So I didn't get to peruse this particular Costco to the level that we'd usually do (aisle by aisle) when it's a new one to figure out what items they have. Parking feels fairly standard and a private lot for a Costco. Still hard to find parking during high foot traffic times. Inside was not as busy as say one that we frequent to in our state so it was nice to maneuver without too much hassle. Again maybe it wasn't a peak time to go. My mom hit a jackpot with their sales and got pajama sets for only $3. Easy Christmas gifts! But I think this can be dependent on the location and items that need to be moved. Either way, good selection of items in the baked good area and they had the lemon raspberry muffins which can be tricky depending on how well they sell at a Costco. We went to the snack bar and ordered 2 hot dogs and 2.sodas and they kept calling everyones.number but ours and my husband stood there waiting for his number of 350 and they kept calling everyone but ours so my husband watched the lady throw away the 350 ticket w 2 soda cups sitting there and when he finally walked up she admitted she threw the 350 ticket away and went over and got 2.hot dogs and threw them on the counter at my husband and said sorry in a smart mouth way. Making my husband feel like just asking for a refund and leaving. We were treated badly all because she refused to double check whether our order was filled. I'm visiting from out of town and had a very uncomfortable experience at this Costco location in Bozeman. It was about 30 minutes after closing, still light outside, with several cars still in the lot. I had simply parked to rest for a bit and eat some food before continuing my drive, nothing suspicious or disruptive. Then a man in plain clothes, driving a silver minivan with no security lights or identification, pulled up on me. No uniform, no badge, nothing to suggest he was official. He said, "I need you to get out of here," with zero courtesy. There were no "please," and no "thank you" when I agreed I would leave. Just a blunt command from someone who looked like any other civilian. I wasn't alarmed by it personally, but someone else easily could've been. That's not how you treat another human being, and it's unacceptable for Costco to hire staff to have that type of attitude as the face of their business. As a queer POC unfamiliar with this city, the entire encounter felt discriminatory and unwelcoming. I'm not trying to make this political, but that kind of behavior speaks volumes. If this is how Costco chooses to represent itself after hours, I'll gladly take my business elsewhere. Second best thing I love is the bakery is wayyyyyyyy fresher and the chocolate cake is absolutely wayyyyyy better than I ever had at Sam's club! What is not to like about costco gas. The setup in bozeman separates fuel traffic from costco warehouse traffic. The pumps are easy in and out. I ordered a tired online to replace one of my tires which was very near a flat. I did as directed and scheduled a tire appointment online even reading the policy which just asked that the tire be on the rear of the vehicle which mine was. The appointment was a month out because that was the next available, during which time I avoided driving to prevent a flat. I was frequently checking if a soon appointment was available with no luck. I called before the appointment just to check in and make sure everything was good to go. When I arrived, I was informed that they would not be able to change the tire, giving multiple reasons (the tread on the new tire was not the same as the tires I currently had on, I had two different types of tires on my vehicle, there was no proof that my current tires had been purchased at Costco). The solution I was given was that I could either purchase all new tires and reschedule an appointment after those were able to be ordered. Or take my car home, take the tire off myself, put the spare on and bring back the tire to be changed out. Or jack my car up in the parking lot with my emergency equipment and role my tire over to the bay window for them to change out and give back to me to put back on my car. I explained that I'm a single female on my own in Bozeman and all my family is in Missoula so I didn't have any help and it wouldn't be possible for me to get my tire off on my own and I couldn't wait another month for their next available to get my tire changed. I also explained that I was planning on getting all new tires in the next year but could not currently afford that expense and was just trying to prevent a flat because my one tire was damaged. I was told if I did have a flat then they could replace the tire. It was frustrating knowing I had done everything right and still couldn't get my tire changed. I had scheduled appropriately, read the policy, called ahead, waited a month and still couldn't get my tire changed which was truly an urgent issue. I was disappointed that their policies prevented good customer service and there was not a logical solution that was offered. My family has never had an issue with the Costco tire center in Missoula. I ended up returning the tire and laughed when I got a text saying they had serviced my car and wanted a review. What a joke. I took my business to Les Schwab and didn't have a single issue. In fact, I was able to buy a used tire that was nearly new, paid 1/5 the cost, and was able to get an appointment that same week. I will from now on be taking my tire needs to Les Schwab. read more

