Yuck. Hard to find parking, a slim pickings garden department that is understaffed, unfriendly customer service people, and slow checkout. Unfortunately for me, I have often chosen to go to this FM to do shopping during my lunch break. Where they have very few check stands open, filled with elderly cashiers who are slow as molasses. I am not exaggerating-- it's p.a.i.n.f.u.l. When your only resort is self check-out, some of those people barely speak English (i.e. CANNOT understand what you are saying) and their systems never work to scan things in properly, resulting in an even more frustrating experience. If I have to scan something 4 or 5 times at self check-out, and this happens for every single item, you can bet I'll take my paycheck money elsewhere. The "managers" stand out in the aisles in small groups staring at the long lines with their clipboards-- not helping, not troubleshooting-- just you know, being a "non-working manager," I guess? You will often find 1 or 2 people working the "Customer Service" department and usually at least 8-10 people in line there. And you guessed it-- the "managers" don't care or help. The parking lot is filled with trash and often has homeless and/or drunk/high people. When I have called to provide feedback, if you can even speak to a "manager," it's lip service and an apathetic response. They are apparently fine having a crappy customer service experience and unsavory population hanging out in their parking lot. I love one-stop shopping! It's neat that I can get a Barbie doll for my daughter and some hot chicken strips in the same place. The staff at this Fred Meyer are very friendly and professional. I'm a small talk kind of girl, and it seems like when I'm at the checkout the cashiers don't seem too annoyed or busy to chit chat with me. When I have that lost look on my face (because I'm naturally blonde so that happens) someone is always there to ask if they can help. There is a cheaper grocery store not too far away, but I'd rather pay a few extra dollars for great service and convenience. I gotta say... When i lived in Shoreline, I avoided FM at all costs... But I kinda like them! Ya, I wish they had more organic options, but they DO have a decent variety. Ya, I wish they would only sell fair-trade roses at Mother's Day, but ah well... most people don't even know about Blood Roses from Mexico. I was in there one day with a broken ankle and the store is VAST... and this really cute guy named Caleb walked me around and helped me buy a verity of stuff. He was very courteous and extremely helpful and I saw him a few weeks later and he remembered me! The whole staff is pretty good.. 4 stars solid. read more

Up to today, I've basically enjoyed my experiences at Freddys. Today, however, was less than stellar. A little more than a month ago, I purchased a very cool gadget called the Litter Genie from Freddy's for use in disposing of our cats' waste. It works like a charm! Today, I go back to the store, and NO REFILLS! The "helpful" associate tells me to just buy the competitor's refill, and if it doesn't fit, I can bring it back...then she walks away. I guess that was her "best answer". WRONG! The competitor's refill is round, while the one I need is more square. No way it would fit. So, on to Amazon, where I ordered several refills, and probably saved $20 in the process. While I'm at it: Who the F&*! organizes this store??? Several items I needed were not in the most obvious place. The pre-made pizza crusts (not the frozen kind) were at the end of an isle containing frozen juice and other non-related items. The red wine vinegar, which most, I believe, would look for in the "baking needs" section was amongst the pudding, jello and other items. I must have spent an hour just looking for crap...some of which, it turns out, didn't even exist! I think Freddy's may be trying to be all-things-to-all-people, which must be a nightmare for whomever is in charge of inventory. But...for the most part, I still like this store...but have come to realize it does have it's shortcomings. The "A-OK" in my review should actually read, "Eh-Ok." read more

This Fred Meyer is my favorite store for one stop shopping, friendly and helpful staff, and weekly discount coupons. However my highest compliments go to the bakery with my recent ordering experience. I didn't get the invite to a friend's retirement until less than a week before the event and she wanted to design the theme when I expressed my idea of ordering a cake. The design wasn't ready until two days before the event. I went on line looking for a place to order but most of them require ten day or a week notice and the price is sky high. In desperate, I come to Freddy's because it's close to home. The young lady at the bakery asked what date/time I would pick up, gave me advice of cake size, taste, no extra charge for last minute ordering, and the best of all, they can "print" the design on the cake with sugar spraying equipment and the price is super affordable. I came pick up the cake, met the same super efficient baker. She said they didn't have the cake type I asked for (banana walnut), she made the white cake instead so she gave me a discount. My friend and her guests love the cake, the art work, the congrats the baker helped put on it. This is the first time I wrote a review to express my gratitude for a baker whose name I don't know but always remember what she did for me that day. read more

