My dishwasher (still under warranty) wasn't draining water so it kept coding. The first service technician said it needed a new water pump and ordered one. The second technician said the water pump was fine but the dishwasher needed a new control panel so he ordered one. He returned weeks later and installed the new control panel. After he left I ran the dishwasher and it coded again. At this point I have been without a dishwasher for almost two months. I called the service department and explained that at this point I wanted a new washer. I was done waiting for parts and service that weren't fixing the problem. I was told they'd have to continue attempting to repair my appliance. I was extremely unhappy with that and wanted to speak with someone who could authorize a replacement washer. I was told the manager would contact me first thing the next morning. That was four days ago. I'm done with Fred's. read more

This was my second purchase from this same store , I bought a new full sized refrigerator years and found out it needed a new compressor - a week later it came in an was installed the next day - it has has run great ever since - so I bought a new 14 foot mini refrigerator - I picked it up an plugged it in - not one issue- it works great - I read so many reviews of you criticizing this company for faulty products but not one word about the product manufacturer- you know the one who built your nightmare appliance that ( you ) bought - Fred's Appliance is a really good company ! read more

Follow up #3 from Kim W. - Spokane Washington The oven went out again after less than a month from repair along with the stove top this time. I haven't even had this oven for a year. One thing I noticed upon repair is they used a refurbished part, why not a new one ? (I could tell it wasn't new from the packaging) Although the people are kind and helpful there are not enough workers to do the job in a timely manner. Their products are not of good quality even thou the item may not say dint and dent on the ticket, there is definitely something wrong with them. Repair time is 6 weeks minimum. My first repair took 3 months. I would not buy from Fred's Appliance read more

We have been buying appliances from Fred's for over ten years now. Last Jan (2024) we replaced our fridge. In Dec 2024, the thermostat stopped being accurate. It still said 35 as we have always had it set in the readout but the milk was warm and an independent thermometer read 45 (sometimes over 50). So we called the service department and they sent someone out 3 weeks later, who said it was "fine". The guy used his device saying it's accurate if it's not touching anything--discovered it was touching a water bottle, and then DIDNT RETEST. We had to reopen the ticket because the fridge was still sitting at 50 degrees. They sent someone out again who replaced the thermostat, which didn't fix it. We have had people out 3 times since, and they just keep telling us to call Samsung , who tells us we haven't had enough visits (because they keep looking at the falsely closed first ticket and not the second, then go oh I see you have two tickets). It's beyond absurd that they accept that it's not supposed to be at 45 degrees when it's set to 35 (nor the freezer always set to 0 is anywhere between -16 and +20 degrees) but say 45 is within operating temperature (but only if you set it that way) and so it's fine -- sure if we had it set at 45, which is 5 degrees above food-safe storage temperature as per the fda). So they've been dragging their feet and taking 5 months (our next appointment to change out the fans I think is in May), when it was clearly a lemon that needs to be replaced. It was under warranty and only 11 months old when this started. They even said a fridge should last 5-10 years before needing to be replaced. Yet they do not stand behind the products they sell nor care that we have spent thousands of dollars as customers. read more

store manager at Spokane Valley is a fucking asshole. Fred's and other repair companies performed a dozen or more repairs and two replacements on a dryer I purchased there, none of which worked. Still in warranty and he blames me for having to eat the cost of the machines. He must not understand what a manufacturer's warranty is. He obviously doesn't give one shit about his customers or making right on a brand new appliance install that's needed that much attention. Wake up Fred's. A bad appliance or service that could be fixed is acceptable. Your manager's behavior is not! read more

I'm writing this review for my elderly mother, so the installer messed up, and water leaked in the wall and flooded the basement. The old refrig. had an icemaker and needed to be capped off, so the water to the new refrigerator without an icemaker won't leak, and they didn't do this. This is basic info an installer should have known. The other property, she purchased a refrig. and it was damaged, Fred's didn't return with another one for a few months. In the meantime used the broken/old one Fred's put in the garage. Mrs. Barbara McGann - (my mom in Spokane) read more

