Her husband had surgery with Dr. Lu and was very satisfied. Coincidentally, both his office and the surgery center are in Arcadia, where I live. I had cataract surgery on my left eye on 2/16 and on my right eye yesterday, using an EDOF multifocal intraocular lens (paid out-of-pocket). Dr. Lu truly lived up to his reputation; he was very professional, explained things meticulously, and patiently answered all my questions. Both surgeries went very smoothly and successfully. Furthermore, Dr. Lu personally calls patients on the same day after each surgery to check on their progress. Although there are follow-up appointments the next day, his dedication and willingness to go the extra mile touched and reassured me. Dr. Lu is truly an outstanding doctor, highly trustworthy and recommended. I also want to especially mention Dr. Angela, the anesthesiologist at Specialty Medical Center, who was excellent. Her dosage and timing were very precise; I was unconscious and woke up to find the surgery already successfully completed. Praise the Lord, my vision is bright again; my eyesight has recovered very well on the first day after surgery.

My left was was to be nearsighted and my right eye was to be farsighted. The doctor said in 3 months, my brain will compensate and it would allow me to see near and far without glasses. Terrible, and I repeat TERRIBLE mistake on my part! I cannot emphasize enough that had I been told that I'd loose my depth perception in the dark while driving at night, I would have never agreed to a Blended LASIK Eye Correction. I worked nights, I drove to and from work at night. Immediately after surgery, I could only see stars and halos on every single signal light and/or street light. I could not see through the darkness. When you cannot see a street curb, or people crossing the street in the dark, or you can't see much of anything through darkness, you're pretty effed up! I was told to come back in for another LASIK Surgery. I had it done to both eyes again. I could not have been more disappointed, there was no change in my eye sight. Now you have to realize, I've spent 5k in cash for these surgeries with crappy results. I was told I could have a third LASIK treatment, but, I risk the possibility of blindness in one or both eyes. I'm not stupid, I declined a third surgery. I was done. After one month I was back at my Optometrist ordering new eye glasses. Are you kidding me? After spending $5000, I have to spend $350 on a new set of prescription eye glasses so I can get my depth perception back while driving at night. I must have been completely clueless 10 years ago to spend so much money on eye surgery to get nothing successful back in return. 10 years later I still wear prescription eye glasses to this day. I really do not get any time in my life that I can be free and shed my eye glasses. I need them for just about everything I do. That's not what I spent 5k on, just to keep wearing glasses day after day. Think twice before dropping your hard earned money here. And definitely think hard before being talked into going Blended. This was the worst decision I've ever made with regards to my body and my health. My LASIK Eye Surgery was not worth if it was free with what I've been through. Read the fine print!! I know, I initialed about 10 sheets of paper which contained all of the risks that could become a serious issue. But I'm like most people, I just initialed everything they gave me to sign and was just too excited to get my eyes corrected. Well that rush to judgment cost me better eye sight. I will suffer with my eye sight for the rest of my life. So take my advice and think hard about Blended eye sight and really read the fine print. They are always hiding something in there and it my own fault I missed it and did not take the time to really read and comprehend it. Had I done so, I would have NEVER been talked into Blended by Dr Rabinowitz.

Dr. Rabinowitz spent time to answer my questions and provided me with some important information and appeared thorough. After leaving his office, I fully considered him as the surgeon I would choose for PRK and was not going to look any further. However.... The next day my left eye was irritated (slightly painful when I blinked). I wondered if it was due to the tests they did during my consultation and figured it would probably go away. The next day it persisted and I started getting some of the same mild symptoms in my right eye. I realized that I had gotten an eye infection. There were several tests that they did at my consultation that may have led to this eye infection. They did a dry eye test, in which they inserted tissue into my eye and maybe the hands of the person who did it weren't clean. Dr. Rabinowitz also dilated my eyes using a eye dropper which touched my eyeball and I'm not sure whether these drops were reused from patient to patient, but it wasn't that small of a dropper and I didn't see him throw it away... Regardless of how it happened, I personally would not choose a clinic to perform surgery on me that has given me an eye infection. The last thing I would want is to get an infection post-surgery due to uncleanliness. Maybe there is more care during the surgery, but I'm just not going to chance it. On a side note, after my consultation I wanted asked the clinic if they would send my results to a eye surgeon I saw in Canada 10 years ago who told me I wasn't a candidate at the time. Before going through with surgery I wanted to get their opinion on whether I'd be a candidate now with the changes in technology. However the clinic told me they wouldn't give me the information or send it to the other clinic unless I paid $200. Not sure why they would charge me for something they already have and since it's my information.