Cheap, cheap, cheap would describe this place best. Another big box store that destroyed the quality of the area. It's very quickly becoming a Wall-Mart. Food is pushed close to experation. Produce/meat/fish are horrible and spoil quickly. Theft at this location is horrible. Car break-in's are common. Small homeless crowd living in the parking lot. Don't come here alone after dark. If you do stay in the lights and park close. Keep an eye on your purse. Don't just leave it hanging in/on the cart. If income allows you to shop else where! I encourage you to do so! They don't deserve their business. It's all about "Please the customer and hide the horrible". About half of the employees qualify for food stamps... read more

Absolutely love this store. Friendly service and quick/short lines. I've used the daycare in the store as well and was very pleased. I just enjoy shopping at this store amongst all the others branches. The only thing I would say I am not pleased with is the self check out. It is weight sensitive and gives me a problem everytime I decide to use self check out for personal products and I just dread it but over all im a pleased customer. read more

Went here because we received a gift card and let me tell you, the service sucked! When looking at grills for about 10 minutes, we were never asked if we needed any help. There were 2 associates standing there talking and looking at us and they never once offered their assistance. Next we went to the electronics department to look at wireless routers, again we received no help. On our way to check out finally a woman offered her help so we followed her, she led us to self checkout and left us to do everything ourselves. i really like this fred meyer. it has a decent sized health food section, which makes me happy. i come here for the grocery items i can't get at trader joe's and don't want to drive out to bellevue to whole foods for. the prices are just about the same as whole foods, some things are a little lower. the people are generally helpful and friendly...when you can find someone. read more

Fred Meyer usually advertises happy employees. Yet it is a lie. I came down here and went into the self checkout area. The dreaded area where you don't want to be bothered so you deal with the finicky machine. This other woman was minding her business bagging her groceries, when the cheap a** grocery bag busts and all her canned Rosaritas go a-Rollin. These two large Caucasian dudes who worked there were standing and monitoring the self checkout area as if I'm bout to steal something. Yet his eyes failed him when the poor lady spilled her groceries. They did not bother to help. I frantically turn around and help the poor lady pick up her food while the dudes watch. Then I go back to bagging my own food. One of the worker dudes who was watching did not agree with my bagging tactics and suggested I do it a different way so the finicky machine wouldn't blare at me further. Then he commented "oooh pepper jack!" I sarcastically smirked. Hell yes I know about them spicy cheeses. Anyway why do he got time to critique my bagging and not have time to help people who are struggling? That just rubbed me the wrong way. read more

Love this store! This Freddie's location has wonderful customer service and since the remodel, a wide(r) range of products. The store is always clean and there is major focus on keeping aisles faced (reset) and stocked. Additionally, they have added the click list feature where you can pick up your groceries crib side (only down side is if you order at 12p, expect available pick up up to 5 hours later). Only issue with this store is parking is that a PAIN! Lastly, I think the salad section is far to big (3 facings of 5 bags of salad? Serious?) as frequently the lettuce is brown or starting to turn. read more

There's a reason this place was the busiest store in the area on Christmas Eve - my wife ran into about ten people she knew in 15 minutes! You can buy groceries, home goods, electronics, visit the bank, grab some food at the deli... Fred Meyer is the non-shady version of Wal-Mart. Prices are a little more, but you don't feel like you are going to get mugged before you get in the store, or feel like you need to bathe after you leave. Customer service is actually part of their vocabulary here! One of the stores that really belongs here in the Northwest. read more

