Went there to place an order for 4-gun magazines, which they did over their computer and was told that when they come in they would contact me by email. Waited several weeks and no email (no word about order). Went to the store and was given attitude (told me not in yet). Waited another week and called several and was hung-up on. Staff thinks they are somebody's, when they are nobody's. Filed complaint with card issue and reversed my charge. I've continued to use freedom armory to introduce new people to shooting with their ranges. The ranges are always neat, well maintained, and with excellent ventilation. The staff is always been nice and occasionally prickly, but I'm sure they have to deal with some very interesting customers. AR/AK patterned rifles and most pistols are fairly evenly priced compared to the market from what I've seen. The pricing structure for memberships and day passes are great. Very well stocked store. Impressive selection of items. But I must say that the prices are a bit high! I'm from Maryland, and the store is in Pennsylvania. So I can't speak for why the prices are inflated compared to online or my area but they will probably have what you want. Very friendly service, attentive customer service. Well lit and clean store. The front desk lady was rude and ignorant because we looked young and were 21. Got her point across that we look like we don't have a rats ass of a clue what we were doing and made it known she knew more about everything than we did.. which is strange because the buddy I was with is in the Amry. The hassle of dealing with this lady wasn't worth the trip of shooting. She did a hell of a job making us not want to go back. My only experience with Freedom Armory has been a phone call. Like many lately, my wife and I are looking to purchase our first handgun. So I called Freedom Armory to "pick their brains" as to the procedure and what to expect. Was VERY satisfied with the information they gave me! Love the range. Most gear they sell is overpriced, hence the 4 stars. Although, I shoot at their handgun range very often and no place around beats it. I have the 'armory' membership, which permits unlimited handgun range use for $300 a year, which pays for itself after going about 20 times. The staff are very friendly and after awhile they recognize you and strike up conversation. An employee also recently helped when I had a case jammed in my weapon pretty badly. I often see parents taking their kids too, which is great to see. The business is also located on a road called Second Amendment Drive, which is badass. Highly recommend. read more

I had a fantastic experience this summer at their introduction to handguns class. I'm new to firearms and was looking for a place to help me learn to safely operate one. Their class was exactly what I was looking for and yea, I pretty much had the worst shot in the class. By the end of class I was hitting my target and felt much more confident when handling a firearm. The class walks you through the history of firearms- then introduces you to the different styles of handguns - then the components of a handgun. Finally you go to the range with the firearm you personally chose to rent from them, or one you brought with you. Our instructor (I believe his name was Dan? Dave?) walked us through loading and shooting, all individually before we got the ok to load and practice alone. It was exactly what I hoped for and the extra perk was a year long membership to the range that was included with the class purchase. Thank you for offering these classes Freedom Armory! read more

Customer service was not great. I walked up to the gun counter and stood there waiting for someone to help me. I ended up having to stop an elderly gentleman behind the counter just to ask about membership. All he did was give me a piece of paper saying "here's what we got" without really explaining any of the different options. I then asked if Correctional Officers are under law enforcement for membership or blue label discounts. And was told no. I'm sorry but if a business does not recognize corrections officers to be part of law enforcement I can't support. I've been a Correctional Officer just shy of 6 years and to be denied my contribution to the system is disrespectful. read more

So I've been a member here for over a year now but I will not be renewing my membership, and here is why: First here is some context, I've been to indoor and outdoor ranges all over the country Including California and NJ, and here is why I feel that is relevant. Freedom armory services a good deal of clients from anti gun Maryland nearby. Pros: Outstanding, knowledgeable, and friendly staff (except for one guy there but i don't know his name). There is a lot of variety in their wares and firearms. The range has good hours and is kept very clean. Cons: Prices. Everything is way higher than normal, and I put this on what seems to be price gouging due to being located by an anti gun state. However, I've lived in and shot in 2 of the most anti gun states in the country and the ranges there don't gouge prices this much. Prices range from slightly over retail to a couple hundred dollars over retail on just about everything in the store, membership, and range time fees. The benches on the rifle range always have some kind of issues, and last time I went two of the target carriers downstairs were no longer working. Before that it was the lights. Before that it was the heating. For what I paid i expect better. read more