There is a reason for all of these bad reviews. I wish I would have seen them before I purchased my washer and dryer. Unfortunately I didn't. The delivery team dropped, yes dropped my washing machine. I didn't realize it at the time, but a part broke off. Fast forward a day later and I contact them because my washing machine doesn't seem to be spinning properly. It takes awhile to get someone out to take a look at the washer. He said that a part has broken off and he will order a replacement and install it when it comes in. Three weeks later he wants to install the new part. They are also going to switch the places of the washer and dryer because the were set up wrong. When they move out the washer there is water underneath the machine. At this point I ask for a new washer because I am concerned about what other damage there is to this washer that was dropped. Their answer to me is no. The reason being because it has been sitting in my house for two months. Well it has been sitting in my house waiting for them to get a part. Oh, and I should not have kept it after they dropped it. My bad. Apparently I should have refused to keep it and sent it back to a company that they hired to make the delivery. Terrible customer service and I feel taken advantage of. I don't want to give one star. read more

We had a custom home built for us last year. We dealt with Steve who was great! We bought all of our appliances through Fred's. It now all began in the aftersales part of our bad experience with Fred's. Our appliances were delivered about a month prior to our move in date. The delivery guys were flat out lazy. They were very reluctant on bringing our large built in fridge inside the house. Where else would the fridge go?? While inspecting the newly delivered fridge we noticed a good sized dent in the top of one of the doors. It was very noticeable as the fridge is stainless steel. We had notified Fred's of the issue and we were told a new fridge panel was on order. We had also noticed our range vent stack had several scratches in it. Several months later a service tech showed up to replace the scratched vent stack. He was a very nice guy, but was clearly not prepared to complete the job. He asked me, the homeowner, if I had a ladder he could borrow to complete the job. I provided him a ladder to finish the job. He was not able to get everything straight with the vent when he completed the job. I had to point out to him to fix it before leaving. He lacked confidence in this repair. Several months later and several phone calls to Fred's the "panel" for our fridge shows up. The same tech from the prior repair shows up with the part. He opens up the box and with a very confused look says this isn't the right part. He asks us if he can store this part in our garage as we will need it when the right part shows up. A month later I had to call again and ask where the part was and was told that it had just come in and to schedule an appointment. This time I was not home and it was just my wife here. This trip (the second for the fridge) two techs show up. One of them being the same guy who has been here before. He shows up again with the incorrect part. He then takes the previous part he left here back. Apparently this part was not needed. I call a week or so later and talk to a "manager" and make sure the correct part was ordered. She stated its the manufacture (Miele) who has sent the incorrect part now 2 times. She said I could call the manufacture and verify with them that the correct part was ordered this time. Would it not be Fred's responsibility to ensure the correct part was ordered?? I requested when the part comes in to make sure the correct part was ordered prior to making another appointment. Again, this is the stainless steel outside skin of the door of the fridge. Not that difficult of something to order and to verify that its the correct part. The same tech who has been here then shows up for the final time (3rd trip for this repair). The tech appeared just as unconfident as before and this job appears to be way over his head. He had to be told the two doors were not flush where they met together after he put the door on. Oh, he also asked again to borrow a step stool to even perform this job. Again, he didn't even have a ladder to use on this job just like the prior hood vent job. After he left the two upper fridge doors were still not flush and the gaps between the doors were not even. The frustrating process in dealing with all of the service visits will lead me to finishing the job on my own. Just like most companies these days, most our great with the sales portion of the experience and then when it comes to the service and aftersales they suck. You would think spending thousands of dollars with a company there would be at least decent service. So after all of this I would not recommend any service to be completed by Fred's read more

We needed a new fridge fast! Chase Braun helped us and he was truly amazing. The refrigerator we wanted was sold out at the warehouse and one wasn't available for two days. However, Chase made multiple phone calls to secure us the fridge we wanted by asking a contractor if he could wait for the next shipment and let us take his fridge. He agreed and we were able to get the fridge and save the contents of our dead one. He is our hero. He went above and beyond and we are truly grateful. read more

