Okay, here goes. Good prices and crazy selection of any and everything. Some fruits, mostly of the citrus variety, didn't seem at their peak of freshness. That's a problem according to my appetitedom. There were other questionable produce, too, heads of lettuce looked a little beat. On several occasions I purchased bell peppers and tangelos and they had weird, brown patches throughout. I'm realizing this is a vendor issue, but after happening more than once I'm a little hesitant to repurchase. I warily decided to peek into the other side of this Fred Meyer oddity and discovered a hidden kingdom of household items, fleece sweaters and discounted John Candy movies. Ahhh, the horror! Honestly, while perusing the above mentioned abyss of housewife paraphernalia, it dawned on me that their prices are way more expensive than Target. So, no, Mr. Meyer, you will not be my one stop shop after all. Hmph. read more

I really like this Fred Meyer due to its convenient location, easy parking, and semi-friendly staff. Whether a staff member is nice to you is 50/50 here, but the nice ones are super friendly and awesome. Everyone in the prepared deli section has been super sweet and nice, only one person I can think off that has been consistently rude. The fish/poultry department is another story, really a coin toss whether you'll get a grumpy annoyed person or a really nice one. Their selection of grocery products is really good, they have everything from fancy things you would find at PCC or Whole Foods to budget friendly options. Their vegetable/fruit selection is huge and you can pretty much find anything you're looking for at a great price. I love their coupon app as well and their Friday Freebie promo. I always manage to save a couple bucks when I use the coupons. This is definitely the best option in the area in terms of value and selection and I love coming here to do my grocery shopping. read more

I avoided this place like the plague until the recent remodel. It is now light and bright, well organized, and has a nice selection of items at generally quite good prices. The produce selection is good. There's an adequate selection of stuff in other categories -clothing, gardening, toys, whatever. What I really like is the addition of a gas station next door - if you shop regularly at Freddy's, you'll accumulate enough fuel points on your card that the gas prices are quite good. Management seems to be responding to the complaints about not being able to find anything during the remodel. Each time I've visited lately they've had floaters in neon green shirts that say something like "Can I help you find anything?" that will point you in the right direction. This is my go-to place for household stuff like trash cans, kitchen gadgets, etc. They seem to always have a good selection of stuff on well stocked shelves. The prices are competitive though you should usually wait for a coupon since pretty much everything there eventually ends up on sale. Even prior to the remodel I didn't feel like it had that run-down old Fred Meyer feel that some stores do. One tip is that this is where I go for "weird" things like serrano peppers, plantains, jicama that aren't really that weird but aren't carried in decent quantities by my QFC. The meat selection looks kind of scary and pumped full of saline so I stay away from that. The produce is well rotated and the produce workers have always been helpful when I'm looking for weird stuff. The staff has been friendly when I've interacted with them, I've never had to wait too long in line. They do get pretty busy on the weekends but not as bad as the Ballard Fred Meyer. read more

Freddy's usually has everything on your list, no pun intended. I can get everything here: food, books, garden items and toys even. Skip the clothes though. They are not good quality compared to a real clothes shop. Unless you are buying name brands like Levis or Nike. It's a better deal here than QFC for food. QFC is almost always wanting more but QFC does have better meats. I have never run into any problems with food from here. The only problem I did run into was I purchased a pack of yugioh cards I got for my cousin, there were 3 in the pack instead of 9 like it says on the front of the package. My family has shopped here for over 40 years. I have many fond childhood memories associated with this store. The smell of Jo-jo's brings back childhood memories of shopping with my Mom, who always bought us a few for some peace while shopping. Last night, my dad misplaced his iPad in the store. That iPad is very important to him, his whole life is on it and it's probably not backed up because, you know, Dads. He could see it was in the store (thanks find my iphone), but it wasn't accurate enough to track it inside the store. This morning, one of the assistant managers mobilized the store and they FOUND it, buried in a cart. I didn't get her name on our brief phone call, but I really appreciate her taking the time to help my Dad who had been searching on his own for hours. This Fred Meyer is similar to any other, but one thing has told me that this particular store just doesn't try very hard - the alarm at the front entrance is broken. And I'm sure the employees just love this and I'm also sure it makes them want to come to work every day (not!). But the stupid thing keeps going off. I can't recall how long it has been broken, but it has been much too long to have done absolutely nothing about it. Not only must it be irritating to the employees and creates a poor work environment, but it's terrible for customers too. It's not exactly inviting. I must give props to the Fred Meyer in Issaquah, they are always willing to help, friendly, and when it's not too busy pleasant to chat with. I plan to try harder to go elsewhere whenever possible. read more

