Wow, best service I've ever had at Staples! Thursday, October 17 at 2:30 PM. It is currently raining like crazy in Bozeman. Ran into Staples because I need an office chair. I could've bought one preassembled for $200 but I decided to buy one in the box and save $40. When I was checking out, Andrew offered to help and I said well let me go pull the car around because it is pouring down rain, but he got somebody to cover for him and as I was walking out to the car, he came running out behind me carrying this huge box with my chair in it. I'm really like a 2.5 on this one. Like most Staples, it's not A-OK, but it's hard to say that I've experienced better. There's always one person behind the counter, who of course can't leave. So you ask where an item is, and the directions are always something like, "you see that pole over there? Well, go that way and then look right." Okay. So after some aimless searching there's undoubtedly someone sticking something somewhere who eventually helps you find whatever it is you need. You return to to the checkout stand where the same Rand McNally employee of the quarter who gave you directions now wants you to sign up for the frequent buyer program. Then of course you try 5 phone numbers because you know that someone you know signed up. Alas, you leave. The end. read more

Staples on 23rd Ave is a joke, so I thought i would start coming here. I guess it's just a company trend because Ray "helped" me make some copies. Was rude, short and sarcastic the entire time. I brought my computer and charger into staples a few months ago because I thought the charger wasn't working and needed a new one. I don't remember exactly what happened but one of the tech guys wanted to take a look at the computer so I let them. He looked at it for less than a minute and told me he had some unfortunate news. It wasn't my charger that was broken, but in the computer where the charger connects to it was broken. Then he said that there wasn't a way for them to fix it without taking most of the computer apart, which would be very expensive. Then he said that even after taking the computer apart there was a chance that the problem would be about $400 to fix so he recommended I just get a new computer, which I did. THANKFULLY I didn't buy it from them. Fast forward a few months and my dad comes to visit and he likes playing with techy things so he takes my old computer to look at it. He fixed it within a day. There wasn't anything wrong with it. As I had originally thought, the charger I had for it was broken. I spent $800 on a computer I didn't even need to buy. I do take some responsibility for not going to someone else and seeing if they agreed with the tech guy at staples, but I learned my lesson. I will also be calling their manager to complain. Either their tech guys have no clue what on earth they are doing or they outright lied to me to try and get me to buy a computer from them. Either way, it's ridiculously unacceptable.