The one stop shop! I love Freddie's it has EVERYTHING!!! And all of the employees are friendly. So we were looking for breakfast supplies and the worker there noticed that we couldn't find the hashbrowns. And he kindly led us to them and we did not even have to ask him. They're clothing is nice and I love looking in their nail polish section, arts and craft section and finally the as seen on tv section. Had the WORST experience at this Fred Meyers. I have been going to this Fred Meyers for years as I live just down the street and this is probably the ONLY time I've had a bad experience, which goes to show this situation was probably just the two employees (SHENINA & SASHEE) I have already formally complained about. I went there after work because I was told they have their milk sale going on for the half gallons (as they very frequently do). So I grabbed 6 half gallons along with some makeup products which put me in the apparel line for checkout. SHENINA was working the register and as she started scanning my milk, I reminded her of the milk coupon/sale going on. She then tells me that there is no milk sale and I asked, "Are you sure?" and she said yeah (LIE). Now most customers probably would have taken her word and paid full price - NOT OKAY. I let her know I go here often and that I was pretty sure there IS a sale. She then proceeds to go through her CLOTHING ad about 2-3 times. OBVIOUSLY, it isn't found there. She then goes on to tell me that she just works in apparel, so she doesn't really know (at this point, I had the feeling she just wanted me to leave her line and go through another register). So I decided to help her out and give her a suggestion that maybe, just maybe she should CALL SOMEBODY TO CONFIRM THIS SALE/COUPON. She then picks up her phone and says "I don't even know who I'm supposed to call and ask about this." SERIOUSLY? I am 250% POSITIVE a price check, or sale/confirmation, or customer questions comes up A LOT in grocery stores and you don't know who to CALL ABOUT IT? WOW. GTFOH. So she hangs up the phone & guess what she starts doing - going through her LOVELY CLOTHING AD ONCE AGAIN. I then ask "sooo. Did he/she say there was a coupon?" She tells me "yeah he said it was in the ad" all the while going through her CLOTHING ad again (I believe this would be the 10th time). She then tries to send me off again reminding me she "just works in apparel." She FINALLY mentions that they also have a grocery ad as well and that it might be found in there (NO WAY.......REALLY?!), but that she can't leave her register to get it. & here is the best part folks. I tell her straight up look I come here all the time for this damn milk sale and I never once had to bring the actual coupon with me, so I don't know where it is, and whether I'm in the apparel line, grocery line, or self-checkout, when I remind the cashier of the milk sale, they TAKE CARE OF IT. She then goes on to tell me to go and get the ad and points behind her toward customer service. I tell her NO, I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT IS, CAN'T YOU JUST GO GET IT SINCE YOU WORK HERE AND YOU SPECIFICALLY KNOW WHERE IT IS. In my head I'm thinking this SHENINA just put me through 10 minutes of lying and bullshitting about this milk coupon and the least her LAZY ass can do is take 10 steps north and pick up a weightless ad. BUT NO, of course she can't. Cause that would be the right thing to do. She tells me about 10 times she "can't leave her register when there's a customer." And also tells me "You're seriously not going to get the ad?" About 5 mins. Into Of back and forth of who's going to go grab the damn ad, I'm seriously pissed at this point. I tell her fine I'm going to grab the ad cause I need to get home, but I would like to speak to your manager when I get back. & here is SHENINA'S answer folks (this was said right in front of the customer who was behind me as well) - she says RUDELY "Wow, you customers always say that. Always talking about you want to speak to a manager." SO DISRESPECTFUL! And you know what, if it was THAT serious that your lazy ass can't leave the register, how about another suggestion, CALL ONE OF YOUR CO-WORKERS TO GO GRAB IT FOR YOU. GOODNESS. I SERIOUSLY FELT LIKE I DID SHENAYNAY'S JOB. so I went to grab the ad and when I came back SASHEE the P.I.C./Supervisor was there. This is somebody who is supposed to be trusted to handle all good/bad situations in the store when a manager isn't present. & she FAILED. All she tells me is "Im sorry, but Shenaynay can't leave her register." Says that about 100 times. SO THEN I HAD TO PUT MY 2 CENTS IN AGAIN BECAUSE IT SEEMS SHENAYNAY AND SLUSHEE HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO DO THEIR JOBS, I say look I've already been told she can't leave her register. But common sense is that you don't go and order a customer to grab something. You work around it. If you can't leave your register (WHICH LATER I CONFIRMED WITH SARAH THE MANAGER THAT YES SHE SHOULD HAVE JUST LEFT HER REGISTER), but as I was saying if it's really serious as a heart attack that you can't leave your lil register, then CALL ONE OF YOUR CO-WORKERS TO GRAB IT FOR YOU!!!!! Omg people this is not rocket science this is CASHIERING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE 101. And here is the best part guys - FINALLY getting around to scanning my milk, SHANAYNAY looks at me to pay.
