I have been here a handful of times, and every time I leave, I say it will be the last time. My Christmas shopping here was the final straw. I simply wanted to look for myself, but that wasn't good enough for them. Some customers don't want people pestering them every time they look at an item, they simply want to be left alone to make their own choices. That wasn't good enough for these ladies. When I was ready to buy my items, it took, no exaggeration, TWENTY (20) minutes to check out. There was only one other customer who came in after me but they serviced before me. That's fine. But then gossiping and catching up and hugging and elaborately wrapping one package for her took a full 15 minutes. 5 more minutes to ring me up and check me out. Despite my frustration, I kept my cool and checked out. I should have just walked out. My bad. Honestly, these ladies are so far up themselves they can't see how far gone their customer service has slipped. But I will NEVER darken their doorway again and make sure I tell everyone about their rude service and high prices. Their shop stands in sharp contrast to their neighboring boutiques which offer exceptional service that is warm, friendly and fast. Save yourself the humiliation and high prices and go elsewhere to patronize local businesses or shop online. Both options promise a better experience then dealing with these rude has beens.

Back in February…read moreweeks before covid I was in the process of moving and had a carload of high end designer clothing that I took in to consign, Bridgette was estatic seeing all the beautiful pieces she said would sell easily if not in the store she would post on line in her Poshmark store. We counted over 80 pieces of evening gowns ,cashmere coat, designer hats , dresses many high - end pieces . The owner Bridgette was so delighted and not to worry she would send an itemized list of everything I left entrusted to her. WRONG DECISION on my part . Covid started a few weeks after and I let a few months go by hearing she had lost her son and knowing she wasn't open due to covid , I reached out in emails ,numerous phone calls & texts, to no avail. Meanwhile my husband died tragically in late August of same year(my witness who unloaded all the clothes initially). Needless to say I was in seclusion for 6 mons.or so mourning my loss. Several times over the last 3 years I've reached out asking for the itemized list and was told she had gave it to me . She hadn't done so ,she had the list confused with the prior lot I dropped off which did indeed I did relieve that list and got paid a couple of checks. She continually had lied and said she had sent an itemized list of the most recent drop off. She has conti ued to shine me on and when I went in earlier this week she said she had nothing and didn't owe me anything!!! I AM LIVID TO SAY THE LEAST !!! She has outright stolen over roughly $5000 worth of my belongings!!! She is a dishonest store owner. I consign at various stores in Marin and still have wonderful repore with all 6 consignment stores I work with here in Marin EXCEPT FOR SUGAR NEVER, NEVER have I run into such dishonest thievery from a business owner. Besides the fact she REEKED of ALCOHOL & had so much pastey makeup on . Forgetful, unprofessional and dishonest business owner . I see I am not the only upset customer that she has ripped off !!! She steals from people like you and I in order to profit from her unsuccessful business. She'll STEAL from you too. Beware, forewarned.

I've been trying not to spend money on clothes - since my closet literally is overflowing with a wealth of garments that I have yet to wear, but I couldn't help but do some browsing here. As far as clothing - Gala has a hip, nice selection of things. They carry an abundance of Free People clothes, designer jeans, beautiful jewelry and a vast selection of soft cotton shirts, dresses and more.I found alot of the clothes to be fairly muted in color - alot of beiges, blacks, whites, and blues; nice, casual, chic, and wearable - but nothing really popped. That being said - everything felt amazing and high quality to the touch and if I had the space in my closet, and the money in my wallet - I would love to rock any and all of the clothes in Gala. The fourth star is for the friendly woman, working here. She was patient when I was walking around the store, and was more than willing to help - when I had questions about the best place to wait for a cab in the rain. If you're in Larkspur - stop by Gala - if even just to window browse. Their stuff is on the pricier end of things, but it sounds like they rotate their clothes fairly often, and if you're looking for stylish practical wear - they carry a great selection of comfortable and flattering outfits.

Stonestown and downtown SF used to be my primary stores. Now it's Corte Madera. This store is so well stocked, I almost never hear "I can order it online". I actually found him after speaking with a different boudoir photography company whose ad I had seen on Instagram; I decided to do some research before committing to anyone, and found Cheshire on Yelp, checked out his website, and put in an inquiry. He called me very quickly and the conversation was so different from the other places I spoke with! Instead of just laying out "here's how it works, here's what you get for this price," etc., he asked a lot about what I was looking for, what I hoped to get out of it, my motivations or inspirations, etc. That personal touch carried throughout the experience. He consistently made an effort to understand what I was looking for--from the planning process to the photo shoot to going through the photos afterward--to make sure that I got exactly what I was hoping for. The photos themselves are absolutely awesome. It's incredible the different looks and feels he creates in a relatively small studio. More importantly, he just has an incredible eye for what is going to look good and how to create looks, moods, etc. I felt super comfortable the whole time, and I think that shows in the final product. Everyone who has seen my pictures has been blown away. He's way more than just a photographer; he's a true artist.
