I buy almost all of my groceries at Fred Meyer in Kirkland, but today is the last day I ever buy any meat from them. The last several times I have been there, the meat was all brown and dated the day before, so the meat was old and old looking. Today I bought some hamburger and thought it looked ok until I got it home and I was going to make meatloaf. It was all brown and smelled on the inside and I had to dump everything in the bowl. I will NEVER buy any meat from Fred Meyer in Kirkland ever again! I have been very loyal and everything else about this store is great, not sure who is dropping the ball here. read more

On 4/20/2017 I completed the task of purchasing the groceries on my list. Unfortunately, I had left an 8-pack of toilet paper and a 6-pack of beer either at the counter, or on the shopping cart. I believe it was at the counter as I usually like to launch the cart into the outside-cart stall like I am Luke launching a torpedo into the Death Star's exhaust. (I'm over 30 btw.) I feel like I would of remembered seeing the TP and beer from that moment but I do not. I called the store that day and reached their riddle-me-this, automated system. This made it very difficult to get a hold of management and the only way to do so via telephone is to pick at random and they will give the honor of directing the call to something breathing. The man that I reached said that Fred Meyer will "most likely" reimburse me if I came in and display the receipt. He was pretty kind. I came in on 4/21 and brought it up to information services. The man laughed when I told him it was on 4/20 and after chuckling to himself asked if I smoked that day. I laughed and thought that it was pretty funny. (I had not prior to shopping btw.) He checked the log book and sadly, it was not filed, indicating some jerk got to the merchandise like a twat. He was polite and decided to call his boss to see what he could do for me. The call was extremely brief, and the manager decided to go completely by the book at the expense of the customer because he was unhappy with his life. Since it was not logged there was nothing they could for me because fuck the customer the manager explained. The thing is, is that I have spent easily thousands of dollars at this store over the years. It as if they were calling me a thief. It is my fault for not doing roll call to the items before I traveled in my sick 2003 Saturn Ion. I not only will be boycotting this specific Fred Meyer but lay the Smackdown the American way by aggressively writing a slightly humorous and factually accurate Yelp review. Fuck that manager. Apologies as I did not get a name. Props to the customer service dude who cared more in that moment than his boss ever did. read more

It's been renovated! This location has lost its ick factor - hooray! It's now bright & modern - a great place to shop. There is even a kids dropoff area (which I haven't used), but it all looks friendly & clean. read more

Very friendly staff in customer service and in the bakery department. I get tens of boxes of dozen donuts frequently for business purposes. The bakery stuff is always outstanding and the donuts are amazingly fresh. $5.99 for a dozen donuts you can't beat that! Thank you bakery department. read more

Honestly, I prefer the old layout better. Much easier to walk through. Especially since now they've put the electronics section SMACK DAB in the middle of a whole bunch of unrelated products. That and now instead of 3 exits, there are only 2. The cafe/ deli is pretty impressive though. Pretty good wraps, and the smoothie/milkshake machine is probably the only reason I'd visit regularly. read more

Love this store! I am in there at least twice a week. Employees are great, super helpful, abundant and many have been there for years. Food prices are better than other stores around (QFC, Safeway) and it literally is one-stop-shopping going to Fred Meyer. The Starbucks in there is exceptional, too. read more

They did a good job with the remodel recently - the store definately looks nicer, and is pretty huge now. But the one thing that drives me crazy here is the layout: The milk is WAAY in the back (of course), and the bread is on the totally other side. I can never find the paper-plates and the like, it's just not organized well. I've been to a bunch of grocery stores, and I've just never gotten the feeling that they went out of their way to put things in random spots. read more

They remodeled a perfectly decent Fred Meyer, and produced this stupid layout. In most other Fred Myers, I can go through 3 aisles, get all the groceries I need, and be done. Here, there's fruit at the front, then bakery at the very back, then milk and eggs and cheese behind the toilet paper and the pet food. Who thought this up? Front door alarm always going off for no reason. Only the small self-checkout stations are open, and they only have enough space for half a dozen items. read more

I love my Fred Meyer at Totem Lake! I've e been shopping there for OMG forty years, and seen it go through many changes. After the recent remodel, it was a bit confusing, but the aisles are clearly marked, so no problem. The staff is always courteous and friendly. Always some one available to answer your questions, " where's the and do you have". They'll track it down for you. The pharmacy is great, prompt and efficient. Rene in the pharmacy is a big help. The prices are so much better than Safeway, or God forbid QFC. As the saying goes, if they don't have it, you don't need it.. read more

Just moved to WA and am amazed at the limited shopping. Fred Meyer is shoved down your throat and their prices are not great. Limited produce selection in the entire state, which is also amazing. It's convenient as there appears to be almost as many Fred Meyers as there are Starbucks. Off topic...but can anyone explain why apple, berries, etc. are more expensive here than in most other states, yet they're grown here??? read more