This store is rather depressing, honestly. It's in need of some repair, and the rusted 25-cent rocking horse doesn't do much to help, in that regard. I felt like I was in a prison almost, they had security tags on every article of clothing, every pair of shoes, and thief detectors galore. Additionally, an employee named "Benjamin" was rather abrupt, and somewhat rude. An older lady didn't have sufficient funds to pay for the $12.25 she accrued, only having $10. He shrugged, said "Sorry." Then, when I got to the register, he was like "They have goddamn price scanners all around here-- you think she would use them." The only reason they earned that second star was the fact that I was able to get some good deals on clothes. read more

This rating applies to this location only, I would give their stores 4 stars on average. This is the closest store to where I live. It's in the process of a remodel, so hopefully I can reassess. Prior to the remodel, I have: -Accidentally bought packaged food items here that were well past their expiration date (I'm not in the habit of checking because a big grocery store should be turning the product quickly). - had several bad experiences at the pharmacy where the pharmacy staff forgets to request refills from the doctor and blames me for not asking them to request the refill. Transferred back to Bartell. - shopped the produce dept to find they are out of mushrooms, garlic or bananas on different occasions. - asked the meat department on two occasions why they are out of a common item (chicken?? And ribeyes) only to be told I should shop on less busy days or when something isn't on sale. I was told by the employee that I don't understand their ordering process because I don't work in retail (thank God I don't anymore!) Despite the low rating, I still stop in about twice a week out of convenience. Otherwise I drive to the Redmond location or Winco for major grocery trips. Hope their grocery section is much better after the remodel. read more

Garden center & side entrance are locked at 8pm. There is NO POSTING of this condition. It generally looks and feels like a warehouse and organized very awkwardly. There are very limited, or non-existent larger sizes (women's 18-20) of clothing. Cashier staff has been overly chatty or surly. It DOES have a very generous vegetarian selection. When stores go through a remodel I can usually still find my way around. Unfortunately, that is not the case with this particular Fred Meyer. I dropped by after work today to look for a gift for my dad. After walking around in circles for ten minutes, I found one of their aisle phones. No one in the department answered, so the call was forwarded to the front. It turned out they didn't have what I wanted, but that isn't their fault. By chance I stumbled across the movie section (which was between the stationary and garden supplies), and picked out a couple of Civil War movies I thought my dad would enjoy. After selecting my gifts, I decided to go through the food section, and I have to say it was not at all intuitive. I'm not sure who designed the layout of the store, but I sincerely hope that the remodel fixes it. For now I'll stick to Safeway and Target. I don't like mazes disguised as grocery stores.. read more

Seriously don't understand how this place is constantly busy anytime I go. Seriously senior citizen central, which is fine. But just be prepared for blocked aisles and walking painfully slow. Fred Meyer has been here almost 20 years. They have remodeled 3 times and every time they do, the selection decreases and the prices increase. When they first started, they had a great hardware department, but that has declined over the years. The toys and drugs have expanded. Fred Meyer gobbled up QFC, then Kroger bought the whole shebang. They do carry lots of different products. Their grocery section has stuff you can't find at QFC, like quantities of turkey legs, and buffalo meat. It is sort of an almost one stop shopping center, although you can no longer buy everything at one checkout stand. The fruits and vegetables are about the same quality as QFC, but slightly lower prices. All, in all, not a bad place to shop. read more

Fore those about to repair footwear: WE SALUTE YOU! Sometimes you just gotta have some glue that is shoe-specific and that glue is Shoe Goo. It is a coveted compound material that the internet knows is superior for repairing shoes, like snowboard boots in my case. Well, the difficulty is that you CAN'T find this stuff, anywhere. I tried Home Depot and Walgreens. Nothing. I searched the Fred Meyer website: nothing. I just happened to go into this store on a whim and there it was, in the hardware isle next to the paint (I had randomly asked an employee in produce and he had recommended two separate spots to find glue. He was friendly and helpful, unlike a pharmacy "vendor" who basically said not to bother her because she didn't know about the store. She also did not have a good attitude about it. Thankfully, this was not a Fred Meyer employee. Without his recommendation, I may have left still frustrated and never knew that the glue had been there all along). Finally! Also, they even had it on sale and the large tube was not much more expensive and I was so sick of not finding it anywhere else that I went ahead and bought it. Otherwise, this Fred Meyer location feels pleasant inside and they even have a lunch/restaurant area. I thought the seasoned green beans were amazing when I had them, but the rest was just average. Still nice to have that in the store, though, as competing groceries stores like QFC don't seem to have the meal deal or lunch special. I have not been in the Seattle/Kirkland area long and I have rarely been in Fred Meyer, but I was so happy to have found what I wanted with all of the compounding frustration from previous attempts that I was extremely pleased. If I continue to go to this location and they don't deserve a 5-star, then I will update my review. read more