The lady at the front of Costco greeting people today 10-15-23 at 130 pm verbally harassed and profiled me as I walked in with my partner. There were about 20 people walking in at the same time as us and I had my Costco card out as we walked in. She proceeded to try and stop us and yell at us for my Costco card, which I had just put away. She did not ask anybody else around us for their card. It is terrible to single out the only biracial person walking through the door. There is not better place than Costco, even better in Bozeman because it is surrounded by mountains. A little crowded, but that's understandable. Parking was tight in the massive rental car we had but we managed. Located in a central location- although if you don't know what you are looking for it's further off the road than gps says. Gas attendant and indoor checkout attendants were nice, bathrooms clean, and concessions (long line) were efficient. Overall a great experience. We love Costco. read more

They refused to fix it because i had used a plug to repair it previously. Then asked about the warranty. I bought the tires 6 months ago. The said they were too worn. So. I called customer service. They told me that none of that information was correct but that they couldn't do anything because it was up to the techs discretion. I brought it to my local tire shop. They had no problem fixing it. The attendant there helped me pump my gas because I have trouble with my hands and so I can't grasp it properly. October, 2023, Tire Center I have a slowly leaking tire. I go to the Costco Tire Center in Bozeman, MT. where I purchased the tires under Costco's 5-year road hazard warranty two years and about 20,000 miles earlier. They refuse to accept "walk-ins" and I am offered an appointment 5 weeks out, obviously, I can't live with a damaged tire for 5 weeks. I am told to come back before the 10AM opening time and try for a repair then. I arrive at 9:30, the second in line. The manager announces to the crowd behind me that they are taking only 2 walk-ins (warranty repairs) and send everyone else away. I am told it could take all day before they get to it - message: we only do enough warranty work to avoid being accused of selling phony warranties. If you do use the warranty, we will "make you pay" by holding you here all day. Six hours later I am told the sidewall is damaged and they must replace all 4 tires because it is an all-wheel drive car. They charge me $390 for my "warranty", a big profit margin for them. I never see the damage to my tire and I never see my original tires with 50,000 miles remaining (more profit margin for someone). read more

It's impossible to get an appointment without booking two month in advance and you have to get there at 6am for "walk in" appointments - and even then, the order of walk in appointments are ignored. Costco in Bozeman meets all the minimum expectations of a Costco, but then adds on the Bozeman charm through all of it's employees. This Costco is always clean, including the parking lot and the front entry way, especially during snow season - I rarely have an issue with un-shoveled snow on my walk inside. Thanks to the clear markings and labels on aisles, I can find what I'm looking for (plus, many things I didn't know I wanted or needed until I saw them displayed so good marketing and staging there) and don't have to waste time going up and down aisles, wondering where things are. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and they seem to really enjoy their job! I appreciate doing my shopping here, but definitely try and do it earlier in the day if possible, as this is a popular place! read more

Typical Cosco except it's in Montana. So obviously there are no crowds parking is plentiful. Selection includes some great stuff for the outdoors. Things like fishing waders, rafts, and lots of outdoor stuff that is a regional selection. Fish selection is top notch. Wine choices are okay at best and all the hard alcohol missing. One thing I observed here is the Costco staff is around and helpful. So if you're lost and aren't we all when we are in Cosco, they can point you to the place. read more

People are nicer, selection of regional/seasonal items is great (like at any other Costco, if you like it you buy it. Don't wait!) and the pre-made/stand food is fresh. Normally, I'd give this store a 4. Every place has a downfall, Costco's is their tire center. They definitely need more people working out there. I digress.
