Fred Meyer I like fred meyer foods,their electronic store,clothing and toy department. Very nice people there they stay open from 9;00AM-11:00PM which is nice. I've been shopping at this Fred Meyers in Lake City weekly since 2003. Over the years, I've been pleased with the courteous staff and the selection of the produce. The store being located in our neighborhood, while convenient, does not sacrifice healthy choices, the way other stores in economically challenged areas do. Fred Meyers always has a great selection of organic vegetables and healthy choices for drinks and snacks as well. I have always been pleased by the staff, who are quick to answer questions, offer coupons, and ensure our shopping experience was satisfactory. The location is suited to its location on Lake City Way, ensuring convenience when exiting and entering the parking lot. The garden center always is a delight and it's definitely the best way to end your shopping trip upstairs. I recommend this location for excellent service, product selection and location. read more

I have lived in Lake City for 12 years and have shopped at the Lake City Fred Meyer twice a week consistently. In 2002 when I began shopping here, the produce section was well favored with both organic and good quality fruits and vegetables and had a good selection of healthy items in their inventory. The customer service, at that time, was tremendously welcoming. With the economy slowing down so much, the product selection as well as customer service had declined dramatically. The produce section, while well maintained, is not stocked as well as before with good quality items to make healthy choices from. The cleanliness of the aisles, registers, displays, vestibule and parking area are always cluttered, dirty, and stock items left by staff unsafely Every time I visit. The staff that have worked there over 5 years remain friendly and courteous, albeit overworked, but are very knowledgeable and helpful. There has been a steady influx of new staff who are Sorely lacking in the ability to understand the basic concepts of Customer Service. Case in point: Two evenings ago, I went to pick up less than a dozen items, four of which were moderately heavy, but which the bags were Well suited to carry, as they have been for the 12 years I have been shopping there. I greeted the new cashier and asked him how his day was and he was surly and displayed a very unhappy demeanor. The store had no more than 1 person in each line. That time of day was steady, but not slammed. In that my husband is disabled, I had asked for the items to be bagged to accommodate him, and the cashier was arguing with me and disdainful. I was not rude, I was very kind in my request and thanked him for his concern when he argued with me and asked him to please bag my groceries (I had less than 10 items) to accommodate us. His expression was far from courteous and even though he was very rude, I thanked him for making the adjustment and hoped he had a nice day. I have excelled at customer service since I was 14 and had my first job and never ONCE did I provide lousy customer service, even if I had a bad day, and NEVER to a handicapped client/customer! I accepted the changes the economy wrought, and have accepted the enormous reduction in product choices and cleanliness and lack of security in the parking lot, but I WILL NOT accept INABILITY to accommodate my husband's DISABILITY. This place is a great place to people watch. You see every type of person enter the doors. The place is pretty ghetto because it is kinda in the ghetto of north seattle but the food prices are very reasonable if on sale. The clearance section of the place is great, you can sometimes get savings as high as like 85%. I got a tank for like $3 instead of $15. The place is really dirty looking because there is a lot of people that come here everyday, but I'm not complaining. Employees here don't really care about the door alarm. I swear it went off about 5 time in 10 minutes and no employee stopped anyone or at least made an attempt to. Worst grocery store ever. The seafood area smelled so bad I had to plug my nose when I went to get a gallon of milk. While the fresh produce selection was good (but limited) the store itself is old and gross. You get a new breed of shopper here too. Slowest line ever for checkout, too. I've been in line for over twenty minutes and the woman in front of me is still not even close to being done. It's over crowded (not their fault) with inconsiderate shoppers. read more

This Fred Meyer has superior customer service reps. They ask "do you need help looking for something". They have great grocery bagging skills (eggs, bread and chips don't get crushed!). A customer service rep informed me that "you may want to move to checkout lane 3 because it may be quicker for you..there is less people in that lane". I am a return customer!! read more

5 stars for Michael in apparel! I arrived home and didn't find the Adidas running pants I'd bought in my shopping bag - but they were on the receipt. Michael let me know not to worry that they could easily be found from the cashier who would have put them in a special spot or wrote a closing note about them. He took the transaction number from my receipt and told me he'd call me back. 10 minutes later he called, about 20 mins later I had the pants in hand. Michael made it so easy and even apologized for me having to come back to the store. Totally easy, nice, and professional - at the Lake City Fred Meyer?!?! Who would have known? We shop here every week and we are always treated kindly by everyone who works there. From the helpful lady in the shoe department to the furniture guy, Thomas I think... very helpful when we bought a love seat last week. This is one of the strangest Fred Meyer that I have ever been in. Unlike most Fred Meyer floor plans, this one is a two story place. Groceries and some housewares on the first floor and clothing and garden stuff on the second floor. This particular Fred Meyer has been recently updated so aside from being multi-level, has the same general look and feel as any other Fred Meyer. Living in Lake City the only places within walking distance is QFC and Fred Meyer. That being the case, I do most of my grocery shopping here because the prices are generally better and you don't have to have a stupid card to get super special savings. read more

