Fred Meyer has a very wide variety of items, from organic gluten free groceries to clothes to camping gear. They also have gardening items, sports items, furniture and outdoor furniture, office supplies, and more. They have some stuff that is expensive and they have some really great deals. I love that they have a lot of healthy food items. I don't know why I don't come here very much! I really should. read more

Then there is Ida on register #14. she is awesome and so helpful too. My only pet peeve is the girls in the starbucks area aren't as nice as they could be. Came in today, and I've been doing instacart shopping for other people. It's personal shopping through the app. Anyways, went to check out with the online pay scan code given from the app. I told the woman I was an instacart shopper and needed her to scan the code, which she did. At the end of scanning told me I owed $64, and so I tried to use my instacart card. It didn't work of course. I then TRIED TO USE MY OWN PERSONAL CARD TO PAY FOR SOMEONE ELSES FOOD. It didn't work. Then she has no idea what's going on and told me she's never done this before and tries to call someone to help and no one answers. I then tell her I just used this the other day where I had to have the cashier scan the code and they have to do the rest. She no idea what I was talking about. I told her no big deal I will just go to a different register, and get the items rescanned. I did and the girl at the next register told me some people don't know anything and after the code is scanned the cashier needs to enter in codes and showed me how incase the situation comes up again. It's embarrassing. Time is money, and this is like my second job because I work in healthcare, too. I just think that Fred Meyer should train their employees better or at least they should all know about instacart and what to do. read more

This review is for the bakery section. I had such a good experience with them! Mallory, specifically, was extremely helpful and easy to work with. My wife and I had come in to order cupcakes and cake pops a day before our baby gender reveal party. Not only were they okay us placing an order with a day notice (other locations required a 48 hour notice), they were able to make specific cupcakes with colored filling (pink) and cake pops filled with pink colored cake batter upon our request. We ordered 24 cupcakes, (12 vanilla and 12 chocolate) with blue/pink sprinkles and pink filling (we didn't know the gender, but had given Mallory an envelope from our doctor with the gender of our baby), along with 20 cake pops (10 chocolate and 10 white chocolate), with pink cake batter. All this was for a grand total of $39.78. Though it did seem like there was an excess of sprinkles on the cake pop, the cupcakes were delicious. I like the layout of this Fred Meyer. It is surprisingly big inside as well. They've got a Starbucks and a jewelry counter and I believe a vision center. It's like Walmart but doesn't have the Walmart feel in side. It feels more like a department store but more laid back and chill. They have a huge wine and spirits section and the largest selection I've seen of natural foods, organics, etc in a bigger "box store". Overall just a wonderful selection. And if you're looking for pet food, housewares, garden equipment, you name it...it's all in this huge store. All that's missing is an auto center. Haha! Oh one thing I like is that they have self checkouts. I personally like checking myself out and not having to wait in line, although there usually aren't a huge amount of lines when I go in there. They seem to actually have adequate staffing. Oh and even though I don't have kids, they have a "nursery" to drop your kids off while you shop. Fred Meyer really is a one stop shopping center. This Fred Meyer store is always well-staffed by friendly and knowledgeable people. I had an especially positive experience this week. I occasionally drive to this store from my own home town as there is generally greater selection. My item was not stocked, but Jordan in electronics made every effort to locate on the shelves and also to check on electronic inventory. As it was clear they no longer stocked the item, he also empathized that I'd already been to or called several stores. Though initially again disappointed, Jordan's wonderful espirit de corps had me leaving with a smile on my face. Fred Meyer ought to hang on to, and promote him. I hope he retains his wonderful warmth, authenticity, and customer service. read more

Going in here gives me anxiety but it has to be done sometimes. The place is huge with a million entrances. It has a offers jewelry, lawn and garden, electronics, clothes, cosmetics, grocery, seasonal, home items. The prices are ok but they do have some really good sales so watch out for those flyers and in store coupons. The staff are hard to come by but when you find one theyre generally pretty helpful. read more

They have really invested in cleaning this store up. It's bright and clean. Like many I've seen across western Washington, they are in the process of a grand re-opening. It's probably been open for 25 years and was starting to show its age. It's been 20 years since I lived here and so it took me a while and several trips back and forth across the 44k sq ft of space to find all that I needed. Got 99% of it - so not quite a one stop shop but pretty damn close. read more

This establishment is on par with similar competitors such as Walmart, and Target. However where they surpass these companies is with there food selection. Especially the organic selection. Fred Meyer also has major discounts on the household items. This is my go to place. read more