4th visit to the house and they STILL don't have the oven working. The repair guy said he'd personally take care of the ordering of the correct parts and come back. Beware of fraudulent practices and hidden costs. Receipt said that we prepaid for appliances, install and delivery. When are stove was installed we were charged another $367. The sales person never mentioned the additional cost and the receipt looked like we prepaid for appliances and install. Sales person didn't let us know about additional costs because I suspect he was hoping to make a sale. Also, sales person didn't ask about our configuration for washer and dryer so that the doors would open correctly and there would be the right length of electrical chord. 3 more visits until all the problems were solved. When I called the manager to let him know how misleading his sales receipt and sales people were, he did nothing to remedy the situation. I would not recommend this appliance store. Poor customer service and misleading practices. read more

The Genera Electric Refrigerator we purchased in October of 2021 is broken down again, We first had to have Fred's come out 3 times to adjust the doors so they would close correctly. They said it was a poorly designed refrigerator. Now the entire refrigerator has quit working. It started with the freezer going out, then the top part has quit working too. It's up to 60 degrees. We ordered parts 2 weeks ago and they are still not in. In the mean time, we have been using dry ice (very expensive) to cool it. We have been a loyal purchaser of many appliances over the last 40 years but will do everything possible not to do business with Fred's Appliance store in Spokane, WA again. read more

Please dear God stay away from Fred's. I wish I could give zero or negative stars. My initial interaction was great, and my wife and I bought a washer and dryer. 2-3 years later, the washer dies and we call in for warranty work since we bought the 500 dollar warranty. It took a month or so of no washer before a tech came out and install the board that failed. We were told the reason it is taking so long is they do not have enough service techs available to get us in faster and they constantly overbook their techs. When the tech installed the part, everything seemed fine but after some use it was found that the tech programmed the board incorrectly and he would have to order a new one. The washer works, ish.... About 2 months later (currently), they have the part and want us to wait another 17 days to get the board replaced again. This is again overbooking the techs if not we have to wait over a month. I have now griped enough that I'm waiting for contact from a manager. I wish I could help these employees more and make a difference but with how I am seeing them treat their employees I doubt any change will actually happen. read more

Had a refrigerator with a freezer section icing up so refer would turn warm. Called Fred's and had service appointment for October 4. Was called on the 2nd asking if they could come that day. Two techs arrived and they investigated and said that two parts needed to be replaced. They collected the $130 for showing up and said I would be contacted with an estimate for repair. After not hearing from them, I called the service department to inquire on October 10th. They found the order and said two parts were listed but would need to talk to their tech. Was called back and told the two parts would be approximately $230 and would I like to have them ordered. Since this is an older refer, I said I would like to know the labor cost before authorizing repairs and was told they would need to get back to me. On October 23rd, still have not heard from them. They were very upfront about the $130 charge for showing up. A scam? read more

DO NOT buy from them!! Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with!! Bought a high-end appliance from them. It quit working after 2 months. It's been a total of 4 months now that I have been waiting for it to get fixed (still not fixed and have not heard from them). They have the mentality that you, as the customer, have to continuously contact them and find out what is going on. Seems like management does not have a clue (disgusting!). They are always "deciding" what to do (this is laughable). Make it right with customers and try to avoid bad reviews!!!! I am not sure how they are still in business. I suppose if people were to read reviews FIRST, before purchasing anything from them, they would NOT be in business anymore. read more

What an awful experience and have never been treated so rudely. We will never be back.

