from Mary within hours. From that point on she removed every road block and got the job done. Even made the extra effort to meet our HOA requirements. If we had worked with Mary from the start then this would be a 5 star review. Unfortunately, I can't ignore the challenges we faced before Mary stepped in to help. Before she stepped in, the project was stalled at the audit phase and had no indication of moving forward. read more

I signed my contract October 2020. It's now July of 2021 and my panels are still not installed! Freedom has blamed everyone else taking no responsibility on themselves. They blamed IREA for dragging their feet; DORA for mandating change after change. Never mind Freedom has documents showing them what they need to comply with to get approval and they failed to do so. I had to have 2 site audits because the first one was done incorrectly. My project was further delayed by Freedom because they didn't follow their own procedures and their installers/techs rejected their own proposal. I had to go out and take pics and measurements to help speed things along only to have them dismissed. As if this wasn't bad enough, now my sales reps isn't responding to my texts nor is his supervisor. They have a great pitch but it means nothing if they can't deliver! read more

Don't trust this company, people work there fool consumers and broke contracts on their own. I tried to reach out to Firas Kassis, who discussed the solar project and fixing my roof especially the sinking damaged area as initiating contract at my house since Contract signed on 2/28/2020. Freedom Forever solar company canceled my project without having my agreement in September. I am very upset about this since Firas talked to project manager in solar expert on phone and promised me on the fixing of my sinking roof area surly before me signing the contract, afterwards I even discussed and agreed to pay addition $2500 for making sure the whole roof could be taken care of, but now they just dump the project and pretending I never talked to them since the beginning or they did not discuss with solar expert construction team about it after having me signed the contract at my house. Solar expert took my $1000 deposit since early March, then told me that they were working with city at inspection and licenses, but till early July the construction team came by a bit then left, and Angelina from solar expert called me and said they will cancel this project unless I fix the sinking roof area first. This is very disappointing and truly ridiculous. I clearly told Firas and Firas discussed with his boss, project manager about taking care of the fixing of sinking roof construction as the contract initiated, now they tricked on me saying that was as stated in contract and they do not fix it unless I pay more! Very bad business company! Freedom forever solar had taken over 7 months for excusing away and breaking the contract on its own. I had patiently waited since contract signed on 2/28/2020, believing it said the team is working on permissions and licenses appropriately, but actually the team wanted to break the contract due to internal miscommunications and hang me up on the project. As forever freedom solar breaks a contract and walk away from its obligations under a legally binding virtual agreement while it tricked me saying not in written contract, forever freedom will be leaving itself open to legal action. I will be able to sue for breach and potentially recover any losses I may have suffered from its breach by court order. I wish I had researched Freedom Forever before my husband signed the contract. We trusted a friend of ours who was a solar sales rep. We didn't realized he didn't work for Freedom Forever (he's an independent contractor) until afterwards. We've had problems with this solar company from the get-go. Our solar wasn't performing as promised and in fact didn't produce any solar power whatsoever for 2 months. We got an outrageous electric bill at the end of the year for over $2000! Upon checking our electric company bills, we noticed that our solar power was reduced significantly the last 4 months of the year. We filed a claim with Freedom Forever and it was denied because they said that they were within the 10% GP (Guaranteed Performance). What's interesting is that according to my electric bill, I was actually making more power than I used and had a credit on my bill. Then, suddenly the next four months my electric bill went from a credit of several hundred dollars to OWING upwards of $400-$600 each month thereafter! And, this was during the time when my system produced no solar for a 2 month period due to their system failure! I think they manipulate the Solar production so that it reflects that they are within their 10% GP guarantee so they don't have to pay towards your electric bill (as promised in their website video). Stay far, far, away from Freedom Forever or you will be forever sorry! BTW, we have 43 panels which should be more than sufficient! read more

I had an amazing experience with Freedom Forever/Better Earth right from the beginning. Andrew was a pleasure to deal with and everything he promised was followed through with great detail. I had to pay no money down, and there is a short delay in paying your first bill which is great. Andrew had my system designed and ready at our meeting. When we spoke I was able to add more panels to increase my system for future household renovations. The program was showing me my monthly bill(since I financed) if I added or removed panels, which is a great bonus. My monthly solar bill is roughly $100.00 LESS per month than our electric bill, and I added more panels!! The installation crew were the most professional and courteous people I have dealt with when it comes to contractors. The crew lead, Jacob, was the best. His crew: Jonathan, Vincent, Ruben, David and Dillon were amazing. They were professional, neat, detailed and took every safety precaution. If you have Better Earth install your system just ask for Jacobs crew, maybe you'll be lucky to get them. read more

