Lowe's Home Improvement - Hardware Stores Near Me - Bozeman, Montana

Lowe's home improvement center in Bozeman was once upon a a great store to shop. It still has the cleaner aisles better pricing than Home Depot yada yada yada until Lowe's has decided to go against the right to privacy for all of the community of Bozeman by installing flock cameras, myself at least 12 other people I know that value (your / our right to privacy) now boycotted Lowe's in Bozeman and will no longer shop there. I do not believe that Lowe's itself needs to track my location and receive the Bluetooth information out of my phone from their code reader flock cameras, as they do to build a private profile on me without my knowledge and it is very intrusive and disrespectful read more

I am incredibly upset that Lowes would put flock cameras in their parking lot. Very anti-Montanan and a huge turn off.

The customer service is subpar at best. I called repeated to speak to building to ask what I needed to measure to replace a door and if I could do so without replacing the jam. I live 1 1-2 hours from the store. I tried for over twenty minutes to get help. One lady answered the phone that admitted she purposely was not answering my call. I was redirected 4 times and had the phone picked up and hung up. I finally after having to deal with the AI that wants to refuse you to speak to a human, spoke to customer service again for the third time was apologized to for my "experience" to have my name taken with a promise to be called back because "he would personally walk my info over" to not receive a call back at all. I won't buy my door there. And lately I have started to shop elsewhere even before this because of other experiences like this. This is an ongoing issue for years now not something new. I was a loyal customer for years but no longer. read more

Bought a gas range with double ovens. Firrst time I used the lower (bigger) oven flames were shooting up and totally burned the inside of the oven and rack. Lowe's would not replace or repair. The "assistant manager Hailey told me I had to contact the manufacturer since I didn't purchase their "protection plan." She offered no assistance whatsoever. She didn't even ask what kind of range I purchased. It was just basically "too bad so sad for you," and I can't be bothered. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I bought an electric leaf blower at Bozeman Lowe's. I paid $100 for the blower and "2 year extended warranty". It sucked in a rock through the intake vent. Went to return it. The cashier said "get another one, I will swap you out". Came back and a manager overheard, "No, he has to call the 888 number." After finally getting a "rep" on the phone, I was given a 2nd 888 number. This time a voice recording gave me a web address and hung up! So basically " we will take your money and sell you a fraudulent warranty here, in store. Oh, you want a return,? Go deal with U.S.P.S. and chat bots. We're going to make this as hard as possible for you to get a new one." I will never set foot in this building again. read more

This store has the absolute worst customer service imaginable. I ordered a $1000 dishwasher to be delivered today, only to receive a cancellation email the day before delivery--no call, no warning, nothing. They had the audacity to list this dishwasher as available on their website! I lost a day's pay waiting at home for nothing. When I called to voice my anger, all they could muster was a half-hearted apology. They didn't even bother to offer me another dishwasher with expedited delivery to fix their screw-up. And if that wasn't bad enough, now my bank account is a mess with six separate debits and credits, locking up $1000 of my money. This is what I get for choosing Lowe's over Home Depot. Never again. This was the last time I'll ever give Lowe's my business. read more

Do not absolutely do not order appliances from this business and expect them to get delivered in one piece. On top of it, they damaged my handrail and three walls trying to get them in the house. They refuse to take it back out siding talk to the manager and see if you can get a discountabsolutely horrible service and even worse delivery. read more

Where to begin. I went into the Bozeman Lowe's and purchased an Electrolux Washer and Dryer set for delivery. The day before the delivery, the salesperson contacted me and told me a "new employee" had mistakenly sold the washer and dryer set and that they did not have another set in stock. Understanding that mistakes happen, I purchased a Samsung set they had in stock for delivery instead. I was assured the set would be delivered the next day. I waited and waited and never received a phone call. I live in a remote place, so I expected that the delivery would happen later in the day. I called to check in on the status of the delivery. After getting the runaround by customer service, being place on hold, etc., the salesperson called me back and notified me the washer and dryer were never put on the delivery truck. Fool me once. Shame on you. Fool me twice. Shame on me. For added insult, they short changed me on the refund to my credit card. Probably another mistake that will get fixed, but again just one last parting shot. What did I learn? NEVER purchase anything from Lowe's in Bozeman, MT again!! The only bright spot was dealing with the salesperson...I can't remember her name but she was very helpful and extremely apologetic. I don't blame her for the mix up. I blame the delivery manager and the store management for this mess. I called Fred's Appliance in Bozeman today and what an easy experience purchasing an Electrolux Washer and Dryer set. Fortunately I found someone with a truck that will help me go pick it up so I can get it back to my place before the snow sets in. read more