READ BEFORE PURCHASING!!!! Let me share with you my current experience with Fred's Appliance. 44 days ago i woke up and went to our fridge to get breakfast going for my wife as she took care of our two month old baby. I realized that all our food was warm and the freezer had thawed and we lost all our food and breast milk that my wife had worked so hard to stock up. I realize that the fridge failing is not Fred's fault, but the experience we have had since has been absolutely horrible! They got a tech out to look at the fridge within a few days and said that it needed a new compressor and it was a few weeks out. The compressor came in and a different tech came out to install the compressor and they had got the wrong compressor but made it fit which seemed wrong. After the install of the new compressor the fridge still wasn't working and the tech said it needed a new evaporator. So we waited another few weeks for the evaporator to show up. Today once again a different tech showed up to install the evaporator and after more work on the fridge they said the fridge is not fixable and that they would have to order a new one under warranty. So after 44 days without a fridge with a frustrated Mother and baby at home we still do not have a fridge and are waiting for a new one. I know this review will fall on deaf ears from Fred's as has all our phone calls pleading with them to do something for my family. My wife and I are building a home in the spring and had gone to Fred's to pick out our appliances for our new home prior to all this happening. We planned on purchasing $26,000 worth of appliances, but after this experience I will never work with them again. Their management teams is awful and their tech's are nice but uneducated service techs. I just wanted to share our experience for those that are looking at purchasing appliances. read more

I bought a new washing machine on a Friday. It was delivered on Tuesday . Delivery fee was $120. It didn't work. I called Fred's, was told to contact repair service. They got a tech to come at 8:30 the next morning. A bad water inlet valve. I made a call to Fred's Appliance wed morning, was told waiting on the manager to decide what to do. I called again in the afternoon, was told the same thing. I went to the shop Thurs morning. After about an hr, I got approval to have the washing machine replaced. I had to bring the broken washer to the shop, then install the new one. A service I paid $120 for. I did get a working machine a week after I paid for it. If We ever need any more appliances, we will NEVER use Fred's Appliance again. read more

We bought a Bosch Dishwasher with five year extended warranty at Fred's in Kennewick October 25, 2019. Worked for about nine months. First request for repair service was in August 2020. Fast forward to today, May 12, 2021. I've lost track of the times the repair tech has been to our house...eight times, I believe. He's practically rebuilt the dishwasher but still, it does not work. I've spent hours waiting on hold and talking to the service department. I've spent days and weeks waiting for promised phone calls, scheduling another repair visit, waiting for scheduled day to arrive. And ten months later, I am still hand washing dishes. After reading other reviews for Fred's Appliance on Yelp, I see that I'm fighting a lost cause. I'm done with Fred's. Going elsewhere to replace a practically brand new, expensive dishwasher. read more

AVOID! Just purchased an LG Refrigerator from Josh in March. Fridge was not delivered until April 9th as Josh was on vacation for two weeks. Immediately upon install the fridge was not working and installers told us that we have to work with our sale person Josh to have a tech come out and fix it. Spoke to Josh on 4/9 to schedule the repair. 4/11 Repair tech came out and tried to fix the fridge. Told us that he had to order an new Control Board and a new Air Filter cover (which was broken during install) for the BRAND NEW fridge but it will take at least two weeks for this new board to come in. Tech also told us to call Josh and discuss this with him as we purchased the Fred's Appliance additional warranty which Josh said if the fridge didn't work would be replaced. Spoke to Josh on 4/11 only to be told that we would have to wait for the control board to come in and then they would schedule another repair Tech to come out and fix the control board and Air Filter cover. So now we have a brand new fridge that does not work and cannot be repaired for weeks. Paid full price for basically something that is now refurbished if they can even get it fixed. read more

The sales people seem nice. I planned to buy an expensive range from them and I am grateful I needed service on something else before we purchased the range because this is the worst customer service I may have ever had. We were told it would take a month before anyone could come out and we got on the schedule and got a call the day they were supposed to come and were told that they would be there in the afternoon. Never showed. We have called now 3 times and now I am told we are scheduled for tomorrow - no one ever called to ask us if we would even be home. We won't be. So now they say end of OCTOBER before they can come out!!! It is September 30th today! Unacceptable. I would not recommend them to anyone. Ever. Shop somewhere else. read more