Yesterday evening I was called by store management to find out how to resolve the problem I wrote about earlier. The bottom line is that I was given a sincere apology and my $85 I was shorted before. The store has a great selection and good prices, but I am only giving it 3 stars because the customer service is poor. On a weekend, you can expect to spend over 30 minutes in line checking out in the grocery section. The lines are as long as in Costco, but the cashiers are less than half as fast. The other problem is the pricing is deceptive. I've found items on sale then when I got to check out, I get charged full price. They usually give some poor excuse as to why it's not really on sale even though it's the exact item that is listed on sale on the shelf. Don't expect an apology if they screw up either. I used to love shopping here but the last couple months it has been more hassle than it's worth. read more

I usually enjoy shopping at Fred Meyer. It is what they say, one stop shopping but this location isn't the nicest Fred Meyer I've been to. There is a checker, brown hair, a little on the heavy side, probably in his mid 20s, and he is a real creep. I had brought my son and nephew in one night and the way he treated them was unreal. He asked my nephew what his name was, he said Christopher. The checker then said "Lucifer?" and keep in mind, my nephew is only 7 and doesn't know who Lucifer is. He repeated, "No, Christopher." and the guy again, said "Lucifer?" My nephew was saying his name clearly and doesn't have a quiet voice. He then got out of his area to put a bag into the cart, he got behind my nephew and acted as if my nephew was in the way when there was clearly enough room for him to get past him. He insisted that my nephew move. This checker just seemed to have personal issues he brought to work which ruined the whole shopping experience. I even went as far as to complain to the manager on duty. This was just a younger girl who managed the front end clerks. She acted as if she were concerned but it was very clear she would not do anything about it. Needless to say, this store is not worth my business and I've told people this story cause word of mouth is the best advertisement. Unfortunately for them, it's negative advertisement. I have been going to this F.M since the 90's before Kroger bought it. The store used to have fully stocked shelves but no longer. Not sure if it is a warehouse problem, or the buyers are not doing their job but have spoken to managers at this store, called Kroger corporate, answered their surveys and no change. The employees are frustrated as well as they have to constantly apologize to customers for not having a product. Today tried to buy a particular mousetrap and of course that shelf was almost empty, the box was opened but as it was the last one I brought it. I showed the cashier the open box and all she did was close it and sold me the item. When I got home, it was obviously used as it had peanut butter in the bait holes and then put back in the box and returned to the store...Incredibly disgusting but par for the course with this store and it has become painfully obvious that Kroger doesn't give a whit about customers...Easy to shop elsewhere in the Seattle area. Corporate DOESN'T care. Hello Target or Kmart...you will soon get my business. read more

I do nearly all of my shopping at the Kirkland Fred Meyer. Their prices are almost always the best and where else can you get reasonably priced produce, an occasional good clothing item, shoes for the kids AND home accessories? Today I left my purse in a cart and was gone 20 minutes before I returned in a panic to find it turned in with everything intact, including all of my cash. An employee saved my day and for that among everything else they get my loyalty!! read more

I used to really love this store but as of today, I will probably be thinking twice about going there when they are having a sale. They informed me that they no longer issue rain checks on sale items unless the manufacturer is the problem. Making a special trip to buy a sale item that is not available and unable to get because they did not order enough is a waste of my time. I am very sorry to hear of this policy change. read more

This Fred Meyer is poorly managed...VERY poorly managed. There isn't a day of the week that I haven't shopped there and had to leave without more than a few things on my list. The employees are also the nastiest bunch of folks I've ever met. Visiting this Fred Meyer is beginning to leave a bad taste in my mouth, and today's experience really planted a seed of intense disgust for this place. Today they were completely out of fresh dill, avocados, Hansen soda, and red onions (that were not destroyed and moldy. Ew.) I really needed the fresh dill since two of my recipes for the week called for it, so I ask the deli guy (actually friendly) if he can call someone in produce. The produce guy comes out and goes about his business stocking a few things. Since he's ignoring everyone, I surmise he isn't the guy that was called by the deli to help me. I approach him anyway, since he's stocking produce. I give him a friendly hello, and the guy actually sneers at me. Awkward. I ignore it, because I want the dill, but alas, none to be had until tomorrow. He didn't check in the back or anything, but I decided not to question whether he knew much about the produce stock. I also just wanted to get away from his toxicity (now I know why the red onions were so moldy). I always find it interesting that they never ask me about my shopping experience at this Fred Meyer during checkout. I can only remember a handful of times at the Everett Fred Meyer store when they forgot to ask if I got everything I needed that day. So, I take it that they know they are doing poorly. And finally, the pharmacy...oh my! The Kirkland Fred Meyer pharmacy gets NO freakin' stars! The last three times I have been there they didn't have the medication I needed. Do they call and tell me it isn't in stock? Nope. They wait until I get there. The last time they not only turned me away, but they turned away the elderly couple in front of me because their medication wasn't in stock either. Also, it takes them two days to refill a prescription. Again, not my experience at the Everett Fred Meyer. The Kirkland Fred Meyer pharmacy is so poorly managed (I use the term "managed" very loosely here) that they did not have a back-up plan in place for the day that they updated their computer systems to scan IDs to buy decongestants. The woman stands there and says, "I can't sell any to you today because we are changing computer systems." And she looks at me like I'm the idiot! Really, you guys knew this was coming and your back-up plan was, "We just won't sell those products that day." Don't even bother with that pharmacy - they are worthless. Sigh. I'm so sad about this because I used to love Fred Meyer. Well, specifically the Everett Fred Meyer store. I recently moved to Kirkland and I gave this Fred Meyer so many chances, but they absolutely stink in comparison to the experience I had at the Everett Fred Meyer. Lines are always ridiculously long, and the self check out "supervisor" was extremely rude on several occasions. I actually heard her yell at someone who was asking for help. It can be hit or miss on customer service. However, this isn't a boutique. I bought an ice tea glass jar with a spout. it broke when it slipped from my hand. I was given a new one (although my fault) and shown where a broom was so I could sweep up the mess. I was surprised they asked me to do it. But it was practical. She couldn't leave the register and I wanted the glass removed quickly so I could back out. Overall, it has been fine for the variety of items you would get at variety store. read more

