A specialty medication which requires refrigeration was sent via UPS overnight air. It left Las Vegas on 3/19. UPS did not get the medication to my local UPS transfer point on 3/20 as planned. They tried to deliver it on 3/23 and I refused delivery. There is no way I'm going to inject a medication that has been without refrigeration for 4 days. I called CVS to discuss this with them. They told me it was my fault for not accepting the medication to test it's stability. Then, after nearly 40 minutes, they told me I could re-order the medication, but I needed to call back. I did call back and ended up back at square one and was told to call back tomorrow. Unfortunately the same thing happened two months ago. I'm tired of wasting my time on hold with CVS and not getting a simple answer to a simple problem. They are awful to deal with and do not respect their clients. read more

Best pharmacy ever- Joe & Mary are THE BEST. I am blown away to see the negative reviews about this pharmacy & I want to share a very different experience. I was trying for weeks to obtain some critical (and potentially life saving) medication for my daughter who was going abroad. After numerous failed attempts with other speciality & regular pharmacies, I came upon this pharmacy. The staff went above and beyond in helping us to navigate some unbelievable complexities with our insurance and my daughter's doctor. They cared about the outcome & sat on the phone with either myself or my daughter's doctor's clinic for literally hours. They also found a discount code to use that helped us financially afford the medicine when our insurance wouldn't pay for my daughter to have enough of it to be able to go abroad. Joe & Mary were specifically helpful. Joe spent a huge amount of time working out details to push our prescription through & allow my daughter to get her medication on time to make her flight for study abroad. I don't want to think about where we would be without this pharmacy. THANK YOU!!! read more

If I could give negative ratings, this would be the one time I would choose to do so. If you have ANY other option, take your prescriptions elsewhere! After four phone calls and one visit in person, not to mention over one month of waiting for someone, anyone to call us back about a prescription faxed by our doctor and transferred from Bartell Drugs, for my husband, the inept, unprofessional and lacking in any understanding of customer service by the employees in this pharmacy, we gave up! We went back to Bartell Drugs on Greenwood, had the prescription filled within an hour, received a phone call to let us know it was ready and friendly, smiling staff. If only ineptitude and callousness, not to mention rude employees and uncaring pharmacy staff was reason enough for CVS to shut this place down. Seriously, don't bother. Go elsewhere. ANYWHERE else. (That being said, our CVS experiences in Portland, OR and Arlington, VA had always been way better. So it's not. CVS per se, rather THIS particular pharmacy.) read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I regret taking my prescriptions to CVS Specialty Pharmacy. If you have ANY other options, take your prescriptions elsewhere! The customer service, although, tried to be helpful, would give you different instructions on what "paperwork" they need. I called about 10 times a day for the past 3 weeks to ensure paperwork is received and my prescription is dispensed. Every single day they gave me a different instruction on what they need to process my prescription. Every day is different. It's very FRUSTRATING!!!! BTW, as I'm writing this, I still have not received my prescription. I just called and they said they need a different form......I really regret I ever brought my prescription to this pharmacy. I've read through the prior reviews and have actually had a completely opposite experience, so I just wanted to share a positive perspective I have of this pharmacy. First of all the staff is very friendly and not only do they remember and recognize me when I come in, but I've overheard them have great interpersonal conversations with other customers in line. I switched to CVS from Bartells because I was having a hard time getting the prescriptions I needed when I needed them and they are always swamped when I'm there. This location is very busy in the back given it's literally in the middle of a massive medical district, but I have been very impressed with the times they go above and beyond for me, from personally emailing me documents I request for proof of insurance and confirming my out of pocket portion of my deductibles if anything seems abnormal. If I need something urgently, I can usually call and get something within 30 minutes. I have nothing negative to say about this place and have made this my home pharmacy for the past few months now! read more

I have used CVS since my doctor sent the script for my anti rejection drugs 3.5 years ago. For the first year everything seemed to work, no problems. They would call once a month to confirm my address and ask how soon I needed them. Great until they didn't call one month. I waited a few days, worrying. Finally I called them. It seems the tech who calls me was on vacation. No passover or follow thru, they just forgot me. I have medicare and a supplemental ins to keep the costs down, so there has never been a bill. The supplemental ins is there to cover co-pays for docs and meds. Never charged because I pay for the backup. this month a tech called to confirm, but, she said there a $181.00 copay this time. I said no there isn't because... She said maybe it's new this year, trying again to get the $181. I said no thanks, i will check with my ins. And if it is true I will pay. So my ins said I was covered. So call back to CVS, now they say that the charge was a mistake. I told her not to try to steal from me again. And am still steaming. How many people did she make this 'mistake' with? Did they fight back, or pay? read more