Look elsewhere!!!! What a nightmare dealing with Fred's. I called to request a service call for our double oven on Jan. 24, 2023. We had this same failure a few years ago and I told the scheduler which part was needed. An appointment was made for February 10th. On that morning they called and said that they didn't have anyone available to come due to illness or whatever. They then set the next appointment for February 23rd. On the morning of Feb 23rd they called and said they wouldn't be able to come again. The next appointment was set for March 6th and the same thing happened that morning. Finally on March 17th 2 repairmen show up without the part that they were supposed to bring. Being a glutton for punishment I agreed they could order the part and get the oven repaired as long as it would be be prior to Easter when my wife would need both ovens. On March 29th the scheduler called and said that the part was in and the next available slot was April 24th. I explained that I was assured that it would be installed prior to Easter which is April 9th this year and was told that would not be possible. At that point I'd enough and walked away from the fiasco that I should have ended much earlier. To top things off they quoted $200 more for the part than other suppliers and wanted $250/hr for labor. To recap: 3 no shows that wasted my time and then on the 4th they show up without the part. All this over a 2 month time frame. It appears that when they miss an appointment that your next opportunity will be pushed out to the end of the waiting list. Stay away!!! read more

Bought a washer and dryer from these crooks. The warehouse druggies damaged both of them badly when loading them and when we complained the peddlers in the store said, "Well you should have checked them before you left!" Why? They were fully boxed and damaged and unboxing them then tossing the garbage in their loading area seemed a bit low brow. They offered a 10% credit and sent a check for a random $70 dollars which was more like 6% of one appliance. The sales clowns then got rude on the phone and said, "If you don't like it bring them back." We agreed and returned them. Then we had to file a dispute with the CC company to get the money returned. While they might sell a few decent appliances, they are a bit crooked and extremely dishonest to deal with. Do you need a stove this badly? I highly recommend you find another store or just go to Home Depot or Lowe's, these guys stink. Oh, yeah. I'm a twenty year customer this was the 4th set of washer/dryer and we have had a full kitchen from them. The decline in customer service since 2019 is stunning. It honestly makes you look forward to no sales people and automated check out. I will never set foot in the store again, period. read more

Buyer beware - Do not buy from Fred's Appliances. They do not deliver appliances and don't care about their customers after sale is done. I went to Fred's because I wanted my dryer vented to the left. The sales person typed it in my paperwork but did not charge me for the side vent kit. When the delivery people came, dryer was not correct so I was on the phone with Fred's and they were on phone with warehouse. They moved washer into laundry room and had to reload dryer into truck and take back to warehouse which one of the guys was not happy about. I was still upstairs finishing call when they were done. I signed for delivery of washer and that they were taking dryer. They had me sign again. When I asked what it was they said an acknowledgement that they didn't use hand truck inside house. It was actually a waiver to damages. They ripped up my new vinyl floor! They didn't say anything to me and had me sign a waiver. My fault for not reading what I signed or checking floor for damages. Fred's won't do anything because the delivery people are not their employees even thought they hired them. They do not deliver their appliances which I was not told. I expected more since Fred's sells appliances only appliances. I might as well as gone ro Lowes, Home Depot or Best Buy. read more

My dishwasher was under warranty and I called for a repair. They could not send someone for three weeks. The repairman finally came and said it was a loose sensor. The sensor stopped working again within two loads. I called and it is another three weeks before they can send someone out to "diagnose" the problem. Wait times on the phone and for the repair are inexcusably long. It seems to me if you push a warranty on customers during the purchase process you should be able to honor it. I did go to the store since I could not get anyone on the phone. There were 5 salesMEN standing there, no customers and yet they were incapable of helping the understaffed maintenance department. The repairperson came again and said it was eggshells in my drain line. I insisted he order a new sensor and of course the sensor stopped working after two loads. I am three months out without a dishwasher that has a faulty sensor and the repairman still insists he is only ordering a new sensor because I insisted. Let's see if I ever get my dishwasher fixed. read more

On December 20, 2023 I called because the refrigerator door was not closing. They sent a repair person out to look at it on the 29th. He said they needed to order a part, and if I didn't hear anything from them in a week to call. I called today, January 10, 2024 and was told the part is expected to come in on the 18th. At that time someone would call to set up a time to make the repairs. We're talking almost a month without a working fridge. There doesn't seem to be any sense of urgency on their part. I always thought it best to shop local, but wonder if a big chain like Home Depot or Lowe's would be able to get things repaired in a timely manner. read more