We have been in the process of having Solar installed by Freedom Forever since March. The roof work and installation seemed to go pretty smoothly; although, getting notified on when someone would or would not be at my home was hit and miss. Then after installation came the waiting, calls and messages left unanswered for weeks at a time. I called out salesman Bill Borger and he didn't even remember who I was! He said he would find out what was going on and get back to me....another call that was never made. After several text messages with no answer to the next person I was put in contact with "Brad" he apologized and stated he was no longer employed with Freedom Forever. I then called Customer Service. The lady was nice enough; however, would not put anyone on the phone for me to speak with. I would have to wait for a callback! I was then contacted by Tosha who said she was now going to be my contact person and informed me there was a problem and our newly upgraded electrical box had not been properly permitted. She said that she was in contact with the project manager to find out when someone could come out to assist with the permitting, but had no information on it. I would leave voice messages and text messages for Tosha so I could get updates, but seemed to be at least a week before I would get a call back and when I would get a call back from Tosha she would never have any of the answers to the questions I was asking about this process. Our inspections were being delayed. She would always say she would have to ask someone else or was waiting for that person to get back to her (I mean, do we not have cell phones that this person can be contacted on!) Finally, at the end of June I was notified that the inspection was scheduled. A week went by with no contact from Freedom Forever after the inspection. I left 3 messages, 1 each day and finally Tosha called me back to tell me that our electrical box inspection had failed....A BRAND NEW ELECTRICAL BOX THAT HAD JUST BEEN UPGRADED! Tosha then told me that she was waiting for information on what they were going to have to do to move us along to include getting our box replaced again and having to re-contract so the price could be included. I told her to expect a call from my husband because as far as I was concerned they could come and get their equipment off of our house. My husband tried calling the following day and shockingly enough had to leave a message for Tosha! Several days later with no return call from Tosha, my husband contacted Customer Service on a Wednesday. He asked to speak to someone in management which of course he was told that someone would have to call him back because she had to figure out who would be handling this call. By the following Tuesday, he still had not received a return call from anyone! He called Customer Service AGAIN and got the same "someone will have to call you back." He told her he needed a call back by the end of the day or we were contacting an attorney. No call ever came. As of mid July, our solar is not operational and now I am searching for legal representation against this company! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! I wish I could give these clowns no stars. Please whatever you do don't buy anything from these scammers. I purchased solar panels from them after giving them a copy of my last few electric bills. After a few months of active service I started having problems getting anyone to return my calls regarding my dissatisfaction with what I got. I was paying more for my electricity now than before between financing the panels and my electric bill. Mind you, you have to turn in electric bills for them to tell you how many panels you need so you pay a minimum electric bill. When I explained this to the rep I was told they would check to make sure my panels were working they way they were supposed to. I got a call a little while later with a rep who tells me the unit is working as expected and maybe I'm not getting enough sunlight. Then the magic statement " or you can finance additional panels to make sure you get the amount of electric you need. They are scammers and I wouldn't advise anyone to get anything from these people unless you want to pay more for electricity. read more

Paid $30k for a 13kwh system. The first year it produced 11.5kwh. This left me with a $1440 electric bill. They said they only guarantee 90%, so my 13kwh is really an 11.7kwh system. They offered $35 for compensation, what a joke. Recommend going thru Costco, you'll get much better customer service and they won't jerk you around. read more

I am doing another review because after my last review a business rep responded saying to contact them through the direct message feature on Yelp and leave my personal information. I did that weeks ago and still haven't heard from anyone at Freedom. I spent over 30k on my panels and roof and yet my utility bill is around 100 dollars or more per month. I now have 11 panels that do not produce what they are supposed to. They have owed me a reimbursement for a year and half and have not paid me! I'm close to suing this business. They have horrible quality panels that do not live up to their service guarantee and they provide the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. Even down to the sales person who originally sold me in this company. He promised to bring me a bottle of wine which he never did. I didn't ask for it or really expect it or need it, but it's the point that they will say anything. Again, I wish they had a zero star option. read more

