Horrendous customer service. I placed an order for in-person pickup and was informed by the website that most orders are available for pickup same-day. It's quite a long drive for me (over an hour at the least) to get to the store and I need to plan around my work and appointment schedule for errands, so I called the store the next day to ask if the same-day claim applies to my item (namely, is it currently in stock there or if it would take them time to order it), so I can plan my drive. Bear in mind this is a 3+ hour trip for me without traffic, so I can't just do this at the drop of a hat and need to plan well in advance. The woman's answer? Rudely, "I dunno, I have other stuff to do." I told her I'm not asking for an immediate pickup alert, I'm trying to understand if the store has the item in stock or if it needs to be shipped. Still rude, and she says, "We have no way of knowing." Everything is online (and mobile!) and sorted by SKU these days, and associates can check stock on their phones in real time, so I have absolutely no idea why this woman was refusing me service. I most likely will not be purchasing anything from Cuyana after this interaction. It's the worst, rudest and disingenous customer service interaction I've had in quite awhile. And honestly, with a bunch of other shops nearby with similar items, customer service is really what sets physical stores apart. Big thumbs down. read more

Came in with my wife who was doing some "new job" leather-goods shopping. We'd looked at the website beforehand and thought we knew exactly what we were going to buy. But as it turned out, the colors on the site were not exactly accurate so we had to reevaluate. The associate who helped us was well-trained and did a great job understanding my wife's priorities. The merchandise is gorgeous and the quality of the leather was beyond what we were expecting. Even though the store was pretty crowded, the way they have things laid out led to great flow. We didn't feel crowded or rushed. Once we found the right bag, insert and folio, we were out at the counter where they delighted us by offering a first-time customer discount and free monogramming. They told us the monogramming would take an hour so we went next door to Dumpling Story (we should have gotten on the waitlist before but it all worked out) and they called us in about 35 minutes to let us know it was done. When I tell you that from the first time I walked in. I feel less anxious when the reps walked up with smile and said " Hello there! May I help you with anything in particular?" A simple smile and greeting can go a long ,long way to make me their regular client. I was shopping for a friend and my client recommended me to come here. I asked about their purses and what is the most popular items and do they gift wrapped? They do all that with good knowledge of their products. The place is well lit with a lot of lights in the back and natural lights in the front. Items are visible with drawers opened to view their products. There are clotheslines to the left sides of the stores where it's less intimidating to reach for. The changing rooms are towards the back where the soft lights is placed to compliment your skin tones(Scotch and Soda,you may need to take note on this) I purchased a purse for my friend after a quick low down on their products. They gift wrapped it in a box and send me on my way happy. Not long after I went in for my own bag for traveling. I got myself a material duffel over night bag. The dark brown bag suited me very well and I was more than happy with it. Took it with me twice and since it got dirty on my last trip. I remember that they recommended it can be washed. Today I went in to find my sister a gift. What do you buy a woman who have pretty much everything? I was offered a big smile with warm greeting and that my friends is the main reason why I will continue to go to them. To buy things that is needed for my friends,family and clients. They never once judge me on my clothing and how I probably smell like a wet dog. I trained dogs so kind of hard to avoid smelling like one. If you need something that is well worth giving as a gift. I had an amazing experience at Cuyana. I was looking for a new purse and had a lot of vague requirements, one of those "I'll know it when I see it" kinds of things. I walked in and immediately felt welcome; not like those other high-end stores where I feel like I'm being judged by the staff and found wanting. Paul helped me understand the options and figure out what I thought would work best for me. Other customers were friendly, talking about what they were looking for and exchanging opinions. The System tote is what Cuyana is known for and I have to say it's an awesome bag -- high quality materials and construction, and the whole modular thing is just brilliant. They also have other great leather accessories, which I expect to be investing in sooner rather than later. Coupled with a fantastic customer experience, I would give this place six stars if I could. read more
