I guess I wanted to be tortured!! 2 year old GE (commercial quality)washing machine where the plastic lid lock latch broke - it's now been a month and a half and can't get the tech to install. Horrible customer service center out of Washington (huge conglomerate) to dispatch someone who had a three hundred mile service area. You'd be lucky to get anything fixed within 2 months. Fred's Appliance went above and beyond to help me quickly replace an old squeaking refrigerator in the home of a person suffering long covid who is exquisitely sensitive to noise. First, Mike helped me pick out a fridge that met our needs within five minutes of walking into the store (avoiding an annoying online search). Second, the fridge was $50 less than the big box stores and could be delivered in 48 hours rather than the 8-14 days of the other stores. And finally, the delivery guys respected my request to have the removal and replacement done exceedingly quietly, so as not to set back the recovery of the person sensitive to noise. Not good at all. How do I leave less than a 1-star review? We bought a washer and dryer from them a month ago. The washer does not work. It's awful. Instead of taking back the bad appliance they sold us, they keep blaming it on the manufacturer and sending us to them to figure out. That is not our job. It is their job to stand by the products they sell and they are not willing to work with us. I will never ever buy another appliance from Fred's nor will I recommend them to my clients like I usually do and I remodel kitchens for a living. My family has bought several appliances from Fred's because we like to shop local. In doing so we have always paid full retail price. Our last purchase was a new vent hood, that we paid over $2000 for. Unfortunately, we found out it was damaged during installation. We immediately took photos and reported it to our salesperson at Fred's. The manager at Fred's has offered a 10% refund for the damaged hood, which is $400 less than the needed replacement parts, not including installation. Our other option is to replace the hood, installation costs at our expense, which is $700+. Either way, we paid full price for a damaged hood and expect to spend more money to repair it. We deeply regret not ordering from a dealer that has good customer service and stands behind the products they sell. read more

Don't buy from Fred's Appliance. We bought over $10,000 worth of appliances from Fred's 2 years ago when we remodeled our house with their extended warranty. A week ago our refrigerator started making a noise and stopped cooling. I called the repair number and was directed to their call center in Spokane. I was told it would be a week until they could send someone to us because we are in a rural area. I also told them I was 90% sure that the compressor had gone out. Sure enough, the repairman showed up today without parts, diagnosed it as a faulty compressor, and told me it would be another 10 days for parts to come in and then they would have to schedule me the next time they were in the area. I'm guessing its going to be 3 weeks from when I initially called until the refrigerator is repaired. We'll be living out of our cooler until then. Do better. read more

DO NOT USE FREDS APPLIANCE if you are expecting good customer service. I bought all my appliance from Fred's and referred several friends and family to them as well~that was before i experienced their customer service. I had problems with my washer dryer from the start. I had two service calls while it was under warranty. The tech said it was running just fine. However, it never filled properly or washed laundry well. Finally, I got sick of dirty clothes so I called them again and Melissa was nice enough to send a tech out again. She never went over cost, she told me she would take care of it, so i mistakenly took that to mean they would take care of the repair as i had two other service calls and the techs did not fix the problem. Nick arrived and promptly found the problem (really nice guy and very knowledgeable). HOWEVER, surprise, surprise, now that it was out of warranty, they find the problem and want to charge me $400+ to fix it. From day one it didn't work. I called and told them I wanted to return it and was informed that "we don't take returns without a 25% restock fee. They offered to transfer me to the service department to leave a message and said they would reach out to me in 3-5 days to get put on the schedule and then another 3-10 days from there. I had scheduled service for my refrigerator (not purchased at Fred's) about a month and a half ago. The technician had to cancel due to illness the first time so they rescheduled for Feb 8, 2023. I called Fred's to confirm the time the technician would arrive. THEY HAD NO RECORD OF MY REFRIGERATOR BEING SCHEDULED. So, I called another repair service and scheduled a technician to come out and evaluate the job. They charged me in advance for the visit. At the end of that call the FRED'S APPLIANCE technician called and said he had the parts and was coming out!! Does the right hand not know what the left hand is doing? The Fred's appliance technician was extremely understanding and apologized for any inconvenience. Beware!! read more