I will never buy from Fred's again. Post-sales communication re delivery and installation is poor to nil. I had to give numerous calls to sales person from Fred's, delivery people from Fred's and installers from J&J to learn what the procedure was for delivery, removal of previous fridge and installation. I would get one story from the sales people and another from delivery and installation. Sales would tell me what delivery would do and delivery said, and I quote 'Sales people will promise anything. But we don't do that. We're another department.' Sales would tell me what the installers would do and I would call the installers and they would tell me that was incorrect. So I would go back to sales and try again. This all could have been solved by a page from Fred's when we bought the (very expensive SubZero) fridge explaining the procedure so that everyone was on the same page. When I suggested this to the sales manager, he placated me and seemed uninterested in resolving the issue. I have also had service from Fred's. Usually there would need to be a part ordered. Sometimes it would get ordered, sometimes not. But even if it was ordered, I never received a call that it had arrived, which meant I needed to call weekly to find out. And they won't schedule the Followup appointment until the part comes in. And if the part came in and I hadn't called in time, they returned the part to the supplier. The weekly call was necessary in any case to learn whether they had, in fact, ordered the part. This is a problem with coordination and communication and responsibility which must come from the top as no one further on down seems to care. Avoid them if at all possible. read more

Every time I go in this store, I'm very disappointed. I went today to ask for a part on a oven they sold me... they seemed to care less. I actually was there to buy a washer and dryer. The manager that never stood up, whispered to the sales guy... don't help her. I appear to be a blonde that doesn't have the money to buy appliances? Well... I again picked Home Depot to buy said washer and dryer. They missed out on a $2000 sales commission. I will never try this small business again. I agree with the reviews about terrible service. Unfortunately, I did not read them until I paid over $2000 for a new washer and dryer. Within a few uses, the washer began leaking out the bottom and flooding the laundry room. We have purchased numerous appliances over the years through them and have had really great service until this last time in December. Our Bosch dishwasher stopped working and showed an error code. I called and scheduled a warranty repair service call. It was scheduled for a couple weeks and the person who scheduled it, went and checked to make sure that it was a date the repair technician will be in our area. A couple hours later they called and now we have to wait over 40 days before someone can be out to look at the dishwasher. We bought an $11,000 Jen Air fridge from them. 3 parts was broken. 5 months went by and no parts. We called once a week, but they always told us it was backordered. We finally called Jen Air directly and they said Freds never did a nationwide search as they should have done. The main part was located and shipped to Freds. Called Freds immediately and they said they never received it!! Call Jen Air back and it took them several hours to get Freds to realize they actually HAD received it. Then we called again to schedule an install and they told us that unfortunately they could not come out for another month. We talked to a manager and told him this was unacceptable. They realized that they actually COULD do it faster. It was supposed to be today. Unfortunately, in the meantime they lost on of the other parts they had received. We ordered a fridge in January to have delivered in April when the kitchen was ready for it. They delivered and the door of the fridge caused a problem and made it stop working. After they finally sent a tech out, they unhooked electrical part of the door so it at least chilled while they ordered a part. Many weeks later the part was in so a tech was scheduled for another couple weeks out. Guess what, didn't work. Now they want us to wait for a whole door to be ordered in another 5-8 weeks. We have had a partially functioning fridge for months now and we just want a replacement fridge but they refuse to accept any responsibility and put it all on GE. The salesman was extremely rude on the phone. Don't buy here if you want any service or help or a functioning product in a reasonable time frame. This was the worst consumer experience I have ever had! Nothing the salesman promised happened, the delivery service, J&J, was completely incompetent! They gouged my kitchen door frame taking the old fridge out, which they argued with us they couldn't do. The didn't use a skid pad, despite the salesman assurance they would, and now my newly refinished wood floors have indents and a gouge.