This is our go-to place whenever we shop for fresh produce because they have the best selection in my book. Fresh and crisp vegetable all the time. They have higher prices on other selections that we get elsewhere for cheaper. We also shop there for home stuff, I got some Bombay Co. mirrors on sale. We also go there during end of season sales because they mark down most stuff really low. Customer service is great. Clean and organized. My only complaint is the small and narrow parking area. Always do my weekly grocery shopping here. They have a pretty great rewards program similar to Safeway's. I have a costco card but I always go here or to Safeway to get gas because there is way less of a line than at costco. I go grocery shopping here instead of Safeway because Fred Meyer has a better selection. Fred Meyer has a great app for coupons and I LOVE the Fred Meyer coupon policy! The store has been recently remodeled and I hate it. During the weekends it can be pretty hectic in the grocery part of the store. I also don't like the locations for things in the aisles, it can be quite hard to find what your looking for. If you have the app, you can look up where the item is in the store, but sometimes it will just say "General Merchandise" which isn't helpful at all. The parking lot isn't well laid-out and is quite bumpy; it can be hard to navigate a full cart over all the bumps. The cashiers are okay. Some of them are really slow but they are ALWAYS friendly! It would speed things up if they hired some baggers. Apparently, this store has fancy technology that enables them to have the appropriate amount of checkout lanes open always. They claim you will never have more than one person in front of you in line, and so far this has been true for me. So if you see a long line of people, be sure to lookout for other open lanes. But keep in mind, some cashiers may be faster than others... I also love the apparel section of the store! I am very picky when it comes to my clothes and Fred Meyer is the only place I can get exactly what I want. They once had a pair of shorts that neither Kohl's, Target, or even Amazon had!! BTW if you are 55 or older, on the first Tuesday of every month, you can save an extra 10% off of your order, but only on certain brands, and you have to ask for the discount at the time of checkout. I love Fred Meyer and their employees, and I see myself going to this store for a long time to come! read more

My husband and I have been shopping at this Fred Meyer for years. Our experiences have always been good. Today, October 24, 2016, I waited in the Starbucks area because my husband forgot one more thing. As I waited some older man was waiving his hands and yelling at me. I had no clue who he was or why he was singling me out. I approached the police officer at the counter to tell him what had happened and the girls in Starbucks were defending him and saying he was not yelling at me. The girls went on to say he has a brain injury and he can't help it. I say bad PR. I told my husband let's go to the Tumwater Fred Meyer instead. read more

The Lacey, WA store had a deal on Fitbit watches. If you spend over $100.00 on these watches. You would receive a $20.00 gift card. So I bought two Fitbits and the clerk made two separate transactions so I would receive two $20.00 gift cards. After the I was done purchasing I asked him if I could use both gift cards that same day on other things I needed in the store. So I picked up a few more items and tried to use one of the gift cards. It didn't work. Neither of them had anything on them. I told that cashier I had just received these in the electronics department. They said to contact Kroger. I did that and they said that these cards were already used at the Tumwater Fred Meyers. How is that possible if I was at the Lacey store? They took down my name and number. Said they would investigate the transaction further and contact me later. It has been over a month and I am seriously upset that no one has called me back. So my cashier was a young man named Sterling in electronics. The purchase took place on 8/10/2020. I don't even feel comfortable buying gift cards or using my debit card there. I believe some kind of scam is going on and he should questioned. Possibly even fired. I do a lot of shopping at this store and never had a problem that was not solved until now. This is a wonderful store, the pharmacy employees are the best. The downside is criminals from the nearby Pleasant Forest Camping Club stalk their neighbors here on their grocery trips. They have people get in the way, and try to start conversations to manipulate. They have even used what appeared to be a handicap man with a walker to stand in the way at the door entrance. It is common for them to impede free access at the doorways of the person they are stalking. Or get in the way in the aisles as people are looking at items. They also will tell managers things that are untrue about the shopper. The criminals like to get really close to you in line, and will even hit the back of your ankle with their cart, then pretend it was an accident. And worst of all, they have their friends get menial entrance jobs here to help them. The managers of this store need to be aware of this. read more

Hands down the BEST customer service of all the grocery stores in Thurston County! Long term employees still smiling and happy.....I was extremely impressed with their box kids who were walking around assisting disabled adults with their shopping...these kids were polite, kind, patient and definitely an example we all should follow, especially during the holiday season, where hurried impatient grumpy people seem to abound! Best store ever. Lots of fresh produce, good meat selection, excellent bulk food selection. Prices are not bad and their staff is the best. Love that you can drop your kids off and shop (ages 2-4). I always eat lunch and then shop. Their soup is the best and I always spend less if I eat before I shop. Win win. Seriously, this is my favorite store. My "go-to" grocery ( and more) store. Great organic section in boxed, canned and frozen foods. Good selection of organic in produce, but I think the veggie section could be a lot more extensive. (But I go down to the Oly farmer's market and my own back yard for those!) Glad to see they have FINALLY added some antibiotic and hormone free meats, but it took a while. Also love their book selections at discounted prices. And now they have added discount gasoline for rewards card members - that's cool. read more

"Yes, Yes," I know. It's a Fred Meyer...How is it any different from any other Fred Meyer out there. Well, If you do all your shopping at Freddy's, then you know the quality differs a good bit from one location to the next. For me, the biggest thing I look for in a Freddy's, is the quality of the deli food. I must admit, after working 50+ Hrs a week I tend to be lazy on my days off. I can always rely on the pre-made deli food at this location to be pretty fresh (Which is something I can't really say for all their locations. If you're are in a rush, or simply don't feel like cooking, this is a great location to get cheap, delicious meals that are already prepared and ready to go. read more

I bought a video game from Fred Meyer one week ago. When I got home and opened the packaging, there was a bootleg dvd inside, not the game disc. I returned immediately to inform them about this mistake. Nobody would help me. The employees said I could talk to the electronics manager, Monica Stickney, so I waited. When she returned from her break she told me that there was nothing she could do, but I could talk to the store director Melinda Akana the next day. So I came back once again to try to get my money back for the fraudulent game. Melinda told me that she would not replace the game or refund me. This is stealing from your customers. I did nothing wrong and now I'm out $65.21. Because the distributor sold a copy that was not genuine, and Fred Meyer sold that to me, I'm the one who gets swindled. I will not shop at these stores ever again. I recommend that you do not give them any more business either. read more