Worst experience buying an appliance in my life. I have had better experiences buying garbage in the alley of the ghetto. JEFF HARRINGTON was rude and has the worst customer service approach. Scott McCauley tried to be kind but was bound by company policies and bad company. After three tries with different brand new freezers (damaged) I had to cut my losses and demand my $ back. Selling damaged freezers can be deadly and dangerous with freon leaks, etc. Just read the side of the freezer. I'm overall an easy going guy but this experience tried me extremely. Better luck next time Fred's. I'd say you need more service the customer training in my opinion. read more

Ordered two very expensive, high end appliances from Fred's in Bozeman. The delivery was a total shit show. The clown who was in charge had seven people show up to help get the appliances into the house. They were ready willing and able but he was not. We had built a ramp to bring the appliances in, but in his infinite wisdom it was not safe. He wanted to take a different route and wanted me to sign a waiver if they damaged my custom door, which I refused. I had them drop the appliances in my garage. Within 15 minutes of them leaving my three carpenters had the appliances safely in the kitchen. I called the store and asked to speak to the manager, Sarah, who was too busy to talk to me so I asked for a return call which I never received. She must have been too busy filing her nails to talk to a customer who spent over $30,000 on appliances at the store. The salesman, Scott, was good but powerless to offer any relief. Five thumbs down to Fred's. This is the first time I have ever posted a review of any business. read more

While delivering my new washer/dryer in July 2019, the top of the washer was dented by the delivery team. We called the store immediately and were told by our sales person that we would get a new one delivered in 8 days. That was in JULY 2019, there have been lots of calls to the store on our part. Lots of messages left and lots of passing the buck. Mostly they never get the message or are to busy. They came to our home 2 weeks ago to deliver the new washer, it was the wrong color. The staff is VERY knowledgeable of their products and if there is a question that they can't answer, they will find someone that can. We heard that it is hard to get appliances right now in town from places like Lowe's and Home Depot. So we went into Fred's and there was my Electrolux Washer and Dryer as we had sold with our house before moving here! They even had it in our new Condo's color scheme! We were delighted and placed our order. They came as quickly as they could being backed up. The unfortunate thing that happened through no fault of their own was damage to the fronts of the washer and dryer. They did find another set and delivered to us a few days later. We were pleased with our delivery guys, one named Mike, who were very careful to check the new Washer and Dryer to make sure of no other dents. We also appreciated all the sales clerks wearing masks and the delivery guys wearing them too! read more

I would have preferred to give them 5 stars, but our delivery experience, for which they are responsible, was unacceptable. The young kid who brought the appliance was unvaccinated. OK, there are still people out there who refuse, selfishly to the greater cause of stopping the pandemic, but at least they should train their delivery people to offer to put on a mask. This guy did not! In fact, he boasted that the pandemic was "done", that he never wore a mask, went on with his social life in Bozeman, etc. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! Sometimes the guys were friendly and helpful, but often they were snooty, rude, with some seeming downright angry (and displaying it to customers). Both Home Depot and Sears had better information on their appliances, with employees who were nicer and more helpful. We bought all our appliances at Freds but I'd go elsewhere next time! read more

This is the place to go in Bozeman! They'll either have what you need or get it. They have a warehouse with many items of merchandise. Big boxes have little or no inventory of some items. The knowledge and commitment of sales and service personnel is top-notch. I had some difficulty installing a wall mounted oven. Scott and Jeff took the extra step to steer me in the right direction. Was told that Jenn-Air had up to $1000 rebate on cost of installation-salesman did not have any literature so I looked it up and it was only $200-when questioned, was told by salesman that "guess I did not read it properly". Had a schedule date for delivery and install-was told the day before that by the way- the stove is on backorder and would not get for over a month-why the day before delivery do I find out-was told I could have the floor model but of course the installer was not available for another week-so I would say that the excuse of being a new store is not very professional and will go to the Flooring Store up the street next time read more

We are really impressed with the customer service at Fred's. The dryer we purchased quit working and we were having a hard time getting a clear answer from GE on repairs and parts. Fred's got right on it and in the end decided to replace our dryer free of charge. Terry and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to help us out.