I gotta admit this place does run out of stuff sometimes but for the most part this establishment usually either has whatever it is I want or has something else I am after and/or want just as much. Plus with new releases of games especially Nintendo Switch games they usually are good about having them upon release & the staff there are usually good about getting those games for me right then & there. Even if they're not in the shelf yet they usually are kind enough to get whatever game it is I'm after then out from whatever back room they have & get it for me. This place although I do not generally get too much other stuff most of the time when I need stuff from other departments such as household stuff, cleaning stuff, some food & beverage stuff, and spirits they usually either have what I'm looking for or something just as good that I also like. Which is good I will admit. I do not have too many people in my life I could recommend this place to but I do have some family that do come to visit me from time to time that I will for sure recommend this establishment to though. read more

I had an issue at this Fred Meyer yesterday. I spoke to the Manager on duty today. He was easy to comunicate with and sounded apologetic and interested in my issue. He promised to investigate and resolve if possible. As a business owner myself it is impossible to make everything happen correctly every time. It is how a problem is handled that is the true quality of an organization is measured. Fred Meyer is very lucky to have Troy Graves as a Manager. I have only shopped here a couple times, having just moved to the area. Here are the things I really like, that's different from other grocery stores: 1) the produce is in isles - not islands. This means you can see all the produce without having to double back, or go in circles. 2) The "natural" products are separated from the "traditional" products, and are located all together at the front of the store. As someone who purchases a fair share of natural products, and knows what brands I'm looking for, this is quite handy, as the things I buy are all together. It might be hard for folks who are looking for a price compare, however... 3) Obviously, their rebate program and gas rewards are a big plus. 4) Short wait times. That's right, each time I've been there (including a busy Sunday night) they've had plenty of lanes open. Not in love with: 1) Their parking lot. All the cars park in the one entrance "lane." They have a great sidewalk to push your cart along to get to your car, except, that when you're at your car, there is no easy way to lower a (presumably full) shopping cart over the large curb. Maybe back in? 2) Their online coupon-adding app leaves a lot to be desired. Having come from Safeway, where they customize coupons based on what you buy, I was very disappointed in their, primarily brand-name coupon selection. 3) no Asian bean sprouts. Now that I have lived fairly close to a Fred Meyer for a few years, I find myself frequenting the place more than I ever would have believed. Why? -When I'm out of kombucha, Fred Meyer has it. -When I'm looking for some fitness clothes (I teach exercise classes and refuse to pay $100 for an outfit I'm going to stink up), I can usually find a piece or two for cheap when FM has its 30-40-50-60-70% off sale price specials. -When I need to throw some mulch on my plants, I can find it at FM. -When I need an eyedropper to feed Pedialyte to a young chick at 10pm, I can get one at FM. -When Seattle's winter weather becomes unpredictable and I need an ice scraper, I'll find it at FM. -When our TV breaks down and we buy a new one but need a new entertainment stand, I know FM will have a few styles at a reasonable price. -If I forget to buy a b-day card for a colleague and need to stop somewhere at 7:30 on my way to work, FM will help. So, while I do not expect to find the best products or service available, I do appreciate Fred Meyer for providing its customers with fairly convenient hours, a wide variety of products, and good sales. read more

They announce free gifts available at back of store "first come first served." When they get a crowd gathered around a long table of decent stuff, the salesperson arrives to pass out an eye glass cleaning cloth. But hold on, there's more! GARDEN STORE ONLY: The help there is non-existent. It is the gardening season now. I went there today thinking they would have service in that department, especially at this time of year. There was no one around, except the Master Gardners, who are volunteers. I gave up and searched for the supplies I needed myself. I found the bags of top soil and mulch, but they were too heavy for me to load. Finally a cashier appeared, who first slowly waited on one customer and then tried to find a step ladder for another customer. Then the cashier stood around with his hands in his pockets. When I got his attention, I told him what I wanted to buy and that I needed help loading the bags. He said IT WOULD BE AWHILE. I told him I would get them somewhere else, and he said OK. I tried to find a manager so I could discuss my great disappointment in that part of the store, but I couldn't locate one. I went to and got what I needed at Ace Hardware, where they actually help you find the product and then load it in your car. We shopped at this location for many years when we lived in Lake City, at one point we could see it from our front door, lol.I shopped here almost daily and I loved having everything my family needed in one place. Sure the customer service isn't always the best...but seriously how friendly would you be all the time if you had to deal with some of the shoppers they deal with? Yes, it's always super crowded, any time, any day of the week and that was one thing that drove me crazy sometimes but we could always find what we were looking for and they have reasonable prices...not Target or WalMart prices but decent just the same.