Employees were friendly and very helpful. Had everything I needed and at a good price. 5 stars

Purchased Bosch Dishwasher on 6/8/22 to replace broken DW. Paid $1000 for machine and $200 for install. Was told it would be delivered to store on 6/15/22. Verified delivery but installation wouldn't be until 7/7/22. Installers installed machine but only did quick rinse & drain. I ran dishwashers just after installers left - it's a 2-hr cycle. After short time machine gave E24 no drain error code. Called Lowes. It is now 7/22 and Lowes still cannot send tech to diagnose problem. Was told on 7/12 tech would come 7/21. No show, no call. Terrible experience. Complete incompetence. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Run away. DANGER. Spend your $1200 somewhere else. read more

Back in February 10th 2022 I had ordered a LG appliance package. I paid almost $8,000 for the package of LG appliances. Waited patiently for almost 3 months because I understood the supply issues that was going on in the U.S. . On May the 5th I received a call from Lowes that they would be delivered on the 10th of May. The same afternoon I received another call from Lowes that unfortunately there was appliances missing from the order.......in which I have already paided almost $8,000 for. They had told me that some of the appliances muwt have been sold without my knowledge......and maybe......MAYBE !!! By the end of May or into June.....the might have my appliances . Note.....that I have already paided for. The dishonesty by selling something behind my back that I had already paided for is unbelievable. It is not the way to conduct business. Not to mention just giving me nothing but excuses for their mistake and quite frankly......dishonesty. I have lived in Bozeman Montana for 35 years. It was never like this. Now that building inflation has gone up to almost 8%.......I am just trying to get my money back to actually end up purchasing somewhere else.......with the cost of inflation on top of that price. I will never step foot into a business that has that low of integrity to sell something behind my back in which I technically own that was sitting in their building in the back while the rest of my order comes in. That is why I'm gone.....and I have the issue. It's dishonest......and most definitely not the Montana way. This is why the locals are fleeing this area......because of this type of attitude and business here anymore. Just because where you were at sucked......please stop bring that attitude to Montana read more

They called the day before and confirmed delivery the next day. The delivery day they called after 11AM to tell me they were not coming. They claimed a weather delay but it was sunny and 40 degrees, the roads were clear and dry. They also wanted to reschedule for a full week later. I refused and made the 80 mile round trip to pick up the dishwasher. Delaying a project for a week (or more) on no notice is unconscionable and lying about the reason is just rude. read more

Pure shit! They don't answer the phone and you cannot get help when you are there at the store.

We were in need of four new kitchen appliance. Joel explained the various brands and we took advantage of a great sale. Must give a shout out to Lowe's for finding my expensive Costa sunglasses and holding them for me in the Lost and Found after a week of missing them. Some very decent and honest person who found and put them at customer service needs recognition. I knew I had dropped them somewhere in the store, but couldn't find them. Called two times once that day and again a day or two later, but they hadn't shown up. But Saturday a week after losing them, my wife called and the folks had them after we identified them. A miracle of honesty's like shopping this store when my local hardware can't help and they've gotten a lot of my business. Thank you Lowe's Team. No idea Of how relieved I was to get my precious glasses back! read more

Terrible customer service, it's like no one cares. This is a big disappointment because the other Lowe's stores were always top notch. I always preferred Lowe's to Home Depot because of this service. read more

We ordered a $400 custom cabinet in December for a bath remodel. It took six weeks to arrive. One door was damaged and Lowe's ordered a replacement door which took another three weeks. They sent the wrong size door. We called and were on hold for so long that by the time we drove over there, we were still on hold. The cabinet person doesn't want to help because s/he has incoming clients. S/he did the same thing when we came back with the first problem. Of course, there isn't another person who can help us. Bottom line, go elsewhere for cabinets. Home Depot is no better. read more

If I could give this location zero stars I would. The customer service is quite possibly the worst I've ever had. I have had several horrible experiences with them over the past year. They left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing and the bad attitude or "I don't care" mentally is only getting worse. The Lowe's in Helena is great!!! I will go out of my way to go to Helena if I need anything at Lowe's again. read more

I purchased a dishwasher on line which was to be delivered from this store. The day before delivery they called to confirm that they would deliver it. After 11AM on the delivery day they called to say they were not coming but would "schedule for a week later". They claimed it was a weather delay, but the sun was shining and the roads were dry. Rather than delay my project for a week (or more), I drove there and picked it up which took more than 3 hours. I won't do business with these people again. read more