Terrible FFL service. Told my purchase wasn't in. Had to confirm with UPS to enforce it. Then had to wait and finally said oh yes we have it. Rude service. Like they don't want to be an FFL dealer. The armory is a great local business owned by a local couple that are just really down to earth community oriented folks. The offering may be a little more than a typical firearm retailer, but their indoor ranges especially the new ones are amazing. You can see why it may cost a little more. I'm willing to pay more for quality and local then dealing with big business. I live in Glen Rock and have purchased 2 handguns from Freedom Armory. It was an ok experience. I have also had multiple experiences where customer service was just non existent. Having it happen once is understandable, but over and over is unacceptable. I even tried to get an order for a Freedom Armory sweatshirt with hood, figuring it would also promote business. The guy took my name and said he would call me when they come in. It has been over a year and Nothing. Great looking store, but I have taken my business elsewhere. From reading other post, I do not think they plan on making any changes or even care. Replying with an excuse, but continuing to treat customers like you don't want them there, shows we are wasting our time going back. read more

Two of my friends who are members took me to this shooting range to show me a part of America that I haven't seen, and which, quite frankly, is very unique. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they are accustomed to busloads of tourists from around the world, so if you are (as I was) expecting to see a bunch of redneck owners, that's not what you'll find. The other customers I saw varied in age and colour (so it's not a southern white thing, just in case you're wondering). They have a range that's 50 yards for long range rifles (we had a 22 caliber rifle and we rented an AK-47) and a shorter range where we used the MP 5 that we borrowed. Both the guns we borrowed were in great condition, worked well, but I didn't pay for anything so I have no idea about the prices. If you're on the tourist circuit and are tired of the monuments, especially if you are from outside America, go here. It's very unique... I certainly don't think there are many places civilians can shoot some of these weapons. Call ahead about memberships, though. Everything was super easy for me because my friends are members but it might be a little more tricky for non-members/ folks not going as guests of members. read more

My family lives pretty close to the Freedom Armory so when we are in the area for a visit, my husband and I will pick up ammo and other shooting supplies. I like to shoot my scoped Ruger 10/22 and my husband mainly shoots his 9mm and .357's; they always have ammo in stock for both calibers and at a decent price. The store has a wide selection of rifles, handguns and accessories along with a friendly and helpful staff to help you find what you need. As a woman, I have had my fair share of poor experience with gun shops and their employees but not at FA. I highly recommend them to anyone in the area. read more

We too expensive we live in the area and i wanted to teach my wife and son to shoot. I called to see how much it cost to rent a lane for a hour and they wanted $60 for a annual membership for the family which i was ok with until i hear the membership buys you NOTHING but the ability to then pay $12.99 per person per 30 mins. $99 for one hour and of course i still needed to buy ammo, targets and probably rent ear protection which i would have been fine with but $99 to rent a lane between 3 people for a hour is insane.... We now driving to Trops in E town where they quoted $50 for the hour for all 3 of us and ill buy my targets and ammo there. read more

My husband and I went here for the second time. We thought we would give this place one more chance. It turned out being worst then the first. My husband bought some ammo and dealt with the chubby old guy, white hair and red face. The customer service skills here are severely lacking. This guy was unfriendly, grumpy and short with responses. Not the attitude that keeps customers coming back. My experience is what drove me to write this. I walked around the store and never once did an employee ever ask me if he could help me find something. The tall bald guy had several opportunities. I did have a question about taking some handgun classes. I ended up speaking to the guy my husband dealt with, about it. When he was done saying about the classes, he mentioned about the ammo my husband left on the counter beside me, that he had already paid for. Again this was the shorter, chubby, red faced, old guy. He said to me (about the ammo on the counter beside me) " I can put that back on the shelf and sell it again". I was shocked that an employee in customer service would have even thought to say such a thing. My response was "I would hope not". This is the first review I have ever wrote but I felt is was important to let others know. Id stay away from this place even if the next place is farther. Just the feeling you get from the people that work there is uninviting. To me the experience with customer service is what makes the store a great place to go. Here's the deal, they charge twice as much for transfers, tack on additional Fees if it is on-line vs face to face. There in store guns are price just below retail, so they are cheaper than big box store like cabellas and Dicks, but still priced more than your typical LGS, in some cases by several hundred dollars. As far as the range goes it is nice but they don't like to run the fans unless you really push for it. It's just as cold on the range as it is outside. I understand it being cold they don't run the heat unless someone is there, but I feel that I might as well be out side at least then I can get fresh air while I shoot. read more

I purchased a gun range membership to escape the cold during the winter months, but what I've come to find out is there isn't much of a difference between the temperature outside and on the range. Do they not have heating for the range? If I knew this to be the case, I would have saved my money and continued shooting outside. read more
