She asked lots of questions and took feedback from me, even when I wasn't sure how to vocalize how I felt. She pulled a lot of different styles, nailing down exactly what I did and did not like about dresses, until she found a perfect dress. As someone unfamiliar with the whole process? Shea was the best guide I could have asked for!! The whole experience was about what was best for me, and finding me the perfect dress. Never once did I feel like a dollar sign or a waste of time. I had the chance to try on a bunch of dresses at Samila, and I had found a dress I LOVED at Samila, but wanted to make sure I looked at options at other stores. Shea was absolutely great. She set a next-day follow-up to see how my other appointments went, and to let me re-try on the dress that I loved. Shea was always concerned for what was the best option for me, and when I told her that I found another dress that competed with my original dress? Shea went into the inventory, and found a dress that combined the best parts of both dresses. I cannot recommend Samila enough as the go-to for brides to be shopping in the Seattle area. You are guaranteed to be treated with respect, grace, and most importantly, like it is all about you!

I came looking for a second wedding dress after I disliked my first. I had a tight timeline and they were able to completely customize my dress and have it altered on time. When I contacted the shop, they showed zero sympathy for how important the evening was and offered no apology or compensation whatsoever. They insisted that if the zipper was going to fail, it would have done so in the store -- "never" outside of it. Their solution was to fix the zipper the following day, which was completely unacceptable since the dress was needed that night. To make matters worse, they wanted me to drive over an hour to University Village at 3:30 PM on a Saturday afternoon with my daughter stuck in the broken dress so they could "inspect" the zipper. My daughter was part of a group of 11 seniors headed to professional pictures, dinner, and the prom--time was extremely limited. This lack of understanding and flexibility made a very stressful situation even worse. When I expressed my desire for a refund, I was told it was outside their 30-day window and no refund or exchange would be offered. When we purchased the dress, we were told we had to buy it immediately to have it in time for the dance--essentially protecting them from any responsibility, no matter the circumstances. Adding insult to injury, when my daughter tried contacting the woman for help to get out of the dress, her calls went unanswered and were never returned. We were also wrongly accused of zipping the dress incorrectly and misaligning the zipper teeth. Anyone who has dealt with formal dresses knows it takes more than one person to zip these dresses. None of the teeth were damaged, and the zipper was not misaligned -- my daughter was fully zipped into the dress before it failed. They clearly don't care about your special evening; the money is the only thing that matters. I cannot recommend this shop for formal dresses. There are shops that care far deeper than your pockets. This is not one of them!!!!

The dresses were tightly packed in long racks and no one helped us with picking out dresses. We were told to select what she wanted to try on and hang it on a rack end. After my daughter selected 4-5 dresses she was shown a stall to try them on. She ended up liking one and we purchased it. The biggest shock came when I paid the bill, they asked for a tip! I was shocked. We were given the most minimal assistance and no one brought her dresses to try. My daughter did all the work. I was stunned, I did leave a small tip but wish I had not. I was completely caught off guard. I've never been asked to leave a tip when dress shopping anywhere. My recommendation would be to go here and try stuff on for size then order it online. We did not need altercations, but I heard those were quite expensive. I would not recommend this place for business.

They seemed to have a large selection but the space was way too small for the number of dresses. My friend was the bride which we had to clarify multiple times with the same employee. The woman who was helping us did not have a very welcoming attitude and was acting very snippy towards us as if the parlor was busy, although it was not. The part that made us leave was that my friend, the bride, began looking at the dresses. Without measuring or asking, the employee assumed the size of the bride and had her move to rack of dresses that she assumed fit the size of the bride. This was not taken kindly as it is not very nice to assume someone's clothing size without measuring or asking first. It was not even close to my friend's size either. It was not said in a helpful tone and was taken in an unkind way. We left promptly after that comment was made. Would not recommend to friend who is not a size 2 or above.