I wish I had heard this before we went through with them. I regret it SO much. Not the panels but the company. They have absolutely horrible customer service. My sales person after a few months before the solars were done being installed he completely stopped answering all calls and text from me. I called the company almost Weekly spoke to at least 50 different people about $1000 rebait we was suppose to get from them for also using their security system and switching from ADT to them that never happened. Every time I spoke with someone they would give me a different number to call basically a different department in their business or an email. I even got the director of sales and the sales VP names and numbers left them both voicemails and never got a call back. The panels are now on but due to not having a net meter they do not impact our electric bill at all so now I'm stuck paying both my electric bill and solar company. I spoke to them about this because I know a few people who's solar companies paid for their payments or refunded them till the net meter was installed, nope freedom forever won't do that. Oh and they knew that there was no net meters since the beginning of this year but of course never told my husbands and I this information. This company is purchasing Yelp reviews - don't trust the 5 star ratings and notice how most of the recent reviews are negative! My husband received an email from this company inviting him to leave a Yelp review in exchange for an Amazon gift card. Very shady!! This is also the exact same company as Freedom Solar - I guess they tried to change their name to get away from their horrible Yelp score, instead of trying to actually become a better, more reputable company. You can look up that company on Yelp to see more of their terrible business practices. We had a horrific experience having these guys install our solar panels. Their customer service is abysmal and their operations team is a mess. We constantly had to follow up with them to find out what the heck was going on. I wish we had known about their name change before deciding to go with them, we definitely would have gone with someone else if we saw how unhappy their customers are. We were so EXCITED about going Solar! It took from May till November to get fully installed and operational. The installation team did a good job. Our problem and low rating is due to Post Sale communications. From our Salesman, Terry Bowie, to the Project Manager, Maurice Maull NO COMMUNICATION! Numerous phone calls and emails and never a response. Did they fall off the face of the earth! Haven't received the promo items promised at time of sale. Tried to refer our friends and they never received call backs. How can we send our friends and family to a company that has ZERO after Sale Customer Service!!! And we're having a hard time logging in to SolarEdge, the company that suppose to monitor our system. We are glad we went solar, our power bill was 10.12 last month. Yipeeee. But I don't think I would refer this company to anyone after the terrible follow up customer service. Still waiting for return calls and emails. read more

01-14-2019 Update: Initially gave these guys a 5 star rating but after discovering the damage their installation contractor did to my roof from the installation, need to downgrade them. First off, I would give this company a 0 star if it were an option. I paid 28,419.54 for a Solar Panel that did not include a Battery Power Backup System. BUYERS BEWARE. Do not do business with Freedom Forever, LLC Solar. Their Solar systems are no better than other companies. They are way too expensive for a Solar System that does not include a Battery Power Backup System. I checked around and you can get a Solar system for less that includes a battery power backup system. Their sales Representative's will do anything to get you to sign a contract. They lie and withhold any information that would allow you to make an informed decision as a potential customer. Despite asking many questions about how the Solar tax credit refund worked their sales Representative never stated to me that I was not guaranteed a Solar tax credit refund. Their Representative misled me, and I did not appreciate that. His comments were a deliberate attempt to mislead me, the customer. He led me astray, gave me a wrong impression, exciting as it was, that misled me into signing a contract with Freedom Forever. This is nothing more than unfair business practices (Shady Business). After reaching out to their customer support department for a resolution they responded with the classic "YOU SHOULD HAVE READ YOUR CONTRACT LINE". Of course, you should always read a contract before you sign it, but the questions I asked their Representative should have guided him to divulge that information to me, that a Solar tax credit refund is not guaranteed. At least that should have been the moral and decent thing to do. My advice is do not open your door when one of their Representatives knock on your door, tell them no thanks. Regret not checking with the Better Business Bureau first. Their reviews there were terrible. read more

We recently had solar panels installed on our home in Fallbrook. The crew was amazing! Polite, knowledgeable, competent and friendly. We appreciated the Freedom Forever staff reaching out to us several times before, during and after the install to make sure the process was going well. Freedom made the process easy for us by ensuring the panels were installed for maximum production, they pulled permits and scheduled inspection. We are so pleased and look forward to Freedom from utility bills! read more