I had a funny feeling so I called. I went through the touch pad maze to ring the lumber department - no answer there so it rang to the operator. She transferred me to lumber and It rang and rang - no answer again so it range to the operator. Since no on in lumber answers the phone, I risked it and went in. And wouldn't you know that my funny feeling was right. Their saw was once again broken. The trying-to-be-nice lumber guy was apologetic but I let him know that it wasn't the first time and that I tried calling - twice. And I was trying to remember the last time I was in Lowes when the saw worked - and I can't remember that long ago! Good thing there is a Home Depot across the street. Lesson learned - only go to Lowe's after going to Home Depot or Kenyon first. ...and don't even bother to call. read more

I purchased a refrigerator from Bozeman's Lowe's and the delivery team was great! I went into Lowe's looking for patio furniture. After walking through the patio furniture, I decided to try the one out that I liked the most. Noting that there are no signs stating that you can not touch/sit on patio furniture. Right after I sat down, a male yelled from the other side of an aisle "get off of the patio furniture". He was very rude and not helpful in anyway. If I would have known the policy(if there even is one) or if the male came up to me and politely told me that testing patio furniture was prohibited, the situation would have went much smoother. Overall I am very disappointed in the employee at Lowe's that was very rude. read more

I have had enough with the unwarranted rudeness of the employees at this location. I can usually ignore the ignorant employees but for three days in a row this week I was treated very poorly by three different lower level employees. The Allen Roth laminate flooring installed by Lowes 4 years ago is peeling up on the edges. Lowes must have known they sold us an inferior product. The installation was problematic as well. They had to return to correct mistakes and finish the job which is still a problem. They misjudged the amount of flooring needed and left an unopened package rather than taking it back for credit. read more

Okay so I have written many reviews of local hardware stores. I wanted to provide an update with a recent experience here. Ordered an appliance, took a few months to arrive. Turns out I get a call asking how the install went, I said what install I am still waiting for the item to arrive. Well its been sitting in the back of the warehouse for who knows how long, which is unfortunate. They apologized and we got it picked up and installed. Next problem, door isn't level on the stove with no way to adjust like say a French door fridge (also bout from lowes). So weeks go by and while the store hasn't yet resolved the issue through the manufacturer they are in my opinion making a real effort and offering honest communication. This leads me to my four star rating. While things in life aren't always excellent or perfect I really appreciate honest and timely communication. So when Lowes drops the ball and is honest with me and tries to take care of me to the best ability I take that into consideration and am willing to put some more patience out there and HOPE that they get it resolved. Having a business means building rapport and taking care of folks, hoping all is resolved and things continue to improve here. read more

Customer service is abhorrent. I just waited over 10 minutes at the paint desk for assistance all the while the paint department page is being broadcast over the store's intercom for all to hear, including the multiple employees not assisting customers OR acknowledging my presence. I asked an employee if there was anyone able to help and was met with a slack-jawed, head-scratched "I dunno" from a well intentioned yet thoroughly unhelpful trainee who did nothing more than stare at my paint sample as if it would spring to life and mix itself. Well done Lowes, say bye-bye to any future business from me or anyone in my household. read more

The customer service was decent. They had just what we were looking for. I didn't encounter any rude or unhelpful staff. This is a pretty typical Lowes, so there's not really that much else to say about it. Having said that, we didn't have to order anything or have it installed, so I can't comment on that. read more

My husband and I purchased vinyl flooring through Lowe's along with the installation service, unfortunately this turns out to be one of the worst decisions we could have made. The installation was horrible! There were gaps along the walls were the flooring should have been flush with the walls and other places where the flooring was glued up on the wall. There were tons of large bubbles and a foot long tear that the installers just glued down and did not disclose to us, they specifically stood on top of it when talking to us and having us sign papers so we would not see it. We complained to Lowe's and were assured the problem would be fixed. Three months after signing the flooring contract, we finally have our floored installed. We spent two months with half our house being blocked off because we had no floor down in our kitchen, just a bunch of glue. When one has a 10 month old baby, not having a floor is exceptionally difficult! The only way we were ever able to find out what was going on to rectify this frustrating situation was by calling Lowe's over and over again, neither they nor the flooring install company ever called us to inform us of what was being done. I honestly feel that if my husband and I hadn't pursued this so doggedly, Lowe's and Premier flooring would have happily ignored our complaints. Lowe's has always been our first choice when doing home improvement, but after this debacle, we and our families will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