This review applies to the pharmacy only. I've been to a couple of different pharmacies in the area (Walgreens, Rite Aid) and here. I've found the employees here to be helpful but kind of weird. Yes, weird. A couple of years ago I took anti-anxiety medication for temporary work-related stress. I went to the FM pharm to pick up the medication and the person at the counter told me, "This is for mood swings. But you look happy to me!" She wasn't even the pharmacists, just the gal who rings you up. I don't remember what I said but probably just smiled and made a joke, paid for my rx and left. My most recent experience was a mixed bag. I called ahead to verify the cost of a medication that my provider told me generally costs ~$1,500 and that most insurance companies don't cover. I didn't want to deal with it in person and needed to update my insurance info anyway. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and wasn't in a rush to get me off the phone - she even verified the copay for me. The reason FM Pharmacy gets a 4 star review from me is because my provider had told me about a copay coupon provided by the drug manufacturer to offset the cost of this ridiculously expensive medication, which I found online and was prepared to bring with me. But the pharmacy gal said my copay was $0. It turns out that they knew about the coupon and applied it for me without my even having to mention it. I've never experienced that at another pharmacy and was very impressed and appreciative. I was really relieved that not only did I not have to pay an obscene amount of money, but FM did the work for me, without any hassle. That is excellent service. It was a mixed bag because, again, I had a weird interaction - this time with the pharmacist. I'm taking an antibiotic for GI issues and one of the side effects of antibiotics can be additional GI issues. She asked personal questions about why I was taking the medication and was very animated when describing the possible side effects, complete with scrunchy face ("ooOOooh, this can cause *whisper* upset stomach *end whisper*. Let me know how it goes!"). Yikes. I guess I prefer the matter of fact delivery I get from other pharmacists. Maybe at FM they're trying to sound sympathetic? I don't know, but they've lost a star for being 2/2 on making me uncomfortable. read more

Ladies, beware. The shredded up wooden chairs will ruin your hose in the bistro area. The early bird gets the worm at this FM. I'm here at 12:15 and the lettuce in the salad bar is completely GONE. No refills left. At the soup and hot bar stations, the small and medium containers are absent as well. I am on the road a lot for work and can usually count on Freddie's for a healthy, inexpensive meal but not today. The good news is their bathrooms are spotless! read more

I bought 2 bags of soil yesterday and not only did the checker Jamie process the sale but offered to call Raymond to ask him to load the soil for me after I drive my car over, and sure enough Raymond was there, ready to go! Jamie and Raymond should both be commended by management for bringing more and happy customers to the store! Usually love shopping at Fred Meyer however I recently moved to Kirkland and now have to use this location to shop. I hate it. Poorly organized, greeting cards are in the midst of no where. Everytime I go they are out of most things. They don't carry anything that is a little more of a demand with diverse population for example spicy cheetos with lemon, pita bread that's thinner and in gluten free section at all other Fred Meyers is not carried here at all. Kambucha pomegranate flavor is their most popular and yet they never keep it stocked. Same thing with Burt's bees brightening eye cream it is always out of stock. Here is a tip- if you notice something being sold out consistently may be order more. And most of the time the staff lead you in the wrong direction because even they don't know how this store is organized!!! Just in general I waste a lot of time at this poorly organized fred meyer looking for items on my shopping list only to realize they don't carry it and/or it's out. I'm new to the area and wanted to find a grocery store that was open. So I Google grocery store and three came up within a one mile radius. Fred Meyer is the closest so I call to see if they are open, it's 6:00am by the way. A young man answers "Fred Meyer Grocery", I ask him "is the store open?" He says, "what do you think" and hangs up on me. I try back again thinking maybe I miss heard him. The same man answers again and says "Fred Meyer Grocery", I start to ask him a question and he laughs and hangs up. Well I for one will never shop at any store named Fred Meyer if their employees act like that. I am on my way to a 24 hour Safeway that a woman answered the phone and was very polite and helpful. read more

I recently just started shopping there and was preparing for a barbecue so I went to the deli looking for some Pesto the lady working behind the counter came out from behind to talk with me and gave me her recipe for pesto told me where to find the ingredients and went further to ask what else I was planning when I told her we were barbecuing chicken she then shared with me her recipe for an amazing pepper rub. Dinner was great and I will definately seek her out whenever I am there. read more