I work fairly close to here, so when I don't feel like eating a fast food burger, I will head to Fred Meyer's deli. I'm new to Seattle, so to have a place like this everywhere is kind of nice, since its like WalMart without the guilt. However, their salad bar and hot food bar doesn't change. The hot food is exactly the same, day in and day out. If they have a large deli with all sorts of offerings, why don't they heat some of that stuff up?! I think I may be expecting a Whole Foods or Town and Country offering, so I tried to be generous with my three stars. It would have been four, but the salad bar doesn't seem to be kept up with very often. read more

I stumbled on this by accident when I went to Kirkland Costco on 4/14/2016 to buy gasoline (Premium $2.35/gal) and the line was really, really long so I left and ended up at Fred Meyer as I also needed to go grocery shopping. Upon parking I noticed that Fred Meyer sells gas and was surprised to find it wide open with only half the pumps had cars. The Big Reveal: Premium was only $2.39/gal before any Fred Meyer discount and they even had 3 grades plus Diesel. I almost never come here and I cant remember the last time I have..pre-re-model that's for sure. I will say that I was pretty impressed with the grocery section. They had a lot of natural/organic selection. And you gotta love the "bulk" section. I needed to get some baking supplies (cooling rack and pan) as well as ingredients so it was definitely nice to have a one stop shop place to go. Like Ninette C. said they do have pretty fair prices. I got everything I need for $41 bucks. I have to say though, some of the people who shop here are almost as funny as the people of walmart, one grade up if you ask me but still entertaining nonetheless! read more

I absolutely love this Fred Meyer. The employees are all so friendly and nice. I'm one of those people that buys things that I don't need and end up wanting to return them. They make the return process so simple and I've never had any problems. Just the other day I couldn't help but notice that some guy returned an item that looked like it was from 30 years ago (no exaggeration). Even though it was clearly past their "6 month" return rule, the guy behind the counter (Dean, i believe) gladly allowed the return. The people who work in the deli and meat department are all wonderful as well. There is one loud and boisterous fella in the meat department who is just all around great at his job. Everything is all screwed up with the remodeling. It is the employees that are not social distancing. There was one employee that we asked about taco shells. She said because of COVID you can only get Kroger brand. Then we saw the employee again on another isle talking on her phone and because the store is such a mess we asked where boxed potatoes were. She was perturbed said she didn't work there and told whoever was on her phone "I will call you back" But on the tortilla isle she was so nice. But on the other hand a nice man stepped out to help us with our wine selection. Also we have bags in our car. So tell us the rules? We can bring our bags in again? And we bought onions and on the receipt it says they have been recalled. Are we safe to eat those? Why didn't you clear them off the shelf if they are unsafe? read more