I had to go to Lowe's yesterday to pick up some mini fridges for work. they had been pre-ordered on line that morning and were ready for pick up. I also had to stop by the dreaded HD as they had mini fridges we needed in stock in a different size. Now the difference between the two stores was crazy! The customer service at Lowe's was outstanding, and the store is clean and bright, total contrast to the janky dark and way to many employees standing around HD store. Josh at Lowes helped me out at the service desk right away and then helped me haul out the fridge to the truck and then even ratchet strapped down my load (even the HD stuff!) as I was driving back over the hill (we call it a hill but its a mountain pass) to Livingston. stark contrast to the HD where the guy says, oh I put it all on a cart, its down there - and waves in a general direction far away to a fully loaded heavy cart and starts to just walk away! I will always go to Lowe's before the icky HD. Thanks Josh for making my day a lot easier! read more

I had a hard time understanding a 2 star rating on this Lowes from 18 reviews until I tried to get some help on the phone. Makes perfect sense now only it's to high at that so I gave it one star instead and would have gone zero but it's not an option. Guess I'm just to use to using Ace Owenhouse and getting real service. 7 count em 7 phone calls then following the prompts to try and get the operator only to be on terminal hold until it finally took me back to the original answering prompt. On the 8th call I finally not only got to the operator but after a "LONG" wait I even got the dept I wanted. Of course they didn't have what I was looking for but when I asked the guy what he thought I should do to find an oval toilet lid and seat (impossible to find I know), he wisely referred me to the internet. How silly of me to try to spend my money at a local store. Google is the only answer and it only took one try, free shipping and it'll be here Thursday. So long Lowe's, next time I'll just order first and save myself a lot of time. Pathetic!! read more

My custom window order was horribly mismanaged by Lowe's. I ordered it on august 21 and it was promised for delivery by October 2. It finally came in on November 9. On September 19 I received an automated message from Lowe's saying my window had arrived. I went in the next day to pick it up and found they had the completely wrong window and it had a sticker describing the correct window loosely attached with duct tape. It took them a week to decide to reorder and then they said they could reorder with 2 week turn. But 2 weeks later they had forgotten that they were going to request a fast turn and now it was due on October 30. Lowe's spent the last week after October 30 trying to coordinate the shipping truck with their receiving. They kept putting me off one day at a time for over a week.. Their last excuse was that they don't receive from this particular shipper on fridays. I asked their manager Devin if he could make an exception to their receiving schedule because a blizzard was coming on the weekend . Devin told me there was no way he would make an exception for only a $550 window. In a single sentence he summed up his view on customer service. He failed to recognize the value the window has to me with a blizzard coming or the value of doing the right thing to keep a long time customer. Lowe's will not be my first choice in the future. read more

I bought several unfinished oak cabinets about 3 weeks ago. When they were stained it was apparent that one door panel stained much darker that the other five. I returned to Lowes with a photo of the situation and the customer service representative, Elizabeth, immediately called the cabinet department and a gentleman by the name of Bill came forward. He too, agreed that the panel needed to be replaced an went back and removed a door from a cabinet in stock and solved my problem. It was a pleasant experience and I am well pleased. Thanks, Lowes. read more

Went to the customer service desk to ask for help in locating a picture molding hook and was told I should just go back there because there is always someone watching that area. It gets worse. when i pressed, the CSA asks another guy to help (who was just standing around) and somehow he didn't think he would be able to find the part. I suggested that maybe there was a way that they could look it up on the computer. Finally I left and made a phone call to the store. The manager was able to tell me they did not carry picture molding hooks. read more

