I wandered toward the back of the store and did find a very good deal on a blouse. Same young woman rang me up with no enthusiasm, thank you, or comment when I exclaimed what a good deal I was getting. She was really pretty but also aloof as if she couldn't be bothered. No small talk or appreciation at all for my business. Huge difference from Anthropologie when I shopped later. I dunno - bad day? Or maybe she shouldn't be working in retail.

I walked in explained I did not have my receipt but I should be in the system as I was part of the rewards program. The first assistant could not be bothered what so ever . She half heartedly attempted to enter my email in her system but was unable to find me in her system. She was very rude and basically said she was unable to help me without my receipt . The second assistant was very helpful and willing to help me and work with me and she was able to locate me in the system. She said it would be totally fine for me to exchange the faulty jeans for a new pair in store. After finding a pair that were comfortable she came back to the fitting room and said I could no longer exchange the faulty jeans. They could patch them up for me ! A multi million dollar company is offering a patch up service on faulty jeans. This was the decision from the store manager at this branch who was sadly like a robot. No customer support and just a very lame Attitude to me as the customer. This store is possibly the worst experience I have ever come across in my entire life. To be saying one thing to a customer then only to retract the decision was highly unprofessional and totally sub standard. Madewell in Corte Madera turned out to be a shopping nightmare.

Both Amin and Hayden showed craftsmanship in their hospitality, and how not only took care of us and the other customers perusing and browsing around. After describing what I preferred for style, and the minimalism of outfits, they provided suggestions which show their evident passion for what they're there for, and their keen eyes for style - which made me feel confident in my personal choices. We were there primarily to browse, and to see what they had for the season, in addition, to checking out their clearance/sales from the past seasons. In a world where shopping can sometimes feel like a rushed and impersonal chore, Amin & Hayden made us feel seen, valued, and understood. I don't really visit countless boutique stores in my lifetime, but never have I felt so comfortable and so well-attended to - in this kind of upscale setting! Hayden helped get all my measurements, and talked me through the whole process of finding my fit (I was on the heft-ier side, though I much prefer the athletic slim fit on my upper body) - in addition to showing me new colors and styles authentically. I never felt that he was pushing a sale on me, as this young man is plain passionate about his job! I ended up trying on an oversized flannel to add to my outerwear collection, and I appreciate their assistance while I was trying it on, as well as providing a smooth transaction with my purchase - and got my order shipped to my house, and voila! When I walked in, the one staff member was helping someone. No problem, I needed to peruse through the clothing anyway. After that customer went into the dressing room, I gave the worker a few mins to come over...but she didn't. So, I walked up to her and said, "hi, may I ask you some questions?" She actually looked me up and down and said, "what?" I asked her my question, to which she certainly had limited knowledge of the answer for. I also asked her what style the mannequin's pants were and she didn't know. Okkkkkaaay. You don't wanna look? Cool! I ended up leaving, which was exceptionally disappointing, because I had built my whole trip up north around, stopping at the store. I was really looking forward to buying my guy some new clothes, but it wasn't in the cards. Not being greeted when walking into a store is one thing, but being just short of eye-rolled is another.