The salesman told my 94 year old Grandma that the project would take one month to complete. Seven months later and they were finally hooking up her solar. But the team couldn't get the wires ran properly, and they left my Grandma without electricity overnight! The power had been turned off all day so they could run the solar wires, and they couldn't complete it that day. So we had to transport my Grandma and all her food to my Mom's house to stay overnight. They had no apologies and no compensation. Their customer service was horrible throughout the entire project, and when we asked for money off her final invoice, they said they couldn't do it without us providing a W-9 for my Grandma so they could pay her as a vendor! What??? For a $350 refund only! Really bad company and poor service. I called several times, but nobody could offer anything to rectify their service. When I asked for a supervisor to call me, they said they would take the message - I am still waiting for that call back. read more

This company is horrible I start my project almost a year ago in June 2020, signed the contract in July. They installed it months ago but it didn't pass inspection so they are doing nothing. I call at least once a month. I have made 4payments and am now getting ready for a 5th payment they said they would reimburse the payments but they have not. My reimbursement was approved months ago but I have yet to receive one dollar. I thought I would be lowering my electric bill but now I have two electric bills so I have added to my expenses instead of lowering them. They said I would get a credit from the state for putting in solar. That was a lie. You get a credit based on usage, my system isn't working so no credit. That credit only applies to the year you installed it. So I was screwed out of that. It takes them a long time to respond to your calls they have horrible customer support. I wanted 19k and I'm sick over it. read more

I would give them a 0 if that was an option. They started the panels installation 3 months ago, did not complete it, the technician has come to our house with 2 different breaker panels, and each time he blamed someone else for bringing the wrong panel. After calling them several times to find out the status, they blamed the city for the delay. But when I checked the status of the permit with the city, it showed it was approved. Each time I called, they said they would all me back with a status, but never did call me. Their generous payment plan states that no payment was due until 2 months after the installation and when I told them that the installation is incomplete, so no payment is due yet, they said that the installation does not need to be complete for them to collect payments. My husband and I are on a fixed income, and instead of these solar panels saving us money, they are costing us more, because we are still paying our PG&E bill and the monthly payments for the solar panels that are not doing anything. I have called them numerous times, and they always say someone will get back to me, but their customer service is non-existing. This company is extremely frustrating and a true nightmare to deal with. read more

I am very disappointed in Freedom Forever Solar. They took more than half of the purchase price as a deposit ($1000 and half the price when the site survey was completed --after initially asking for almost 80%!). The storm materializes that i was sent started that i should have paid the half of purchase upon installation, not sure assessment. They said that the material i was sent did not actually match their operations and the timeline was different than what i received in writing. Then it turned out that their contract was invalid because their original assessment of the panels needed was not adequate to meet the energy guarantee in the contract. With that contract invalid, and concerns around the deposit and engineering error, I asked for my money back, having lost all confidence in their operations. After a long time, they returned all but $1000 of my deposit, saying that i hadn't canceled before the three days cited in the contract. That contract was never valid. They won't return my calls and have been terrible on the customer service front. I would not do business with this company. read more

The dealers need more training in what they represent to the public. In defense of Freedom Forever, their Customer Support reached out when I said my experience was less than favorable to try to assist in rectifying my complaints. I won't go into everything, however, one of the issues the dealer represented was that the financing was fully assumable. I just sold my home and it was not - so $33K right off the top to pay off the solar. It did not make the value of the home more due to the solar which was represented by the dealer as well. To Freedom's credit, they have an amazing Cusomter Service person in Mary Anno who pointed out we have a 25 year relationship that Freedom wants tended to. I commend this effor by Freedom and for Mary's follow-up. She is currently checking into whether or not the system is producing as promised. read more

We signed a contract with Freedom Forever back in July of 2019 to have a solar system installed on our home. We were told that it should be operational by the end of August. We have had 6 months of delays, phone calls not being returned, unanswered requests for information, blaming the city, and empty reassurances. What we have not experienced is accountability and progress. The installation has not started yet, all these months later. We have been delayed out of the 2019 incentives that the government offered. We have requested that the project be halted and the contract be cancelled for non-performance. Big Fail with Freedom Forever. read more