These people are the literal worst. My guy and I dropped $4,500 on a new washer/dryer setup. The associate seemed pretty befuddled by the computerized ordering system, so we stood over her shoulder and made sure to point out the exact appliances we wanted. One washer, one dryer, two pedestals. All is well. Time to pay. Although the associate extolled the virtues of putting the set on a Lowe's credit card (oh, the savings!), we asked her if there were any financing options that did not involve opening a credit card with a rapacious 27% interest rate. She confirmed that there were. "We'll do that," we said, reiterating about 50 different times that we did not want to sign up for the credit card. She had us sign a form "just verifying that I offered you the credit card," asked a bunch of questions, and then, an eternity later, presented us with a shiny, brand new Lowe's credit card. That "verification form?" Yeah, it was a credit application. I get that associates are under some pressure to sell the store card, but tricking people into applying is pretty low. We asked her to cancel it. Blank stare. "I can't do that," she told us. Okay. Annoying, but we consoled ourselves with the thought that we would soon have the best washer and dryer money could buy. We would be washing our clothes like Kardashians. We spent the better part of the next workday neglecting our clients and attempting to navigate the issuing bank's website (which was probably last updated ca. 1997) and set up an online bill-pay account. After several hours on the phone, we discovered that homegirl had 1) butchered the spelling of my mother-in-law's maiden name (she set this up as the password to our account, which she had already created without telling us), and 2) neglected to mention that the password could only be a certain number of characters long. This meant that our password was actually the first six letters of the name, but with half of them transposed. This fool's errand cost us about as much billable time as the stupid appliances themselves. Around our projected delivery date--which was, bafflingly, six weeks out from the date of purchase-- the associate called back to report that she had "accidentally ordered two washers and no dryer," which doesn't seem plausible, given that we watched her enter the order. In two weeks, she promised, the new set would arrive. It did, but, this time around the washer damaged beyond repair. "What about that extra washer you ordered last month?" we asked. "I don't know what happened to it," she said. Okay. It had vanished into the ether (maybe with this lady's brain). So.Third time's the charm, right? Delivery date number three came and went. Two more weeks elapsed. Finally, a new associate called us, said that she had come across our paperwork stuffed in a drawer somewhere, and asked whether we would like her to order the washer and dryer. "Order them?" we asked. "Aren't they on their way?" Spoiler alert: they were not. New delivery date was forthcoming, she promised. Spoiler alert: it was not. I called back today and tried three times to speak with someone in delivery. No answer. Appliances? Nope, nobody home. 90 years later, give or take, I got someone on the line. "I'll call you right back with that delivery date," he promised. That was three hours ago. BTW, I am writing this from a disgusting laundromat, where I have been camped out for the last two hours next to a drunk, passed-out hobo. I should probably befriend him since I am apparently going to be coming in here every week for the rest of my life while my appliances wither away in washer purgatory (meanwhile, here I am stuck making a monthly payment on this stupid credit card). TL;DR I would rather set my teeth on fire than do business with these dolts ever again. read more

I grew an affinity to Lowe's when I lived in Charlotte and have had good experiences with Lowe's in other locations. The Lowe's Bozeman is worthless. We had a terrible, terrible experience all around from Kim, the store manager, down to most of the crew. It's ironic that the tagline is Never Stop Improving. After placing an order for a master bath remodel of over $5,000, we are set back at least 5 weeks on our project due to Lowe's and are in jeopardy of not finishing it before our twin babies arrive. Please, please think twice before you partner with Lowe's on anything beyond picking up a basic hammer from Lowe's Bozeman. Here is a list of the major issues we had: - Were not called when the last item in our order arrived. I went in to find out that the last item had arrived the day before and their call system must have failed to make the call. - While I was told that all items from our order, including cabinets, had arrived, they had not. Some items missing from the order are even carried in stock. Why they did not pull them aside in the month they had to gather the whole order is beyond me. - I checked twice before coming to pick up the order to make sure all items were in and the items would be ready for me to pick them up. When we arrived at Lowe's, not only were some of the items missing and damaged, but it took over 2 hours to get the items that were there. - The tub, which took 4 weeks to get in, was damaged. Lowe's had not discovered this until they put it on our trailer and then the reps said fiberglass tubs ordered through Lowe's are always damaged and that's why they don't encourage it. Nice to know that after I placed the order and planned a timeline based on that. They also indicated they don't inspect items that come in a closed box. Um, the box had holes and tears in it and the cardboard top was laid on top of the box and fell off three times as they loaded it in the trailer. Some reps told me receiving was really good and should have discovered it and some kept to the story that they don't open boxes. - Customer service was HORRIBLE. Almost every rep I have worked with at Lowe's has been grossly undertrained and incapable of doing their job. From Kim, the store manager, Wicky, the assistant manager to Lee, the plumbing manager. I can say that Jeff, one of the store managers, was nice and pleasant, but did not know how to help me and could not figure out how to return two items that were part of the damaged tub. That took over 20 minutes alone with a receipt and he had to enlist two people to help. Mary in cabinets was great to work with. I'm sorry she gets pulled down by Kim the store manager and Wicky the assistance manager. I still have yet to hear from them to resolve the issue or notify me of missing items or items not received and in the meantime, I've ordered from local vendors (Mountain Supply for our tub), online vendors (lightingdirect.com and faucetdirect.com) and Home Depot in Bozeman to fulfill my order. I will be returning as many items as possible to Lowe's. DON'T GO TO LOWES BOZEMAN if you need a dependable vendor and partner for your remodel project. read more