Terrible experience today! They integrated all the natural food with the other food. Now instead of one convenient section where I can find everything I need I have to walk through every aisle of the store. This trip today should have taken me 20 minutes and it took almost an hour! Even if this new layout makes sense to Fred Meyer it is way less convenient and dangerous for people like me who have severe food allergies. I have been going to this Fred Meyer for years and enjoy its selection and the service. Several years ago, this store underwent a major renovation that was all for the good, expanding the store and rearranging departments so they made more sense. Employees are friendly. Today, I even had one employee apologize for the messy boxes where he was stocking shelves. They do need to add more checkers (tip: there is a "secret" checkout stand at the far end of the store, towards housewares). Store is always kept clean and stocked. As a retail manager, I am hard to impress but this store just AMAZED me. I had come in yesterday on my lunch and purchased 3 skirts and my husband's anniversary gift, which was a Seahawks t-shirt and a playstation game. When I got home, hours later, I go to give my husband his gifts and they are not in my car! I have the bag with the three skirts, but no game and no Seahawks shirt! In a panic, I called the store, the gentleman said come in, bring your receipt and "we'll investigate". I came in today, with my receipt in hand, as well as the bag with the 3 skirts. I spoke to Lorena, who made a call, someone behind the scenes was pulling the video from the time I was there. At this point, I'm assuming the worst, but you all know what assuming gets you... I am fully aware of how my whole situation looks to an outsider. I have pink and purple hair and piercings on my face. I'm telling them that I'm missing a bag with my 2 expensive items, but have the bag with my 3 clearance skirts. If someone was telling me this story, I'd be a little skeptical! It took about 10 minutes for the call back from security. The video showed that I didn't get my 2nd bag, the man behind me did. He didn't turn it in, HOW RUDE. Since it hadn't been turned in, I assumed (again with that word!!) that I'd have to repurchase the items. WRONG! The manager and Lorena told us to grab the items and they'd replace them for us!! AMAZING!! It's not the store's fault that the customer behind me stole my items. We are ecstatic at the service! But there's more... When we came back with our items, we were also handed a $10 gift certificate "for our troubles". Granted we live in Everett (I work in Kirkland), so it was a drive to get back to this store, but they didn't know that and we were happy enough that they wrote off $104.01, yes, the price of the 1 shirt and 1 game was over $100 (and my 3 skirts were only $25). From now on, I am a Fred Meyer girl! I will choose Fred Meyer over all other stores! THANK YOU FRED MEYER FOR SAVING MY ANNIVERSARY!! read more

I like Fred Meyer cause it is close to my house and it is one stop shopping. Prices are decent. I don't come here too often for groceries, but find when I do, they have good deals. Most of the time my fiance and I wander around the store for long periods of time perusing the aisles for things we don't need (like camoflauge duct tape...we don't need it, but how cool is that). They have one-hour photo, bet you didn't know that or will use it, haha ;) Got my engagement ring at the Fred Meyer Jewelers...ring cleaning while you shop. read more

I like the look of the remodel, it makes it nice inside. Except I had a hard time finding things! Wife and I shop at the Kirkland Freddie's for years. It's normally our "go to" store for almost everything and we're still planning on shopping there. But, today's experience was that bad I had to tell. We went to the Electronics Department to purchase a laptop. We had planned to drop $400.00 for a HP. We wanted to asked the sells guy a few basic questions about the differences between some of the models, you know just to confirm our choice was the right one. Should've been basic sells and customer service then we pay the $400 and leave feeling great about our new purchase. Here's what he told us, "To be honest, our laptops aren't that good." He made a few more comments that talked us out of buying our laptop there. He then walked off. Wow, I thought... I guess we'll have to buy our laptop somewhere else if Fred Meyer's doesn't want our money. Is "the new" customer service now without dialogue from the store staff? I get the internet has taken over, but some of us Baby-boomers still like some good old sales consultation. read more

I decided one day to check out this weird name of a store, my first thought was it's a car shop of sort, but I found out , it has clothes, shoes, and groceries, can't beat that. I started browsing and checking out the items, very disappointed with the prices. I still prefer my grocery market. It could have been a good experience, the weather was good outside, BUT, employees are rude, I said plural because one could just be having a bad day, but more than one? , they get upset by you just asking question where to find items in the store. Booooo, Fred Meyer, look at your leadership, fire them all or send them to training on how to identify good employees who can appreciate they have jobs, Outstanding Customer Service, very important. I went back again, it's convenient for me, but I thought it will be a better this time, I went in a good mood and left again with a bag of purchase but a bad taste in my mouth. so disappointed. Lovely LOOKING remodel but I could not be more disappointed!!! 1) The location of products is confusing combined with the aisles zig zagging & not enough room between the center aisle you're forced to ZAG into each time you finish a short aisle. 2) There are fewer grocery choices because the store now sells EVERY thing except the kitchen sink (which actually might be sold there & I just haven't found it). It's as if they're trying to be a lousy COSTCO. 3) it's no longer a friendly feeling store. It's WAY too big for that. Too big. Too cold feeling. 4) I loathe how the milk is as far away as it can possibly be FORCING you to walk what seems like an eternity to get to it. And I'm very fit. I can't imagine an older person ever returning after one visit. 5) It feels like it was designed in some expensive boardroom by a bunch of men who have rarely set foot in a grocery store. I used to go to FM every week. Now I go ONLY for one or two specific items if I'm desperate. No more big weekly grocery trips there for me. read more