Doctor was very passionate and it was easier than I thought. I was told it would take 1.5 hours. First 45 min is really just checkin and taking some pill to calm my nerves. Actual operation was a like a few min per eye just to do setup. The only scary part was that when you do the surgery you don't see anything for like 7 seconds. Recovery was easy. I did the surgery in the late afternoon. I went on a booze cruise the next day. Had sunglasses of course but it was pretty awesome. Now it's 2026 and finally now that I'm older I am starting to get some vision issues in my left eye which is my problem eye.

Then, approximately when I turned 35, I couldn't seen as well. This was confirmed by an optometrist during an appointment. So, I'm back to wearing contacts and glasses. I have decided not to get LASIK again because LASIK reduces your eye moistness. My eyes used to be super moist before LASIK. Now, they're just "average" in moisture. I don't want to risk another surgery and also encourage other possible complications. It was nice having clear vision while it lasted. I just wished it lasted more than 6 years, but I'm very grateful to have not had any complications and since I've spent more time using glasses/contacts longer than having perfect vision with LASIK, it's like slipping into an old shoe that you've worn many times before.

If the light of your eyes is important to you and you want to preserve your eyesight ,Dr. Havunjian is the last person in the world to whom you can trust with your eye vision. Such doctors should be restricted from patients and from performing any kind of surgery. Vision is one of the important senses do not trust it to Havunjian.

He kept leaving the exam room during my consultation with him in order to treat other patients! I was literally in the middle of explaining my symptoms to him when he just left the room for 10 minutes with no explanation. My consultation should have taken less than 30 minutes but because Dr. Estwick was so busy with other patients I didn't end up leaving his offer until 2 hours later. Furthermore, Dr. Estwick prescribed me a course of treatment (which included the insertion of eye plugs into my eyes) without explaining me what the treatment was or why I needed it. He became impatient and frustrated when I asked him questions such as, "What are eye plugs?" and "How soon will I begin to feel relief after they are inserted?" It's a patient's right to understand why he or she needs to undergo a procedure or begin taking a medication, but Dr. Estwick clearly does not value this right. Dr. Estwick told me he would send my prescription to my pharmacy on Friday morning. Friday evening arrived and my pharmacy still had not received it. I called Dr. Estwick's office and the receptionist, Emma, said she would write the doctor a reminder note to send it before he left for the day. Monday morning arrived and my pharmacy still had not received the prescription. I called the office once again and Emma told she that all she could do was remind him again. I felt helpless. The prescription was finally sent on Monday afternoon, 3 days after I should have begun my treatment. My insurance company contacted Dr. Estwick's office to collect more information about why I needed the prescription. According to my pharmacy, Dr. Estwick's response was, "We do not have the staff or resources to complete this task." OUTRAGEOUS and COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! It is a doctor's job to ensure the best care and course of treatment for their patients. I am now having to pay out of pocket for a medication prescribed by Dr. Estwick because his office could not be bothered to provide any information about my medical condition to my insurance company. Yes, there is a nominal wait, however, I have never found myself waiting for an excessively long period of time and I've been here a handful of times. You have to understand that many doctors refer to Dr. Hofbauer and Dr. Fox so this is a bustling practice. If you want to see good practitioners in any field you probably need to wait a bit, but that is in no way a representation on the quality of the doctor. He told my mom she needed cataract surgery and the office promptly scheduled her at a nearby outpatient surgery center. An hour later she was back to new, no pain, blood or gore! She now sees him once a year or as needed for routine eye exams. I've heard a lot of bad cataract surgery stories from family members and Dr. Hofbauer is truly one of the best! Pro tip: they have a mini eyeglass boutique inside the office and you can browse and ask questions from the very friendly girl who works here.