The poor reviews here all point to customer service. Pharmacy techs may know how to fill prescriptions and ring up purchases, and ask every time they're passed the phone for the caller's date of birth (I went through three people in one call, all asking me for dob, as if that infobit may've changed during the phone call), but the ones at Careplus CVS view the business telephone as an intimidating communication device with intricate, complicated patterns of relaying information. "We'll call you as soon as the medication comes in." No. DON'T FALL FOR THIS. I did, and so did many earlier reviewers. I could give Careplus CVS the benefit of the doubt. If they spend most of their phone time in much-too-long holding cycles with US HMOs and insurers being misdirected and given evasive answers, as what happens to me when I call us HMOs and insurers, I can see where the hostility and frustration generated would turn the Careplus CVS pharmacy techs against seeing the telephone as a worthy instrument. But try mimicking calling a 7 or 10 digit number on your phone. Allow 7 - 15 seconds for imagined rings, before someone picks up or the voice mail kicks in. Time yourself as you say: "Hello [insert name of choice here], I am calling from Careplus CVS Pharmacy to tell you your prescription has arrived and is waiting for you." Then mimic hanging up. Mimic entering into a log, either electronically or by ancient practice of pen and paper, who you called, what date and time, and for what purpose "Prescription is in. Come take." How long did that take? Do you feel that Careplus CVS employees' time would be put to good use performing that function? I'm giving two stars because as far as I know, my prescriptions have ultimately been fulfilled and, believe it or not, a Careplus CVS employee was five-star helpful in leading me to a prescription subsidy program, saving me hundreds of dollars off my prescription. But 60% of the time I call, there's a problem Careplus CVS has with my doctor's office, or the insurer, and 100% time those problems are resolved when I myself have to intervene. Which is why I have developed skillful telephone etiquette in relaying my problem, asking for help, and offering best practice suggestions for better productivity and performance. read more

I called the pharmacy to ask if they could order a specific medication for me. The pharmacist told me she "couldn't" make a phone call to find this out - that I would have to drive all the way out there (from Ballard) with the paper prescription in hand. Un-freakin-believable! I second the other reviewer's opinion - this place is pathetic. They could have gained a customer with a half-dozen new prescriptions; one who would make purchases while waiting for prescriptions to be filled, like most people do. She could not be bothered to make a two minute phone call. Wish I could give negative stars. I recommend reading the yelp-blocked reviews as well. I have been using this pharmacy for 3 years. I have never had any of the trouble other's are talking about. I have done business both in person at the counter and over the phone. Not ONCE has anyone been rude or unprofessional. Not ONCE has my order been incomplete or late. I receive 6 prescriptions per month, every month. I am very sorry for those who have had bad experiences, but I cannot agree with their evaluations of this pharmacy based on my experience. read more

I have brain cancer. My chemotherapy prescription is sorta important. CVS specialty pharmacy fills my prescription through this Care Plus pharmacy. Which is not open on weekends and has no after hours line, other than the CVS pharmacy main line, who they don't share computer systems with. So when my chemo prescription was sent to me with only one dose instead of the full five doses required, and it's Friday night and I need to get it fixed so I can take my fucking cancer medication over the weekend, there is no way to contact anyone at the pharmacy until Monday, and the CVS specialty mothership can't do anything because they don't have the Rx info, they just passed it through Care Plus. How the fuck do you run a specialty pharmacy with no weekend customer service? Avoid them at all costs. read more

Pharmacare, Seattle WA at 1001 Madison St. is horrible. I called on Friday and was told the medication I needed for my daughter would be there Monday. I drove from the Eastside Monday morning to find out the medicine was NOT in stock and the price quoted to me over the phone was wrong, it was $36 more. Price was the only reason I drove there in the first place. Don't believe anything they say. read more

I've only had two encounters with this pharmacy, both of which were by phone. Their customer service reps are horrible! First time wasn't as bad. I was waiting on a prescription pre-auth from the Dr so I was told they would call me back within a day. I waited 3 days without a call back so had to call them myself and was told they did get the Pre-auth from the Dr the day I called. By this time, I was on my last pill so they had to overnight the refill to me. Second time I called, I called to check if a prescription was ready for pick up as my Dr had faxed it over 3 days prior. The rep was very rude! She was impatient, would cut me off. They hadn't even filled the prescription, even after having had the prescription for 3 days! At the end of my call, she abruptly hung up! I don't have a choice of pharmacies at this time due to my recent Renal Transplant that requires certain meds, but I will definitely not use them if I had a choice! read more
